Editing pop-up choices

Is there a way to edit the selection of a pop-up list using only the keyboard? In some other OS X apps I use, this is accomplished via hitting <space> to open the user-defined pop-up list, followed by the familiar scheme of using letter or arrow keys followed by return to make a menu choice. Between random key-combo experimenting and searching Numbers' help and keyboard shortcut listings, I've yet to find any method to open a pop-up list other than using the mouse.
As it stands, this makes any substantial data entry very annoying with pop-up lists. My normal workflow for this would be to simply tab/arrow around the table entering values or making updates, but this doesn't appear to be possible when pop-up lists are in use.
While I'm at it, I'll also observe another UI wart related to pop-ups: pop-up definitions in the formatting dialog can't be reordered, only added and removed.

That's a font issue you are seeing.
As to the reason. It would depend on the workflow used.
It could be that the original replacement text was typed in a text-editor using a particular font and then copied and pasted into the comment in Acrobat. When you copy and paste text, if the font that is applied changes it could be that the new font doesn't support particular characters, in those cases a small square box can appear.

I can't edit my donwloads. The organizer photos have an orange icon at the top left corner and the find offline volumem - edit pops up when I try to edit the pictures. Also, the downloaded pictures don't show up in "My Pictures" document.

Update/Edit Pop-Up Menu Not Saving

Hi All
First time here...
Is anyone else having trouble updating/editing pop-up menus on slices? I seem to be able to add only one new menu item at a time. If I add more, it doesn't save the changes. Now I'm trying to go back and change a link on one of the menu items and it doesn't remember it at all.
I'm fairly new to Fireworks but this isn't giving me a whole load of confidence in it...
Any ideas? Known bug?

What version of Fireworks are you using?
If you're building pop up menus for a real site, The FW ones are the worst option to use (even if they are working) because they are a PITA to maintain after the fact. As of CS4, Dreamweaver doesn't even support native editing of the menus, so you have to go back to FW (or dive into the code itself) to make changes.

Cant see effect editing pop up window

So I'm using Garageband and this new problem starts happening. When I try to manually edit the settings on an effect (like reverb) there is normally a pop up window. Well, now there isn't as you can see from this screen capture the pop up window called reverb should be in the forefront:

But it's not. The only time I had a similar problem was when the window was opening so far off the edge of the screen that I didn't see it. I don't think that's the case here. I tried restarting garageband, restarting the computer, even repairing permissions (who knows). I tried resizing the pixels of my screen. no luck.

PSE 9 Fun Edits Pop Art Problem

I'm new to PSE 9 and tried the new Pop Art transformation in the Guided Fun Edits section. There are two styles. The first of the two converts the image to a Bitmap. Next comes the color fill adjustment layer. The last step is Duplicate Image, which is supposed to duplicate the image with four different pop colors. Unfortunately, the four pictures are all cyan. There's no problem with the second version of the Pop Art Fun Edit, which posterizes and adds the neon glow before duplicating with the four pop colors. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the first version is only cyan? How can I correct this?

Edit Pop in Waveform Editor and File Editor

After downloading the current update for Logic Pro I have found several bugs in Soundtrack Pro. The most disturbing is an audio pop at the edit point in Soundtrack Pro when you delete audio in either the Waveform Editor or the File Editor. And, yes, I am using zero crossings. This has not happened before and has now rendered Soundtrack Pro unusable as an editor for my projects. Has anyone else had the same problem? Is there a work-around or some other solution? This is happening on muptiple and varied systems and has not happend before.

Still having the same problem and a few more. I have come to the conclusion the problem is bigger than first thought. Finally resorted to do a clean install of the OS etc. and all the updates and start frrom square one.
Note to Apple: The insturctions on how to re-install Soundtrack and Compressor by themselves will not work and are not accurate or detailed enough. If time is important to you it is best to backup your files and start from scratch.

Tab between pop-up choices

This little box will pop up in itunes (and many other apps), asking me in this case if im sure I want to delete this file
Is there away to move the selection over to [Move to Trash] with out having to go to my mouse/trackpad and select it?
P.S. I know that [esc] will be cancel and [return/enter] will be keep file.

When looking at the + menu in an FLA file that is AS3 (on the computer where Flash CS4 is acting wierd and another computer where it's doing what it's supposed to), and when looking at an AS file on a different computer (where Flash CS4 is still working properly), the menu choices look like this:

ask for a way to edit popupMenus.

Pop up choices have suddenly decreased

When typing in an ActionScript file, there are auto-complete options that pop up with choices based on what you have typed, like when doing import statments. Mine have suddenly decreased for an unknown reason to me. Any ideas on how to get ALL the options back? Here is a screen shot with my limited choices...

The "Edit In" dialogue choices

In the develop module the edit in dialogue gives me the choices of CS5 which I have, Elements 7 which I have, but NOT Elements 10 which I also have. Is there a way to include this as a choice for editing directly from Lightroom?

Assuming that you're on Windows 7 64-Bit, do the following in LR:
Edit -> Preferences -> External Editing Tab
In the section "Additional External Editor" click "Choose":
Navigate to the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe", select and "Choose" it:
This screen shot shows the file for PSE9, but PSE10 should be the same with a different folder name
Back in the External Editing Tab, choose the FileFormat, ColorSpace, BitDepth, Resolution and Compression you want to pass to PSE10:
(I'd suggest TIFF, ProPhoto RGB, 8Bit, 240dpi, None)
Choose the FileNaming template you want to use
Then choose "Save Current Settings as New Preset" from the "Preset" dropdown:
Enter a name for the Preset, i.e. "Photoshop Elements 10":
Click "Create" and "OK"
Photoshop Elements 10 will now be shown in the EditIn dialog in LR.

You may want to check if the option '''Remember passwords for sites''' is still enabled in '''Tools''' (or '''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options'''. If it is enabled, click '''Exceptions...''' and and make sure the particular site is not listed.

Can you link specific questions to list variables where it pops up choices depending on the question?

If i am asking a specific question for example:
Alpha Sector, then if Alpha Sector was selected then you must list what POSITION on ALPHA work is being performed.
Alpha = Alpha Position 1
            Alpha Position 2
            Alpha Position 3
            Alpha Position 4
            Alpha Position 5 , then depending on which of these are selected, it also has another question as well. What will be the FREQUENCY on that SPECIFIC POSITION.
Say that Alpha was SELECTED, then work is being performed on ALPHA Position 1, then another popup here should allow another question to be answered: What is the FREQUENCY for ALPHA Position 1 ? then once this was asked if Alpha Position 2 was also SELECTED, then go through the same above ROUTINE.
Alpha = Alpha Position 2 was also selected, then another popup here should allow another question to be answered: What is the FREQUENCY for ALPHA Position 2 ? and SO ON.
How is this accomplished? Would i have to create new pages then link to them or what?

Thanks for your suggestions, Magnus, you really have had a good think for me - I appreciate that!
What I am doing is report writing in which 90% of the report is the same for everyone. Except the cover page with Name and Address details, and Report title; the initial section which is the same for everyone except for specifics such as amount to invest, reason for investment, term to invest over, things like that.
The end of the report is the recommendations section which is where I use freetext to create a bespoke solution - this cannot be automated.
Just automating the cover page and the intro section save me huge amounts of time which I can then use on research and fund analysis, leaving the principles of investment section pretty much the same for everyone, as here I'm describing the principle and theory.
After I created this Report Template my average report creation time went down from about 3 to 4 hours, to about 45 minutes. I guess the automation itself doesn't save as much time as the templating does, but it allows me to concentrate on the important bit and not worry if I have left something out - or in - that changes the overall thrust of the report.
I cannot load Lotus WorpPro on Parallels, nor on Virtual PC, so the lack of automation really is a pain here. I see it as a weakness of Apple products for business, as I am sure Microsoft do which is why they have dropped VBA support for Office 2008.
I have got NeoOffice as well as OpenOffice for Mac on my system, but really they aren't atable enough to use, and the formatting is pretty flaky. It certainly isn't completely consistent with Office itself.
So, I am left with the conclusion that progress only means a reduction in features!
But maybe I'm missing something?

Does finder support an "edit" choice like "open" other than "open with"

I would like to know if I can configure finder to provide an "Edit" link (or choice) other than "Open with".

To differentiated, for example, given a file like "myproject.pl" (a PERL script).
"Open" would run the PERL program.
"Edit" would open an editor with "myproject.pl".
I realize that doing an "Open With" and selecting the editor is not that big a deal but I was looking to short cut that.
I am interested in Finder in general and changing how it is configured and configurable. This is a beginning on doing more with Finder.

Is it only when the lens Correction develop module section has been used that using CS4 as the second external editor has to be used?
If that section has not been used and I automatically click on Edit in Cs4 (no pop up choice box) the appearance in CS4 looks to me as though it has retained the global adjustments and any brush adjustments. Is this wishful thinking?
I have to retrain my brain paths to use the second external editor Photoshop.exe (64bit) editor and it doesn't always happen.

Other than the lens corrections, everything else is *almost* identical using CS4/5.7. Unless you're pixel peeping, you probably won't notice any difference. I think it was just sharpening halos that were tweaked, from memory.
