Editing photoshop web galleries in dreamweaver

Hi I am new to web design and i have all of these galleries
that photoshop has designed for me. I am using Cs2 on a pc and the
gallery i used is called flash 1. I would like to move the
thumbnails to the side and also put links to my blog and other
things on that web gallery. If anybody can please help that would
be great. I imported my html file into dreamweaver and it works but
in dreamweaver it says enable javascript i know that just means
that the people that come to my site that do not have javascript
enable will have to enable it. Anyways if anybody could help that
would be greatly appreciated thank you very much for your
time.

There is probably some markup in your page that only shows
when
JavaScript is turned off. Something like this:
<noscript>enable javascript</noscript>
This displays in the DW Design View because JavaScript is not
running.
This is not really a problem, but you can hide it using:
View > Noscript content

I assume you don't know manual coding and editing. Given that pretty strong assumption, I'm guessing you'd have a loooooooong road ahead of you before you could even come close to being able to do what you want.
Instead, maybe you should check out the free web gallery app at http://jalbum.net . Lots of free templates and an active community that keeps cranking out more.

  • Customizing Photoshop Web Gallery in Dreamweaver

HOW DO I STOP WIDTH OF IMAGE FROM STRETCHING? (height is in
    proportion)
    more details:
I've almost finished customizing a Photoshop web gallery in
Dreamweaver, which is completely confusing for me (i'm a novice)
and any head way i made in changing the template was mainly from
trial and error as it is very unclear in the instrutions on how to
    edit.
I finally have a template that is starting to look the way I
want with the thumbnails at the bottom in an iframe and with the
larger image above with arrows on either side. I edited it so the
only thing that's changed in size on the image is the Height so the
    width can change automatically.
When the practice gallery I made first opens I've got it
displaying each photo for 4 seconds then going to the next, there's
also the option to pause. While it's playing when it first opens
everything looks fine, the image sizes are right the height is
correct and there's no stretching. BUT as soon as I click on a
thumbnail at the bottom it decides to stretch the width of the
image to fit the table, and then every image after in the slide
show is also stretched. Even if i pause the slides and select a
different image thumb it displays the streched image and not the
proper proportioned image that is displayed when the page is first
    opened.
Anyone know how to fix this??????
Any help at all would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

My advice is to get a 3rd party gallery creation program.
Many are free and most are better than Adobe's half-baked offerings.

  • Editing a Web Template in Dreamweaver

Is there a way I can edit a template permanantly in Dreamweaver?
I use one of the provided templates and use the 'Contact' field as an external link. However I need two links not one, (apart from the header), so if there is a way to add an extra link would be great.

    Take a look at these:

  • Photoshop Web Gallery and Dreamweaver

I created a web gallery in photoshop 9 and i'm trying to edit
in Dreamweaver but the message that appears is: "You must enable
Javascript to view this content."... where should i do this? i
downloaded the Java programa from Sun but it seems not to work.
    what should i do?

    Cheryl,
Could you post a link?  That's always helpful.
If you are using Photoshop to create the web gallery, you don't have to worry about sizing your images or Save For Web, etc.  Photoshop will do all of that for you when it builds the web gallery.  You do need to crop the images as necessary, but don't downsize anything -- just leave your original RAW, JPG or TIFF files at their original size and PS will do the rest.
I assume that in PS you are using File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery and setting all of the various parameters... yes?  In the Web Photo Gallery dialog, Options > Large Images > Output, what setting are you using for JPEG Quality?  Try Maximum (10) and see if that helps how your images look.

  • How do I add .swf created with Photoshop web gallery to Dreamweaver page.?

I've used Photoshop CS3 to create a Flash Web Gallery. I put that folder in my site root in dreamweaver, but when I add the .swf to the webpage- it only shows as a white box. Even when I press "play" nothing happens. What else needs to be done? All of the files created with the .swf are also already in the root directory

That would seem to be a question for the DW forum

  • Trouble with Photoshop Web Galleries

    Hello,
I am trying to create a web gallery. I have created several in the past, but I have a problem with the way the captions display.
Here is a gallery from an event at my campus last week:
    http://www.alasu.edu/video/forensics/gallery.swf
In order to get the captions to display, you have to click the "?" icon on the bottom right. It's the same way with all the galleries I have created, but I would like for the captions to show by default without having to click something.
    PLEASE HELP!

  • Insertion web gallerie dans Dreamweaver CS5.5

    Bonjour,

  • Edit The Web Gallery

Is it possible to edit a web Gallery in Dreamweaver or Flash that was created in CS4 Bridge?
I like the standard web gallery produced I just need to add descriptive text under the pictures.
I have about 15 web galleries to make with about 50 photos each.
I am using Flash and dreamweaver to produce this web site and looking for some automation.
    Any recommendations on another way?
    Thanks

    Curtis,
Not trying to be flippant, but since the galleries are
    Flash
galleries, it seems this question is better asked in the Flash or Dreamweaver forum.

  • How Do I Import A Photoshop CS4 Template into Dreamweaver CS4

Ok. Here's the deal, my friend and I spent alot of time working in Photoshop to come up with a nice template. He's even done all the coding to animate the buttons for standard, hover over, and click and all that. It's really cool, the buttons slide back and "lock" into place dependent upon which page you're on. However, I want to take all of that information and plug it into my website without loosing the button functionality. Unfortunately, every time I try to put the photoshop web template into Dreamweaver, it always converts it into an image. So, how do I add my complete photoshop web template and all it's functionality into Dreamweaver?

I'm afraid Photoshop is a graphics program ill suited for generating good HTML and CSS code.  Use Photoshop to create your images only. Use DW to build your HTML, CSS and menus.
Have a look at this tutorial:

  • Dreamweaver CS3 not displaying all PhotoShop CS4 galleries correctly

I maintain and support a camera club website for the Peoria Camera Club in Peoria, Illinois.
I recently added 6 new galleries to the website.
    These are the current galleries: Nature 1,Nature 2,Nature 3,Nature 4,Open 1,Open 2,Open 3,Open 4,Open 5,PJ 1,Creative 1,Creative 2,
    Urban Landscape.
    These galleries are located at
    http://www.peoriacameraclub.com/competitions/Gallerys/gallery.html
    Here's the story:
Running a browser test on my local location everything works perfectly and all of the images are accessible and work smoothly.
After uploading to my server, a number of galleries are not working correctly.
    I have followed this scenario.......
All of the galleries seem to be functioning correctly except for Nature 4, Open 3, Open 4, and Creative 2.
I recreated Creative 2 from scratch and re-uploaded with no effect
First, all of these galleries worked in the testing mode using internet explorer on my laptop.
All of the images appeared and ran perfectly.
Unfortunately, the four previously mentioned galleries displayed a smaller number of images although the count on the page is correct.
I’ve re-uploaded the galleries using Dreamweaver including the gallery html page.
That accomplished nothing; things were the same.
I used Filezilla to re-upload the 4 galleries plus the gallery html page.
Filezilla runs a lot faster that Dreamweaver.
    Again, nothing changed.
I have no explanation why the majority of the galleries are working and a few are incomplete.
These galleries were created in PhotoShop CS4 Bridge.
I have searched the web and the forums at Adobe and NAPP and other bread crumbs from the net.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Jim

It seems to fail at the point where there are missing images. For example, Nature 4 fails to display thumbnails in image 11, which according to its group.xml is the same as the following 404 Not Found images.
    /competitions/Gallerys/Nature%204/resources/images/thumb/GREAT%20BLUE%20HERON%20&%20CHICK%20by%20Rich%20Seeman.jpg
    HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
    /competitions/Gallerys/Nature%204/resources/images/medium/GREAT%20BLUE%20HERON%20&%20CHICK%20by%20Rich%20Seeman.jpg
    HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
And likewise for Open 3. It falls apart on the third image according to its groups.xml file and that corresponds exactly with these missing images.
    /competitions/Gallerys/Open%203/resources/images/thumb/03%20Birdhouse%20&%20Flowers%20by%20Veronica%20Anderton.jpg HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
    HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
    /competitions/Gallerys/Open%203/resources/images/medium/03%20Birdhouse%20&%20Flowers%20by%20Veronica%20Anderton.jpg HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
    HTTP/1.x 404 Object Not Found
I didn't check the other two galleries, but it is probably similar. I am guessing that you somehow forgot to upload those images or they got uploaded to the wrong folders.
If you have FireFox, I recommend getting the LiveHTTP Headers and/or FireBug add-ons to help find these 404 Not Found headers.
BTW, I realize you already have a ton of files online, but you should be aware that it is not considered safe to use spaces in filenames or directory names. http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1738.txt

  • Insert Photoshop Web Gallery swf file into Dreamweaver

So i tried to take a shortcut, and created a flash photoshop
web gallery and placed the "gallery.swf" file into my html file in
Dreamweaver. However, it is showing a blank white screen (i'm
guessing it can't find the images?) but when I view it on my hard
drive, it is working fine, just not in dreamweaver or any browser,
even after I upload to my server. Any help would be GREATLY
appreciated!! I've also tried pasting the body html code from
"index.htm" that photoshop creates, as well as move my image files
to the root folder where the swf is, but that doesn't work either.
I have my scripts in the same directory, and not in
    subfolders.

    Kizat727 posted in macromedia.dreamweaver:
    > and the link is
    >
    > www.micromediapubs2.com/dyers/portfolio.html
That page is very different from the code you posted and I
    know nothing
    about Geoff Stearns' FlashObject code.
For the above link, I see nothing in the source code that
    attempts to
load a .swf file. However, it is linking to
    AC_RunActiveCon.js file in
    the wrong place:
    GET /dyers/assets/flash/pages/AC_RunActiveContent.js HTTP/1.1
    Referer:
    http://www.micromediapubs2.com/dyers/portfolio.html
    HTTP/1.x 404 Not Found
    The file is actually here:
    /dyers/Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js
So if you actually do have a page in the dyers/ folder that
    links to a
.swf file, just make sure the link to the .js file is
    correct.
    Most likely, change this:
    <script src="assets/flash/pages/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>
    to this:
    <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>

  • Creating web galleries in CS2 on my iMac "makes Photoshop crash."  WHY?

I have a newer iMac 24" 2.8GHz and I am trying to use CS2 on it. But when I try to create a web gallery it crashes. Does anyone know why?

    Christian,
What Jim is referring to is this knowledgebase article:
It also has a link to a download to fix this problem with the cs2 web galleries. But basically, CS2 is not all that compatible with Leopard so be prepared for oddnesses at any time.
