Editing downloaded pages

After connecting Dreamweaver CS4 to an existing remote site I downloaded a folder with the site files, but when I click a file in the local folder just downloaded, it shows up as gray in the display windows and I can't make any changes to it. How can I edit these files?

It's not necessarily Dreamweaver doing it. Microsoft Expression Web uses the same markup for its templating engine as Dreamweaver, even using the same .dwt filename extension. So, it's quite likely that Visual Web Developer does the same.
Open the file in an ordinary text editor (Notepad will do), and delete the following line:

Save the page, and then open it in Dreamweaver. You should then be able to edit it.

When I type on the address bar "w" it opens a download page with only a few sites. Some of the sites I would like to delete. How do I do this?

I highlight the page and hit delete. It will go away at that moment but as soon as I type "w" on a new search it will pull the download page with the supposed to be deleted address.

Do those websites have a yellow star at the far right?
If they have a yellow star then that are bookmarks. You can open such a bookmark in a tab and click the yellow star to open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and click the Remove button.

Editing ColdFusion Pages in Dreamwaever

I am trying to open, preview and edit CFM pages in DW 5. I have installed ColdFusion Developer editionon my computer, set up a site in DW and configured a local web server as per the DW Developer Center article: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_cf.html.
The problem is that when I open a ColdFusion page (CFM) and view the design, I get a "generic" looking page with no formatting, images, styles etc. I've gone through the process several times but to no avail. It's probably something simple that I've omitted. Any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions.
You have discovered a glaring shortcoming of the iWeb application--the non-ability to import html into the program.
iWeb is a generator that produces html upon publishing; everything the application draws upon to create html for your site is stored in a single file, Domain. This file lives in your computer here.
If this file is lost, as in your case, or corrupted, your ability to access and edit the sites that it contained is also lost. You cannot bring files back down from a server or folder into iWeb. Sorry for the bad news.
You will need to re-create your site. Copy and paste where possible from rendered pages in a browser, and consider linking back to the existing site from the new, as you rebuild. From now on, backup this file frequently using Varkgirl's automator application, free for download here.

Can't Edit this Page ..already editing on another computer

So, I was Editing a Page and went to Publish it, but it
couldn't Connect, so I hiit Cancel.
I tried again to Edit the page, when up pops this message in

Cannot download Business Catalyst even though it is listed on the CC download page.

Is Business Catalyst part of the Creative Cloud Collection? If so, then why can I not download it along with the other applications that are on the Creative Cloud Download page applications site that are downloadable.? I was told by an Adobe representive that this application was not part of the Creative Cloud collection but a part of the marketing collection. If this statement is accurate then why is it listed on the Adobe Creative Cloud download page where all of the other applications that belong to the Adobe Creative Cloud Collection are also listed and are downloadable.?

Unable to navigate to Download page

I am trying to download Oracle 9i personal edition and 9i forms/reports but I could not go to any of the download pages. The browser is hanging. Previously I downloaded many tools but I beleive there is some problem in Download Server/Database.

If you post the hardware ID for the Network Controller, I can give you the link to the wireless card.
Probably the only thing I can't get for you would be the graphics driver which is custom for your model and has to be gotten from that support page.
Here is how to find the hardware ID for the network controller (wireless card), and you can do that for any other device you need.
Find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

Something is blocking the download. Prabably because this is an exe file. There is a Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition installated, but I cannot find where the restriction is defined.
I am not that familiar with whether there is a some Windows configuration effecting this restriction
Also I am using Verizon FIOS, I do not suppose this is a source of the problem.

Cannot download Pages in iCloud as Word or PDF

I have been uploading Pages documents to iCloud for about a year and a half. (And before that, I used the iWork beta to upload docs to the cloud.)
I believe I used to be able to download Pages docs as Word/PDF files after opening them on my iOS device (either iPad or iPhone).
Now, I keep getting the option to download only as Pages. I have found that if I open the document on my iPad, make a change, after a minute or so, I can open it in all three formats on my laptop.
Is there a way to avoid having to re-edit every single document on my iPad that I might want to download eventually from the laptop? This is so frustrating, as I use iCloud as a way to store my teaching documents, and they don't all need to be edited. I just want to have access across all my machines and via the web. I'd like to be able to use a computer at school that only has Word, but this is impossible as it stands, as most of the documents that I've uploaded since the summer are not available.
Interestingly, this appears to only be a problem starting with this school year (September 2012 or thereabouts), as documents that I've uploaded in the past do appear to be available in all three formats. Things that I have uploaded certainly in 2013 are available only as Pages downloads, unless I have already edited them on my iPad.
Help? Please?

You can do this from icloud.com (using a web browser on a Mac or PC). iCloud.com will give you the choice to download a Pages document as a Pages, PDF or Word document.

HOWEVER, while I can download a word file on icloud as a word file, one of my Pages files can only come back as a Pages file. Perhaps the advice above is no longer appropriate given the changes on iCloud.

I totally agree with you and request Oracle to consider this. Well It will be nice if oracle publishes the new features, bugs fixed more clearly for each release or version...
Also patches downloaded from metalink doesnt mention any bugs or issues in the previous releases...
It helps us to convince the client to move to the new release or version.

Told to upgrade to 31.6 but download page gives me 31.5

I get a pop-up telling me TB 31.6 is available, with a link to the release notes:

Now, I'm a sophisticated user, and know how to copy a link into the locator bar and edit it, so I change the 5 to a 6 and get the 31.6 package. But your less-sophisticated user is going to be unpleasantly surprised.

I don't usually use that link; here in Linux my experience is that it either gets me a 32-bit edition (I need the 64-bit build), or runs afoul of the elevated privileges needed to update or install the program, so I generally go direct to the ftp download site:

If Premeire Pro is not listed in App Manager in CC for download then your system might be incompatible.
The App Manager only lists the softwares supported on your system configuration.
64 bit support is required for Premiere Pro.

Wrong file size on Linux download page

The problem has to do with the first file (lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz).
The stated size (553,607,967 bytes) is WRONG.
I have downloaded those 3 files more than a dozen times, getting
files of varying sizes. After several weeks, I finally had 3 files
with consistent sizes. However, the file #1 produces an error
message from gunzip (unexpected end of file).
If Oracle Corporation claims to be a technology- and Internet-savvy
company, they should know that the best way to avoid problems like
the above is:
- offering an FTP (i.e. TCP-based) download option
- including the corresponding MD5SUM next to each file.
Everybody else (well, probably not Microsoft) is doing this.
Why not Oracle?

I have problem because Premiere always use Mainconcept DV Pro codec when import file in my case.But I find solution:

I remove
ImporterMCDVCPRO file and now Premiere import avi files as MS-DV AVI.
Maybe this can help somebody else.

I agree with Jack. 60-70 degrees is no reason for overheating. In my opinion CPU temperature about 55 degrees is definitely fair average value. Little bit higher temperature is not so bad. CPU can work with higher temperatures.
I work on Toshiba Tecra M1 almost 4 years now and CPU temperature is ALWAYS between 60-75 degrees. Notebook runs well and quiet.
Ok to compare Tecra with your Satellite is not the best example.
Anyway overheating mostly ends with suddenly shutdown but I am afraid BSOD is shown because of some other reason.
When you have cleaned cooling fans last time?
Does this happen with factory settings too?
Have you tried to contact authorized service provider?
Does BSOD occurs when you start some certain application?
And so on.....

I think, Package ZBI_NEW is a custom development package: probably someone else already transported the application component hierarchy and assigned this package...try to change this. Chk with SE80 > package > ZBI_NEW,If it is not there,create it.
But the normal practice is change/Edit DSO in DEV-->Quality , then transport to Production.(SE80
In the drop down, look for Packages,below it type ZBI_* and hit Open.If you don't see ZBI_NEW, then ask BASIS to Create (DEV)and import that Package to QAS->Production)

After userA check out a page, edit the page and save, Sharepoint prompt userA have checked out the page

In one of site collection at our SP2013 farm, we have "SharePoint Server Publishing" site feature and "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" site collection feature activated.
One of user (UserA) create a page in a page library. The new page is marked as "checked out by UserA". It is fine.
Then UserA open the page -> edit page -> key in something and "save". Then the page prompt him "The file Pages/subfolder/test001.aspx has been modified by i:0#.w|test\userA on 8Aug2014 xx:xx:xx" and ask him to choose "Leave
this page" or "say at this page". The date time is exactly the time he was editing the page.
Whatever he choose will save the page and return to "View" mode (non-edit mode).
It is not the only problem. When userA want to edit the same page again and save, it prompt him that "The page could not be saved because your changes conflict with recent changes made by another user. If you continue, your changes will be lost."!
When userA choose continue or "check out". Follow screen show up:
What can we do? In summary, userA cannot edit a page because userA have checked out! We have tried for different users have exactly same issue.

We are having the same problem, the one thing we have found is if we use the Save Icon on the top right hand side of the page in the ribbon (next to follow), that Save works just fine. What is causing the issue is when trying to use the Save Icon on
the left hand side of the ribbon that has the dropdown options to 'Save', 'Save and Keep Editing' or 'Stop Editing'. It doesn't matter if you just click on the main Icon or choose any of the dropdown options, they all cause issues with the pages.
