Editor to Organizer Disfunction

When I fix a photo in either full edit or quick edit, close the editor and go back to organizer instead of getting the photo I was working on coming up, I am sent back to the first photo in my catalog. I then have to scroll through my many photos to get back to the picture  I was working on. Is this a bug? Was a functionality which used to be in all other Photoshop Elements programs overlooked? Is there a fix for this?

HI,
Which version of PSE are you using?
I guess the behavior is same over the different versions of PSE.
Please give detailed steps of what is happening and what result you expect?
Thanks

  • PSE 8.0 Will Not Open (Including Editor and Organizer)

I have been using PSE 8.0 for three or four years now, and I have never experienced any problems with it. Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it.  If it matters, I use Windows 7.
    Any and all help is appreciated. I'm going a bit insane without my lovely Photoshop to doodle in. ;n;
    Thank you,
    ~ Mongoose

EDIT: I found the Preferences within the PSE folder, and I renamed it; afterwards, I tried to open PSE again. It reset the Preferences, yet it is still telling me that PSE has unexpectedly quit. /EDIT
I went into the PSE folder and attempted the "three finger salute" while clicking on Organizer, but all it brought up were the Organizer Properties.
Also, within the past hour, PSE has been randomly popping multiple times up to inform me that it unexpectedly quit, yet I have not tried to open it recently. I am not sure if that is important or not.

  • Editor and Organizer Black

I was almost finished with a video I have worked on for 4 days when the editor and organizer went black. The software keeps shutting down now. What do I do? By the way, the files all loaded. I just can't see them.

Somehow that does not look like Premiere Elements 11 or 12. What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
If you are running Premiere Elements 10 and your computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card, then please read the Announcement at the top of this forum. If you are a Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA users, then it is mostly likely that you will need to roll back the NVIDIA card version to continue to use your Premiere Elements 10. For your convenience, a copy/paste of the Announcement
Announcement: Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
    Hide Details
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found

A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found

Please let us rule this factor in or out at the onset.

  • Use Photoshop Elements 9 as default editor and organizer

I moved to iMac from /windows.  I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my Mac and also iPhoto.  Iphoto cam preinstalled on the mac.  I want to use PSE exclusively and not iPhoto.  I don't want to uninstall iPhoto, just want to have PSE set as the default editor and organizer of my photos.  How do I set my system to use PSE?
    Thanks
    Steve

  • PSE 9: Cannot open certain raw files in editor from Organizer.  Can directly tho.

I can open my CR2 (Canon raw for 50D) files from the Elements 9 Editor.   But when I try to save, the "Save as Version Set" is grayed out even tho the photo is in the Organizer.  Conversely, when I try to open a CR2 file from the Organizer, I cannot.  If I drag it to the Editor window, I get message that the file is the wrong type of file - the message one would expect for an unsupported raw file format.
I've been using Elements 9 successfully since October.  This is new behavior in the last week (since I returned from 3 week vacation with 3000 new photos).   I cannot pin this to any newly loaded software (don't have any) nor correlate it to any other event.  Occasionally, the file will open in Camera Raw from the Organizer, but not usually, and then not again for awhile.  I've repaired and compacted.  I uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.  I applied the 9.0.3 update - again to no effect.  I've rebooted a few times, again with no effect.  I did have PSE7 installed (and have had so for 2 years), but uninstalled that, hoping (vainly) for an effect.
In the process of proofing this post, I did a bit more experimenting.  I find that ALL my 20D Canon Raw files work as they should (open in Camera Raw, etc.).  And, I find that all my 50D Canon Raw files taken before the trip work as they should.  However, the files from ONE DAY ONLY on the trip exhibit this behavior. The only difference is the trip files all were off-loaded to a laptop, then transferred to my desktop (via ethernet, not wireless), the same as all other day's photos.   Subsequent loading directly from compact flash card to my desktop results in being able to edit the files from the Organizer just fine.  I've checked permissions and all users have full permissions.
The laptop and desktop are both Windows 7 (completely current).
I don't really have any ideas.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I think PSE6 will not be able to import/open files from Nikon D7000 as support has been added in recent ACR updates which are not available for PSE8 and below.
Please have a look at http://photoshopelementsbyadobe.blogspot.com/2011/05/how-to-use-raw-files-from-latest-dslr s.html as workaround

  • Editor and Organizer integration - disable?

I have had Photoshop Elements for some time as it was part of a bundle I purchased with Premiere Elements. Until recently, I had been using Paintshop Pro for photo editing and PE only for the organizer.
Since I am several version behind on all three, I decided to see if I could get used to PE for the editing as I am not thrilled with the direction Corel has taken with PP. It all seems to work fine with one exception. Mostly I use the editor to resize, touch up, crop, etc. photos for my family web site. The way I have always done this in the past is to drag the photos from the organizer to a working directory (thus creating a copy) and edit the copy. Once my site is updated, I delete the files from the working directory. It appears that any photo I edit in this fashion using PE gets added to the Organizer and then becomes a 'broken' thumbnail once I delete the temporary copy from the working directory. Is there an option to disable the automatic add of any edited photo to the organizer? Note that I never had this problem when I used PP to edit the copies. (By the way, I directly edit the copies, I do not put them in Organizer and then launch the editor from there. I open the copy directly.)
    Any help appreciated.

Word of warning: NEVER count on your host as your only source of backups. I bet in their terms of service somewhere it states that you are responsible for your own backups (even if the host does regular backups.)
FYI: If you use Save for Web Organizer makes a copy of the file and does not include it in Organizer.
If you put much work into the edited versions they are worth saving. Why go back and have to remove red eye, crop, adjust color, etc. every time you want to use a photo? I don't reduce file size until after my edits are done so it is worth it to save them. I don't always bother saving the layers though.
You might want to think about saving your website files to disc before deleting them from your hard drive. Cds are cheap for a bit of extra insurance.

  • Help move photos from editor to organizer

This should be an easy task and I am familiar with editing a photo taken from the organizer and then returning it to an album or folder.  My problem is with a photo sent to me as an attachment to an email in another program (often Picasa).  This photo can be opened in Elements Editor and worked with in the usual fashion but I am stumped on how to then move it in my Organizer and appropriate folder or album.  Would appreciate some advice.

    1. When you finish editing use File >> Save As; then choose a folder where you want it saved.
    2. To add to an album drag an album icon on to the thumbnail in Organizer.

  • Problem when returning from Editor to Organizer

When I’m finish editing a picture in Elements Editor and save the picture and close Editor, the Elements Organizer shows up in start/top of the library.  Earlier versions went back to the picture I was last editing.  Is it something I can do to fix this irritating problem?

  • Everytime I transfer from PSE 11 Editor to Organizer I get a long delay

Everytime I transfer from PSE 11 Editor to teh Organizer I get a long dely with the rainbow colored spinning circle.  Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing this issue.  It makes editing a few pitures a very frustrating as I often spend more time waiting on the system than I do editing the photos.

  • Slow transit from Editor to Organizer

How can I speed up loading the Organizer?
When choosing "print multiple photos" in the Editor, PSE loads the Organizer.
"Loading organizer workspace" takes up to a full minute.
I do not want the Organizer for organizing, just for printing multiple photos.

My thanks to both of you!  There is indeed a box in the Save dialog that says "Include in the Elements Organizer".  Great time saver.

  • Move picture from Editor to Organizer

When I open a picture on my computer with PSE9 it appears in the Editor.  After I make changes in the picture I would like to be able to add it to the Organizer without having to open the Organier,Find the file on my computer and then see it in the Organizer.  Can this be done?

  • How can I get the color and contrast on photos to appear the same in Organizer and Editor?

In PSE 10 (Windows 7), When I edit photos in the Editor and get them the way I want them, they appear considerably different when I send them back to the Organizer, both in color and contrast.  Since I print from the Organizer, they appear in print as they are in the Oganizer, and it's not what I had in the Editor.  I set the color the same in both Editor and Organizer from the Edit menu, but I still have the problem.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
