Editing MAIL toolbar

I don't know if Apple has changed the Support format or if i just got lost. I had intended to post a question in the MAIL section, but I can't seem to find it today. Anyway, I want to delete "Reply All" from my MAIL toolbar. How do I do it?

They changed it a little eh
In Mail - Use the top menus to reach Mail-View-Customize Toolbar.
if you have the default '3-way' reply, reply all & forward' button - then drag that off & it'll 'puff of smoke' vanish.
Now drag the individual Reply & Forward ones (if that's what you want) up to the toolbar, wherever you want them.
Click Done & you're done.

  • How do I remove an icon from my Apple Mail toolbar?

I know how to customize the mail toolbar, but mail isn't letting me remove a default icon.

Try holding down the command key, click and hold, then drag down until you get a puff of smoke.

  • How do I add icons to a mail toolbar?

I can see how to add standard icons to a mail toolbar but are these the only icons available? Are there icons for instance to move to the next (or previous) mail message without having to go in and out of a message?

What exists in Mail/View/Customize Toolbar is all there is.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • I've lost the 'send' icon on my mail toolbar and can not find or retrieve it.

I have lost the 'send' icon on my Mail toolbar and am unable to retrieve it so I am unable to send an email.

    Launch Mail.
    Start composing a new mail.
    Click "View" menu.
    Select "Customize Toolbar".
From the dropdown drag the "Send" button to the top of the window.
    Click "Done".

  • Is Apple going to restore a contacts icon in the mail toolbar? It is missing in Yosemiti !

Yosemiti does not include an address icon in the mail toolbar. I am unable to BCC a list of addresses when forwarding an e-mail ????

Sorry I didn't use very clear language - by green blob, I mean the maximise button in the traffic light system on the top left of an email - underneath mine is a dialogue box that lists various options, adding fields like cc or bcc, which was someone asked about.
Don't know why the contacts icon disappeared. Perhaps Apple will restore it in the next update.

  • Can you add cut copy and paste icons to mail toolbar?

Can you add a cut, copy and paste icons to the mail toolbar in macmail?

I guess that these were considered such fundamental operations, each with an already existing variety of operations (mouse, keyboard, right-click, ctrl+c etc) that the Thunderbird devs didn't choose to replicate them again. Similarly, keyboard selection is relied upon a great deal in Thunderbird, rather than adding all the ugly (IMHO) checkboxes that now counterintuitively litter all Windows Explorer displays.
So, if the devs expected you to use ctrl+right+shift to select the current text word by word, then ctrl+c to copy it, ctrl+x to cut it and ctrl+v to paste it would be quite natural, since your hands are already at the keyboard. Similarly, if you prefer to select by mouse, a right-click also offers options to copy, cut and paste, and there is also the possibility to drag selected text, serving cut and paste in one action. So it could be argued that there is no need for buttons.
There used to be additional button add-ons for Thunderbird, but those that I know about don't appear to be under active maintenance and don't currently work with TB 31.0.
You could build your own using a Custom Buttons add-on, but it isn't easy to find the appropriate function call to attach to your home-made buttons. :-(
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/custom-buttons/
Here's the code you need if you try this add-on:
    cut: goDoCommand("cmd_cut")
    copy: goDoCommand("cmd_copy")
    paste: goDoCommand("cmd_paste")
    (taken from: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keyconfig_extension:_Thunderbird )
The tedious bit is finding suitable icons; the defaults are pretty but unhelpful coloured stars.

The group of customize icons does not include cut, copy, or paste to add to the mail toolbar. Is there a way to add them?

  • Address Book or Contacts button no longer in Mail toolbar

I realize the Address Book app has been renamed to Contacts but it used to be very convenient to have an icon for it in the Mail toolbar. I can't seem to find a way to do that now. Anyone have any tips on this? Thanks

Doesn't have the same functionality :-(
With the Contacts Button in the toolbar it was possible to cmd-click to select multiple contacts, with the + button, it is only possible to select a single e-mail address.
I do get hate it when "upgrades" remove functionality that I regularly use for no obvious reason :-(

  • My iPad mini crashes when editing mail.

IPad mini crashes when editing mail  happens when trying to delete multiple emails. Any suggestions。

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

    Hi wwwwes,
To add items to the toolbar, go to the View menu, select Customize Toolbar and drag items you want to use into the toolbar. See this article -

Of course they would say that. Tell us are there any other problems?
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
Firefox issues. '''Disable All of them.'''
Make sure you have the latest version. The best thing to do is first remove
the program, then get the full installer.

  • How to print editable mailing labels from Address Book?

I am once again working on Holiday Mailing Labels (450 pple) and needing to export editable mailing labels from a smart group in my Address Book.  but I can only print out non-editable pdf labels.  Is there a way around this?  Editable labels are vital!! Can I export my contacts to a file that can be imported into Microsoft Word Labels Mail Merge?

I have the same problem. After much searching for easy solutions, I just added a user account on my mac, and use the address book/contacts for the end of year mailings. This meant copying, manually, a lot of contacts! At the same time as they were entered the edits were made. I can make edits ongoing within these lists without changing the contacts in my personal user account. There oughta be a better way!!!

  • Is there a way to ONLY restore your mail toolbar settings from a previous version?

Is there a way to ONLY restore your mail toolbar settings from a previous version? I did a clean install and I love it except  I lost my mac mail toolbar setup and my muscle memory is all out of whack now. Is there a way to mine the old preference files I have on backup for this data?
    Thanks!

Awesome thanks! I just replaced the new preference file with this one from my old Time Machine backup and everything is back to how it was before.

  • Mail toolbar and minimizing the mail window?

The mail window no longer has the red, yellow, and green buttons displayed and the toolbar disappears until I move my pointer to the top of the display window.  How do I keep my mail toolbar displayed so I can minimize the mail window?

The double arrows do have a blue background.  I have no doubt that I'm in Full Screen mode when they appear.  However, when I click on the double arrows I can view the Mail screen perfectly.  I assume clicking the double arrows exits Full Screen mode.  I have also clicked Exit Full Screen from the menu.  The issue is that my Mail app is very different from what it's typically like.  It now hides the Mail menu bar until I move the pointer to above the screen.  I cannot see any desk top from around the Mail screen and I cannot move the Mail screen at all.  Also, the display of a new mail message; either one created or one opened looks like a something in the Preview app looks like.  There is limited access to mail options and no option to Save as Draft.  Also, there are no expand, minimize, close buttons (green, yellow, and red buttons) on any Mail screen.
By the way, these issues began after I used Mirror Screen with my Apple TV.
    Thank you for your assistance.
