Editing in "LIbrary"

In Lightroom, while editing in "Library" with Lupe view, sometimes when i flag an image, I'm advanced to the next automatically, sometimes not. How do i change between settings???

If the caps lock is on when you are tagging images then auto advance is active. If the caps lock is off auto advance will not be active.

I suggest downloading Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager and using it to delete your preferences.

  • Html snippet not working; created from Taco html edit Component Library

Ok, I've searched for days on the discussion board for the answer to this one..... hopefully someone can give me a couple of pointers....
I have a component created from Taco html edit Component Library that I cannot get to work as an inserted snippet into iWeb 3.0.2.
Why can't I get this to work? I've seen first hand that they work on someone else's website that she constructs in html directly, not using iWeb. Any help greatly appreciated.
Taco created three files. They are:

You need to upload these three files in a folder to the root folder on your server:
    TSWAccordion.css
    TSWDomUtils.js
    TSWAccordion.js
The folder cannot be named "Scripts" as shown in your code as you already have one of that name.
Say it is named "Accordion". You then need to give the absolute URL to these files rather than the relative one shown in the code....
    http://www.yourdomainname.com/Accordion/TSWAccordion.css
    http://www.yourdomainname.com/Accordion/TSWDomUtils.js

  • Can you edit a library through shared network??

IS it possible to edit a library (change playlists, delete songs, etc) through a network???
    -E

As far as I know, you'll need remote access to the computer. ITunes, however, doesn't allow you to manipulate songs on other PCs.

  • Edit/Organize Library on One Computer from Another

Hi, I'm wondering if it would be possible to edit & organize an iPhoto library on another computer from iPhoto on a laptop? The two computers are networked.
I'm trying to help a friend organize and sift through a pretty messy iPhoto (v.5) library on his old G4 iMac. Unfortunately this computer is VERY slow and chokes on his library a bit (2000-3000 photos). It's painful to work on.
He has a new Intel MacBook, though, which has iPhoto 6.
    - Can he load up his library from the iMac over the network, and make the edits, delete the extra photos, etc.?
    - Since his old computer has iPhoto 5, and the new one is iPhoto 6, would just opening and editing the library make it unusable in iPhoto 5?
Thanks a lot. For convenience sake, he is stuck leaving the main iPhoto library on the home iMac. I've already spoke to him about upgrading the RAM and possibly upgrading to iPhoto 6 to help speed things up so they are usable. He's not sure if he can afford it now, so we need to 'lighten' his library as much as possible.
    G5 Dual 2Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4)   1.5GB RAM

    YoKenny
Yes he can, and it's not difficult to do. BUT - and it's a big one - he will have to have the same version of iPhoto on both machines. The architecture of V6 is different from V5 and so the earlier version will not read the later one. Opening the V5 library with V6 will make it unreadable to the early version.

  • Editing a library symbol from ActionScript

In the authoring environment I can edit a library symbol and

that's correct, at least with actionscript. you can edit

  • Manually editing iTunes library

Hello, I'm trying to get my song statistics from last.fm in iTunes. I would do it with a bash script, but I'm not sure how to edit iTunes Library. When I edit /Users/Me/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml, it makes no changes to my library, and the XML file is refreshed when I start iTunes, returning it to it's original state. Seems that I would have to edit /Users/Me/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library (it generates the XML file acctually?), but when I open that file in editor, I get a bunch of trash, weird symbols... can't work with that...
So anyway, can I edit some file, so that it changes my Play Counts in iTunes Library?
    cheers!

The iTunes library.xml file is generated by iTunes for other apps (like Last.FM) to access the iTunes library.
The iTunes library file is not accessible.
To change playcounts, see this -> New Play Count v2.0

  • Editing my library, lags and slows up the proccess

while editing my library I find that the system lags and it becomes very frustrating when I have to wait for the system to do what I need it to do. I have one of macs most recent and their more powerful units. I do have quite an extensive music library that I am always trying to work with and get as much info on it as possible. I am becoming disappointed with how things are going and even concidering finding another media format. this is not what I prefer, but if I am unable to come to a good resolution for this I don't see a choice. any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Since you can click on it to delete it give this a try: Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.
If that doesn't fix the problem continue with:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
and select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. (This is the downside to the method but it should give you functioning library with no bad actors in it.)
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • How to edit a library on second computer and then merge it back?

    Hi there,
My main 500GB library is on an older Mac Mini and I've got a snappy new Macbook Pro. I want to keep the library on the Mini but it's getting too big for the HD there.
I've done some tests with Duplicate Annihilator (DA) and it looks like I can really shrink the library by removing dupes.
I've tried running DA on the mini but it would take several days to complete and I can't seem to keep my family from opening Aperture during that time. According to DA docs it's very dangerous to have both DA and Aperture running against a library at the same time.
So, I think I want to:
    - Copy or Export my full library to an attached USB drive
    - Connect that drive to the snappier MacBook Pro
    - Run DA against the library on the Macbook Pro and then (carefully/selectively) delete the duplicates it finds
    - Return the USB drive to the Mac Mini
    - Import and/or Merge the smaller libary with the original library, hopefully ending up with the dupes removed from the original Mac Mini library
To do that I first tried selecting the 'Photos' view in the Library, Select All, and then 'Export Smart Album as New Library' but it seems to have stopped before completing. There's a file in the target folder called "Aperture Photos Export_exporting" that's only 40GB.
    So, my questions:
    - Does the above process make sense?
    - If I simply copy the entire Aperture Library to the USB drive (vs Export) will I be able to Merge when I bring it back, or will Merge only work with a library that was Exported?
    Thanks for any tips.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

Léonie, perhaps there is an issue with your system?
Hopefully not, I am seeing the same on three different Macs with Aperture 3.5.1.  Andy.
My network is too slow right now to download your movie, sorry - I could not yet view your video.
But I experimented a bit further and found that occasionally the deleted files will be removed from the original library, but not reliably. It seems to depend on the edits done and the way the deleted images are trashed.
When I do not empty the trash in the exported library, sometimes Aperture will remove the deleted photos when merging, but I could never get it to remove the deleted photos, if I emptied the trash in the imported/exported library.
    Here is an example:
    1. A test project to be exported as library
    2. The exported library after deleting images and emptying the trash
    3. Reimporting and merging
    4. Selecting to solve conflicts by keeping the imported library
    5. After merging, still all seven image versions.
The only way that merging sometimes did remove the deleted image versions was, when I did not empty Aperture's trash in the imported library, and when I edited a few images before reimporting.
KIrby, I see your traces in this thread. Do you have time to try to checkout what happens in your Aperture version? That would be great.

  • Is there a way to edit a library image and have it automatically change throughout my documents?

    InDesign question:
I am changing an image in several books and thought creating a library image would be great in the future, that way all I'd have to do is click on the library image, make the changes and PRESTO all the images are updated in all the books.
However I am not seeing a way to edit the image in the library, so what is the point of using it.
Is there a way to just update the library image or should I just create the image in Illustrator and go from there?
    I am using CS4

Does the file need to be created in Illustrator? I have some content elements that basically contain some text and boxes. So I am wondering is this still the best way? Sounds like I cannot create the library element in InDesign.
Also, I was told that another possibility is to create a page for that element, then place it in the InDesign file. Would that work as well? I basically have about 20 different design elements that I want to use in various documents. Since they would likely change it makes sense for me to have the capibility to edit the document once.

  • Error Message When Editing Photo Library

When I am cleaning up my iphoto library, such as rotating or deleting files, I get the following message every time that I edit or delete a photo or range of photos:
"An error occurred while trying to save your photo library. Some recent changes may be lost. Make sure your hard drive has enough space and that iphoto is able to access the iphoto library."
    Other info:
    1. The hard rive has 80 GB remaining.
    2. The photo library is from a backup hard drive as this computer (macbook) is a replacement for a damaged computer. This iphoto library was populated by (a) copying Pictures from the backup drive to this macbook, then importing the pix into the library.
How can I turn off the warning message that I mentioned above?
    Thanks

You may have a damaged database file. To rebuild the library launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions. Select the first three options. It will be recreated when you next launch iPhoto and you'll have to reset the preferences as you had them before.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Unable to edit Function Library

    Hi all,
I am unable to edit a function library I created. I always get a NullPointerException:
There is no syntax error in the included functions. The Library is activated, but it is also not found by the runtime. When I send a test message I get an error that the used functions were not found.
I have already tried to create another function library. I am able to create and activate it, but get the same error when I try to edit it.
    I am working on a Java single-stack.
    Any suggestions?

    I already tried this.
But the main problem ist: When I am in ESR in the function library and klick the Edit-Button, I get the error message shown above. So I am not able to edit any function library.
What could be the problem? I already tried:
    - To remove all special characters from the name and description of the function library
    - To create a new namespace with a new function library

Using digital editions 2.0, I cannot transfer books downloaded to digital editions from the library to my nook.  I get an error message: failed to write destination file. At first, this happened once in a while but now every time. Help!!!

Modern kobo books should just use regular Adobe DRM and be readable on compatible ereaders that are authorized to the correct Adobe ID.
I understand older kobo book had different DRM: but I wouldn't expect those to
When Adobe DRM book information say 'no copying', that generally means no copying outside those Adobe DRM limitations.
You should be able to copy within the restrictions.  You can double-check that with the sellers (Kobo).
    Just double-checking
the pocket book is Adobe DRM compatible?
that you have authorized your pocket book with your current Adobe ID?
menu/Help/Authorize Device when plugged into ADE:  Library/Authorize Device if using the older more reliable ADE 1.7.2
If the pocket book is already authorized but to a different ID, you will need to deauthorize it first, ctrl-shift-E to ADE with device plugged in (or cmd-shift-E on Mac).
Be aware that will lose the ability to read DRM books authorized with the previous ID.

  • Restoring keywords & edits to Library

I recently lost my Library6.iPhoto file to corruption and in the process I lost some editing and keywording changes I had made. I have recent backups to this file that I am going to use but the recent keywording and editing changes won't be on it. I do also have a backup DVD that I made recently via iPhoto's Share/Burn command which I think will have many of these keywording and editing changes. What is the fastest/safest way to restore these changes to my libary?
    Thanks,
    Win

    Terence,
Not sure you understand my situation. I was able to repair the Library problem itself by deleting the damaged Library6.iPhoto file and installing a recent Library6 backup. The trouble is that said Library6 backup didn't have the most recent editing & keywording changes because it was made several days before.
Happily I also had made a backup of the film roll in question after editing and keywording a number of images in a previous session. As far as I understand Share/Burn's function it would have also saved the editing/keywording changes made just prior to that backup being made.
So now I have a DVD containing edited/keyworded images that also exist on the harddrive without the editing/keywording. My question is how do I get those edits and keywords reattached to the images?
    Thanks,
    Win
