Editing PDF in Photoshop CS3?

I've got a 15 page PDF file that I want to modify very slightly - one of the images needs to be changed. I seem to be able to open the file, but it opens as 15 images.
How do I save the images as a single PDF, like the original?

You should open the PDF in Acrobat Professional and use the touch up
object tool. Open the PDF in Photoshop will raserize everything.

To my way of thinking, this is correct behavior. When it's opened in PS, it *is* a JPEG to start with. You do your edits, then you SAVE as whatever you want. If you want it back to a JPEG, Save as, otherwise, you can save as PSD or TIFF and you won't have lost anything due to re-compression.
Converting a JPEG to PSD only to open it immediately in PS does nothing positive, and is just an extra step.

Interestingly I have found that if I modify a document in CS6 from an earlier CS3-CS5 document and save it - it works fine. But if I create a new document in CS6 the issue persists.
Looks like I will be modifying old documents for the time being

Please define "editable"? Do you mean "fillable", so that a person can easily type in the blanks? That doesn't seem the right job for Photoshop.

EncoreCS3 can't edit menu in photoshop CS3!

EncoreCS3 can't edit menu in photoshop CS3 because it things it is not installed even though it was running and I can edit pictures from bridge CS3 without problems. Any one have an idea???

Create multi-page PDF with photoshop CS3

Hi,
I have created 8 A4-sized PSD documents in Photoshop CS3 and I would like to create a single PDF document with 8 pages.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I would really appreciate any help that people can offer, as I am stumped!

add open files or point it to your folder of files
after you hit save will be a dialog box to choose options
make sure to make the proper selections for quality, based on your purpose
a PDF made for commercial printing will be large
If you want to put it on internet or email you need to select the setttings
for web based doc
OR you could open acrobat and create a multipage document
I think the default is 8.5x11
(not sure) but if you have unusual size paper
make sure to change the page layout to that

Edited PDF in photoshop and edit text in acrobat

I am trying to edit an existing PDF that has a blue backround and text on it. I think it was made in photoshop. I had to fix a logo on it to so I brought the pdf to photoshop and edited the logo. But now I can't edit the text in acrobat professional! I could before I changed the logo.
Is there something I need to do in photoshop first before I make it a pdf? Or should I just create the text in acrobat professional?

I just need to edit one of my pdf file as well as need to merge to pdf file. Is it possible to do editing task of pdf file in Photoshop? Looking forward for all your suggestions. Thanks.

As already mentionend – editing in Photoshop is bad, because vector graphics are converted into raster graphics.
There are a couple of useful editing features in Acrobat Pro, even in Acrobat 8 Pro, which I'm still using.
For instance:
– Insert, Append, Extract, Replace, Delete Pages.
– Edit text, for instance typos, using the Touch up text tool.
– Edit images by Photoshop, using the Touch up object tool:
Move an image directly to PS, edit there and bring it back directly into the PDF, using the original compression settings.
– Optimize file size.
Altogether one has a couple of chances for last minute corrections, often simpler than going back to the generating program
and extremely helpful, if this program is not or no more available.
Please tell us your special task, then we will see what we can do – not by Photoshop but by Acrobat Pro.

Problems editing quality in photoshop cs3 extended

i have a espsom stylus r2880, when i go into photo shop to print it i can edit the paper size but not the quality and if i go into preview on my mac i am able to edit it all, i have the latest empsom drivers.

Why am I unable to save an edited photo in Photoshop CS3 Mac

I received photos from a friend. I edit the photo and try to save and I get this prompt, "Could not complete your request because of a program error".
If I do a "Save As" I can save it.
Why is that?

I don't think more info is needed here. What is needed is a solution.
I have had the same problem and it seems to stem from the files being transferred on a DVD. Somehow that locks the files as to permissions. But when permissions are checked they are set to "Read and Write". And I have been unable to find a setting that will allow the edited file to be saved no matted where you try to save it. The only solution I have been able to come up with is "Save As". Then you end up with 2 files and have to remember to go back and delete the original file. WHAT A PAIN!!

Photoshop CS3 editing does not work in LR 2.0

Just upgraded to LR 2.0 and did the data base conversion everything works just fine. Btw, I did keep the LR 1.4 installed because I wanted to make sure I have a fallback in case I have a problem with LR 2.0.
I do however have a problem. I cannot edit images in Photoshop CS3. If I select any of the Edit in Photoshop CS3 menu options, CS3 fires up but no image is displayed in Photoshop. I did upgrade CS3 with the latest upgrades available from Adobe. I have no problems editing in CS3 under LR 1.4.
Any suggestion what may cause this?

Another "Edit In Photoshop CS3" Problem?

I've scanned other threads and although I found similar entries, I couldn't find an answer to the following:
When (in LR2.0 and LR2.1) I "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3" (by right clicking), the selected image correctly opens up in CS3. I can then edit the image but when I close it down and save it does not get re-imported into LR. Instead the edited image is saved in the same folder as the original and I have to manually reimport into LR.
Obviously LR1.x didn't have this problem as it created the duplicate prior to CS3 opening. However, I don't know if this problem I'm seeing is "as designed" in LR2 or whether it is a known bug, or if there is a setting I need to change in my installation.
If my PC/config has any bearing, I'm running Vista-64, AMD Phenom, 8GB RAM.

I've tried all the things suggested on http://www.adobe.com/go/kb404907. I actually went further than all this - I wiped the system drive clean and did a clean install of vista, lightroom and photoshop!
However, I think you have probably worked out what is happening. I too am on a multi-drive setup with my catalog/files on a separate drive to my system drive. And exactly the same thing appears to be happening to me. The edited image file (on exit from PShop) is being saved on the drive the original image is stored (same directory as you would expect), however I *think* lightroom is actually creating "dummy" (blank) files on the system drive (where lightroom is installed).
I say *think* because I can't check it now because my catalogue has just become corrupted. Luckily before it crashed I noticed that there were files shown on my C drive and I know for a fact I have not put any there. Unfortunately LRoom now thinks my main catalog is open by another application, even after a couple of reboots, so I can no longer get back in?!.
I'll try and sort the catalog out tomorrow (or recreate a new one) and confirm your suspicion. I'm sure you're right - Lroom is getting confused and assumes the edited files are on the same drive as it is installed!! ...

Editing with Photoshop CS3 from Photoshop Elements 8

I posted this in the PSE forum but didn't get any hits. Hopefulyy I'll be luckier here.
I have just purchased Photoshop Elements 8. I do all my editing usually with Photoshop CS3. I use Elements mainly for the organizer.
When I choose Edit with Photoshop from the organizer, it launches the application but the photo does not open in Photoshop. Nevertheless, there is a banner accross the photo in Elements that says "Edit in Progress". If I close Potoshop CS3, the banner stays there. I have to close Elements to get rid of it. If I choose "Open with Photoshop Elements" it works fine.
That used to work fine with my previous version of Elements 6.0. Everything works fine in CS3. Any suggestion on what I might be doing wrong?
I'm running Photoshop Elements and CS3 on Windows Vista 64 bit.

I have too much invested in Elements Organizer. 1000's of photos over a period of 5 years - tagged, version sets, stacked, albums, collections, ... I don't believe Bridge can do all of that.
I replicated the environment on a different PC with XP instead of Vista. Same problem. There seems to be a bug between Elements 8 and CS3. I don't have CS4 to test it with.
Come guys, with all the people in this forum, someone must have hit the problem or has an idea of what's going on. I logged a case with Adobe support but I doubt this will be a quick resolution.

Sorry I was out of town for a week so couldn't respond. I use CS3 on a Windows XP machine (2GHz Intel, 1 GB RAM).
Can you please see if the photograph filename or the folder path contains any special characters like aprostrophe, ampersand and all? If yes, rename your files / folders and try again.
