Editing Error Message

I am just getting started using the InContext Editing feature
of CS4. I set up a page last month briefly and everything worked
great. I turned my attention to it again tonight and when I attempt
to edit a page (ctrl-E), It tells me via pop-up that the service is
unavailable currently. Does anyone know why?

The service is now up again - it was down one hour for
scheduled maintenance work.

Invalid Edit Error Message

Hey guys, i was using final cut pro 4 to edit a movie for our film fest, and out of nowhere, the program is not letting us drag any clips into the timeline, it pops up with a message saying invalid edit. I tried to see if there was anything in the sequence options menu to help out but it crashed everytime i tried to open the options. I updated to FC HD and updated Pro App support, the program now works and i can get into the options menu, but i still get the Invalid Edit error message whenever i try to add a clip to the timeline, im going insane. please help

Hey guys, bit of an update, i am not able to bring any clips into the time line unless i go in and set an in point and an out point for each clip manually before i bring them down. It didnt always used to be like this so if anyone knows how to turn off the setting or otherwise fix what may cause this to happen please let me know.

Why do I always have "Insufficent Content for Edit" error message ?

Hi all FCE experts,
May I ask why do I always have "Insufficent Content for Edit" error message when I tried to overwrite or replace a clip ?
Ok,this is what happen:
I have a clip A (4 secs) followed by clip B (4 secs). Then in between I add a video transition.
After a while, I reckon I want to change clip B with another clip (say clip C). So, I went to brower & search for clip C which is 2 mins long clip. To make sure there are enough handles, I went to the centre mark an In point then 4 sec later mark an Out point. So I drag this clips C of 4 secs from the Viewer (I marked the In & Out point in the viewer) to the Overlay canvas & do an Overwrite but it says "Insufficent Content for Edit".
I then tried Replace also got the "Insufficent Content for Edit" error message.
I then tried to delete the video transition and repeat the above for overwrite and replace, both times I got the same error.
Any ideas ?

I have In Point & Out Point marked on the Timeline. I used it when I did FILE > EXPORT and left it there. But once I cleared it, I am able to replace it with another clip.
But I am still puzzled as to why I cannot do any overwrite or replace when there is I/O points marked on the Timeline ? Especially when the section of clips I wanted to overwrite or replaced are located outside of the I/O points ?

Edit error message as displayed when browsers fail to display dynamic pdfs

I'm sure many people here are aware of the problems that arise when many browsers attempt to open a dynamic writable pdf. The built in plugin that ships with most browsers is unable to display the content, and as a result the following message is shown.
"If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/go/acrreader."

My question is, is there some way to modify the message above by editing the pdf using a program like Adobe Livecycle or Acrobat Pro? The message that displays is basically useless, because the problem is actually due to the browser's inability to display the pdf. If it is possible to replace this message with something more meaningful, such as instructions on downloading the form with right click, that would be fantastic for the users.
Does anyone know where this information is stored? It doesn't seem to be browser specific (as the browsers I've tested seem to display the same message).

I got the error messages to work from properties file and some helper class, but not through just defining in faces-config or web.xml.
I am sure there is a better way to do but hopefully this will help you.

Photo Editing Error Messages Using Actions in PSE8

Hello I am currently using pse8 to edit photos and I recently installed a few actions. My actions are in my photo effects folder and I can clearly see them, however when I try to use them it gives me error messages such as "could not complete action as part of a program error", "the command color balance is not currently available" and "the command make is not currently available".
Please help.

Any time you see "the command Make is not currently available", it generally means there's a step in the action that PSE doesn't understand. Not all photoshop actions are fully compatible with PSE--are you sure these actions work in Elements? And they need to be compatible with PS CS4, which is the underlying code for PSE 8.

Edit Error Message

When a portlet times out, or other reasons, you get the unknown error or timeout error message. Can we edit those error messages?

You can search for that error in the in the message string files (it'll probably be in the browsing messages file), change it, and bounce your web server for the change to take effect. Be sure to change the message for every language, not just English.

Trying to register Kobo with Digital Editions Error Message

Every time I go to register my Kobo device I get the error message Activation server Error. code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY
Its driving me nuts as I want to read books on my Kobo and not just on the laptop. Please help, it really shouldn't be this difficult!

Disconnect your device from the USB port
Now restart Adobe Digital Edition and using CTRL-SHIFT-D to deauthorize the computer and select Erase Authorization.
Now go back to Adobe Digital Edition, Help and Authorize Computer
Now reconnect the device to the USB port
Now select your device in the Adobe Digial Edition and Authorize the device
Now get a library book in the Adobe Digital Edition and then add it to the Device
Hopefully things will work fine.

Editing error message from server

Hai all,
i want to know whether it is possible to change the style of the error message. style means Font, Size, Color of the text that are validated in server and sent to browser using
FacesMessage message=new FacesMessage(......);

With h:messages you cannot set individual message style classes. If you need that much control, you probably should be using h:message anyways.
What you can do with h:messages, is set a different style class for different error severities. Use the errorClass, fatalClass, warnClass, and infoClass attributes.
So say you were to throw a validation error in one of your custom validation classes. You could set the message severity to something reasonable, and use the appropriate attribute on h:messages to change the style class for it.

PSE 5.0 Photo edit error message when attempting to save edits.

After attempting to save photo edits with PSE 5.0, I get the message box "could not complete your request because of a program error." I have completed the task for a few years successfully and suddenly this glitch. These edits are basic fixes to shadows and contrast for my son's school trips and I dont want to save multiple copies, just replace original files, no heavy duty layer work. I am using Vista and have not had this problem in the past. I tried exiting the program a few times and started over, but same message box.

"Insufficient content for edit" Error Message

In Premiere, when performing a three point edit, I would get a "Fit Clip" dialogue box that asked me if I wanted to "Ignore Source In Point", "Ignore Source Out Point", etc. I usually pick the same option so I checked off the box that said "Always use this choice". If an edit doesn't exactly fit the parameters I universally set, an error comes up saying, "insufficient content for edit".
I can't find a way to undo that without wiping my settings clean. Is there a way to bring that initial dialogue box back up? Thanks, all.

Multiclip editing error message 'video frames don't match'

I basically need help figuring out how to make these video frames work together. Also, what is the easiest/quickest way without loosing quality. (I have a ton of clips to get through)
1st image is settings for the camera I'm trying to match everything to. 2nd image is the camera with the wrong settings. I've tried a few different things using the export to quicktime function as well as compressor but I must be doing something wrong.

How do you hide error messages thrown by a dashboard

OBIEE 10g; Anyone know how to edit error messages thrown by analytics. The text in many messages has been identified to us as a security vulnerability because the text contains sensitive information such as server host names and the logical queries themselves which could be used by an attacker. This includes particularly errors thrown by the logon screen before the user has even been authenticated. What I would like to do is edit the messages to say something like "Error 100058 Please contact support"?

Your role no longer valid error message and cannot edit page

Unfortunately I don't have access to the file, am asking on
behalf of a
friend who is skittish about his skills navigating a forum.
His question is:
When I open contribute, and select the website I want to
edit..there is a
yellow bar across the top of the screen that says "your role
in this website
is no longer valid. Click connect to update your connection
with a valid
one" so when I click connect, it goes through some screens,
then it asks
what folder on the ftp server the website is in? before there
was this
problem, I could get into the page I wanted to edit, and make
the changes,
then when I would hit the publish button the old page would
show up..so I
could make the changes but they weren't publishing..but at
that point I was
getting no error message???
He's having those two problems.
Any thoughts? I don't know diddly about Contribute. Thanks.

Hi, This is because SSRS requires a Login to connect to the datasource to process the report when subscription will be occuring at its scheduled time. I would recommend you to store the credential securily into report server.
GoTo: Report>Properties> Click on the Data Sources tab and you will see following options:
a)A shared data source
b)A custom data source
Use option b) and click on option Credentials stored securely in the report server
and provide credential information and further you can use options: Windows credentials and Impersonate the authenticated User if you require. Click on apply button.
*You can use any option of them provided in first option(a) also using the shared data source which is having credential saved into report server.
Once you have done with above you will be able to create subscription.
