Editing Flash Menu bar for Website - Have Tutorial & I'm Stuck :(

I'm a total newbie to Flash so, I start with sincere apologies. I have a tutorial that's supposed to step me through editing this menu bar but I'm so lost and can't seem to get my screens to match what they're doing in the tutorial.
I think I'd do much better if I could be directed to some directions on editing this that were written out or something instead of trying to watch what's being clicked on in this tutorial. It's crazy actually.
I don't see where I can upload either my file or the tutorial here in this post though.

If not I guess (as you already hve guess in some way in your post) that uploading the file and tutorial will be the best and probably only sway to a solution...

Editing the Menu Bar in Workgroup Manager

Hi There.
Could anyone help me with editing the Menu Bar for my users. I want to do away with the 'GO' option on the Menu Bar so that my pupils cannot browse down to the 'Network' button thus stopping them browsing the network. I presume that it is a 'plist' file I must edit in Workgroup Manager but have no idea which one.
Any help would be a Godsend!!

WGM -> Select group(s) -> Preferences -> Finder -> Commands -> Uncheck "Connect to Server" and "Go to Folder"
Won't actually remove the Network item from the menu, but is about the best you can do. No matter what, they're still going to be able to browse the network by using the sidebar in any Finder window.

Installed latest sec update and have flashing menu bar - cannot login

I also just installed the latest security update running 10.3.9 with a original 1ghz 17" powerbook.
Trying to boot afterwards I end up with a flashing menu bar and no disk icon on the desktop - obviously I can't login (set to single user)
Trying to repair permissions with a CD boot results in an "internal error" with the disk utility. Disk repair reports no problems. The program then cannot continue, and I have to hold the power button to get it to shut down.
Any ideas???

The problem was an add on: Hide Caption Titlebar Plus
Once I uninstalled that - the menu returned

Flash menu bar's hyperlink doesn't work after imported into dreamweaver

I have major problems when I tried to import a flash menu bar with hyperlink (created in flash) into dreamweaver. I have 5 buttons in the same flash banner file and each button is supposed to have its unique hyperlink. None of these 5 hyperlinks is working, but it works fine if run by the .swf file alone. What could I have done wrong in flash or dreamweaver?
Version Flash CS4, Dreamweaver CS4

Flashing menu bar

We have an old beige Mac 630 in one of our classrooms with system 7.5.3. The menu bar keeps flashing all the time, and seems to be connected somehow to using the mouse.A white cursor sometimes appears to the right of the special menu in the menu bar.If you use the mouse to double-click or drag for example, during these operations the menu bar stops flashing and resumes when the mouse task is completed.
Any ideas folks?

When the sound level is turned all the way down, the menu bar will flash instead of the speaker producing the System [error] Beep.
Older macs take up a lot of CPU power dragging with mouse button down. It generates a lot of interrupts and slows down the processor so that it can't keep up the flashing menu bar.

Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

We are developing the Struts based Web Application using Hibernate and for this we need the Menu Bar for all the pages in the application.But we are unable to write the code for the menu bar using java classes.

I too was having the same problem However, I could access both the menu bar and the dock by hovering my mouse over them so it wasn't a huge problem but I prefered having it there anyway. I was not in full screen mode and I could still go into full screen mode if I wanted to. I found the easiest solution was to just quit safai and restart it, but it might not work for you considering you couldn't access you menu bar either way.
I found this article that allows you to hide/show the menu bar and the dock through TextEdit (didn't work for me) http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2009/07/hide-the-menubar-or-dock-in-specific-app s.html It is pretty old so it might not work for lion and a bit risky if you don't know what you're doing so I wouldn't really recommend doing it this way.
And KSheppard, I know it's not really any of my buisness, but the way to get answers to a question isn't by insulting others and being quick-tempered. It's really possible. You can define an ITS service on your R/3 and apply parameter ~WEBGUI_SIMPLE_TOOLBAR. With this parameter you can hide all bars, using different values (3 bits). You can use, for example, value 132.
After that, you define an IAC iview on your portal with your ITS service.

I took some courses in Lynda.com, and the videos reffer to
LTR languges.
I wonder if it possible to make the Menu Bar for Right to
Left languages as well, which means the bars open from the right.

I think for this you need to create a custom component. Flex
3 has some support for rendering RTL languages, but I think text
input of these languages has some weaknesses. RTL language aware
controls are not yet in Flex. Maybe Flex 4, but I'm not sure. I
know some of the RTL language weaknesses will be addressed in Flex
4. Until, gotta do extra work.

Why wont Firefox allow me to click on the top most menu bars on websites? For instance that top-most blue menu bar on facebook.

The top-most menu/options bar on websites where you could do things like log out, view your own profile, or change settings is what I was referring to. I can't click on anything up there, but I can click on everything else on the site.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.
