Editing DVD Source. Is that possible?

Hi.
I author some big DVDs here, with a lot of menus, and most of the targets links are similar, changing just one letter or two.
With a lot of menus (sometimes 70), to find one to be linked in a target spend a lot of time. So I want to know if there is kind of project source editor, where I can just copy and paste texts from one button to another, like programing.
Someone knows a way to do that?

Possible to edit DVD created with iDVD, redux?

Created a DVD using iMovie then iDVD and burned. Didn't save original setup in iDVD. Would like to edit DVD and re-save as new DVD. Is this possible?

As Bengt says, you need to rip the content from the DVD disk to a new iMovie and then create a new iDVD project and burn a new disk from that. You can use Handbrake, MPEG Streamclip or Ripit to extract the video file from your DVD disk. Here are directions for doing so that I took from a post by AppleMan(Thanks, AM):
+I have found I get the best results when I use MPEG Streamclip (which is free). You also have to install the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component which costs about $20. Once you install the QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component, you don't have to interact with it, but MPEG Streamclip needs it.+
+Insert your DVD in your drive. If DVD player runs automatically, shut it down. You should see your DVD as an icon on the desktop. Open it in a finder winder. You should see a folder which has VOB files.+
+Open MPEG Streamclip and drag these VOB files into Streamclip. If it offers to fix timecode breaks, say yes. You can do the VOB files one by one if you want to deal with shorter clips. Or, you can drag all the VOB files at once and create one long clip, or use streamclip to separate them into smaller clips.+
+In Streamclip, select File/Export using Quicktime and choose Apple Intermediate Codec. You may want to check "Deinterlace" in this step. Try deinterlacing and see if you like it. It depends on your final target media as to whether this will help.+
+Now you should have MOV files in Apple Intermediate Codec which can be imported into iMovie.+

The error below makes absolutely no sense! I'm using Enterprise Core...yet I'm being told I can't use remote data sources:

According to your description, you are using Enterprise Core edition and you are prompted that you can’t use remote data sources.
In your scenario, we neither ignore your point nor be doubt with what you say. But actually we have met the case before that even though the SQL Server engine is Enterprise but the reporting services is still standard. So I would recommend you to find the
actual edition of reporting services you are using. You can find Reporting Services starting SKU in the Reporting Service logs ( default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<instance name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles). For more information,

Error message says it all.
With SQL Express, Data source should be local SQL DB.
With SQL Enterprise, Standard, BI edition, you can create Data soruce which are hosted on other servers.

NTSC DVD Sources Lag with 23.976fps Encode

I've never had this problem before with other DVD sources but for some reason in this particular project, from the two areas in this compilation that I made with the NTSC DVD-Video content, in the MainConcept h264 23.976fps @ 3000kbps render, the video has this lag/slow motion effect thing going on.. The content is imported with AVISynth. I've tried everything I can possibly think of: different export settings in the program, adjusting the properties of how the video is processed in the program, tampering with some DGIndex settings, and trying to fix it with different AVISynth code. Only thing that works is to actually export the video at 29.976 frames per second which.. ruins its quality. Anybody have ideas as to what the problem might be/how to fix this? Thanks.

Unless I didn't understand what you meant, then uh, yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get the content that "lags" to be like everything else that "doesn't lag" or just to be normal, if you will.. Besides quality wise, it shouldn't look any different than the source in terms of smoothness of like the motions or w/e.. I will upload three different encode examples of the same clip. If you want, I can also upload the original, but it'd be wrapped in an AVI container. And BTW, obviously aside from the desired framerate, I've tried every combination of settings here but the problem still remained.
The desired encode settings with 23.976fps framerate (VBR 2-Pass @ 3000kbps with 5000kbps maximum - 396p resolution - Main Profile, Level 4.1 - MP4 multiplexing with PSP/PS3 stream compatibility): http://www.filedropper.com/sequence1

Note how the encode from VirtualDubMod has much better quality (more of an effect from the AVISynth code), and how it doesn't have that lag effect.
*The only reason the VirtualDubMod encode is larger in size is because the audio is uncompressed.

SIMPLE QUESTION: LYNC 2010 -- AVAYA CS1000 DIRECT SIP: IS THAT POSSIBLE? PLEASE HELP!

I would like to ask really simple question here: is that possible to establish (configure, setup, create, make etc.) a direct SIP connection between LYNC 2010 and AVAYA CS1000 PBX. On one side I have Lync 2010 Standard Edition acting as Front-End Server
with co-located Mediation Server. On another side I have AVAYA CS1000 IP PBX Version 7.0. We are trying to make this happen for 1 full year with no luck. The issue is that we do not manage our PBX (external company does).
Here is what we are basically trying to achieve:
All I want is that basically LYNC user (phone # 5678) can dial PBX user (phone # 1234) and talk. Also PBX user can call LYNC user and they can talk. I'm pretty sure that all I'm asking is very simple thing. I don't expect magic to happen (e.g. when one user
calls another user the world will change). All I want is to be able to call between LYNC and PBX users so they can talk.
Sorry for repeating again but here is my simple question: can direct SIP (or call it SIP trunk if this is the right word) be established so LYNC and PBX users can call each other and talk. Whatever protocol is (G.711, G.722 etc.) I will be happy.
If you can let me know I would very much appreciate this. I'm sure I'm not alone in this world and many companies out there using AVAYA CS1000 and deployed LYNC and probably have the same question so it may be helpful to other people as well.

Hi Thamara for reply. I can see where you are going, but the challenge here is that I have found many threads including in this forums from people who successfully connected CS1000 PBX to Lync 2010 for two-way calling, and even dual-forking (which I cannot
even dream about at this time).

According to this document, only CS1000 version 7.5 supports Lync 2010 and only via ACE - starting first quarter of 2011 (which is done deal by now) - see below for details. The problem is that I have a hard time to understand the meaning of the word "Supported".
I do not really need full support, all I want is to be able to call in both directions using 2 distinct numbers (e.g. 4 digits extensions) that are configured in both systems.
Another thing is this ACE. Apparently it is a big monster software that you need to buy and pay big bucks and lots of configuration just to make it working. But I'm not even sure what will work. We do have one-way calling (from Lync to PBX) - it just does
not work other way, and I have no idea why. I'm not sure if this cannot be working, or because it was not setup right. As I mentioned before we have no access and clue about IP PBX - this is one of my issue here. Withoul knowledge how it works on PBX side
I cannot be sure what is causing this.
So I was wondering if anybody in this world was able to connect CS1000 PBX to Lync and perform two-way calling using two systems.

The portlet data can be accessible using bindings, but parameter name can be different.
Meanwhile I have got one more scenario, where the Portlet and Task Flow placed in different pages of WCP Application. On change of data in the Portlet the application should navigate to another page where the Task Flow placed and displays selected data.
Basically I can not use any button for navigation. The navigation should happen once I do some action in Portlet.
Is this possible? If yes can you please let me know the steps?

No it is not. Purchases are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased with.
However, if you want to change your Apple ID, and it is not an @me.com, @mac.com, or @iCloud.com email address, you can log on to Manage your Apple ID with your current ID and password, then click on the EDIT button next to the Apple ID. You can change it to any valid email address that is not an Apple domain email address (the @me, @mac, @icloud mentioned above):

If you want to open the source code in an editor of your choice you can change two hidden settings.
Type '''about:config''' into the location bar. Accept the warning message that pops up, this brings up a lot of settings. I want to create an "up to date" installation disk from my own one. So after installing the system shouldn't need to download any update. Is that possible? If so, how? Thanks.

I know how to make an installation disk without things that I won't use and that can be burnt in a single layer DVD. But I want to make one that would be up to date with all the updates that have been released until now included.
Is that possible? How do I download the updates? How do y include them in the DVD? I would be great if I don't have to isntall them manually after installing the macosx.
I think there should be two ways of doing so:
1.- Include the updates in the DVD and execute them after the system installation.
2.- That the installation itself were up to date.

I think what the OP is after is the idea of slipstreamed DVD including Snow Leopard *&* the latest combo updates. In the Windows world this is referred to as a slipstreamed install.
For example you could have the latest build of SL plus the latest combo update slipstreamed in and this should work flexibly across a number of platforms.
Unfortunately though I don't know if it's possible with OSX. It's a real time-saver in the Windows world though if you have a number of machines to deploy or if you're constantly building/assembling VMs for example.

Editing DVD files

I really don't know which program I can use to edit my wedding DVD. It's a Video_TS after all. The DVD begins with a poem, but the photographer made it rolls fast, so a viewer can't read it, unless he/she pauses it a few times.
So if iMovie does it, which file do I need to open, or I shall convert, so I can edit those 60 seconds of less, in other words slow down the screen play and then bring it back to normal and burn the improved version.

iDVD is an authoring program, not an editing program. To do edits on your videos, you will need to extract the video files from the DVD, put them into iMovie, edit and then create an iDVD project, put the edited iMovie into it and burn a new DVD disk from that new project.
You cannot just drag out the Video_TS file, you need to use some application to accomplish this, such as Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/

Boyd is correct. You cannot install your Mac OS MS Office to the iPad and there is no official MS Office app.
I am assuming you want to edit Office documents on youy iPad. There are three apps that I would recommend you looking at. Please note that no app is going to give you the same experience as a desktop app.
1) Documents To Go by Dataviz - This is the one I have used since my Palm days. You can edit Word, Excel and Power Point documents. There are two versions. The basic one ($9.99) allows you to edit Word and Excel documents. The Premium version ($16.99) allows you to edit Word, Excel and Power Point documents. It also allows you to use Google Docs, Dropbox, Box.net, iDisk and Sugarsync.
2) Quickoffice is another popular choice. ($14.99) I do not have personal experience with this one, but alot of people have said it is a good app.
3) The last one is Office^2 ($7.99 http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/id364361728?mt=8) Again I do not have personal experience with this one, but he has gotten some good reviews.
If you are want an app to just view your documents, I would highly recommend looking at Goodreader for iPad. It allows you to view many types of file. It will also allow you to annotate PDF documents.
