Editing help

When I try to upload my edited RAW photo's to Walgreens to print, they loose edit's I have made to them. Does anyone have this problem? If so, is there a solution?

How are you going about uploading?
Remember you can't print a Raw. It must first be processed (edited) and saved as a Jepg or someother format that Walgreens understands.

Frame accurate editing help required.

Is there no iMovie 11 Help section that instructs you how to edit a movie (cut footage out you no longer require etc.), preferably to the frame.
The Get Started section of help jumps from Lesson 3 adding video to Lesson 4 Enhancing your project.

Thanks, thumbnail slider helps but actual frame editing seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes works sometimes doesn't (sometimes cuts 2 frames rather than 1), I found it easier (and more accurate) to cut a few frames away from where i wanted and then select an individual frame and move this using the Left and Right cursor keys before deleting the unwanted frame(s) using Cmd+X to cut selected frames.
BTW I eventually found some editing help in Browse help (there is none in the Get started section, although it is demonstrated in a video in lesson 3, 'Add video to your project') but it was well hidden!
Browse help/Create an iMovie project/Trim video clips/Trim unwanted frames from a video clip.
Why they hide it here i'll never know, surely everyone wants to trim their video, or is it just me,haha.

I have lost my " file, edit view, favurites, edit, help" toolbar, where is it please

I am not technical. When I use internet explorer I have a line
file, edit view, favourites, edit help
& I used to have this in firefox, I don't anymore.

I just started up with my IPod, I download music to my library and I accidently changed the artists name in an entire category. I can't figure out how to undo it. I read the edit help stuff but I can't select the item I need to edit

WSRP (jsr-168) portlets no edit/help buttons appear

Hi,
I have some jsr-168 portlets that I wrote that work on other portal software (like uPortal). They have both help and edit buttons (specified in the portlet.xml and handlers written into the portlet code) and you can click them and see both the help and edit modes of the portlets. However, when I put these portlets on Oracle Portal (10.1.2/10.1.4), the edit/help (or personalize) buttons don't show up. I even tried to use the sample portlets from sun, like the BookmarkPortlet, etc, and they have the same problem.
Any ideas?

Editing help for a newbie :) baby photo editing effect

hello everyone Firtly im sorry if i am posting in totally the wrong area but its the first time i have been on the site so not too sure of my way around lol
Im in desperate need of some help with photo editing in cs3.
basically i have seen some baby photos someone i 'know' has taken where a lovely effect has been applied. I asked her how and this is what she said:
'I create a fill layer of a shade of the middle tone of the sikin colour reduce the opacity, then add a texture mask to bring back a bit more of the features and paint it on the areas .. then just sharpen areas such as eyes nose and mouth .. and highlights to the corners of the eyes and centre of the mouth .. and then select high pass as a mask and that makes the image pop out a little bit'
But being a newbie i have no idea how to do any of this!! lol i know my way around photo shop a bit but just afetr ANYONE who can help me step by step pretty pretty please?
here are 2 examples of the images that use the effect incase that makes it easier for anyone to know what i mean lol (hope the links work)

Nor sure what she means with »texture mask«, but possibly just applying heavy noise (Filter > Noise > Add Noise) on the Layer Mask.
then just sharpen areas such as eyes nose and mouth ..
One option is applying Filter > Sharpening > Unsharp Mask to a copy of the Smart Object and setting it to Blend Mode Luminance and painting on its Layer Mask.

This could be done with a Curves- or Levels Adjustment Layer.

That seems more than a little unclear to me – making a Selection of a High Pass-result and using it as a Mask for what?
One can use the High Pass Filter for sharpening.

RAW IMAGE EDITING -help required

Please can someone help me with this.
I look at my RAW images in Organiser and then I use the EDIT tap to move to the RAW IMAGE edit section with the image I want to edit.
After I have edited the image- I move the image back to the main EDIT screen and then save as a Jpeg File in another folder.
The problem I am having is, when I then go back to the Organiser, I cant open the unedited original RAW image again, not sure why this is?
although I can see a small thamb-nail of the image it does not open but keeps on searching.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

To be sure I understand your workflow, I'll put it in my own words...
- You select a raw file in the Organizer, and you choose to edit it in full edit/expert mode (that depends on the PSE version).
- The file opens in the specific dialog panel of ACR, with its typical sliders
- When you have done your edits there, you can either be satisfied with them (case 1) or want to do further editing in the PSE editor with layers or other tools (case 2)
- case 1 - you simply click 'Done' and you are back in the organizer. The thumbnail is updated to show the edits.
- case 2 - You click 'Open' and the file opens in the normal editor mode of PSE. You do further edits, and you save the result in the format and the folder you want. When you close the image in the editor, you get back to the Organizer. If you have set your 'save as' with the right checkbox, the new jpeg is stored in the the Catalog as a version set.
Your problem seems to be that once you have edited your original raw file, you don't see it in its original state without the edits ?
If so, in the bar just under the tabs, you have a menu on the right (4 bars icon). You just set the choice to camera raw defaults, and you are shown the original raw image without your edits. Note that if you choose 'Shift + Open', you open a new copy without changing the previous settings saved in the xmp sidecar file.

Cropping in iPhoto reverses Photoshop's edit - help

I was helping my father edit his pictures by dragging them from the iPhoto album they were in to Photoshop CS5.
After editing I'd click "Save" and the highest setting "12" for the jpeg. When I'd go back to iPhoto the editing doesnt appear in the thumbnails but it does when I open the images.
The problem is, he has gone through and cropped some and all the editing I did on them is gone.
What is the issue? How do I fix it?

Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

QuickTime DVD Playback & Editing Help!

I purchased quicktime pro & the mp2 playback component. I can't get my home made DVDs to play in it although the help says I can by simply dragging or clicking. The only thing I can get acomplished is to play the individual VOB files but no audio seems to work. My goal is to go through all the family DVDs I've made with iMovie, cut & paste and creat a "best of" DVD and smaller clips for emailing. Can anyone help?

As Quicktimekirk said, if you export from MPEG Streamclip to iMovie in DV and then make your new DVD in iDVD, there will be some quality loss, but it is hardly noticeable.
To avoid the decompression/recompression problem you can edit the mpeg-2 file in MPEG Streamclip and then use the "demux to m2v and m1a" command. You then burn these files to a DVD using Roxio Toast 6 or Toast 7. This avoids decompressing the mpeg-2 files, but Toast costs money (unless you already have a copy) and doesn't have such nice menus as iDVD. Also, depending on the level of compression in your original DVD, iDVD may get more playing time than if you use Toast.

We would need to know how you go the Video from the camera to the DVD disks and in what Format the DVDs were recorded in.
If it made DVDs in the same format as commercial DVD films then the DVD player should open them
Quicktime will recognise many formats but not all .AVI and DIVX in particular.
Add-ons for Quicktime for some formats can be obtained.
Which app were you thinking of Editing in ?

Editing help please

Hey I was hoping someone could help with out with a bit of basic editing because I cant find any tutorials on it and I really need to get this piece of work quickly but I am unable to use my computer (sony vegas pro user) so have to make a clip at uni with adobe premier. I want to run two cli[p
I want to run 2 clips side by side without cropping them with some text above to show the difference between two sites before and after impacts. I just checked and its CS5 version 5.0.3 scully this comp has.

Ah missed the part: without cropping.
Then its just a matter of scaling the video's down and position them in the desired place in the Effect Controls.
If you highlight the word Motion in the Effect Controls and yellow bounding box will appear. Now you can scale down and reposition.

How to create a Menu structure in WDA( File, Edit, Help etc..)

How can we create Menu structure on a Web page developed in WDA. So for example, on my application I need a Menu structure on top of it with following details:
File Edit Header Help
When user select all these heading, a drop down list with different option will come in each section. So basically I want to impement a functionaly similar like Menu of a Web opae, where Menu structure is defined by me.
Which element can be used for this purpose?

Create MENU ui element, in that INSERT MENU, in that INSERT MENU OPTION.

Images smaller printed then edited, help needed

Hello everyone.
I'm using LiveCycle Manager 8.0 on Win XP SP3
When building a new form i got various problems with images being printed smaller then what is defined and shown in the edited and also in preview mode.
The problem occurs with images that are being included with Image Fields.
The problem gets even bigger if i place the images by showing them by the push of a button (script)
Pictures will not be x/y placed and sized as defined in the layout parameter
Here are some details about the pics:
Larger header pic 17.7 x 8.0 cm, 300dpi
Smaller pics bellow 17.7 x 1.6 cm, 300dpi
Here are some screen shoots to show you how it looks.
Any help would be great as I really tried a lot but can't find a solution.

OK I am trying to get to grips with what you are trying to achieve.
The preview now shows how the form will look in Acrobat (Form / Properties / Preview / Interactive).
In the top imageField I cannot explain why the displayed image is not as per the design view. Because it works for an image object (rev 1 in previous post), I suspect that it is a bug in the imageField object.
There are workarounds however it would depend on the number of options (images) that the user has to select and if these images will change over time. If there are a small number of options, you could include all of the images in a series of image objects that are hidden and then change the visibility depending on what the user selects. This would be easier for the user because they would not have to browse to an image location.
In relation to the "Geben Sie hier einen Titel ein |" header; if you are looking to change the background colour, then there is a simpler way, which i have included in rev 2.
You can script rectangles for presence, colour, etc. The rectangle cannot contain the script, but you can include script in a button that will affect the presence and appearance (look) of the rectangle.

ATI 3870 Mac edition help please!!!

I can't get my ATI 3870 Mac & PC edition video card to install any OS previous to 10.5.4 because apple does not support them. Can someone please help me. So far I have figured out I need to take the ATI kexts and put them on the install DVD using Pacifist. I am not sure how to make an installer or anything. Thanks in advanced.

I agree that the Proadvantage card might be a Mac compatible but the photo is wrong. Other dealers have made that mistake.

I need to send this to the clients computer which is editing with Avid. What as and how should I send this out of premiere pro cc for Avid ingest?

GTX 660 Ti Power Edition HELP!!!!!!

I recently purchased a GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC Power Edition and I have been experiencing issues with it. I have only had it for 3 days and every once in a while, when I'm playing a game, my monitor makes a strange noise and my entire computer freezes and restarts itself. This has never happened before I installed the 660 Ti so I figured it had something to do with that. The card is running everything completely stock out of the box. I haven't tampered with anything in Afterburner or anything. This is my first mid/highish end card so I'm basically a complete noob when it comes to setting it up. Another problem I was thinking about could be the PSU, but I literally JUST purchased it 1 week ago and everything else seems to be running fine. As I said, I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers so I need all the help I can get. And I don't want to RMA the videocard until I know for sure that that's the problem.

yes it could if its sending a very badly scrambled return signal thats creating garbage signals that are looping that are then sent from the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit(on the Graphics card)) to the CPU(Central Processing Unit (Main system processor)) and its causing a malfunction as it can make no sense of it so its shutting down itself to prevent damage and get rid of the BAD DATA its receiving!
just try another Monitor and see if it no longer does the auto shutdown then you know that the Monitor is faulty or if the different one does it too then maybe your Graphics card is Faulty but without testing it out you have no idea which as it could be either! (but the Noise from the monitor is odd and is more likely a monitor that cant handle it as it has a fault)
