Editor will not load

I received a reply from 99jon on this issue yesterday, and do not know how to reply to his response, so I am starting a new discussion.
I purchased Elements 12 as a boxed upgrade to 11.  I installed it on my PC, followed all the instructions to set it up and it loaded Organiser perfectly.  However, when I tried to access Editor, it took me to a screen asking me to register the product, which I did, by inserting the serial number issued with my boxed product.  As soon as I did this, I was taken to a screen that said 'Your trial period has ended' and invited me to purchase an upgrade.  I have spoken with Adobe, via Live Chat, and initially they succeeded in getting my Editor to open.  Then I tried to work with RAW images, but Elements 12 would not recognise these images.  I contacted Adobe again, and they did various things to try to upload a new version of Camera Raw, but Elements would not do this.  I was advised to uninstall Elements and re-install and that this would resolve the issue.  However, it has not, and I am right back where I started.
I have spent around 3 hours on Live Chat with Adobe, and I have now waited 2 hours for a representative to take up my third request to 'speak' and am still waiting.
I am at my wits end.  I purchased 12 solely because my new Canon RAW images were not recognised in 11.  I feel that I have wasted my money and certainly my time so far, when I have been perfectly happy with Elements 11 for 18 months.
Please please help?!

Can you go to the above location (substitute your own user name for mine) or click the Windows start button and choose your name. Then open the OOBE folder.
Inside the folder there should be a database file named opm.
Please right-click on that file and re-name it to opm_OLD
To complete the sign-in which is only normally required once you need to be able to reach the Adobe servers. Ensure you have no firewall or internet security/anti-virus software which may be blocking the connection. It may even be worth disabling them temporarily until you complete the sign-in process. Then switch them back on.
Try launching the Editor again from your new desktop icon.
N.B. if you can’t immediately find the AppData folder it’s probably a hidden system file.
Here's how to display hidden files and folders.
Click the Windows Start Button >> Control Panel >> Folder Options
(Folder Options could be located under Appearance and Personalization or All Control Panel Items; or find it in Windows Explorer,  choose Tools >> Folder Options)
In the folder options dialog click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 Editor will not load

all of a sudden elements 12 editor will not load.  It freezes when it says initializing panels.
    Any suggestions!!

Start the editor from its .exe or application file or from the button in the organizer, while holding ctrl+alt+shift (command+option+shift on a mac).
Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

  • Weebly drag and drop editor will not load

I use ipage for my host. When trying to edit my site using weebly drag and drop I am having an issue. I login to ipage, goto control panel, click weebly drag and drop, then click edit site. It brings up a blank page! I have Firefox 3.6.17. I downgraded from the latest version (had the same problem), because Norton plugins were not compatible with the latest version.

Nothing seems to work!!  PSE 8 is supposed to be plug and play without having to mess with anything, get tech support or waste my time.  Why then have I spent 3 evenings trying to make it work?   I called Wal Mart who have a no refund policy on software.  I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS NONSENSE!!!

  • Help! My PSE8 Editor will not work!

When I try to open it, the editor will not load and I get an error message when I attempt to open a previously saved document I did in photoshop. the message says that the editor will not work. I already tried the ctrl+alt+shift keys at startup.

I am having the same issue. In my case the software was inside the new computer that i've purchased. It is a vaio with windows 7, 64bit.The organizer runs normally from the first time. When I tried to open the editor, appeared the license agreement on which you have to accept in order to continue. I clicked accept but absolutely nothing happened. Then I had to start task manager and close the program because it didn't respond.
I also tried to restart my pc and re-do the whole process, but again nothing changes.Any ideas?

  • Photoshop Elements 5.0 will not load

Hi, After using PE5.0 for a year with Vista the program will not load now. When opening editor it stops loading when 'searching for plugins'.

    I would go to:
    C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Editor
and inside that folder delete the two below files
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 Prefs.psp
    and
    PluginCache.psp
Before doing the above make sure pse 5 isn't running and hopefully when you start the pse 5 editor things will be okay.

  • PSE 12 editor will not launch

I am sorry if this is a duplicate but I don't think my first one posted.
I have the full version but the editor will not launch.  It asks for my Adobe password and then the screen goes blank.
Should I uninstall it and try again?

Under C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\12.0\editor\ there are files on the desktop which are not on the laptop (see the next three screen shots).  Does this have anything to do with it?  Why wouldn’t they be on the laptop since I loaded it from the same CD?
Is the version on the laptop not registered or activated?

  • Ebay auction images will not load, only happens in FF

in the actual listing for an item, the ebay hosted pictures (the ones that show on the top left of the screen), will not load. they will just say "image not availabe". all other images load, be it the thumbnail images when looking thru searched listings or the sellers own hosted images. I do not have this problem with any other sites.
if I use IE, the images load. so, its some sort of Firefox issue. I am on the latest (12.0).
I do have NoScript, Ad-Block Plus, FoxReplace and Menu Editor add-ons, but none of these are casuing the issue. I looked to see if anything may of been blocked, but there is nothing ebay related that has been blocked since this has been starting.

  • Organizer will not load in Windows 8

Organizer will not load in Windows 8 directly.  If Editor is opened first Organizer will load photos but THEN converts them to hourglasses.  Hourglasses will open if double clicked.  I have no idea what is going on.

Do you have any other suggestions?  FYI - this same software is installed on a desktop computer and I do not have this problem.  When I click on "Organizer", it goes into it.  The desktop is windows XP and the laptop is windows 7.  When I first installed this on the laptop it worked fine.  I downloaded all my pictures to photoshop.com, and started to have problems after that.  I keep getting a message that my online storage is full, but I do not want to add more. Do you think my problem would be solved if I delete my photoshop.com account?  Would this affect any of my pictures or albums on my computer?

  • PSE 8.0 Organizer will not load

I have been using PSE 8.0 for a few months and now the Organizer will not load.....I just get a message that the program is not responding. In fact, the
only way to get to the Editor is to right click on a pictue file and open it in PSE Editor since the PSE Welcome screen is even grayed out and does not allow me to click on Organize or Edit.
I recently max'd out my online storage capacity but can not even delete files from the Catalog because the Organizer will not work.
I have tried de-installing and installing PSE but the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

It’s Adobe’s cunning way of getting you to purchase more storage.
Try logging in to Photoshop.com and see if you can delete photos on-line. That might do the trick!

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit).
    First..
    1. Have you updated from 13 to the 13.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
    2. Do the problems exist if you disable the antivirus and firewall(s)?
    3. Are you running the program as Administrator? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
    4. Have you refreshed the Online Services using Premiere Elements Editor Edit Menu/Preferences/Web Sharing?
    5. Have you updated the Adobe Application Manager?
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
6.Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    7. Lots more we could go through such as deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole
13.0 Folder in which it exists.
But, I think that you have enough things going on here to warrant an uninstall, free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) and then reinstall with the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

If the problems persist after all that then we will adjust to additional troubleshooting maneuvers.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • ELEMENTS 12 WILL NOT LOAD

Elements 12 will not load. I get a windows dialog box that tells me a problem caused it not to load and they are searching for a solution that never eventuates. Is it possible to delete the programme and reload from adobe or is there another solution?

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    C: >> Program Files (x86) >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 12
Within the Photoshop Elements 12 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor (the application not the Adobe shortcut)
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by right-clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen. Try choosing “Run As Administrator” That often improves stability.
