Editing BPMed loops in STP 1.1

I need to edit down loops of audio at specific BPMs using STP 1.1. I've got a BPM calculator, so I know that, for example, when I need two bars of this 124 BPM piece, it should be 3.87 seconds. Is there a way to set a time duration like this in STP, so I'll only have to identify the start point, and STP will calculate the end point? It's just kind of a pain having to click-and-drag for a bunch of loops.

Unable to edit this loop because it's an APPLE loop.
while editing a WAV ( which is not capable of being an Apple Loop ) something is odd... what edit are you trying to make?

Logic will not let me edit Apple Loops in the Audio Window. Any ideas?

When I select a blue apple loop and put it in an audio track it works perfectly but when I go to the audio window it will not let me edit the Apple Loop. A window pops up and says "The requested action can not be performed because the edited file is an Apple Loop." In the manual it says that both green and blue Apple loops can be edited but every time I try to edit an Apple Loop that window pops up. It only does this for apple loops. What can I do.

Hi there, this is because you cannot edit apple loops, other than cutting blue loops witht he scissors. If you want to edit/alter loops bounce them down to audio files, then you can do pretty much anything..

Editing graphic loops in Final Cut express HD ?

Hello guys
I'm planning to purchase final cut express.
Besides the fact that I want to use FCE HD for "hobby style" video editing and also take an advantage of soundtrack pro - main reason for purchasing it is that I want to use it for editing graphic and backgrounds loops for the web .
Basically I would like to import graphic loops ( mostly from companies like "MOTION LOOPS" or DIGITAL JUICE" ) then edit them, add some titles with live type , music and then convert them to flash and post it on the web.
So my main my question is ? Does anybody has experience with editing graphic loops or backgrounds in Final cut express or should I rather get some other application for that?
I would appreciate any answers .

One point, FCE does not come with Soundtrack Pro. Only with the original Soundtrack, now in v1.5.
In what edit them, they're movie loops, if you edit the content they won't be loops any more. If you mean edit them in size for banner ads, then FCE is can do that on export but you're going from a heavily compressed PAL(?) format to something very different. The results may not be as good as you expect. You cannot crop the size of the image in FCE because it is a fixed resolution application. You can't for instance make a 60x800 pixel shape to make a banner ad into Flash. You need a resolution independent application to do that like Final Cut Studio.

Yes. The deeper I go into the tutorial the better it is. There is as much on sound editing directly in FCP as in STP which is a refreshing approach. I always enjoy tutorials by Michael Wohl.

Editing While Loop Conditions hangs JDeveloper 10.1.3

Hi Guys,
Having a strange problem when I tried to edit the condition in a while loop after it was created and set first time. The IDE just hanged when I tried to open the expression builder and after a while, nothing happened, the expression builder didn't show up.
I went and deleted the condition by editing the source, basically made condition from:

Switched back to graphics mode, the expression builder opens up normally.
I understand that we are evaluation a Developers Preview, so just wanted to bring this to the notice of the developers.

Editing IMPORTED loops.. Help?!

Hi! Does anyone know if it's possible to alter the pitch of IMPORTED loops? Doesn't work using the Master Track editor in the usual way... Help!?

By 'imported loops' I mean loops purchased from websites (or iTunes) rather than the standard Garageband loops. I do use the pitch slider on the left hand window - That is found under Show Master Track? Unless there is something else that I'm missing. I have no problen altering the pitch of a loop in this way, only loops that are imported from elsewhere. (When you 'Add loop to library' under the EDIT tab, having dragged that loop from your itunes.) I'm thinking some sort of pitch changing plug in may be the only way....

Fabricpath N5500-leaf / N7000-spine CE STP connect creating loop

Hi!
Having issues with connecting a CE STP network redundantly to our FabricPath domain.
we have 2 N7K as spine and 4 N5K as leaf nodes.
all leaf nodes are connected to both spine switches with fabricpath ports.
the 4 leafe nodes are devided in 2 vpc pairs.
all N5K's have the same spanning-tree priority for all Fabric path VLANS.
spanning-tree ID is not configured, that is default configuration. (not sure if this is required)
Problem:
connecting an existing stp CE network redundantly to each of the vpc pairs creates bridging loop.
this stp CE network runs PVST N5K's run RPVST.
Info:
When connected only to the second pair of VPC N5K's, the CE switch does not update stp with that pair as root, even though it has lower pri number that any of the CE switches and it is receiving bpdu's on the port-channel connected to the N5K's.
When connected only to the first pair of VPC N5K's, the CE switch updates stp with that pair as root.
This should work, as the config is identical om both vpc pairs.
Any clues on what could be wrong?
Is there a config guide or whitepaper that describes this particular setup? seems like it should be a common setup with location redundancy for datacenters and existing CE networks.

Found the bug:
CSCtx41358 Fabricpath: BPDUs not sent out vPC secondary upon link failure.
The link in the primary vpc switch was down in the port-channel and the switches has old software.
Upgrading the switches is the solution.

Apple Loops and the Loop Browser

maybe I'm missing something here, but whenever I save an edited audio file (or loop) with Apple Loops I can never seem to find the same file in the Loop Browser.
(unless that is how the app is suppose to behave ...)
I assumed the Loop Browser behaves somewhat like Logic's Project Manager, referencing and finding files that are associated with Logic Sessions.
Long story shot, how can i save my edited Apple Loop files and still find them using the Loop Browser

Does anyone use MIDI loops in Logic Pro to compose music?

Seriously, if anyone out there uses the MIDI loops to compose music in Logic, how the heck do you do it? Especially if you are also using audio loops, it seems almost impossible to me. The chord transpositions that you get from the chord track are not even to the right pitch, and the transposition behavior is different according to whether you drag the loops into the arrange area before or after putting the changes in the Chord track. The signature track is no better, as it doesn't seem to affect audio loops. So how do you get the bass loops etc. to play in the keys you want them to without going through extraordinary contortions? I looked at one of the Logic Pro books, and it said to transpose by using the transpose function in the inspector, but that only lets you transpose by octaves! Do you really go in and edit the loops by hand to transpose each note?
Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated.

Put the mouse pointer on top of the transpose number, which is zero, hold down the left mouse button and drag up or down to transpose by steps. At the beginning of either the getting started or Logic manual there's an explanation of the different types of mouse/key behavior, if you're not used to using Logic it's a good idea to go over these.
Also, Logic does not always use simplified Mac conventions (thank the stars for that), as a result you have a lot more variety of data input, it varies according to the task at hand.

Can't import loops into LPX that import fine into Logic 9

Hi all,
I'm new to posting to the forum but have learned a great deal from browsing it over the last few years. I've got a question that I've scanned the forum for but can't seem to find an answer to. My problem is this: I've got loops that will import fine into the loop library in Logic 9 but absolutely will not show up in Logic Pro X (10.0.4). I'm running OSX 10.6.8 on a late 2013 MBP (15", 16GB RAM, 512SSD).
These are loop collections that I've purchased from a couple of different reputable companies. Some are in .wav format, others .aiff. I've tried reindexing the loop library, editing the loops individually and as a group in ALU to make sure that they're listed as loops and have the proper collection and naming parameters (all do), etc... Nothing seems to be working. I just drag and drop the folder in LP9 and it works great, but when I try to do the same in LPX, nothing happens.
I'm running my loops through an external harddrive (with an alias on a local folder pointing to the external hard drive), but even when I try to store loops locally it doesn't make a difference.
Does anyone have any ideas/tips? Has anyone else heard of anything like this? For what it's worth, I have just shy of 40,000 loops in LPX (and nearly 50,000 in LP9)... not sure if there's a limit, but it wouldn't make sense that a previous version would allow more loops.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Logic Pro X is not compatible with 10.6.8 so how did you download/install it?
LPX requires a minimum of 10.8.4 to download/install correctly.....
This may be the cause of your issue......

Making cells editable in a dynamic ALV

I have a dynamic table which I am displaying as an ALV.

In the table <t_itab>, there is a checkbox, one fixed column and the others dynamic. Along with the normal columns, there is also a table of type lvc_s_styl.
My requirement is that, after my ALV grid is displayed, when I click on the Edit button(toolbar), for the rows where the checkbox is checked, the dynamic columns should become editable.
    loop at <t_itab> assigning <wa_itab>.
      assign component 'STYLE' of structure <wa_itab> to <fs_table>.
      lt_style = <fs_table>.
         Here I have made changes to the STYLE table for the necessary fields for the required rows and then called the methods:
    call method ref_grid->set_ready_for_input
      exporting
        i_ready_for_input = c_1.
    call method ref_grid->refresh_table_display.
But, it does not work.
I have checked the forum and there are a number of posts on this issue. I have followed all the steps which are mentioned there.
Please help! Any suggestions are welcome

try using :
    ls_layo-stylefname = 'CELLTAB'. for layput
and then fill the cellstyle before calling the Fm for table display.
l_mode = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_enabled.
ls_celltab-fieldname = 'BUKRS'.
ls_celltab-style     = l_mode.
INSERT ls_celltab INTO TABLE pt_celltab.

How to Loop through another list and update a column with SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow

I am trying to get my head around the new 2013 Workflow Engine and SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow Text-Based Designer.
I have two lists.
List A has 2 columns: Title, Completed (Yes/No)
List B has 3 columns: Title, LookupListATitle, Completed (Yes/No)
All the 2013 Workflow components have been installed and configured and I am selecting the 2013 Workflow option in SPD
I am trying to set off a 2013 Workflow when an item in List A is edited to Loop through List B and select items where the LookupListATitle column's value is equal to the Title value of the current item, and set the value of the Completed column for those
items in ListB to "Yes".
I have the Workflow configured like this:
Stage: Stage 1
IF Current Item:Completed equals Yes
Loop: 1
The contents of this loop will run repeatedly while: ListB:LookupListATitle equals Current Item: Title
Update item in ListB.
(The dialog options for the update item action as follows:
List: ListB
Field: Completed, Value: Yes
In the Find the List Item section
Field: LookupListATitle
Value: Current Item: Title)
Transition to stage
Go to End of Workflow
When I update an item in ListA and set its Completed column to Yes, I would expect the Workflow to find all the items in List B where the Lookup column is equal to ListA's Title (there are 2) and update their Completed column to Yes. But it doesn't work.
When I look at the Workflow Status it says the Internal Status is "Canceled" and the information pop up has the following alien language (and may be truncated):

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to set up While Loops to iterate through a related list using SharePoint Designer 2013?

Hi,
I understand that you wanted to update the items in the other list (Participants) where the Course equals the Current Item.
You need to use “Call HTTP Web Service" action and “Build Dictionary" action to get the Maxid and then loop Participants to update the items.
You can follow the steps as below to achieve what you want:
Create a custom list named Courses, add columns: Title(Single line of text), Course ID(Single line of text), Course Finalised (Yes/No).
Create a custom list named Participants, add columns: Title(Single line of text), Course(Lookup), CourseFinalised (Yes/No).
Create workflow associated to Courses, start the workflow automatically when an item is created or changed.
Add conditions and actions:
The HTTP URL is set to
https://sitename/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('listname')/items?$orderby=Id%20desc and the HTTP method is set to “GET”. Then the list will be order by Id and desc.
Then if Course Finalised is equal to Yes, the CourseFinalised of the associated items in Participants will be updated to Yes.

Cannot find loops and comes up red

i have worked with ST before but when i opened STP all of the instrument names were in a red font.
I tried to search them again but then they wouldn't appear at all and the tabs went grey. I then tried the suggested solution of creating a new folder called Apple loops for STP but still nothing worked.
Does anyone know the solution because i have been looking through past discussions and no one seems to have the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Great question and the documentation doesn't seem to say much. I think what it means is that STP is aware of the loop; that is, there is some pointer or reference in the library, but the actual loop isn't available. I installed all my STP content to an external Firewire device. When its not plugged in, all my loops in the Browser come up red and right+clicking doesn't help at all. After plugging in the FW device and restarting STP, the loops come up black and can be accessed.

Importing and Editing AAC files

I am using Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2 and have imported a 5.1 channel .aac file. I am, however, unable to edit that file in STP. I can see all 5 channels but they are all greyed out, meaning I cannot individually do anything with those tracks. When I copy and paste them in a new file, I get all five channels in one channel (five separate sound files but all on one track).
Can anyone please help me how to edit each track separately?

OKay I attempted to open the .aac file by choosing 'All Files' option and first I encountered this Error Message:
Warning: the stream may have timecode breaks. Please use 'Fix Timecode Breaks' to fix this stream.
I chose 'Fix Now'
Afterwards it appeared the file was open in MPEGStreamclip though I still got the empty screen with five blue dots in the middle.
I then tried to 'Export Audio'
and chose AIFF as Format
However I got a second Error Message saying
Error: can't prepare the movie
One more thing, I want to be able to import all Five Channel and edit them individually and while trying to export audio in MPEGStreamclip I noticed that it was exporting file as two channel stereo file only.
Any suggestions on how I can do this?

Editing audio

Hi,
I'm new to Logic, trying to "import" my large audio editing skills from Pro Tools.
I'm editing an apple loop by slicing parts of it on the main arrange window, and when I try to transform it by gain change, for instance, I get a warning message saying "This Audio File can not be changed. Volume or file is locked."
How can I unlock it?
On the other hand, I'd like to apply this change to only a section I created by slicing the original large audio file, an apple loop. I'm not even sure this gain change, when I finally unlock it, will only affect the edited portion. The sample editor, does not recognize this section as a "new region". It still shows the big original audio file.
Finally, I tried to compress/expand, another slice from an apple loop, and I followed instructions from the manual (p. 525: How to adjust the region length to match the locator positions", but nothing happens.
Any advice?

Sounds like the permissions for the Apple loops are set to "read only".
Find the apple loops folder, hit Apple/I to open the info box. At the bottom, open the "Details" pane, set permissions to "Read & Write", as well as "apply to enclosed items", so that all the loops in the folder are set to "Read & write".
As for editing the loops, I would suggest first making a new copy of it, before doing any destructive editing. But yes, the example of gain change would happen only on the selected area within the sample edit window, even though the rest of the loops waveform is still visible outside that selected region.
Can't help with the time stretching... haven't used that at all myself yet.
