Editing patterns in Autoplay for GarageBand on iOS - ?
Can you edit these patterns? Seems there is midi data being sent to the magic keys from the Auto-play control knobs in GarageBand for iPad - are we really stuck with 4 patterns and that's it? Someone tell me you can monkey around with this...??
That's all we have for now. With luck the app will evolve. Apple don't read these forums for feature suggestions but if you would like to submit an idea for consideration use the GarageBand for iOS Feedback form.

The last two are the only valid edit patterns. All of the others are invalid. Here are the reasons:
- You have to specify the minutes
- If not using military hours (H, HH) you have to specify AM or PM
The only way to support the other patterns you are trying to use is to make it a text field and put
custom javascript validation on it.

Does editing a pre-fix set for bgp in IOS-XR cause a loss of network connectivity

I have to edit an existing prefix-set for bpg in ios-xr. When I went to do it the first time it told me it would wipe the existing information so I aborted the change.
I have since read that you need to redo the whole list and add the new network you want.
For example.
existing
pre-fix set TEST
10.10.10.0/24,
11.11.11.0/24
new
pre-fix set TEST
10.10.10.0/24, 11.11.11.0/24, 12.12.12.0/24
1st) is the above correct?
2nd) when this is done will there be any drops in connectivity?
Thank you.1) It is correct, when you create the new prefix-set with the same name as the old one, it overwrites the old one. Meaning that, it wont "append" to the old config, it creates a new prefix-set from scratch
2) Depends on where are you referencing the prefix-set. For example, on BGP route-policy, there wont be any drop on BGP connectivity, you might even have to do a soft refresh in and out to refresh the advertised/filtered routes -
Trouble with 3rd party VST installs for Garageband, can't find instruments
Hi,
I am having trouble with Audio Units for Garageband when installing 3rd party software, VSTs, loops, instruments. I have more issues with Logic Pro. I am hoping that it is the same underlying issue and that I am just missing something. I have the manuals (not great for troubleshooting). I am confused with some installs use User Library and others use the Computer Library. I do go to the mfgs sites for updates. The installs sometimes work as standalones but I don't see ALL of the components of the software in say Garageband or Logic. Mostly, I am missing the "instruments" and "loops" that I want to access within the DAW. Some examples:
• Here is some of the software I am talking about: East West sample libraries (Play and Native Instruments); Vienna Symphonic librarires; Sylenth1 (just last night); Sample Tank 2 and Total Workstation 2 from IK Multimedia and others.
• In GB I see the Audio Units for Vienna, Play, Sylenth, some of the IK Multimedia but NOT any instruments when I go to the "Sound Generator" -- I seem to be missing the instruments and loops. I see less AUs in Logic Pro. Some of these are VST instruments.
• Can I just drag-drop samples to the library folders to fix this?
• The plug-ins do not seem to work (though Sylenth1 worked for a single sound). When there is a standalone app (as in Sample Tank), I finally got the "sounds" to be reinstalled and loaded, those sounds/samples don't show up in any DAW.
• When and if the sounds/loops/samples show up in GB's "Instruments" section will I be able to tell that they belong to that particular software or library?

JohnFound the answer myself, it was simple:
• Select the Track
• Show the Instrument (info area)
• Click on Edit
• Click on the "Sound Generator" pop up field.
• At the bottom of the pop-up list, select from the Audio Units that you have installed. This is where you see "Sample Tank 2, Vienna Instruments..."
• NEXT -- IMPORTANT: CLICK ON THE PICTURE next to the Sound Generator pop-up field.The AU unit loads up, the interface pops up, you load up the instruments in this AU Unit. You do NOT see the sounds from the AU unit in the normal Apple instrument list.
This was not intuitive but once you know it, fairly simple.
Still, the devil is in the details -- more questions on the way. -
Edited photo doesn't save to PC (iOS 8)
(iOS 8, iPhone 6) When I use the iPhone Photos app to edit a photo to, for example, remove red-eye and/or use the magic wand tool, then click "Done," it says it saves. I can go back into edit mode with that photo later and it always gives me the option to "Revert" to the original, so it obviously doesn't save the edited photo as a separate image. The problem is, when I transfer an edited photo to my computer (via Lightning cable) it saves the original, unedited photo on the computer. Is this a bug or is it intentionally not saving the edited photo?
Whenever I edit a photo and connect my iPhone to my Windows computer, there is a local disk icon(s) in the DCIM folder along with the original photo(s). Meaning, if I edit three photos, there will also be three local disk icons in there as well. If I revert a photo to its original state, the corresponding local disk icon disappears from the Windows Explorer window.LR 4.4 uses a large internal colorspace which is ProPhotoRGB with an sRGB gamma curve, so you might want to set your PS RGB workspace to ProPhotoRGB and see if that makes any difference.
What is the nature of the difference you’re seeing between the LR version and the PS-CS6-reimported version? Can we see a screenshot?

About a month ago I upgraded to IOS7 and decided that I wanted to put Garageband on my devices.
Yesterday, I went to the store to download and discovered two major disappointments:
a) Garageband no longer free (I get it, Apple can change their prices, yeah, but I was disappointed since Garageband was one of the reasons I finally upgraded)
b) I wasn't given the option to download the version for IOS 7 (free or not, I feel like I should be able to download the version that's compatible with my device.)
Instead, I'm offered to pay for an app that was previously free, and upgrade the OS on ALL of my mobile devices, which will eliminate compatibility with my laptop since I'm not sure it will handle Mavericks, thus forcing me to upgrade my laptop in order to download an app for my mobile device that until a few days ago was free.
This tendency to aggressively force upgrades is NOT part of the mentality I have come to associate with Apple. Perhaps I'm naiive, but this was not part of the company I have been faithful to since time of the IIe.
Perhaps I'm mistaken in my understanding, and there's an avenue for installing Garageband on my IOS7 device.

GarageBand 2.0 has never really been free. Last year, when GarageBand 2.0 had been released, it came preinstalled or for free as a package deal when buying a new iPad, iPod, iPhone with iOS 7 after a certain date in September last year. But GarageBand was never part of iOS 7.
If your device was older, you had to buy GarageBand 2.0. You could buy it for free, but had to buy an in-app purchase, to be able to use it. Now Apple has reversed the procedure. You pay for GarageBand (the same price as previously the in-app purchase), but now the in-App purchase is free. What you have to pay for GarageBand remains the same. So just buy the version you are seeing at the AppStore. It should not make a difference, if you pay for the basic app or for the in-App Purchase.
Now, GarageBand comes fro free with new iPhone 6 devices: Free Apple apps for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 8 -
Display and Edit Patterns in XML Tags
Using LiveCycle E2 V9.
The display and or Edit Patterns are not reflected in the XML of a submitted form.
While these display properly on the Adobe form on-screen, e.g.
$150,000.00 when the fields are are submitted the XML tag as reflects 150000.000000
Please advise whether there is something that I am doing incorrectly and or a fix for this?

This approach allows a user to see a formatted numeric value but the data remains as a number in floating point, integer, or binary value for further calculations as a number. If this were to change, then one would need to parse the numeric value as a character string back to a numeric value before performing any calculation.

Only two things you can upgrade on a MacBook is the Hard drive and Memory. It will not void the warranty. This is apples word on it. DIY Warranty Info

Be sure you can live with the graphics. If you do a lot of graphics work you might want to consider the MacBook Pro. I use my MacBook for video editing using Final Cut Express HD and it works well. The MB is also not very good for gaming if you are into that. The integrated chip set doesn't work well with 3D games.

Depending on your school may be a factor in what you choose. I use iWork and it is pretty good. You could also try NeoOffice or Open Office. They are good also. Office is supposed to be coming out with a new Mac version but not sure yet how it will work.
Be sure to ask for the student discount when you purchase the computer and software. It adds up. -

Still looking for additional instruments for GarageBand iOS7 by GarageBand
I have iOS7 GarageBand 2.0 (3090.25) on my ipad that has Smart Bass, Smart Keyboard, Smart Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, Guitar Amp, Audio Recorder, Sampler, Smart Drums, and Smart Strings. Although I see Apple - GarageBand written references online to additional add-in app instruments being available either through the app store or within the GaraBand app itself I still can't find them. My question is, are there really any more instruments available by GarageBand than the ones I just listed??? Thanks for past replies but they did not help solve this. I did not have an older version of the app installed which seemed one way to add instruments into the new version, there is no option to buy more within the GarageBand app I have, and the Apple app store does not list additional add-on instruments available as a add-in. Yes, that is possible. Each client would have his own license
though. You could then administer the sites from your own copy of
Contribute.
This may seem like a dumb question, but in going through
several tutorials it isn't clear to me whether Contribute is
intended for content editors all of whom work within one
organization and who all access a web server within their
organization's IT network to do this editing. I can't quite
understand how the software on the desktop on my client's computer
interfaces at all with settings that I set on my own installation.
Is some server technology needed here?
The editors don't have to be working in the same organization.
The connection is made through ftp-like connections from the users
computer to the server, and the administration of the site is
maintained at the server and kept up to date at the clients
computer. I suggest you download the trial version of Contribute
CS3 to check it out. -
Dilemma: New iPad or iPad 2 best for Garageband?
Hello,
I have a 1st generation iPad which I love, and it's been fine for everything I do, except for Garageband (which comprises roughly half of my iPad use). Since I love to just fill all 8 tracks with software instruments and effects, I spend a lot of time waiting for it to "optimize". The new edit notes feature seems really slow, also.
I'd like to upgrade, but I'm wondering if it's worth shelling out for The New iPad to solve this problem. Those of you using Garageband heavily on the iPad 2, do you also get the dreaded "optimization" waits, or is it not really noticeable?
I don't really care that much about the retina screen, or the cameras, or the 4G- I just want a fast, seamless Garageband experience. Can I get away with an iPad 2?

Setting an Edit pattern does not allow inputting values
I'm using a custom field (Phone Number North America) in a designer form. My users want to be able to edit and display value in (999) 999-9999 format. So I set the Display and Edit formats to text{'('999')' 999-9999}. Setting this pattern only displays the value in this format, but when I go to edit the field for the first time (when the field is blank), it allows inputting without any format. And when I want to edit an inputted value in the field, it does not even allow to change anything. It seems to be readonly/locked.
What I want to be able to do is that the field must allow the user to input values in the format that I set in the Edit pattern box. This must work even if the field has a phone number value already in it.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
FYI...My Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 version is: 9.0.0.2.20101008.1.734229 Cipher: 128-bit.

Keep the below script on exit event of the Phone Number dnt select any pattern for the field.

to convert all these files for garageband use (apple loops)
You will have to convert them to proper Apple Loops - add tags for key and tempo, category.
One way to do this would be to use GarageBand to add the wav files to the Loop Library one by one:
Find out the tempo and the key (if applicable) of one of your loops.
Set the key and tempo for your project.
Import a loop to a real instrument track and name the track, select the loop and use the command "Edit > Add to loop library". Set all the tags correctly, so the loopp will be properly indexed.
There used to be a SoundTrack Loop Utility, but I am not sure if it is still available somewhere. My old links don't work anymore.

For the record, I've been using Melodyne in GB for a couple of years now and couldn't get along without it. Had a singer scheduled for four songs that I needed finished demos for in two days. He came recommended, but I'd never actually heard him. turns out he had a voice like Robert Preston, if Robert Preston couldn't carry a tune or keep time. I was facing total failure. But I went ahead and recorded him, warts and all and hoped Melodyne would be up to the task. I even recorded part of one song in B-flat because he was stronger in that key than in G, which is what my other singer had recorded in.
Melodyne turned four utterly unworkable, unusable tracks into decent representations. I was even able to engineer harmony lines that were never recorded. It gives you more editing ability for singing tracks than you get with midi notes.
It's worth the price.
