I cannot edit in Design mode in CS6. Is it an issue in the code or something I'm not doing in the program?

Thank you so much!You may want to consider building the site(s) with a backend CMS (content management system) that the client can log-in to for editing. This requires no special software on his part. All he needs is an internet connection and a web browser so the site can be updated from virtually anywhere in the world. The other main advantage to providing him with a CMS is that the rest of the site cannot be messed up by the client since he will only have access to the pages you designate. Depending on your coding skills, requirements and budget, the following CMSs might be all you need.

How to edit fluid grid layout in Dreamweaver CS6
Hi all
I am a designer at the company I work for and we've been building repsonsive designs for the past 12months. I've decided that it would be good for me to try out the new fluid grid layout tool in Dreamweaver CS6 to see if we can improve the design process by using dreamweaver to allow us to quickly prototype my designs for mobile, tablet and desktop.
However I have 2 problems so far.
1) I've created my first fluid grid layout and saved all the files into a new folder. I set grid widths and gutter but now want to edit the values as I am not happy with the gutter. Can this be done? I can't seem to find the file that does this so can anyone point me in the right direction?
2) We have traditionally used pixels to define our grids. I normally produce a grid with a fixed pixel gutter, overall width and column size. It seems that Dreamweaver only has the option to use percentages. Can anyone tell me if this can be changed and again where I can do this?

TrevorIn Code View, open your FluidGrid.css file (or whatever you named it) when you created the layout.
FluidGrid Layouts are not perfect and the interface could use a lot of improvement. That said, I think they can be used as a starting point for simple layout projects providing you understand their limitations and are willing to manually tweak the FluidGrid.css code.
If you've been doing Responsive Layouts for 12 months, you're probably building desktop to mobile whereas FluidGrids build from mobile to desktop. It takes a little adjustment in thinking.
Keep FluidGrid.css for layout only. Use a seperate stylesheet for your content styles.

Dreamweaver CS6 crashes when editing tables
When I'm editing a table in the design view of Dreamweaver CS6, it stops responding and crashes. I have tried restarting my computer, restarting Dreamweaver (obviously) and repeating the same process, but it crashes in the exact same place. CS5.5 never did anything like this, in fact I have only ever experienced one crash and that was with InDesign CS5 a long time ago. It can't be my computer, it's well above required spec for CS6. What do you reckon is causing this? -_-
I will carry on editing bits of the table in the code view for now, but it's just that annoying feeling about compensating for something new that doesn't work properly. Any tips would be appreciated.I've been working with data tables in CS6 recently, and have not encountered any problems, so this is not a known bug.
Often when things go wrong with Dreamweaver, it can be related to a corrupt cache file. Try the instructions for deleting a corrupt cache.
If that doesn't help, file a bug report through the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Try to describe the situation in detail, giving steps to reproduce the problem. -

3. Menu for the hotspot tools opens (see screenshot, where I used "Polygon")
4. Click into the image (see screenshot) > Give an "alt" for your image, if you want.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 constantly freezes temporarily while editing code
When using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 or older versions, while writing code in PHP, when I end some syntax like closing parenthesis, adobe get frozen for 20 to 30 seconds, the more lines I have the slower it gets. I guess it’s because its detecting mistakes in the code, after that period of time it tells me if I have gotten some errors in that line.
Anyways, I have found a trick to avoid it but it’s really annoying in programming time, instead of using SHIFT+0 to close parenthesis, I copy “)” symbol on the clipboard and paste it to close the whatever function that needs to be close, and in this way, adobe Dreamweaver CS6 wont freeze for 30 seconds, (loosing of course the cool feature of grammar correction).
I know how this sounds but when you have 40.000 lines and you have to correct several mistakes in different lines and after each correction you have to wait 30 seconds… it just pisses you off.
I hope someone could help me to get rid of that waiting maintaining the correction feature or if that is too much to ask for, at least to make it behave like any other text editor that just writes what you time without waits needed.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 has stopped working
Hello - I am attempting to download and install a trial version of Dreamweaver 6 on my PC running Win7 Pro 32 bit service pack 1 with 4GB RAM and an E6300 processor. I have managed to download and extract the application but once I attempt to launch the program, I get a Dreamweaver panel that says it is installing files, then after a few minutes I receive the error message below and the installation window goes blank.
I have attempted the installation 3 different times using ADA and the direct download methods described in the FAQ's but in every instance, I have been met with this same error. I have disabled my firewall and antivirus but I still get this error. Between installation attempts, I have removed DW6 via the remove programs function in the control panel and restarted my PC. I seem to be able to download the application fine but every time I attempt to run it, I get this error. Any words of wisdom. Thank you.Hey Mylenium I have an update for you. I got the application to start, here is what I did. Thinking the problem might be permissions related, I went to the application directory, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, and gave full control to all users and cleared the "read only" for the application directory and all files in the subordinate file structure. Then using Windows Explorer, I navigated to a CSS file that I was working on with a text editor. I right clicked the CSS file and selected "Edit with Dreamweaver 6". To my surprise the file opened in Dreamweaver. Since then, I have used DW to create an HTML website with external JavaScript and CSS files. Dreamweaver now opens when I double click the application icon.
Even though I got it to work, I captured a related event from event viewer and the installation log for referrence and the benefit of others.

That type of file doesn't exist until you export it out of DW.
Go to Site > Manage Sites > click the site you want to export the ftp info for > Export
That will create a .ste file that will allow you to import all of the site settings on another installation of DW.
If you're just looking to edit the information, you do that under Site > Manage Sites > click the site you want > Edit > Servers > click the server you want to edit (testing or remote) > Edit

I am modifying the forms to suit my needs but otherwise no changes to David's instructions
I am the stage where I have built the add, manage, update and delete forms and added the various Server Behaviours. Everything works as it should on testing.
Problem
Next stage is to create edit and delete links.
I select Edit from the page that lists all records (manage_posts in tutorial)
Select URL from Select File box
Click on Parameters from File box
Enter be_index (the primary key of the records) in the Name box
Click on Value lightning bolt
Dreamweaver totally locks up. Need to use Task Manager to close it down and regain control.
I have tried re-installing Dreamweaver, and deleting cache as suggested elsewhere on this site, to no avail. Database appears OK when examined with phpMyAdmin.
I have tried hand coding using the line
<td><a href="update_records.php?be_index=<?php echo $row_rs_benefactions['be_index']; ?>">Edit</a></td>
but it doesn't do what it is supposed to do i.e. create line of code that points too each record's primary key.
I would appreciate any help to overcome this solid barrier.

A novice with Dreamweaver CS6 trial
Hello Experts:
Is it practical to contemplate connecting my Trial DW CS6 to an existing wordpress site, pulling down a local copy of the site, editing it in dreamweaver (add a page, some images, captions), and tem loading it back up to the web server where it once again looks like wordpress? I have reached the extent of my danger limit having pulled down a local copy that has pretty much everything that I see up on the web server.
However trying to open the local site I am besieged with notifications that I need to "discover things, etc. Have I overestimated the capability to be expected from DW? ThanksNo. WordPress is dynamically populated from content stored in the MySql database as well as a laundry list of server-side include files. In short, there's nothing to edit in Dreamweaver. After your WP site is deployed on the server, you MUST use the WordPress Admin Panel to edit & maintain content. Otherwise, you will break the site.
Feel free to use Dreamweaver to build a new web site or to customize a new WordPress Theme.

Dreamweaver CS6 keeps crashing
I am using Dreamweaver CS6 for months now, and all of a sudden since yesterday, it crashes when I edit html code with "an unhandled win32 exception in dreamweaver.exe [xxxx]".
I have tried to reboot, clean tmp folders, reinstall Dreamweaver, replaced the ntdll.dll file, but it still crashes. I have an urgent project on critical path and need URGENT assistance please.
It is on Windows 7 platform.

Some of the Dreamweaver users who have upgraded to Mac OSX 10.8 from 10.7 have been facing crashes due to the changes made during OS upgrade and got resolved with Dreamweaver re-installation. Can you please try re-installing the Dreamweaver.
Meanwhile if you can please forward the Crash report to [email protected] or the Email ID you used to submit the Crash report, I can get back to you with status on the same.

How to talk to Apple about a disabled phone.
