Editing Muse Site with InBrowser Editing

Is there a way to get the formatting options (bold, italic, hyperlink) to show up while editing Muse site content via InBrowser Editing (Business Catalyst)?

When I edit in LR and Then in PS when I save in PS and open back in LR it didnt save my LR adjustments. It gives me two images, One That has PS edits and One with LR edits. HELP

HI everyone, I am a newbie and Im having trouble. I edit a image in LR and open in PS and edit some more and then save. When I go back into LR My Edits are two separate images. One with LR edits and One with PS edits. Why isnt it saving my LR edits when I go into PS! Thank you for any help you can give me.

When you choose edit in photoshop a dialog box pops up, make sure you choose the top option as the other two specifically say lightroom edits will not be visible in photoshop.

This appears when I try to log, I dont know whats happening, everything is correct in my Muse File, its checked the Enable INBROWSE EDITING, what could be the mistake??, the server? If so, what I have to ask to my host provider... Thanks!

Enable online content editing Muse site pages in BC

Hello,
This is one for the Muse/BC experts out there.
We have a Muse site that has been uploaded to Business Catalyst. In order that the client could upload PDFs and have access to the File Editor we have turned on the "Enable online content editing" located in the My Details panel for the site, as described here Business Catalyst Help | Work with pages
The problem is that the client has made normal content editing changes in BC using the 'Edit' tools, but when we have re-opened the site in Muse and said yes to allow Muse to update the file with edits from BC, the Muse file deletes content that has not been deleted in BC.
So my question is, does turning on "Enable online content editing" in BC screw up Muse's ability to update itself with BC edits. or is something else going on?
Hope somebody can throw some light on this.

Yes, i have the same errors in all browsers.
There is this error message on the pages of the directory "appart."
There is an "index" page in this folder (no problem with this page) and children pages. For these pages, I have this error message when I click Publish.
This page has the same structure as those of the "chalets" part or there is no problem on these..

There is 2 big parts on this site : Chalets and Appartements. Another curious thing: in the opening pages of these two parts, for each property there is a button "Plus d'Infos" To enter the page on editing mode, I have to click just above the button... The menu “click "does not appear, only "edit ". But that is not very serious

How do I edit FrontPage sites with Dreamweaver 8 without messing them up?

I have to edit a friend's Front Page site using Dreamweaver
without messing up her ability to publish also.
I'm running Dreamweaver 8.0. I already installed an extension
for dreamweaver mx called "Import Front Page Site Wizard for
Dreamweaver" but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a version of
this for DW8? When I "import" the site using IFPSWFD it says
restart DW to complete the process, and when I restart it says the
new site "has been added" but I don't see it in my list of DW
sites.
Does anyone have tips on using DW8 to edit FP sites without
corrupting them?

Trouble hosting muse site with Business Catalyst

I built a site with muse and am hosting with BC(creative cloud subscription). The original site is kittlesoncreekpress.businesscatalyst.com, trying to publish to www.kittlesoncreekpress.com but I get a 404 error when I try to publish. The namesservers are set correctly with domain registrar.

When I tried to access kittlesoncreekpress.com, the URL that came up is http://www.kittlesoncreekpress.com/www.kittlesoncreek.com
Notice the www.kittlesoncreek.com after the domain name.
I have checked all the settings on the business catalyst end for the site kittlesoncreekpress.businesscatalyst.com, and they seem fine. The domain has been added correctly, the nameservers are fine as well. Please check if there is some fowarding etc. applied to the domain from the registrar's end.

How to publcish new Muse Site with existing domain name

We've created a new site in MUSE and we are ready for it to go live via BC. can we just use the same domain name of our existing site that is hosted by others? Will it replace it? Or do I have to cancel my existing hosting service first?

You may create site using Muse, have the Muse project published to Business catalyst.Once done, have the site launched as either free site you get or as paid one based on you requirements.
Once the site is launched, you may have the domain added to the site via site settings > site domains > new domain.
When you add the domain you have two options :
1. Use our DNS service
2. Use External DNS service
Based of your requirement , you will need to add the domain and have the domain redirected to Business catalyst where the site is now hosted.
As far your existing site is concerned, you may want to keep it until the muse site is ready and published to business catalyst. However, once you are ready and domain is redirected , you may cancel your subscription with third party hosting service .

Can I replace a published muse site with one I have been working on?

I have published a muse site as a holding page on a webasics plan, and while that has been live I have started a new muse file an built a website which I intended
to replace the holding page with.
I am having trouble figuring out how to replace a already published site with a new muse file?

Hello,
You simply need to select the same site from the list of sites in the dropdown, while publishing it from Muse. This will replace the existing site with the one you have built in Muse now.

Changes to Muse site with new update

I made a change to an existing, published Muse site after I installed an update. When I clicked "save", it wanted me to save over the old name. Then when I clicked "publish", to load the changes to BC, it loaded everything, instead of the just the pages that I changed like it usually does. Will that happen everytime I install an update? I am assuming that it did not create a whole new site.

I believe Muse is everything when you publish a muse site, it does it all.

You get 5 free sites with creative cloud subscription to host with Adobe.
So if you have a cloud subscription then you can use the free site counts and publish the sites to Business Catalyst. The sites published will be web hosting sites , but if you want to go for any higher plan you can surely upgrade the site plan.

I created a website and a phone version with Adobe Muse. In order to add schema tags, I downloaded Dreamweaver and edited the website. Will these tags remain if I edit the site with muse again? Does Dreamweaver have to download the phone layout separately

Also, I want to add Schema tags to the Muse master page copy, particularly serviceArea tags, but I'm not seeing the elements in Dreamweaver. Where are elements from the master found in Dreamweaver?

I checked the first site, and there is no phone/tablet layout. On My phone, you desktop version appears fine.
regarding second site, I see the phone layout with template content, so I doubt, if you have deleted the phone layout folder from the server, but did not delete the layout in Muse file. Hence when you publish the site again, the folder was created again.
could you please confirm this, so I can test it further.

Edit Existing Site With Dreamweaver

Im sure this question has been asked 100 times but how do I edit an existing site (published and on the web) with Dreamweaver CS5.5? I took over as webmaster last month at a company and would like to edit the companys website. How do I download the files off the web? I can do it with Contribute but not Dreamweaver.

Create a local site folder in DW. Site > Manage Sites > New.
Go to Advanced > Remote info and enter your log in-details (FTP, host URL, username, password).
Test connection to server.
Then GET files from server.

Editing FP site with Dreamweaver (was "Question please")

This may be a stupid question, but I am not that familiar with web design. I have a web page that I created using Front Page. Can I maintain that site using Dreamweaver?

At the beginning of this year, I moved from FP to DW. There is a definite learning curve and you must bite the bullet and learn some CSS in addition to HTML. There is great information on the Adobe website and lots of folks here who are very generous with their time to offer help. And, yes, when posting try to describe your problem in a few words in the subject line. You will get help much faster when you do that.

How do you replace an existing MUSE site with a completely new version?

I am working on a complete revamp of my MUSE website.
I do not want to take down the current one until the new version is ready...
Do I have to delete the current version and then relaunch the new one?
The site is being hosted by Business Catalyst.
Please advise.

Hello,
You can publish the new site as trial to business catalyst. Once the site is ready to be live, you can republish it to your existing URL via Muse itself.
This will overwrite the current live site.
In case you do not want to delete the current live site, you will have to remove domain from current site and add it to this newly published site.
The previous version will then be accessible by business catalyst URL.
