Editing Audio from PP CS4 in Soundbooth coming back out of sync.

After cleaning up audio from PP CS4 using the "edit in Soundbooth" option. The audio comes back out of sync. How do I solve this?
thanks!

I am sorry for the confusion. When putting the playhead in the middle, the instrumental sounds as if somebody has slid it to the right. No, it does not start early and end late. It (the instrumental) is just at a later part of the song no matter where I put the playhead. For example, I put the playhead at a certain point of the song, and at that point the instrumental is sounding a part of the track located at an earlier location of the song (maybe a second or 2). There is no change in pitch...the instrumental sounds the same...it is just at the wrong location every time I put the playhead anywhere but the beginning of the song.

  • Audio drops and comes back out of sync but dvd preview ok

    hi All,
i put some photos and videos together in idvd project. The used one of their standard sound tracks to give the background music. The preview looked great so i burned the dvd but to my surprise when a particular video played around 8 min into the dvd the audio dropped and came about a min later with other photos getting it totally out of sync. I have tried removing few photos before that video comes to shift the video's location, there is a minor effect, it playes the clips audio in sync for slightly a sec or two longer but then drops and come back out of sync when it is showing still photos.
    thanks in advance.

We have heard nothing about any changes in Encore for CC. I would be very surprised if anything fundamental, like the preview engine, has changed. We really don't know what is still the old sonic authorcore, what may have changed but is still sonic, and what is Adobe created. I have always assumed the preview is sonic.
Is the audio sync issue Bluray only, H.264 bluray only, or any particular audio formats? I don't recall getting the issue in Encore DVD playback.

  • Editing Audio from Timeline in Another Program

Often, one will want to edit the Audio on the Timeline, in another application, like Adobe Audition. Premiere versions allow for this to be done easily, and with exacting control.
Let's say that one has dozens of edited Clips on the Timeline, and they wish to edit ALL of the Audio. * Editing those individual Clips is easy, but how does one edit them all in one file, which will then replace the original Audio in the Clips?
The best way to accomplish this is to Export, or Share the Timeline as an Audio Only file. This Export/Share will be slightly different, depending on the exact Premiere program, and even on the version of that Premiere Program. Often, the Audio-only Export/Share is from the MS AVI Export/Share screen. One would choose Export Audio, leaving Export Video unchecked. If Multiplexing does not automatically set to "None," choose that now.
For this "round-trip" process, the Audio file format is very important. The ideal choice of Export/Share is PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. This will yield an uncompressed Audio file, that almost every Audio editing program will easily handle, and is also the format, that one will want to Export, or Save from the Audio editor, for the second leg of our round-trip.
Import, or Open that resultant PCM/WAV in the Audio editing program, and edit, as is needed. When done, just Export, or Save (depends on the program) that edited Audio as a PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. In some Audio editing programs, this will be listed as WAV (Uncompressed). The Sample-Rate and Bit-Depth are important, as the 48KHz and 16-bit are the ideal for any flavor of Premiere, and though Conforming will be necessary for editing, it will be easy on the program, and there will be no issues. Stay away from any compressed Audio formats/CODEC's, like MPEG/MP3. You do not want to throw away precious data at any step. That is why we use PCM/WAV for the Export/Share, and then the Export/Save from the Audio editing program.
When done, just Import that resultant PCM/WAV into Premiere. Wait a moment for all Conforming to complete, and then drag that WAV to the Timeline, on a free Audio Track that matches your WAV's Channel-count, i.e. a 2-channel Audio Track for Stereo, or a 1-channel Audio Track for Mono (these must match in Premiere). For more detail on channel-count and Audio Tracks, see this ARTICLE.
Now comes a personal preference for completing this round-trip. I like to leave my original Audio, just in case I change my mind. Gathering up and Trimming the original Audio can be a tedious task. As I have placed my edited WAV onto an empty Audio Track, I just go to Window>Audio Mixer, and Mute any/all Audio Tracks, containing my original Audio. It's still there, if I ever need it, but is now Muted.
    Hope that this helps,
    Hunt
    * Sometimes we want part of the Timeline's Audio, but that part spans multiple Clips. There is no need to Export/Share the entire Timeline, and then Trim it. Just set the WAB (Work Area Bar) to the part that we do want, and make sure to choose "Work Area" in the Export/Share settings dialog.
Also, and especially when doing just a segment, covered by the WAB, I like to position the CTI (Current Time Indicator) or Playhead (CS 5.5) at the beginning of the WAB, with Snap ON. As I drag my edited WAV to the free Audio Track, it will Snap into place, right at the beginning of the WAB.

There isn't any simply way to where you want to go.
You can export each track separately. Switch off the audibility for all the tracks except one. Export the track. Repeat for each of the tracks in the timeline. Export the video for reference.

  • Editing Audio from Footage

I want to edit some audio from some video footage. Under the process menu in Sountrack Pro which items should I pay attention for refining the audio qaulity.
The audio basically sounds fine, but I want to make sure it meets industry benchmarks for audio qaulity.

    Hey,
Just an alternative suggestion consider moving up to at least Tiger 10.4.3, it increaes the speed on STP by a ton, it goes with a PROAPP-Runtime 3.1, that helped me considerably for taking the time to apply heavy filters like Space Designer.
Basically all you have to do with dialogue is compensate the EQ lacks, where there's a drop in high pitch volume for instance add some high EQ like the AU graphic 10 band, 8khz. You don't need much more than that just remember that dialogue centers between about 4hz and 8khz, so don't worry about anything higher, you can even run a lowpass filter, and use the cutoff at around the highest frequency of dialogue, 8-10khz, to compare for music it would be about 20khz.

  • Transfer edited photos from iPhoto app on my iPad back to the iMac

    Dear all,
I've edited some photos on my ipad using the iPhoto app and I would like to have them transferred back to my iMac.  Can anyone please show me the required steps?  Thanks.
Note: I've tried plugging in my ipad to my iMac and opened iPhoto on my iMac but it seemd like I could only transfer non-edited photos from the iPad.
    Million Thanks,
    TMK

Turn on PhotoStream on your iPad and in iPhoto on your Mac. They will sync to your Mac.
    iPad - Settings > iCloud > photoStream = on.
    Mac > iPhoto > preferences > PhotoStream > enable

  • Can not delete Fox news icon from Safari Favorites Bar, keeps coming back

I can not delete "Fox news" icon from Safari Favorites Bar. Dogpile Search engine also.  Both keep coming back with icons upon new opening of Safari.
I have removed these icons from the Book Mark files and Favorites Bar menu and any reference in the LIbrary and replaced them with less spammy evercookie news and search engines 3 times to no avail.  I just upgraded Safari (April 2014) and it made no difference. These sites represent the paradigm I
no longer am putting energy into nor want which is why I have rid these increasing more corrupted and cookie agressive sites.  But now.....
they won't let me go!!  Any one no how?

Thank you for trying but no not the problem.  Had the same problem with Iphone 4S.  Would not connect to my mail server and tried to send me to fraudulent website in the UK/England.
I did a restore to factory restore to the phone with upgrade to newest operating system, my was up to date until OS 7 as I heard there were problems.  Now it has OS 7.
Neither I nor verizon could get the phone up and connected for service again.  Taking phone to
    apple store on Tues.
I am suspecting the "heart bleed"  vulnerability.

  • Import from iMovie 5 to 6: Now sound out of sync

I'd been editing short films in iMovie 5.
Today I bought iLife 6, hoping for improvements. In the first iMovie (from v5) I opened, the sound is slightly out of sync with the image.
    This is a major problem.
I'm an actor putting together clips for my reel of TV & film work. Obviously, the result has to be as impressive as the sources allow.
Please advise. I dare not use iMovie 6 until this is fixed.

    matt,
    Thanks for your comment.
In this clip, original is from a DVD (Columbia Student film). I've been using a ADVC100 to transfer to computer file. No problems with sound sync in iMovie pre-5 or 5.
I can start from scratch in iMovie 6 if I absolutely must, but I've got other clips edited in v5, and I've spent too much time with these to risk the sync issue.
In any case, the audio seems a major bug in v6.

  • Audio randomly playus back out of sync

One of the FCPs at a place I work at has a strange audio sync problem.
It's an 8-core MacPro running the latest versions of FCP and Snow Leopard. It has a Kona LHe card with the latest firmware. Editing is done using IMX50 codec, SD PAL. Monitoring is done on an external monitor and speakers via the AJA card.
All is ok until you turn on audio scrubbing, after which the audio rendomly goes out of sync, stopping and starting will sometimes play back in sync. Monitoring via the Mac's internal speakers is always in sync, and the video is always playing back ok (the Mac screen and the external screen are always in sync (cuts occur at the same time on both screens).
Laying to tape and exported Quicktimes are always in sync.
I'm guessing it's some kind of AJA issue, has anyone any thoughts?
    Cheers
    Steve

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, m
See if any of the suggestions offered here reduce your sync quality problem enough:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7089133&#7089133
If, after making certain that your Mac is running well, has plenty of free space on the correct drive, etc., your sync is still not close enough, you can manually re-sync any parts that are unacceptable to you using either QT Pro or iMovie.
If you check carefully, you will see that not even pro video is always perfectly synced. It is a lot of work to get things "nearly perfect," but, with a bit of practice, it doesn't take long to get things "close enough" for me.
I use the same simple process with either QT Pro or iMovie, so you can use whichever you find easiest. Whichever you use, keep the original AV clip safe and *_work on a copy_* in case something goes wrong.
If you do not already know how, here is my process, but you can adjust for your workflow:
    (1) Copy of the audio track.
    (2) Add the audio track copy to the AV file.
    (3) Silence the original audio and work on audio copy.
    (4) Insert small blank audio clips (or split and slide if using iMovie) if needed to make the audio later.
    (5) Cut small bits out of quiet parts (or split and shorten in iMovie) if needed to make audio sooner.
    (6) Repeat until satisfied and delete any tracks no longer needed.
    (7) Save the adjusted AV file.
    (8) Enjoy!

  • Photos Disappearing and Coming Back Out of Sort!

Hello...Please read this box carefully and help me anyway you can:
Some hours ago I was doing some changes in my settings and then when I lunched Photos, suddenly I saw all my photos have DISAPPEARED!!! I paniced! those photos mean a lot to me! I've recorded my best moments in this device! then after a minute I saw a word "Restoring..."
I became happy that everything is going back to normal but I saw only some of my pictures and videos in Camera Roll are coming back WITHOUT ANY ORDER! Every Pic that was in this App, was following one of my nice memories one by one but now they're somehow all GONE! Also my handmade Albums are all gone too! I don't know what to do. I just want my photos back in the sort they were! Plus, I have no backups on iTunes or iCloud...
    Waiting for your help, Thanks...

Thanks I'll have another go at that then...think there might be a <base> tag in there somewhere confusing things a little.
By the way, have you had a problem when making the first switch to https, after the cert is accepted it hangs on my setup and will only continue if you refresh the page...
    Thanks again.

  • PROBLEM EDITING AUDIO BETWEEN PREMIERE CS4 AND AU OR SB

I have a problem editing my audio files in audition or soundboth, when I return to premiere after have edited the file in AU or SB, I can't see the wave in premiere but I can hear the audio.
I have to rebote premiere to see the wave.
    What could be happening?
    could you help me, please?
Excuse me for my english, I speak spanish.

What are your exact steps to edit in SB or AU? Do you first Rt-click on the Audio Clip and choose Edit in SoundBooth (or Audition)? Do you Render and Replace (basically what happens with the previous method), and then Open that resulting file in SB, or AU?
From SB, or AU, how do you Save your file - exact steps please?
    Good luck,

  • Moving edited audio from iMovie to iDVD?

I'm running iMovie HD 5.0.2 and iDVD 5.0.1. I've been taking some old programs off my Tivo, editing out commercials and burning them to DVD.
Everything has been running pretty well (though, of course, there are thousands of features of the programs which I'm not using and of which I'm probably unaware), but I recently had a problem that I can't figure out.
I did search through these discussions and found the answer to a problem I had: I couldn't figure out why several edited twenty-five to thirty second clips created from longer ones (copy and paste), when pasted into iDVD drop zones only played from the beginning of the original seven minute clip. Then, as I said, I found that I needed to Share them in iMovie HD as QT files and then use the Import function of iDVD. This worked fine.
However, I can't figure out how to do the same thing with audio only. When I edit the audio to a shortened 25-30 second sound clip which I want to drag into iDVD for a menu soundtrack, it takes the entire seven minute long audio track.
So, if I need to do a Share, how do I extract just the audio. Whenever I try it, it takes the whole thing. Dragging and Dropping does the same.
Is this even possible in iMovie HD? Can it be used to edit and then save an audio clip as an aiff or mp3 file?
Would someone know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you.

When you share, select Quicktime, then choose 'expert settings'. Then from that menu choose 'audio only to aiff'.

  • I edited audio from a clip in logic. when putting both back together in FCE it is out of sync.

    Hi there,
i am more of a logic user than a FCE user. so i had a clip recorded at a friends in 720p (1280x720).
the audio codec used was 24-bit integer (little indian), stereo at 44,1k
the video one was: apple openDML JPEG, 1280x720
since i am used to the logic audio environment i decided to edit the audio in logic.
but now when putting it into FCE the clip is shorter than the video clip and starts to run away from the video. after a while its totally desynced.
i tried to edit the audio in logic in a 48k session and 44,1k,. bounced it 24bit and 16 bit and i feel i tried everything that come to my mind but nothing worked.
so right now i am really needy for any kind of idea that might work.
i hope i described the process of what i have been doing sufficiently and have given enough information (FCE 4.0, Logic Pro)
excuse my poor english, i am not used to writing anymore.
i hope someone takes the time and there is a possibility to fix this without editing the audio in FCE.
    cheers and thanks in advance

well.... i had some problems when i exported the video and audio toghether. could not get the resolution right. so i changed the sequence settings to apple intermediate codec 720p30.
thing is this seems to work with audio 48k but the source file just got 44,1k.
before grasping the fit to fill feature, i got to check what that means.
thanks a lot for your help already
do i need to export the project in 48k audio maybe before i can use logic the edit the audio?

  • Quality issue with importing edited audio from Adobe Audition CS6 to Articulate 09

I have edited an audio file using Adobe Audition CS6 and the playback sounds fine. I then import the edited file into Articulate'09 and the audio sounds horrible, very tinny and not useable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I have tried saving the audio files as mp3 and wav to see if that would help and it did not make a difference.

I checked - it certainly supports both formats, but you'd have to be a lot more specific about what's wrong, because 'sounds horrible' doesn't convey anything meaningful at all, I'm afraid. And we have no idea of the format you are using - it's very possible that if it's being resampled on the way in by the operating system. If that's the case you have to find out specifically what formats (in terms of bit depth and sample rate) that this software actually supports.
Bottom line is that I'm afraid that this isn't very likely to be an Audition problem at all - you may get a more detailed and meaningful response from Articulate themselves.

  • Editing audio from one project to another

I'm trying to build a DVD project of different musical performances in Final Cut Pro X. The Mac I'm working with crashes every 30 minutes regardless of what I'm doing so, instead of building a monstrous timeline with two hours worth of performances on it (which will never save given the crash issues), I'm trying to build it by each song (4-6 minutes each).
The format is: opening billboard (with performer and song listed) --> fade into performance --> performance --> fade out of performance. If I were fading the audio out after each song, it would be simple but I'm trying to keep some of the audience track going under the next billboard so it blends better. I can't seem to cut the audio at the end of the fade out and apply it to the next song without continuing to build onto the same timeline which, due to the crash issues, doesn't help me.
Is there an audio work around that I'm missing? All I want to do is fade the audio a little past the fade effect, copy it and apply it to the beginning of the next song. Anyone?

Just ran into the same problem myself... while I get you CAN export the audio, then import it and use anyway you like I don't think that is the point of the original poster's question.
The voice-over clip has unique properties and as such I (and it looks like other users) would like to be able to "copy & paste" a voice-over clip from one project to another. Alternatively if I could drag and drop the voice-over clip into my Event that would be great too. Doesn't seem like an unreasonable request. Right now the famed Apple ease-of-use is missing for those of us who have recorded voice over elements we want to use in more than one project.
Had I known iMove would not allow sharing of voice over clips within iMovie I would have recorded my voice-over clips in another application and imported them all as audio-clips. Which certainly defeats the point of the inclusion of voice-over in iMovie.
Any solutions that work within the app without an export/import required?

  • Editing audio from a FCP sequence

I have just finished editing a long sequence in FCP and now want to get rid of a background audio hum in the background of all the clips. What is the easiest way to export all my small audio clips into STP, remove the hum, then re-import into FCP.
I'm totally new to STP and finding the workflow very confusing.
    Thanks!

RIght-click on the sequence in the assets window (default is Sequence 1, unless you changed the name) and click on send to>soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project
