Editing request by Approver in OIM

I am new to OIM and the requirement is like this, there will a textbox (customer ID) and a drop down (Roles) in the application instance form. User will just be entering the customer ID and will submit. The request goes to admin for approval. The admin here will be selecting the role from the dropdown.
I have never seen that if the approver can modify the request data. Is it possible? If so how?

Customizing OIM request or approval task pages

Hi,
I need help in changing the layout of a particular screen in OIM 11g R1. Below is the scenario:
User submit request.
Request is assigned to corresponding manager(s).
If request is assigned to multiple managers, one of the managers will ‘Claim’ the request.
Manager opens the request details and click on ‘Additional Information’.
Request is again assigned back to requester.
Requester will open the request from ‘Approval Task’ to submit additional information to approver.
In this page, request is divided into two parts i) Basic details, Additional Request details, Request information ii) Role/Request details.
By default, ‘Additional Request Information’ response section can be completely viewed using scrollbar OR can be dragged down. But our requirement is to align the page such that no adjustment should be made to page to view complete content of the page. Can anyone let me know how to do this? I wanted to know in which request/approval task ADF pages files (JSFF) are available to customize. I could see only user page (JSFF) to customize, but not related to request/approval task pages.

Pending Tasks works in the following manner:
- User : Any task assigned to a user remains to be visible under its pending tasks unless re-assigned to someone else by the user/admin.
- Group : Any task which is assigned to a group would not directly come to the user work flow. Whenever you login to OIM, the system checks all your groups and then do a smart calculation for these assigned tasks. So if the user is removed from a group then it would not see these tasks anymore.
Now for your case, the Group=Business Owner itself is changed. So for new requests the assignment would be to done to the new group but existing tasks remains in the work-flow of the older group, if still required them you might want to re-assign it using OIM API's.

OIM 11g email notification(request submitted, approved, reassigned, etc)

Dear All,
How to emplement e-mail notifications in 11g?
It looks like there some notification templates available. But how those could be tied to different stages of the request? (request submitted, approved, reassigned, etc). Is there any authomation available or everything should be created now manually in the workflow? SOA suite has notification service. I suspect this is what should be used now.
How notification templates are used in the workflow?
If you can provide steps and/or example this would be very helpful.

OIM11g - Approval Workflow - Requester and Approver is same

Hi All,
I have a scenario where , requests are approved by a group. ( Resource Owners group).
and if anyone needs access to this resource, the members of the group will approve the requests.
What if any member of the "Resource Owners" groups raises a request on the same object ?? OIM functionally sends it to the group for approval, and it will become a self approval and is a conflict.
How to avoid this kind of scenarios.

AFAIK I haven't seen any system property to stop this. SOA does not care about who the requester is and who are the approvers. The way Oracle has impletmented the identity service for OIM in SOA does not handle this. Seems there is no SOD checks. Open a SR which I believe should be taken as a ER.
Thus the workaround would be to get all the members of the approver group less the requester and assign to all the members. The member list should be comma seperated user ids.

I would like to know how to upload leave request for approval. I understand that i can use IT2001 for leave history. Can i do an LSMW for leave request for approval for 100 personnels? Thank you

Data stored in IT2001 are not for ESS approval. ESS leave request data is stored in a host of tables which start with PTREQ. You can do PTREQ* lookup in SE11 and findout. There might be 3 or 4 tables which you need to look into.
PTREQ_HEADER
PTREQ_ATTABSDATA
and maybe one more table.
Then you can do a LSMW.

To my knowledge you cant have budget approval process in standard SAP, unless you use Appropriation Requests (under Investment management) for budget request

Wierd Issue In Approval Policy OIM 11.1.1.5.0 BP03

Folks,
We are facing a very weird issue in our dev env . We have developed approval workflow for Assign role request type .
Here's what we have done .
- Template level is auto -approved (via checkbox)
- Request level approval policy (No rules) is created and is auto - approve (tried with both via check box and defaultAutoApproval SoA composite)
- Operational level policy (Rule = Role Name = ABC) is created and SOA composite is assgined .
Now, whenever we raise a request , request level approval is never auto approved , intead the approval task is assigned to xelsysadm always ???

Hi,
As you said there is no rule created for request level approval policy if so, default policy gets evaluated for request level and hence default approval process gets triggered.
to suppress this default approval policy and approval process to trigger, you need to create rules for your request level policy and make it auto approval.

Self registration request and approval process

We are looking to implement self-registration with a bit of workflow when we move to Portal 10.1.2 A system where a user requests access, their request is approved (or denied) by another person and then an account is created with appropiate permissions.
We are currently using an Excel spreadsheet e-mailed back and forth, we have begun designing the process with standard forms and reports in it's own schma, but the last piece will still need to be manual (creating the account).
Does anybody know of a way to automate this process of account creation?
Does Application Server 10.1.2 self-registration have similar capabilities? if so, where could I look to learn what it can do?

How to change the content in request at approval stage

Dear experts,
We have a requirement like following:
Frist, User submits a new account request, the field "Position" is set to cerntain value, eg. sales support
Then, Manager should have the capbility to change the content in field "Position", such as changeing sales support to sales manager, when he approves the request.
However, it seems that only very few fields can be changed after request submition.
How could we configure AC to let the managers can change the content in request at approval stage?

In the stage for the Manager set the "Change Request" to 'Yes'. This will open up a few fields for you, including user group, role validity dates, etc. I do not believe this will open up position though.

Multi-Approval in OIM!

hi all,
how do i do multi-approval in OIM? if i get a list of approvers dynamically from an external resource say a db (using an adapter), how do i generate MULTI-OR approvals and also MULTI-AND approvals.
also, can one process in OIM call another process? is there a SUB-PROCESS concept?

Craete two tasks in Approval workflow App1 and App2. App1 will be non-conditional and App2 will be conditional and App2 will be dependent on App1.
In the responses tab of App1, select Approve and below in Task to Generate tab you have to select task App2.
It's multilevel approval workflow.

Enrollment Status remain Request Despite approved by Manger

We are facing an issue sinc we have move on r12, rightn now when manger approve Enrollment requestn for the class but system don't update status Request to Place. However user got notification for approval which message is "Class enrollment for "XXX EMPLOYEE" has been approved."

Usually after the request is approved and if there is any pending task in provisioning it goes to 'Post Operation Processing Initiated' status. If 'Task to Object Status' mapping is not done properly the request stays in the same status even though all the tasks are completed.

In your case it is going to 'Operation Initiated' status when notification is attached. Can you tell where have you triggered notification? In SOA approval task or in Provisioning process? If it is in SOA check whether proper status is returned to the callback webservice after that. Else if it is in provisioning check for task object status mapping.

Does editing document trigger Approval Procedures checking?

Can anyone confirm that a document go through Approval Procedures checking when it is being added? It does not trigger the checking when it is edited?
I notice if I add a document, the Approval Procedures kicks in, but if I edit a document (so that it meet the Approval Procedure criteria) the Approval Procedure does not appear.

Thanks Rahul, if the document initially does not trigger approval procedure but after changes it should trigger approval procedure, for example:
Credit Limit $1,000, Outstanding Balance $800, user created a Sales Order of $150, added to the system and edit it to $250 after that. The editing should trigger approval procedure but it doesn't.

It would be great help if someone can provide me sql query by which i can find out how many requests are pending for approval for one user ?
