Editing rule in separate panel in CC like in CS5

In Dreamweaver CS5 when I wanted to edit a style on a style sheet, I would highlight the style in the css panel and there was a little pencil icon which when clicked would open the whole rule in a separate window. This panel listed all the options you could click on for the rule.
In Dreamweaver CC you only get those choices when you are first creating a style, not editing it. Is there a way to set up CC like CS5 for this? I found it much easier to work with.

To get the old CSS Panel back into DWCC hit Ctrl + Alt/Cmnd + Shift + P
I'm not 100% sure it works exactly the way it did in DWCS5, but it's much closer then the CSS Designer.
From what I've heard, the CSS Designer is powerful once you have it figured out though.
Personally, I write all my css by hand.

"Design" view as a separate panel for dual-display

I just started using CS6 and was really hoping to see a new workflow enhancement for dual-display production with the "Design" view. I code all of my markup by hand in the code view. I would love to see the "Design" view in a separate panel that I could drag over to my second display by itself. Sort of like designers using "Code Inspector" as a panel on their second display. But for me, to maximize efficiency, I need the code to be closest to all of the menu bars and panels. I just want to make a code edit, click the DW "refresh" button, and glance at the layout in a "Design" without having to do additional clicking or moving pointer from display to display, ya know? Using browsers I have to save the file(s), upload the file(s), wait for the transfer to complete, move my pointer to the second display, click the refresh button, THEN look at the layout. Ugh. Been doing this for years, and really am tired of it. I have looked through the commands and online material hoping to find an update. Is this still a pipe dream?

Apart from using the Code Inspector, I don't believe this is possible. It sounds like a sensible suggestion, though. You can file a feature request through the form at http://adobe.ly/DWBug.

I have been reasearching how to do this on the internet, but I haven't found an easy explanation yet. My family is going crazy over each others imessages being sent to others in the family and not being able to use FaceTime because of conflicting email addresses. I have read that if each person gets their own iCloud account, this would work. However, I need to know what to do after I set everyone up with their own iCloud account. Do I make that the default email address to be contacted or can they still use their hotmail email addresses. Any help- with easy explanation- would be much appreciated!!

We do this in my family now. We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores). Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud. That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup. That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice. You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.

Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response. What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures. Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures. 1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

I have edited photos in i-photo and would like to have them printed. How do i burn them to disc in a format that a windows PC system can read. I am in India and this is definitely "microsoft" country! thanks for taking the time to guide me.

Select the pics in the viPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export them to a folder on the desktop. Burn that to disk with the Finder's burn command. Result. A disk with a folder of images that any machine can understand.

Yes as long as they are both used by the license holder. Basically you should be the only individual using the software on either computer.

Guided Edit (Right hand side panel not visible

The Guided Edit, the right side panel of editing choices is not showing on my Mac.
I have tried uninstall and then re-install, but still have the same problem.

I can't think of a way to show them in tabs, but Mail lets you open as many Mail list windows as you like. Set the Mail window to show just the inbox for Account A, then choose File/New Viewer Window and set that window to show just the Account B inbox. Arrange the windows next to each other.
I open multiple viewer windows all the time when dragging messages from inboxes to various folders, it saves a lot of time.

"Edit photo in CS 5" command from lightroom crashes CS5

Using Lihgroom 3 - MAC OS X 10.6.8.
From the develpoe module I will mouse click control - chose "Edit Photo in CS 5" with lightroom adjustments. CS5 Opens briefly but when the pictures begins to display CS5 crashes. I have been using Lightreoom and CS5 for about a year without problem. Suddenyl, for no apparent reason all this started. I haven't added any addtional software to computer. Any ideas?

An update. I found an article at http://blog.widen.com/blog/industrial-retouch-and-color. Discussed are crashes in CS5 in OS X 10.6.4. I am now using 10.6.7, but was experiencing this problem before updating to 10.6.7. At any rate, the article talkes about problems in the OpenGL, and one suggestion is to switch to Basic OpenGL ( in preferences) from Normal mode. This of course until there is an updates fix. I did do this and now I am able to open all files under the Edit photo in CS5 without crashing. Don't know enough about all this, but whatever it did, my crashes are gone for now. Thank you again for your input.

Is this with a Mac system? If yes, then Window > Application frame, or so I believe.

Edit Ruler Bug in CC 2014?

I created area type object and then edited the tab ruler by changing the "second" line indent. When I attempted to reset the indent to "0" the setting would not change. I also tried resetting it numerically, same result. Finally, AI CC 2014 crashed (no, I did not save the crash report).
I resaved the file as CS5 compatible and it worked flawlessly in CS5.
Once again I find myself relying on the venerable CS5 to accomplish my work.
This zipped file contains a CC2104 and CS5 version of the VERY SIMPLE file. Can someone try to edit the Tab Ruler in CC2014 and see if the indent will change? If this is caused by user error please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Note: The area text shape has an assigned style and each line of text is assigned a "Character Style".

That is very strange. I can see that you can move the CTI, but yet, the panel is not indicating that it is selected.
What happens if you use a shortcut key to change the focus. (Shift-3) ?

Recently/probably fixed bug:
- Restoring keypad mode in command win after resizing
- Files with macros work
- Opening vim in pyfmii and resizing gives an EINTR that will now be ignored.
- Resizing to a really small window caused a crash/infinite loop
Different behavior/features that I won't change:
- if with tab-completion you have a full match and there are more matches it will behave as if there was just a full match
- e.g.: dirs: "aa, aab" type: "aa<TAB>" -> "aa/"
- F2 advanced menu is not context sensitive like mc's
- you can't browse search results from '/'
- no bookmarks, ^\ will quit python actually
- F2-@ doesn't put the cursor at the start, F7/mkdir doesn't add a space so you can't begin typing right away
- mark all items marks directories too
- cd'ing to symlinks is like cd'ing to the actual file, unlike in bash/mc. I don't think this can be fixed in python

I just realized that alt+1-9 is commonly used in WMs, am I right? And the same for Alt+F1-F9
CTRL+1-9 doesn't seem possible because CTRL+1 = 1 and CTRL+4=^\ which, as I said before, immediately quits python.
CTRL+F1-F9 is possible. I had previously bound ^F5-^F8 to a no-confirm version.
Shift+F1-F9 is also possible

Xterm Shift+F1 = F13
URxvt Shift+F1 = F11

EDIT: that leaves CTRL+F1-F9. I will remove all no-confirm keys. I have also put the command of F5-F8 in the configuration file so having two versions is not necessary (this will be in the next git push)
BTW Alt+1-9 (and now CTRL+F1-9) is used for setting the selected dir in the panel of the number (or cwd if a file), and it is also used in the command box to change panels (like regular 1-9) (after all you want "1-9" and "!-(" for commands)
And I noticed that the unicode space does not just not work on VC but also any non-unicode term like aterm. A normal space does work in all except in screen where it will cut off. If you go to the next window and back the bar restores, but any movement will cut it off again. Maybe there's a setting in screen that can control it. For now I removed all hardcoded unicode.

Screen behaves differently with "bce on" and "bce off",
off -> the long selector line is not drawn at all
on -> the long selector line is only drawn after refresh, and disappears when changing selection

aterm also seems to not work with curs_set(2) but it does with 1 and that is the same for everything (maybe not VC, haven't tried).

I'd like to confirm if it's possible to convert all rules in Calc Manager to a .rle (as it is in the Classic application). As far as I know, it's not possible, but I'd like to double check.

If I understand your question correctly, you can do this with the latest 11.1.1.x release and later releases.

Video Production - 2-angle video editing rules

I'm curious to know from the professionals if there are any specific rules or guidelines that should be followed when editing multiple-angle video for general purpose viewing.
I'm currently producing a two-angle video of a stage play performance. There is quite a bit of room for creative play with the two angles, but in order to maintain a professional end-product, I'd like to hear from those of you who have worked with multiple angles before.
The answer may seem obvious: Don't make erratic cuts, but hopefully you can give me more than that.

Does it matter how much time elapses between cuts?
Is there anything to scoff at if you hold one angle for two minutes, another for thirty seconds, and completely disregard any sense of formal time standards between the two?
Is it really just a style choice, or is there a code of conduct amongst the production community?
I have fantastic film and audio to work with. I'm very pleased in that department, and am just wanting to ensure that I'm doing it justice.
Also, I like quick cuts without the cross fade. With instances where some sort of transition is necessary, I would ere on the side of a cross fade, because it's less obtrusive to the end viewer. Are there any other transition's that adequately fulfill this same role?
