Editor wont open in Elements 9

I just recently installed photoshop from a disk, and I opened a new image the first time easily through the organizer, and everything went fine. But now when I click the editor from the home screen the whole application shuts down, and when I click it from the organizer, nothing happens. I dont know whats wrong!!!!

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  9\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • Applescript Editor wont open

we have a Mac pro at work running 10.5.8.
    The Script Editor, wont open.
There were NO prefs in the users home folder > Library > Prefs
I copied the prefs from my work computer in his........the app still crashes on open.
what can be done to get the app to work.  There is no way we are doing any kind of full system re-install. We are a Broadcast operation and dont have the time. I wrote to scripts that run as apps, they work. I want to put the apps in the scripts menu. Thanks for any help

In the meantime, can you save them as an Application instead of a Script?
Does Applescript Utility in the same directory open?
    Do you have time to...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)

  • Photo Editor wont open

I get a 'adobe application manager has stopped working' message when trying to open photo editor in elements 11.

    Hi,
Try to direct launch the .exe of PSE Editor from
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe.

  • Wont open in Elements

I set the preferences to edit in Elements 3 and Elements opens when I double click the picture but will not open with the picture. Any ideas? I did not have any trouble getting this to work in iPhoto 05.

    Lydia:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you performed an Archive and Install recently? That will remove needed support files that PSE or PS require. See this page regarding Photoshop: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?[email protected]@.2ccf1da6. It's essentially the same for PSE. The best solution is to just reinstall it from the source disks and that will include all of the support files necessary.

  • Photoshop elements 13 and premiere 13 purchased, downloaded and installed... but wont OPEN/LAUNCH.. HELLP!!?

photoshop elements 13 and premiere 13 purchased, downloaded and installed... but wont OPEN/LAUNCH.. HELLP!!?

    Hello
    My "os" is windows 8.1
When I clicked on the PHOTOSHOP 13 executable the photo editor popped up
along with an install option.  Then I clicked install and then a update
failed message popped up. (I've attached a screen shot photo of that) Then
I clicked on error log and a "please quit and try again error code" message
popped up. (I've also attached a screen shot photo of that as well) so
after all that I closed everything and restarted my computer and clicked on
the PHOTOSHOP 13 executable again and it went straight to the photo editor
not the welcome screen (where I can choose either organizer or photo
editor)... why isn't there a welcome screen like before?
When I clicked on the executable for PREMIERE 13 there was two executable
options.. one that was labeled (PREMIERE 13 exe) and another that was
labeled just (PREMIERE exe) without the "13" so first I clicked on PREMIERE
13 exe and it took me to the welcome screen so then I clicked on video
editor the new project but nothing happened. ... the loading bar moves then
stops.  So after that I closed it and went back to click the PREMIERE exe
and it took me straight to the video editor, again no welcome screen (were
i can choose either organizer or video editor) just like the  photoshop....
so in the end I am able to click on the executable options for both
photoshop 13 and premiere and it takes me straight to the editor but
    without the welcome screen...
Clicking on the shortcut icons on my desk top still won't launch though....
So does this mean it's working because clicking on the executable options
takes me straight to the editor? Or is something still not right because
the program won't open/launch when i click on the desktop shortcuts and
welcome screen won't pop up when clicking on executable options?
Thank you so much for replying I really appreciate it

why wont my photoshop elements 13 and premiere 13 not OPEN/LAUNCH!??

    Hi,
Please try out following steps and see if it helps:
Enable the (Hidden) Administrator account on your computer. See Administrator account for more information.
Sign out of your current user account and log in as the Administrator.
Launch Photoshop Elements Editor and log in from the sign-in screen, using your Adobe ID.
If the editor launches successfully, disable the (Hidden) Administrator account you created in Step 1. See Administrator account for more information on disabling an account.

  • Photoshop elements 12 wont open

pse wont open it says I dont have internet?

I have the same problem with the full version (12.0) and installation yesterday (and today!!!). Downloaded the installationfiles with Akamai Download Manager. After installation, the shortcut wasn't linked to any executionfile in the installationfolder (e.g. Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe), so i get a warning to look for the exe-file by browsing my computer. Reboot computer and try to re-install by clicking the "setup" redirected me to "uninstall". While uninstalling i get the message " specified path is empty" and the program refers to the online adobe troubleshooter. I tried all the given possibilities mentioned there, deleting temp files, installing as administrator, adding Adobe Support Advisor .. even a "clean windows startup" didn't work.
The only way to let my setupprogram work again (no uninstall-screen this time), was to go into the register and delete all the keys and values from PSE 12 (which I wouldn't recommend for anone who doesn't have a clue of what their doing). To be on the safe side, I decided to install the "trial"-version. Downloaded the file from the Adobe website and believe it or not, this time giving me a fault message about "Shared Technologies"
Next try was to install the trial version of PSE 12. the idea was to install that first and activate it afterwards with the serial number given when i bought PSE 12. This time i get a fault-message about "Shared Technologies" and the installation was reversed ... otherwise said "NO GO" and no files installed.

Just some supplemental comments....all information is important in troubleshooting.
I do not know if I am ready to suggest deleting the BadDrivers.txt file at this point. If and when we get to that point, the BadDrivers.txt
file for Premiere Elements 12 Windows 7 or 8 64 bit can be found in the path:
    Local Disc C
    Program Data
    Premiere Elements
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete.
Note: The version 12 BadDrivers.txt file exists in the Premiere Elements 12 Folder along with Folders for other versions as well as 12.
For prior versions of Premiere Elements, this BadDrivers.txt file would be in the folder of its version.
Also, in order to see the above path, you need to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active.
We look forward to more details of your issue so that we can rule in or out factors involved in your problems. Although video card driver considerations are important to the details package, there are a lot of other possibities in that package.
    Thanks.

  • Elements 12 wont open why? had it to the computer shop twice and they can not find out why either. MAD MAD Mad

IT has been installed and uninstalled a hundred time.  The tech from Adobe could not get it to open.  The people at the computer shop very graciously have tried every thing they can think of.  This not only to mention I thought I had a bad disk and bought a second copy.  This program is a joke and am so mad that even adobe could not make it run.  It install just fine, but just wont open.

I'm sorry you're having so many problems, but this is the user to user forum not adobe, and we can't give you a refund any more than you could give one us a refund. You would need to contact adobe about that.
However, it sounds like you are talking about PSE 7 through 10, and it's not web-based software, it's just desktop software that offered an online component. The problem is that you are trying to sign in to photoshop.com and photoshop.com has been dead and gone for over a year now. If you had photos stored there, you would have gotten a bunch of emails when your photos were getting moved to Revel, but you can't access revel from within PSE. The solution is simply to stop using the welcome screen and launch the editor or organizer directly from the .exe/application file

  • I need help! Premere elements 9 wont open correctly

Please help and thank you.

Did you go to the ccleaner link
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
And, when you got there, did you click on the green Download Button for the free ccleaner?
If you did, then you should have not seen a page where the left column was devoted to the free ccleaner.
Further down in the left column for the free ccleaner is a "Download from:" with several choices. Select
    Pinform.com.
If you follow that route, you have a free ccleaner which can be a lifesaver in situations such as these.
    On the other matter...
In the open Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Help Menu there is the Deactivation option. Please hit that, close the project/program, and then continue with the uninstall, ccleaner, reinstall as suggested.
The Adobe Licensing Agreement allows for the user to place the same purchased serial number on no more than 2 of his/her computers. If the user has a 3rd computer and wants to install the same purchased serial number product, then one of the 2 others need to be Deactivated to allow for the install on the 3rd so that the total remains at 2 for same  purchased serial number used on the owner's computers.
Deactivation going from computer to computer is essential. But, I believe it is good practice to do that in this instance of your one computer involved in order to do a complete clean up/clear out.
Again, this Deactivation is done within the opened project, Help Menu/Deactivate, and the project/program closed before doing the uninstall in the Control Panel area. When you are going through the actual Control Panel area uninstall with its dialogs, one of the initial ones may make mention of the Deactivation, but nonetheless do the Deactivation in the opened project as described.
Please let us know if you are OK with the information supplied. And, remember to click yes to backup registry when you are doing the registry portion of ccleaner. If you have any problems working with ccleaner, please let me know and I will supply screenshots. But you should OK following the programs instruction.
Do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything that I have written.
    Thanks.
