Editing Styles in 9.0.2.2.14

Has anyone had difficulty editing styles in the latest release of Portal? When I create a style as any user the style does not seem to be effected by updating the "Preview".
For example, from the navigator/Page Groups tab, I select Page Groups -> Shared Objects:Contents -> Styles. Then choose to "Create New... Style", which asked to copy from an existing style. Then I change the Portlet Header Color. The "Preview" to the right fails to update reflecting the changes.
I have applied the modified style to a page and have had it appear to have been correctly modified from the copied style, however this is not the expectation.
I have applied the interoperability patches, followed the install guides, etc. This is a development install to see if we can be in or near production ready in a month with this release.
regards,
Jason

In 9.0.4 the problem is still present. You can monitor bug 3516614. There is no solution yet and the problem is reproducable on almost every platform.

  • RichText edit style column and WordWrap

    Hello,
Text should wrap automatically to the next line when it reaches the right margin of the rich text control column. But in this case ( rich text style column) it is not working as expected.Although Autosize height is selected in a property of this control, the text is not wrapped correctly. anybody have idea/workaround to fix this ?
    Thanks, Ram

    Hi Chris,
    1. Its Windows 7, 32bit machine.
    2. PB 12.5 version, Build 2511
    3. Screen shot :
Here , system is not accepting any text after "thisiscontinous" string.
But, if i entered space between two words it does word wrap. since width of column is less so we will require to wrap text to next line automatically.
I have tried by removing Autosizeheight option.
    Hi Mark,
If i select "RichText" Edit style then option to turn off horizontal scrolling in not available.
Thanks all for your quick reply.

  • How do I create an editable style in a template

A site I am currently coding will need a DWT template for use
with Contribute to prevent the site owner from editing things
he/she shouldn't. All of the pages will essentially use a single
    template,
except I need to change a single style on every page. I need
just the contents of a single class="" to be editable. Does anyone
know a clever way to do this? You can't set an editable region
within the quotes - I've already tried that.

    1. You can make the tag bearing the class assignment have an
    editable class
attribute (read DW's F1 Help about editable attributes), or
    2. You could make the tag and its minimal legal context be in
    an editable
    region, or
    3. You could make the page have a small embedded stylesheet
    in the editable
region that is in the head of every template child page that
    would let you
specify the different styles for a given class rule.

  • Unable to edit styles in CS3

I've built two dwt templates in DW CS5 and connected Contribute CS3 (client already had this version).  I've assigned a publisher role to the client and enabled style changes to the role in Edit>Publisher Settings. Although we can edit the editable template section text, we can't apply styles from the stylesheet or add styles for font size, family etc.  Several previous discussions hint around this problem and in one thread the problem "mysteriously" went away on its own.  Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? Is it because I am using a dwt file instead of an htm as the core template?

Don't see the edit I just made to update this discussion so .... changing the dwt file to an htm file unlocked style editing.  Problem solved.

  • Editing style sheet error

Whenever I try to edit a component of my style sheet, I keep getting this error.  (attached screenshot). I look at the ipdc-screen.css is on my local disk. ???

I can't see the top of your page, where you link the stylesheet to your page, but if you are linking with an absolute link (http:// etc. etc.), you are linking to an online file, and that will not be available to be edited locally. I would do as the warning suggests, and download the file to your local system.
If the file is indeed available locally in your site files, then you should change the link to a local, document-relative link instead of an absolute link.
If you are linking to the online stylesheet because it is a standard across departments, then perhaps it should not be edited. You can make an additional, editable stylesheet to go along with (and modify) the styles in the online stylesheet. When you do so, be sure to place the link to your new stylesheet after the link to the online stylesheet.

  • Editing Style Web Data Entry Form

    Hi all,
I tried to insert the specific style into the rows of a WDEF:
    Style: text-align:right; font-size:8pt
but I don't know why, these specific styles aren't together applicable: I obtained ONLY one of these styles.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

You can only use CustomHeader or CustomHeaderStyle style for one header in a row set to "blank." I assume you are talking about the custom header style because Blank would not contain any data in other columns. The work around is to set the row to an empy account such [None]. Set to Readonly so no one is tempted to enter data and the color will be green. But this is only an issue when you have more than one header in a row (more than one dimension. You can use Blank if there is only one header, but I will assume you want to set the style for the header not he data. In that case use Custom Header syntax :
    CustomHeaderStyle:font:Bold 8pt Arial; text-indent: 3pt,CustomHeader:Total Fx

I am trying to figure out the transitions between clips and how they made it kind of jump. I have theories about it but I would love if someone knows how they got this flow to let me know exactly how to get it. Also do you think they ran the footage threw some sort of software to smooth it out. I am editing some helicopter footage I shot and I want it

Perhaps I didn't watch long enough but the transitions looked like simple cuts and dissolves to me.

See that big ball at the front of the chopper? Gyro stabilized gimbal camera mount. Expensive and effective at stablizing as you can see from the video.
You have Motion, right? Use the built in tracker to stabilize your video.

  • Best way to edit styles after importing html file?

Windows XP RoboHelp 8 (FrameMaker 9) Dreamweaver
I have been given a large html document of API Functions that I have imported into RH. Most of the information is  in tables that don't have an id. I want to change the table formatting, but don't want to do it manually to each instance. I tried making a table style and applying it to the tables, but it didn't bring over all the formatting.
I do not know much html or css, but I'm wondering if that would be the only way to change the table formatting?
As far as I can tell, the tables are not identified with any type of tag in the html.
I messed around in DW with the css editor and created table properties, but don't know how to apply it to the existing tables in the html.
    At a loss...
    Missy

Borders and shading are controlled in the <table> tag (select the table in the RH Design view and click the HTML tab -- the entire table will be selected in the HTML tab.  Scroll to the top of the highlighted text and the <table> tag is the first tag displayed in the selected content).  You can do a global Find and Replace on the <table> tag to make them all consistent.

  • RoboHelp 9 - can you edit Style menus?

Hi All, we are using RoboHelp 9 and many of us are accustomed to using the drop-down Style menu located in the upper left corner of the RH GUI, but it does not include all styles. Is there a way to modify the drop-down menu to include all styles? Thanks very much.

No you cannot modify that dropdown. It just shows what is in the Paragraph and Character styles in the Style Pod.

  • Regain vector information after import with editable styles turned off

Hi,  my colleague imported a bunch of prepped psd files into after effects cc and proceeded to animate the seperate layers.  The idea was that our character animator would then go back to these files and add much more to the animation by animating the masks retained from photoshop. Unfortunately, the files were imported with the editable box unticked, and now everything is flattened.  We've worked out how to make them editable, but this only seems to allow us to edit drop shadows etc, but the vector mask remains missing.  Is there a way to get these mask shapes back for the elements? Or do we have to reimport and replace eveything one by one?  Thanks!

Exactly that... You will have to import the doc as a comp so the masks vome in and then replace via copy&amp; paste.

  • Dreamweaver CC How to edit styles across media queries and sizes

I am creating a fulid grid/responsive website, using the standard Media queries offered by Dreamweaver CC when I start a new document.
I have creative several DIVs to sturcture my page.
I don't understand how to apply changes between the various media queries.
Frist, I see you can drag the width of the boxes to adust how wide you want the portions to be. That I get. But what I don't understand is to apply different formatting/styles in the different screen sizes. There used to be a box that would pop up when you wanted to create a new class. Now I can't figure out which version of the screen to work in and how to make changes ONLY to one screen size.
Here's an example of what I want to do:
The main portion of my website has 4 categories, that I would like the user to be able to choose from to click on.
On the mobile view, I want the image align left, text to the right of that, aligned left, and for the  background of each category to be the same color so that it looks like one big button on mobile.
On tablet and desktop view, I want the image centered within the DIV, then the text centered under each image. I want the graphic image (which is in a circle) to stand out on a white background.
In the tablet view, I have it organized by 2 rows and 2 columns.
In the tablet view, I have it organized by 1 row and 4 columns.
    I hope this make sense.
How do I signifyand create these changes? I have tried entering it in the code. That just seems to center it every image in every DIV (remember I want it aligned left in mobile) Or I tired entering it on the code in another way and that centered the image across the whole page, not just the DIV. HOw do I work around these problems? Do I need to make them all a class instead of a DIV? I am really confused....
Please be nice as I am obviously a bit of a beginner and struggling with this basic concept. I appreciate any guidance or help that anyone has to offer.

#1 Build mobile first.  Everything else is based on that primary layout.  Don't worry so much about content yet.  Just get your mobile layout in order.  Then build tablet and finally desktop.
#2 Do not tamper with code in your FluidGrid.css or Boilerplate.css files.  These files are temperamental.  Use a separate external style sheet for your content styles.   That way if you do something wrong, it won't break the whole layout.
#3 Keep your layout structure simple and uncomplicated.  No tables, no positioned elements.
#4 Everything needs to be inside the <gridContainer> div.  If it's not, it won't be responsive.

  • Editing Style Sheets

This seems like a pretty straightforward thing to do but I
didn't see it in the RH manual.
I just imported several MIF files into a new WebHelp project.
I applied a style sheet to all the new topics, but the style names
don't match. Now, I could go through each topic and apply the
appropriate style for each paragraph independently, but I'd much
rather just copy the style definition to do it all at once.
Is there any way to copy the definition of one style to
another within the same style sheet? Or, can I somehow delete the
name of the unwanted style and rename the desired style to do this
to automatically update all the text in that style?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
    -Mark

Open the style sheet in Notepad or similar. You can then copy
    and tweak any style.

  • How can I edit a character style?

    Hi:
let's see.... I created some character styles but i don't know how to delete or edit. Somebody help me please?
    Sorry my grammar
    Regards from Lima, Perú

Select the style in the panel, then either double click ther style name, right click and choose Edit Style, or open the panel menu and choose Style Options to edit, or reformat some text using the style to be thway you want it and either right click the style or open the panel menu and choose Redefine style.
To delete a style you can drag it to the trash icon or use the panel menu. If it's in use you'll be asked to choose a replacement.

  • Can't figure out how to rename css style in mx

    Hello,
I can't figure out how to rename css style in mx. I have the
style selected in the proprety inspector. Is there supposed to be a
rename option at the bottom of the same dropdown box? There is
option to edit style and a few others in same dropdown box... but
no rename option. Please be specific... I have looked it up on the
internet... but still cant find the option.
    Thanks,
