Editing Watermarks in Lightroom 4

I have been using this application for some time and have a long list of watermarks.  How do I  :-
1. Edit a matermark without creating a new one?  When I try to save an edited watermark it asks for a new name and creates a new one adding it to the list.
2. Delete watermarks no longer needed - the list is long!
The Edit Watermarks dialog doesn't seem to cater for either of these actions.

Aha!. Before i installed i remembered that i had moved the .png file containing the watermark.. Copyed it back to its original location and all problems gone. To bad there was no error message informing me about the missing file but rather let the dialog crash. Will install 4.4.1 anyhow,

  • I am having trouble exporting photos with a watermark in lightroom 5 with windows 8

I click export, then edit watermarks, make my adjustments, click create, then export...photo gets exported without the watermark....what am I doing wrong?

Just a couple of observations that may not be of any help to you. After you click on the export button, you won't see any activity on the Lightroom interface unless you are exploring several images in which case you will see a progress bar in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. I noticed on your export settings that you have checked the option to add the exported image to the catalog, so it isn't going to automatically show up in Lightroom. You might try right clicking on the folder you are working with and choose to synchronize it and see if that will bring in those newly exported images.

I installed Photoshop CC (2014) yesterday through the Creative Cloud app. Now, when in Lightroom when I go to "edit in"and select Photoshop CC (2014) and click on "edit copy with Lightroom adjustments",  it opens Photoshop CC (2014) but my photo doesn't show up?  My photo does show up when I click on "edit copy" or "edit original".
How can I correct that so that I can open up a photo from Lightroom WITH the Lightroom adjustments? Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem, but only with jpg's. I have PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014. Other image file formats function normally with regard to the "open with" list. PS CC 2014 appears on the list. But with jpg's only PS CC appears on the "open with" list and 2014 can't be added by the browsing for it.
The curious thing is that if I have any of the three versions of Photoshop open, click on Photoshop CC in the "open with" list, the image opens in whatever version is already open on my computer. This is true of all image formats. No matter which version I pick from the "open with" list it opens in the currently running program. I use only the latest version so keeping it open all the time is an easy work around. I won't uninstall any of the earlier versions lest more file association quirks result. it would be nice to have this matter fixed.

  • How do I take an edited photo from lightroom 5 to elements 12?

How do I take an edited photo from lightroom 5 to elements 12?

Marsha, you seem to be a bit confused or perhaps uninformed about how Lightroom works. Lightroom should be at the beginning of your workflow. Whether you are working on raw images or JPEG, or whatever, Lightroom is where you should begin. None of the adjustments that you make using Lightroom are applied to the image. They are saved in the catalog progressively as you work on the image. Photoshop Elements sits in a secondary position in the typical workflow. In Lightroom, there is an option to "Edit in", and Photoshop Elements or Photoshop or whatever editor you have chosen will be one of the choices. You go to Elements to do things that cannot be done or can be done more efficiently in the other program. When you have finished making the adjustments in Elements a new copy of the image containing both the Lightroom adjustments and the Elements adjustments will be created, and will be added to the Lightroom catalog.
If you want an edited copy of your image in Elements than you would want to use the export function in Lightroom to export a copy that would include all adjustments that have been made. A typical workflow would be to maintain your master set of images, including copies created by Elements because of additional editing in that program, and then export JPEG copies suitable for posting on the web, for e-mail, or for sending to a lab to be printed. After those copies that were exported have been used for their intended purpose, they can be deleted, and you only have your master images to maintain in case there are other adjustments or new approaches in the future.

  • Editing timelapses in Lightroom- looks very different if there´s a small change within the frame

    Hi
We´re having some serious issues with editing timelapses in Lightroom (5.6). What seems to happen over and over again, is that if there´s a small change within the frame (such as a bird flying past, people walking), the editing result varies greatly compared to the previoius frame. It´s easiest to understand what I mean by viewing the examples below.
Here there´s one picture without a boat in the frame, and a few seconds later there´s a boat in a small part of the frame. The camera is set to full manual, and the two JPGs which show the unedited pictures shows that the background and sky in both pictures look exactly the same. However, after pasting the same editing setting on both pictures, the picture with the boat looks vastly different (shadow areas are much darker). It´s the same result weather it is a white boat, a black bird or a person walking in/out of the frame. The picture gets much darker, and leads to some serious flicker in the timelapse which can be impossible to get rid of.
I assume that as there´s a small change in the histogram when the boat enters the frame, this change affects what Lightroom thinks of as shadows/highlights on so on? The example below has some heavy editing applied (shadows up, highlights down, clarity). You can see the settings that have been adjusted in the screenshots below. Does LR change what it considers shadows/highlights based on the histogram, or are there standard settings? If this is the case, it would be much better for timelapsers if Lightroom had standard values for what is considered shadows/highlights, so that two pictures where the only difference is a person walking on the street or not, would look the same with the same editing settings applied. What I find strange if LR works like I´m asking here, why does the picture get darker whether it is a white boat or a black bird changing the histogram slightly. Shouldn´t they then have the opposite effect of each other?
Any ideas what is causing the difference, and what I can do about it? Thanks!

  • Photoshop CS5/Lightroom 3 integration issue - "Edit Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" does not work

When clicking "Edit Copy with Lightoomroom Adjustments" from Lightroom, I get an error in Lightroom 3 complaining that the Camera Raw plug-in is not up to date; full message below.
"This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 6.1 for full compatibility.
Camera Raw version 4.6 is the latest version available for Photoshop CS3. If raw file support for your camera was introduced after Camera Raw 4.6, the Photoshop integration features in Lightroom require Photoshop CS4 and the latest Camera Raw version 5 plug-in.
The version of Camera Raw plug-in currently installed is 0.0."
After I click "Open Anyways", Photoshop CS5 is initiated but it seems to have lost context of why it is opened and asks me what file I want to open (i.e. the Open As dialog).
"Edit Copy" and "Edit Original" from Lightroom 3 works as expected and opens images fine in Photoshop, CS5 however.
My installation is on Windows 7. I currently also have Lightroom 1.4 and Photoshop CS3 installed. Everything worked fine with the old configuration. I also tried the same workflow in Lightroom 1.4 again just now, which is now linked to CS5 instead of CS3. The "Edit Copy with Lightroom Adjustments" also work just fine.
Things that I have tried but do not worked:
I did an Update via the Help -> Update menu, and also manually downloaded the Camera Raw 6.1 plug-in.
Blew away the Photoshop preferences file
Made sure that Lightroom 3 points to Photoshop for editor
I'm thinking that I'll try uninstall CS3 next. Anyone else encountered this issue?

[CS5.1 (12.1) ACR 6.5RC / LR 3.5RC; MacbookPro 4gb Leopard 10.5.8 ] As a Lightroom instructor, up until now this has been a vexxing problem to explain to my students. Even if ACR in Photoshop is up to date (I just downloaded 6.5RC and installed the PS Plugin), I still get the error when attempting to edit from Lightroom 3.5RC. I deleted the PS prefs file to no avail. I was not willing to re-install Photoshop as a solution (per some blog's suggestion), although that might be the ultimate answer. But what an ordeal if so!
For a solution, I went back to a resolution I devised when I had a CS3 compatibility problem with LR3. I went into the Preferences of Lightroom and manually chose the Photoshop app as the "custom" image editor. I went back to edit the file in PS from Lightroom and the ACR error disappeared. Try it. Yes, this means you need to use the Custom editor as your image editor, but it seems to have resolved the issue.

Hello, I bought the photografers edition of both lightroom and photoshop. After I paid they didnt gave me the productoct license that i need to continue using both photoshop and lightroom. So, where can I find my product's license?

The Creative Cloud Applications downloads and licensing are controled via the CC Application Manager so you do not have to input your license key manually.

  • Cannot open Elements with "Edit In" on Lightroom

I am unable to open PSE 10 when I select "Edit In" with Lightroom 4.
I have changed Preferences to PSE Editor. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE. I am using a MAC. Can someone please help me.

When you click on Choose, you have to navigate to the folder that contains PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe.
On your computer, it is most likely in a different folder than mine, so I can't tell you exactly where to look, it is most likely somewhere in C:\Program Files\Adobe (or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe). On your computer, depending on what options you have selected, the .exe may not appear.

  • Watermarks in Lightroom 4

Hi. I have Lightroom 4 and was able to get my text watermark to export on my photos until I changed the resolution. Now, even after changing the resolution back, it still won't export the watermark. I've tried deleting and recreating the watermark and it still won't work. I'm getting really frustrated. Can you help me? I've looked at all the settings and have marked the watermark checkbox...I really don't know what else to do.
    Thanks!
    Stephanie

You probably have to edit the watermark, and then re-export the photo.
You can edit the watermark in the Export dialog box, scroll down to Watermarking, check Watermark and then in the dropdown menu, select Edit Watermarks

  • Use filename as watermark in Lightroom 5

Is it possible to watermark my images with their filenames in Lightroom 5?

There is a way but it is not automated.
You can edit a new watermark and apply it.
As for an automated solution there may be a plug-in that can do this but personally I am not aware of one.

  • Opening an image to edit from within Lightroom

    Hi there
I have just installed Lightroom 5 on my iMac running Yosemite.
When I click on 'edit in', I have the option of opening PS CS5 or Elements 13, both of which are installed.
If I choose CS5, the image opens OK.  When I choose Elements, the image doesn't open for editing.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Peter

Go to Preferences, then click on the External Editing tab, then under Additional External Editor click on "Choose" and then (remember, this is on Windows, not Mac) point to PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe

  • How do I change the default external editing program in Lightroom 5?

I have Photoshop CS3 and CS5 Extended on my computer. CS3 is the default external editing program Lightroom 5 chose to use to open files during initial setup, which causes selections such as "Open as Smart Object or Merge to Panorama" to be grayed out. How can I change the default to CS5 Extended, short of removing the CS3 version on my system? Thanks for you help!
