Editing Songs In I-Tunes

If I take a song from my cd with a hidden track at the end of it (last track on the K-os CD) and theres that long silence, how do I cut it out, can you edited in I-tunes?

I have done this, and my recommendation is edit the source .wav file (after ripping) in a .wav editor.
This way you can see/hear what you're doing, and save it so you never have to repeat the process.
If you need help with .wav editors or .mp3 converters (I think iTunes does the latter as well), send me an email.

I'm signed up to the Cloud and itunes match - the whole game. I have always been able to edit song information in I-tunes. Today, I downloaded a song, and I cannot edit the genre. I right click on the name of the song, select "get info," and get the page, but the page is sort of faded. I cannot edit anything. I recently joined Match, do you think this has anything to do with it?

Double check to see that the song file, or the folder it resides in (the ‘iTunes’ folder) is not read-only.
Using Windows Explorer, right-click on the file (or folder) name, go to Properties.
If it is, then close iTunes, change it, and reopen iTunes.

You need to edit the audio file of the song to speed a song up. If you have GarageBand '11 on your mac, try this:

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

You can't use the whole song as a ringtone, you would have to create it either by using itunes or an app.

There are a lot of ringtone maker in the app store, do a search. Just make sure you read the reviews before you download it.

Can't edit song information in itunes

I suddenly have not been able to edit song information, using file, edit, get info.
The areas to edit have been grayed out. Is there some setting i inadvertantly changed?

Anyway, select the \Music\iTunes\ folder, right click - get info.
Make you you have Read and Write permissions.

Have you moved your iTunes library recently? Are you using a different profile?
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownership from an account with administer privileges.
Also in iTunes properties tap the read-only check box until it clears, then click OK. When prompted apply the change to the folder and all files and subfolders.

ITunes is not allowing me to edit song info?

can anyone help me? I am trying to edit song info in iTunes on my new PC - Dell with Vista? When I try to change a field such as genre or song title, whatever, I can type the info in, but iTunes does not change the info.

I had Windows Media Player as my default for ever on my computer. iTunes doesn't let you right-click to edit songs like WMP and I'm trying to get all my stuff off "Unknown album/title" etc. since for some reason when I imported everything it couldn't bring the names of tracks with it?

Un able to edit song info in itunes 7

I am currently organizing and fixing some errors in my itunes library and i'm having extreme difficulty editing song info.
For example about half of my songs show up as blues in the genre category. So i've gone through and changed them to rock, electronic, etc. The info will change but when i double click on the track (play the track) it changes the info back to the previous settings. I went to itunes help which instructed me to uncheck "organize itunes library" in order to write the new info to the file. But this has not worked either. this is a very frustrating problem because GNDB has given some very wrong info about album names and and info and i can't reorganize it.
Another example is a CD by Blockhead the album title is Music by Cavelight. Only 3 tracks have the correct album title the others are Blockhead Music by Cavelight, for some reason the artist name is included in the album title. When i correct the tracks that have the improper album name they do change untill the song is double clicked on, and then it resets to the previous name.
Please help i am a DJ with lots of music and organization is KEY!

Editing songs for garage band 08 using itunes. and how to record it to a cd

i'm new to the mac. and tryed to use garageband 08 i was able to edit a few songs using itunes. but how am i able to put it on a cd. and how can i delete the others that i started. also when editing songs from itunes what version of garageband is needed magic garageband or podcast ?

Garageband is not a audio editor (although it can be used for some editing) it is a multitrack recording studio with a few extras thrown in.
Making playlist and burning CD can all be done in itunes.

Issue when editing songs in "Get Info"

Hi there!
I've been having this issue for quite a while now. At first I was able to deal with it, but now it's getting pretty annoying.
My issue is the two options to go to the next song or previous song have dissappeared when I'm editing songs in the get info tab. I have made sure that I am editing songs in an album, but the problem is still happening.
The red circle is where the buttons usually are. I'm not sure if iTunes has taken these options away with the newer updates, or if I clicked something by mistake. If someone else had this problem and figured out how to fix it, it would be great if you could share how with me!

The buttons should be there. As a workaround do Alt+P and Alt+N still perform the Previous and Next functions?
