hi friends
i have got an issue in profile creation in edm
when i tried to create profile header t code eedm06 i selected the interval length as price but its asking for unit of measurement..actually it must ask only for currency..
but its asking for both currency and unit of measurement
can any 1 help me with this????

atlast the error has been solved.for this error u need to assign the energy and price in sproedmprofile managementdefine units of menasurment
here v need to maintain the diviosn and profile value category with kwh
in my case it was
electricity price and energy was the data entered in that screen
and it worked

Can 15 minutes intervals like 05,20,35,50 be accommodated in EDM.

To my knowledge, it cannot be. We just had got an interval meter readings like that under a test scenario. Also it does not make sense as the RTP pricing has a very slim chances to be in that format.
However would like to confirm from the experts.

Yes you can.
P.S One small note, while using EDM please see the below area for correctness of interval length:
1. RTP interface
2. Register settings for maintaining interval length
3. Profile Header creation.
All of them should have ideally the same length of interval.

De-allocating EDM Profile of an Interval Meter attached to an installation

My dear friends, I need sincere help from you .
This is an ISU requirement on which ABAP/functional suggestions are required.
I have an installation with an interval device installed to it.
We need to do full removal of this installed device by eg32.
The interval meter is having EDM Profile attached to it. Before doing full removal of the device from the installation using EG32,
we need to de-allocate the EDM Profile attached to this interval meter. Manually this is done by using transaction code - EEDM04
but we need to do deallocation of profile using ABAP code.
We need your help in this regard. Could you suggest ISU function modules that could be used to do the deallocation of the EDM profile from the interval Device/Meter.
Your help is really needed and appreciated!

I think function module ISU_S_PROFASS_CHANGE might be useful.
Isnt't it an option to prorate the profile allocation on device removal?
You can set system parameter PRORATEPRO for this in customizing of device management:
PRORATEPRO (Limit Prof. Alloc. for Rem./Repl./Mod./Chnge to Logical
Reg.)
During device installation/replacement/removal or when changing the
logical register number, you can use this parameter to control
whether the allocations of the profile to the register are limited.

Remove EDM Profile from Interval Meter of an installation-Device Management

Synthetic Profile Header creation

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create synthetic profile using FM ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE but its giving error 'Save profile header before maintaining synthetic profile values'.
Would like to know is this the correct FM to create synthetic profile and how to use the same?
I tried the BDC recording method also. Where I am creating the first Tab(General Tab) in Create mode (using Tcode EEDM06).
Then changing the profile created (using EEDM07) and updating the second Tab(Details Tab) of the profile.
When I enter the season group and day group and press enter it shows the tree structure, but through SHDB I am not able to record selection of a particular value under a tree, for which I have to allocate a profile.
Is there any other way to upload the data of Synthetic profile??

I believe ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE is just for elementary profiles.
What you could try is to use an Excel script. In your SAP GUI press ALT+F12, then choose Script Recording and Playback.
Record the actions you do to create a synthetic profile.
This will generate an Excel sheet with a macro recorded. Adjust the Macro in VB scripting so to use values from your Excel worksheet (profiles to be used in the synthetic profile). After adjusting to your needs just execute the macro and you will see your script running the required actions.
I think this should be possible, but haven't tried myself. I used to configure them manually in the past.

EDM profile uploading

Hi,
I Ihave developed a report to upload edm profile at an interval of 15 minutes.I am fetching installatiion number ,date ,unit of consumption and the consumption values at 15 mins interval from a text file.My report is inserting values to the database table EPROFVAL15,but while iIam trying to see the profile values through the transaction EEDM02(by giving the installation number and selecting a profile) then m unable to see the values.Can anyone tell me the cause of the above problem .
I have used the function module ISU_DB_EPROFVAL15_UPDATE to insert values.Is this problem related to the time zone.actually in the database the profile values should get inserted for a profile 5.30 hours before(for example: on 30.06.2010 for profile no:50
consumption value for time 00:00:00 should get stored on 29.06.2010 at 00:18:30).

ISU-EDM Profile Value Import

Hi all,
While importing profile values from MS-Excel file (in transaction "Change profile header") the system is giving error "Error Importing Date, Check import file". I would like to know if any specific date format, different than exported file, is to be used. How do we import the profile values for test purposes i.e. without using BAPI/IDoc?

If the format in SAP is dd.mm.yyyy, you should also be having format dd.mm.yyyy in your OS. If your OS is Windows, then under Control Panel, you have to make the necessary changes under u201CChange the format of numbers, dates and timesu201D. This is likely to solve your problem.

Hello,
You allocate the profile to a register so you want to have your logical register number.
If you have the equipment number you could go to table ETDZ or call FM ISU_DB_ETDZ_SELECT and fetch the registers.
If you want to see the table of profile allocations you can check table EPROFASS.
If you use IS-U-EDM the tables which contains informations about profile values are EPROFVAL*...
Hopefully some of this infomation is useful for you.

Update Consumption Value in EDM Profile From Meter Readings in DM

Can it be possible that consumptions values from meter readings (for non interval readings / Non AMR meters) in DM imported / transfered to profiles in EDM.

In general non-interval measured point of deliveries are dealt with by a synthetic profile.
The synthetic profile is assigned to the installation and can be normed, e.g. to 1000 kWh.
In most cases you will have several synthetic profiles, where each one is used for customers that have such a profile.
Then in billing the usage factor is updated in such a way that the usage factor * normed consumption = actual consumption of customer. So if the customer consumed 2600 kWh the usage factor would be 2,6 for that period if his synthetic profile is normed to a 1000kWh.

EDM Profile values

Hi all,
Could someone tell me what is the industry standard of profile values under Profile value Category "Quantity", whether it is readings or consumption.
As of now when we compute the billed quantity it is calculated as sum of the profile values, indicating the profile values are consumption values.
Are there also scenarios where meter readings (instead of consumption) are used in profile values. If so what is the procedure to compute the consumption

Profile values are typically consumption (electricity or gas, resp. kWh and m3) or demand (electricity, kW).
I have not seen a scenario where the profile contained the readings. However if the meter (or metering system) would provide this information on a periodic time basis it would be no problem to store it in a profile.
Consumption would then have to be derived in the RTP interface from the readings in the period billed.

EDM Profile Allocation

standard SPRO settings are delivered by SAP (roles for profile allocation config), example roles 0001 u2013 0009.
You might be interested that the flag "RA - Role Used for Allocation of Profile to Register" is set for your role.
I have never used any config for Allocate Operand Roles

EDM Profile upload and Timezone

Hi friends
When importing profile values using std BAPI, I am facing a problem, my time zone is EST ( UTC-5) but the data from interval (CMEP format) meter is in UTC thus a value of 05:00:00 in the file is actually 00:00:00 in the system. Now it is becoming difficult to match the data against the local time ( EST) both in Table and in display during profile value upload
I have tried changing the time zone in the system and in user profile. can you please help

Hi Roy,
Use FM ISU_DATE_TIME_CONVERT_TIMEZONE. On table TTZZ, you have the all existing Time Zones.
Here a Test for you case with FM test interface.

EDM price profile upload process and Day light saving issue

we have a requirement to upload EDM price profile (with 60 min interval). Which are the function module or BAPI's are there to upload the price profile in EDM. Also which table holds this dat. I guess it is EPROFVAL60 and can be seen using transaction EEDM01.
Also, there is a scenario of DST (day light saving- US client) mean sometime there will be 23hrs value or sometime 25 value. How to handle this. I guess all this price value store in table EPROFVAL60 (hourly value) but the structure of this table can take 24 hrs value. Any suggestion on this.

In the profile header there is the field u201CTime Zoneu201D. There the specification of
Time Zone for EDM Objects is possible, e. g. where an installation is billed or profile data is displayed.
The configuration in IMG u2013 customizing leads to the transaction STZAC and STZBC.
This updates the tables: TTZD - Summer time rules or TTZDV - Summer time rules (variable dates)
Please watch the OSS notes frequently, since there are some updates lately.

Function module to create formula profile : Device Management/ EDM

Hi experts!
We create Formula profile against register 2 of the bi-directional device using transaction EEDM06.
We create profile header by using function module "ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE" but this function module doesn't have input parameter that need to passed specifically creating Formula profile like-
Formula Prof. Calc = ZNET (fixed)
Status Group = (i.e., value valid, est man, changed/entered, from date) fixed
Profile = Profile1 as allocated to RG-002. (always)
After saving this Formula profile header, allocate the profile to Device is also couldn't be done using function module ISU_S_PROFHEAD_CREATE .
Please help me is there specific function module to create Formula profile. If you need any clarification, please suggest.

you could also create a master data template in EPRODCUST for MD Template Category INSTALLATION & EDM_PROFHEAD if you need to create the profile header.
We've wrapped some in function module interfaces for easy automation.
ISU_S_LPASSLIST_MAINTAIN is an internal function, so I dont recommend building anything on it.

Allocate a profile to an installation

Hello together,
I want so allocate a profile to an installation.
SLP profile header with all information is created.
The next step would be to assign the profile to the installation using the transaction ES31 to change the settings of the installtion. But the button "Profile" on installation-change level is not existing.
Now my question is:
did I forgett some setting during edm customizing or did I do a mistake when setting up the installtion ?
I'd really appreciate help solving this issue.

Remembered I had this problem as well, see note 1695774:
Cause
The customizing settings for authorization object E_INSTLN3 are incorrectly set.
Resolution
To resolve this issue you need to provide the corresponding user the full authorization for authorization object E_INSTLN3.
Execute Transaction PFCG to Create or Change the role assigned to the user.
Add authorization object E_INSTLN3 to role via the authorizations tab. Select the tab.
Click on "Change Authorization Data" button.
Click on Manually button.
Enter Authorization object E_INSTLN3.
Click on + to expand the tree.
Give the * value to all fields in the role by clicking on the *. See image below for example.
Save the role and generate it (shift F5).
Add role to the user account in SU01 or users tab in PFCG of the role view.
