Editing multiple stills in the viewer?

I have an animation comprised of a few thousand still png files with transparent backgrounds, overlaid on top of a gradient within FCE. I need to be able to edit all of these uniformly, in the same way, using the "motion" tab in the viewer, without having to go through them one by one. Is there any way to mass edit that number of frames, or give them the same setting, so they appear in the right place on screen?
I tried putting them all into a separate sequence and using that sequence overlaid on top of the gradient, which lets me edit only one file, but when it renders there's some bad artifacts around the png files and it looks blurry.
Any ideas?

I often color code layers in the layers panel.
In CS5 I could select several layers and change the color for all at once. Doesn't seem to work anymore in CS6.

Hey thanks guys, this has been bugging me for weeks since I upgraded to CS6. I'm used to double clicking to manipulate several layers at once. Have been double clicking one at a time for a while. So glad I don't have to do that anymore. Cheers!

Can i edit multiple songs at the same time but not to the same thing?

i have downloaded a free mixtape and once transferring to iTunes every track on it comes under various artists in the artists section and the name of the artist and song title in the name section of iTunes. I am aware i can change these by selecting 'get info' however i was wandering if the was a way where i can change all of these songs manually, at different times, without haven't to manually select 'get info' before editing every one.

There are editors that bring up the songs one at a time, so you can edit them in a row. Winamp works that way. iTunes does not.

Adding multiple rows to the view

Hi guys,
I have a table (PlannerTab)to which a view (PlannerVO)is attached the table has a add new row button and at the page level i have a save button which will commit the database.
The user clicks the add new row button and enters values for the columns
when he clicks save i need to default someother view attributes based on the values he has entered .. for example if he has entered employeename i need to get the employee id from the db and populate my view object attribute(employeeid).... how do i handle this esp when the user creates more than 1 row before he commits the database.

Tom,
How is user entering the employee name? Is it a normal text input field? Then what will happen if the entered name is wrong. I will suggest to use an LOV for field like that so that when you select the name, the corresponding Id will also get stored on page context if you configure properly.
Otherwise if you are not bothered about the validated data, you can put the logic to get the Id from name while saving logic.

I now get a blank (white) screen in the Viewer. Can still drop video from the viewer into the canvas, but don't see it in the viewer. Please help!

It doesn't seem to matter what project I'm working on... the picture in the viewer is gone. All I see is a blank (white) screen. If I put the cursor over the viewer and drag to the timeline, the clip will appear on the time line (and in the canvas) but I don't see it in the viewer. I usually edit my clips in the viewer and not on the canvas. Can anyone explain why this might be happening and how I might fix. I'm suspecting I must have messed up one of the settings but I'll be darned if I can figure out which one or how to fix. Please help!

David. Thank you very much. The problem was not with the canvas but rather the Viewer. But the solution was the same. Somehow, the Viewer window was re-set to Alpha. I changed it back to RGB.... and the picture is back. These issues are often very simple.... but they can drive you bats if you don't know the answer. Very grateful. Tim

Why did Firefox change the tabs's to be on top?..and the view image zoom is gone...Still faster than IE,but sucks now

You can still access the "View" item on the Menu Bar as well as other Menu Bar items by tapping the ALT key or the F10 key for the Menu Bar to temporarily appear and make selections from there.

How to hide the view latest instance option for the reports in XIR3

Created an access level and denied the rights "view document instances" and "view document instances that the user owns" in the access level.
Applied this access level for a particular group on a particular folder.
Login to Infoview and when view the history,there are no instances for a particular report under that folder.
But we could still see the 'View Latest instance' option in the properties of the report and when click on it,we are able to view the report.
As per the security assigned,the user should only be able to view the instances owned by him.
Plz help me how to hide the option in INFOVIEW

In 9.3.1 (not sure about 9.2) there is a table in your BIPlus repository which stores preferences/profile information, however, having a user simply log in to WA doesn't appear to automatically create a row for them in this table. (So this may not be a viable solution to your situation, I'm still looking for one myself.) This table stores lots of preference info such as whether or not to show the Main Menu, Toolbar, Masthead, etc. by default.
To hide the View Pane, edit the data in the SHOW_INFO_PANEL column, change it from a 1 to a 0 and for that user the View Pane will not longer appear by default.

But again, this only works if you already see the user in the table otherwise I guess maybe they have to 'touch' their Preference before it creates an entry in that table. Haven't figured that part out yet, and Support didn't have any information.
If anyone has found a way to maneuver through the table structures I'd love to hear any insight you can offer.
Before you make any changes to the data in this table be sure to take adequate repository backups, and use caution as usual.
I'm going to create a Shared Preference and have each user point to it the first time they log in - but then you lose the ability for each user to have their own personal folder as their default, so it's still not the ideal solution. Really wish there was a way for Admins to set certain prefs. A coworker reminded me under 7.? or 6.x things like View Pane were system-level settings which was easy to control, but now it's at the user level.

Multiple Reports in one Viewer instance?

Hi. I have 2 reports, which I can show in seperate viewer instances. Is there a way I can have both these reports show in one viewer instance?

I have been working on a book and have 418 photos already in my book. All of a sudden I cannot access the book format to see the multiple view, spread view, or single view. I can no longer see my book although I still see the collection with 418 photos

All of a sudden I cannot access the book module and clicking on the multiple view, spread view, or single view does not take me back to the book I have been working on. I can no longer see my book although I still see the collection with 418 photos under collections. What I do see is a blank template for a new book and I can't find the unfinished book I started with 418 photos. It is like the new empty template is somehow covering it up. How do I get back to the book I have been working on?

Is it possible you mistakenly clicked on a [Clear Layout] button?
But a great hint is- Always click on the [Create a Saved Book] button, early in your new book design.
Then you have a permanent link to the book in the Collections panel. (In addition to the standard collection of your selected images)
Note: a Book Collection shows an icon that looks like a book.
Every time you come back to edit the book, open the Book Module by clicking on the white arrow that appears on the end of your Book Collection title. (The title as saved)
Re-opening a book without using the "Saved Book" option can have unpredictable results.
A "Book" Collection is like a "Smart Collection" because anything you do to the book design, change pages, change images, etc, is automatically updated in the Saved Book collection.

I just downloaded firefox 4 but still have the file/edit/view/etc of firefox 3...?

In the walkthrough of Firefox 4 it shows just one orange button where everything is kept all together, but I still have all the single buttons from Firefox 3. I tried re-downloading Firefox 4 but it didn't change it to the new version, so I'm kind of in limbo between Firefox 3 & 4. Is this just a glitch or how can I get the *full* Firefox 4?

I updated firefox to 4.0 and then to 5.0 and it doesn't look like it is supposed to, I still have the navigation tool bar at the top of my page and the drop down boxes too (file, edit, view etc). Why is this an how can I get the proper new versions?

When I updated firefox to 4.0 the only things that really changed were a couple of buttons and the position of the tabs, the blue navigation bar and the drop down menus for file etc didn't change at all.
My computer also freezes when visiting certain websites with firefox, not Every time I visit but frequently. The websites are usually commonly visited websites (Gmail, stuff.co.nz) and don't do it when I am using internet explorer or another computer. This started when I downloaded the upgrade.
I use a net-book with Windows XP.

It works in my test environment using your code.
I suggest follow the steps as below:
1. Save the following code as a js file (TaskListView.js) and upload it into the SiteAssets Document Library.
2. Edit the list view page.
3. Edit the list web part. Go to Miscellaneous -> JS Link.
4. Add the following URL into the JS Link textbox.
~site/SiteAssets/TaskListView.js
5. Click "OK" and save the page.
If it still not works, please check whether active the Minimal Download Strategy feature in site feature or not.

No, it isn't. Pages 5 isn't compatible with Pages 4.3 as it is lacking more than 90 features that Pages 4 has. So when you open a Pages 4 document in Pages 5 only the simplest documents will look the same in Pages 5.
Pages 4 can't open Pages 5 documents at all!! You have to export back to Pages 09 as I said above.
You probably will be more happy if you just use Pages 4 (Pages 09). There are many threads in this forum that describes the lack of compatibility between the two versions. Pages 5 is in my view not Pages anymore.
If you don't desperately need Pages 5 for moving documents over iCloud to new iOs devices don't use it.

The clip is intact and it has video and audio.
I have worked on it before and all was fine until I lost the work when it got frozen!
The issue is:
I have a (MOV.) ready clip that I wanted to edit a bit, hence I have imported the clip (import media) and whenever I try to work on it, the black screen prohibits me from doing anything.
Any ideas please ... It's really strange !

Copying text object to multiple still menu views

I am fairly new to this program. I have multiple still menu views on my graphical tab. I need to change one text object for multiple still menu views at the same time. As of now, highlighting all and changing the text object only changes one view. Is this possible and does anyone know how to do this??

You can't. Each one has to be made individually, you can of course use copy & paste to do this.
