Editing an Outlook Email Portfolio

It was stated by Dave Merchant on Jan 20, 2011, the following;
PDF Portfolios created using the Outlook PDFMaker plugin in Acrobat X are not *currently* editable. This is a technical implication of the style of Portfolio navigator applied to the file, so while it does not have any security, the Edit button is disabled and there are no add/delete file buttons. It should be fixed in a later build though I can't make any promises.
I'm using Adobe XI Pro and the bug is still there along with not being unable to change the style. This seems to be an issue with Adobe X and XI when creating email portfolios in both Lotus Notes and Outlook as I have created several portfolios where these tools use to work in Adobe 9 Pro.
I'd like to go back to using Adobe 9 Pro but I had to upgrade to XI in order to use Outlook for printing multiple emails from Gmail.
Yeah, there's a lot here, just want to know if Adobe plans on sending out a hotfix any time soon?

Hi Dave and "pdminer51",
This is a known issue with opening Email archived PDF Portfolios in Acrobat X, that were created using Acrobat 9/X.
To delete mail(s)/mail folder(s) you'd need to select them using the mouse cursor/keyboard and then press the DELETE key.
As to "In AX 10.0 you cannot use the keyboard shortcuts with a PDF Portfolio created from Outlook", keystrokes do continue to work upon Email archives opened in Acrobat X. UP/DOWN keys can be used to scroll through the mail list(s) and/or to add/edit filters.

  • How can I edit an outlook email prior to the form being distributed?

I have recently upgraded from Acrobat X Pro 9 to version 10.1.3 and am now unable to use the below feature.
Before, when distributing a pdf form, I would use the 'desktop email application' option, and when I clicked 'submit' on the form, it would go through all the usual steps, and then when I clicked the final 'next' it would bring up the actual 'email' in an outlook format, with the pdf attached, and the addess in there, but the option to edit.
Now, it just comes up and sends automatically, not allowing me to make any modifications prior to sending.
Is there a simple change I need to make to the settings, or what am I doing wrong?!

    Try this add-on:

  • Convert Multiple Outlook Emails to Multiple PDF Files (Not Portfolio or Single PDF) for Archiving?

Hi all, I am learning how to convert emails to PDF files and there is some great functionality there!!  I have not discovered how to convert multiple outlook emails into multiple PDF files (one PDF file for each email) - all at the same time (not one at a time)!!  Is there a way to do this using Acrobat X??  The purpose of this is for long-term business archiving.  When I search for an email in the archive, I do not want to pull up a portfolio containing 1000 emails or a 1000 page PDF file with multiple emails run together!!!  I want to pull up individual emails containing my search terms.  I have been searching for a way to archive emails and MS OUTLOOK .PST files are NOT the answer.  I get a lot of business emails with large attachments and I do not file my emails in separate sub-folders (by client or job).  I want to convert multiple emails (by date range) from my UNIVERSAL INBOX into multiple PDF files for long term storage (with each email being converted into its own, separate PDF file and named with the same name as the "Re: line" of the email).  This has been a HUGE problem for me....and Acrobat is sooooo close to the solution for me.  Can anyone help??  If so, will attachments be converted?  If not, is there a separate software program or add-in that I can buy that will do this??  I use MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Windows 7 64 BIT.  Thanks for your help!!

I am a retired person and did'nt realize I already have a Adobe account, so you can scrap the entire information. Thanks for the trial anyway and have a great week.

  • Extracting files from Portfolio - problem with outlook email created portfolios

Currently I have developed a plugin that can extract files from portfolios using:-
    PDNameTree tree = PDDocGetNameTree(pdDoc, ASAtomFromString("EmbeddedFiles"));
    and
    PDFileAttachmentFromCosObj
But i've noticed with Outlook email created portfolios the above is PDNameTree invalid.  any suggestions?   is it under another atom string or something?
    Thanks,
    Lee.

ok, found something out here... if I close the doc using AVDocClose then re-open in the code using PDDocOpen then the PDNameTree tree = PDDocGetNameTree(pdDoc, ASAtomFromString("EmbeddedFiles"));  works!!!
but now I have a problem getting the original pdf open filename.
usually can get it with below code but it's returning the Folder path + garbage instead. (this only happens with portfolios created by outlook that I have tested)
There must be a better way of doing this, any ideas? thanks, lee.
    ASFile asFile = PDDocGetFile(pdDoc);
    ASPathName asPathName = ASFileAcquirePathName(asFile);
    char* temp = ASFileSysDIPathFromPath(ASGetDefaultFileSys(), asPathName, NULL);

  • View Outlook Email on my iPhone

    Hi all,
I've recently purchased an iPhone, but I'm hesitant to open it until I find out if I can view emails from Outlook. At work our email system (like many) is MS Outlook and I want to view my email (with syncing them) on my iPhone. Can I do this through the web? And/or can I view Outlook email through the iPhone mail app?
My work currently uses (for web) Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access Provided by Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Can I view email through safari using this setup? Does the iPhone use ActiveSync?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    mike

    Nathan C,
    Thanks for the quick response.
Yeah, I know that ActiveSync belongs to M$. I was just reading this article and thought a deal was made by this point....http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=534.
So, I can fire up safari on the iPhone and view email from Exchange Server 2003 - view/edit/send messages also (how about attachments)? I don't need 2007 to do this?
Again, thanks for your time and answers.

  • Error when attaching files from SharePoint library to an Outlook email?

I've got a user who's reporting that recently she started getting en error whenever she tries to attach a file from a SharePoint library to an Outlook email.
When she either drags from the library in Windows Explorer, she receives this:
When uses Attach File via Outlook and navigates to the library, she receives this:
If the file is checked out, or if require check out is disabled, then it attaches.
Anyone know why this might have started happening?  I'm assured it has historically been working for the past couple years.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    :)Ben

Thanks for your reply:)!  Mine's below:
    > Whether other users meet this issue
Yes, it's happening regardless of user.
    > Whether other files also have this issue when the user tries to attachment these files to outlook.
Yes, it's happening regardless which file is tested.
    > Please check whether the problematic file was checked out by another user. And Please attach a file without Check-out to outlook, compare the result.
It happens consistently when someone tries to attach a file that is
not checked out.  If a file is checked out (regardless of who it's checked out to), then it attaches to an Outlook email without error.
    > In addition, please check ULS log file to check whether there are some errors about this issue. The path of the log file is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS.
Nothing jumped out in the logs.  I pasted them below FWIW, but nothing jumped out at me.
    Thanks again for any suggestions!
    :)Ben

  • I keep receiving an error message when I try to send an adobe document through Outlook email.

I keep receiving an error message when I try to send an adobe document through Outlook email.
The message is : Either there is not default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
I have checked everywhere on my system and changed Microsoft Outlook as the default mail program but nothing is helping. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am having the same issue, just replied to a different post on the issue.  I am running Acrobat X Pro with Win 7 Pro 64-bit.  This is a new PC, but my last PC was a 32-bit OS and I didn't have this issue.  I was suspecting that it is due to the 64-bit OS.
Reading this post though, I am starting to wonder if there isn't something else going on.  When I go to Edit>Preferences, I don't have anything related to email under Categories, or even within any of the categories listed.  I am I missing a plug in or something?  Or is this a component of a previous version of Acrobat?
I tried to attach a screenshot of the error message but getting a new error while trying to attach!  File is only 25kb!  Will have to live without i guess.

  • Acrobat 9, problem with Outlook email

i just installed acrobat 9 standard.  since then i can't cut copy, highlight and paste, or navigate around, in outlook emails.  i use outook email with ACT!
i can't edit emails i want to forward, taking out unnecessary info.
any ideas on how to solve this?
    thanks

Sorry that it is not quite what you might have been looking for since you liked to use WORD as your editor. Let me give you a perspective to hopefully feel better. I turn off a lot of fancy view features in my e-mail. I am looking for the text information and tend to delete a lot of fancy e-mail. Thus, someone like me likes e-mail to be simple and to the point. Of course, I can go on and on about things too, but when I came into e-mail 25 yrs ago or so, the idea was to save time and paper.
Glad you resolved your issue anyway.

  • How do i migrate outlook email .pst files

Just switched from pc to mac. I need to migrate my .pst outlook email files to mail in mac.
    how do I do that?

The simplest way is to open a MobileMe or Google Apps account and sync the info across the divide.
Almost as simple is LittleMachines O2M which will convert the pst into files that iCal/Address Book and Mail can read.
If you are looking for a free solution, have plenty of time and a tolerance for frustration you can try exporting Outlooks contacts to a txt file, then use one of the free converters to get it into Mbox format and import that into mail, for calendars there are some utilities that claim to be able to do the same for iCal but I have never seen one of them actually work without creating more work tidying up. Emailchemy will move the mail to MacMail very well (but it's not free, cheap)
Unless you know what you are doing and have time and patience to spare choose option 1 (sync) or 2 (O2M), I have tried the free way and am glad that I do not own a firearm.
PS: if your email is Imap or Exchange but not POP it will not need to be exported/imported, connecting to the account will bring it back 'as-was'

My email links fail to open Firefox 11. They used to last week but IE updated and now links in my outlook emails do not open Firefox 11 even though it's my default browser. When I change to IE as the default the links open IE.
Your assumptions about my browser, operating system and others are correct.
    VERY FRUSTRATING. HELP, Please

    Hi,
Please also try this: Windows Control Panel > '''Default Programs''' > '''Associate a file type or protocol with a program''' > look for '''.url''' > '''Change program''' to Firefox.
edit: You have to restart Outlook or sometimes reboot the system for the change to take effect. Thanks AUnderhill.

  • Email Portfolio Missing Date Information

I am trying to create an Email portfolio using Acrobat 9.0 Professional.  The Send Date and Receive Date on the email in Outlook are different, because the emails have been restored from an archive system.
The Send Date is the original email Date.  The Receive Date is the "restored date".  When making the portfolio, only the receive date comes into the portfolio.  How can this be Adjusted so that both dates come into the portfolio?

  • Can I associate an Outlook email using OEI to an Opportunity?

Can I associate an Outlook email using OEI to an Opportunity that is associated to the Account the Contact is related to without having first added that Contact to the Opportunity. It would be perfect if OEI returned a list of all Opportunities under the related Account and you could choose the appropriate Opportunity. Thanks

Well, I answered my own question just by taking a closer look at my options. You can search for Opportunities by 'Name'.

  • Email portfolios

We updated from Acrobat X to XI (both standard).  We use the email portfolio feature on a daily basis.  In X standard I was able to scroll the top portion listing the emails, but after we upgraded it will no longer scroll.  I have to use the side bar to scroll.  The lower portion that shows the body of the email will still scroll.  Is this feature gone in XI or is it a setting I need to adjust?

The portfolios are not linked to your Outlook. After you create the original PDF portfolio, subsequent changes to those emails are not captured in the existing portfolio.

  • Nokia icon and cannot access outlook email

I have a nokia icon and cannot access outlook email through verizon cellular service but can access when connected to wi fi. I purchased the phone on June 15, 2014 and it worked fine until yesterday evening, July 29th when the verizon cellular stopped syncing with outlook on company server.

Sometimes Windows Phone gets stuck in getting data via WiFi when there is no WiFi and won't switch back to data.
I used to have that problem in 8.0 with 8.1 it went away.   Don't forget to mark your question answered

I am talking about the icon on the docking row, that's the guy with the smily face. When you click on him it brings up a bunch of files of what I seem to have store/created on my Imac. There are hundreds of emails and some other documents. I tried to delete a few of them when I first got the MS office but it did not like that, it said it have to rebuild oulook. Why cant i delete these files? is this Apple version of Window outlook PST files?
These file extenssions are listed as
olk14_message or even or ccontact. I wish I could send a screen print but I dont see that on the key board. Maybe I should have stuck with windows..
Oh the ...olk14_message's.  Do not delete them behind Outlooks back, i.e., from the finder.  Those are the various messages that you sent, received, or deleted in Outlook.  They are indexed by Outlook so if you delete behind Outlook's back Outlook will get confused trying to access those messages.
You can delete them however using Outlook itself.  In outlook select a mailbox (Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc.) by clicking on the mailbox on the left.  It will show you the messages in that mailbox.  You can now select all or selected items in that mailbox.  The click the Edit menu and select Delete.  You will get a dialog asking if you really want to delete the selections.  Answer "Delete" and the messages will get deleted.
The olk14_message's you are seeing are the actual messages shown the Outlook mail boxes.  When you actually delete them the way I just described the corresponding olk14_message files will also be deleted.
Note Outlook's Deleted Items mailbox is where all deleted messages go when you click the Delete tool in the Outlook toolbar.   Thus using the Delete tool from the toolbar does not permanently delete the messages.  So if you been using that for months or years you are going to have a very large Deleted Items mailbox.  And every one of those items in there is going to have a corresponding olk14_message file for that message.
So if those olk14_message files you are seeing are from the Deleted Items mailbox you can get rid of all those corresponding olk14_message files by selecting all the messages in Deleted Items and using the Edit menu's Delete.
Alternative ways to the Edit/Delete to do the permanent delete is select (all) the messages to delete and control (right) click to bring up the Outlook contextual menu and select Delete from it.
Finally if you use the Delete tool in the toolbar for messages selected in the Deleted Items mailbox you will be able to permanently delete those too.  It's an exception since using the tool on the Deleted Items means there's no place to put those messages except to "oblivion".
So, in summary, using the Delete tool in the toolbar on messages in every mailbox except the Deleted Items mailbox just moves messages to the Deleted Items mailbox.  But using the Delete tool on items in them Deleted Items mailbox permanently deletes the selected items in there.  And only permanently deleting items removes the corresponding actual ...olk14_message files.
