Edwardian Script ITC as font in Dreamweaver CC
Hi there. I wanted to know if there is a way I can use the font "Edwardian Script ITC" when making my site in Dreamweaver CC. Thanks for your help.
Hello,
no resignation please, here we all are beginners somehow or other. What I can do is to show the options, to get DW's fonts, step by step (and sorry, always translated from my German DW).
When I want to use another font "IN" my DW, I can "modify" > managing fonts > select Adobe Edge Web Fonts OR local Webfonts OR fonts "of my own". And now see my different screenshots:
Maybe this could help you.

Edwardian Script for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3
I have Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, I'm having trouble finding the font Edwardian Script in this version of lightroom. Is there a way to get this font in this version of lightroom?
Fonts in Lightroom come from the OS fonts normally. Do you have this font installed already?

Need Edwardian Script for CS5- anyone know where I can get it?
I have a client that wants Edwardian Script for her wedding video. I don't have it on any of my Adobe CS5 products. I do not want to join the cloud. Anyone know how I can get the font and use it with CS5?
I saved the font to my C drive, and then re- launched PP.
Saving the font will not show up in PP. You need to "install" the font into your "Fonts" directory. Did you install it or just save it? If you did not install it you should just be able to right click on the font and select to install it from the contextual menu. Once the font has been "installed" in your Fonts directory all of the apps will read it. I have Edwardian Script installed on my machines and the Adobe apps read them fine. -
ClearType makes fonts in Dreamweaver code view hard to read
I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 with Windows Vista Business. As
you know, Vista has a feature called "ClearType," which is supposed
to help smooth out the on-screen fonts. It normally does do this,
but for some reason, in Dreamweaver code view, some of the edges of
fonts are cut off, making it very difficult to read at times. See
pic here:
http://www.klife.com/fontscutoff.jpg
I've tried changing the display fonts within Dreamweaver
(from Courier New to Arial, etc.), but it doesn't help. Actually,
Arial is worse. But here's what fixes it: turning off ClearType. I
haven't noticed ClearType messing any fonts up in programs except
for Dreamweaver. Why is DW doing this and is there anything I can
do to get ClearType to work with it?You might want to try Clear Type Tuner. It is a Microsoft
tool to let you
adjust your clear type settings to your liking. It was
written for XP. I'm
not sure if they have a Vista version out yet, but the XP
version might
work.

Here is an online version, which I have not tried.

Hi! I'm having problems with using the Myriad Pro font in Dreamweaver CS6. Although the font is in the list of fonts, the selection becomes green in css and when previewing it in a browser, it transforms into the second choise, which is Arial. Is Myrad Pro not possible to use, or is it something I have to do in order for it to work? Since I can select the font in Dreamweaver, it's a bit strange if it doesn't work?
If the computer you use to view the site does not have the font installed, it will go to the next font in the list until it finds one it has.
In order to use a font that is not on a viewer's computer, you will need to use the @font-face rule in your css and link to uploaded font files (minimum of two to cover all browsers)...

Strange System Font in Dreamweaver. After I installed Dreamweaver CS4 on my Mac, it loaded this strange font as seen in the photo attached. Anyone know how to fix this? I have uninstalled/reinstalled many times to no avail. There are no other problems with w/ other CS4 programs, they all have the normal system font. I can't figure it out. Thanks!

Why do I lose the quality of my fonts in dreamweaver after slicing in photoshop ?
why do I lose the quality of my fonts in dreamweaver after slicing in photoshop and saving it for web with the highest quality ? Itried everything from different font to highest resolution.
Resolution means nothing on the web. Most browsers render images at 72 dpi (slightly higher on some mobile devices).
What matters on the web is the number of pixels contained in the image (i.e. 500px wide x 325px high) and the file type used to save it (PNG, JPG or GIF).

Edge Web Fonts in DreamWeaver CS4
Can anyone please confirm whether CS4 can work with Edge Web Fonts? I have followed the DreamWeaver official tutorial, plus two others I found on YouTube, to the letter, but my text still seems to be in Comic Sans, which is not the font I copied. if I just knew it couldn't be done in CS4 I could stop now, as I have already spent 4.5 hours trying to change the font of one word!
Thanks
JoanneHi Joanne,
I'm not quite sure if Edge fonts work with CS4, but there is one error source in DW's advice of the "JavaScript tag", it's written without ""http: ...", so please try: <script src="http://use.edgefonts.net/source-sans-pro; ...".
Good luck!

How do i embed a font into a website. I have used photoshop and saved everything as an impage, but I'd like to be able to use the text in dreamweaver.
www.donna-tillotson.com
thank youAs Mark said, check your font license very carefully. Fonts are protected by intellectual property laws in much the same way that software is protected from unlawful copying, modifying or distributing. Just because you can use a font in Photoshop doesn't mean the license extends to embedding it on web pages with @font-face.
CUSTOM WEB FONT SOURCES:
Adobe TypeKit - https://typekit.com/
They host thousands of web fonts on their secure servers for your web pages to access. But you need a license to use their service. If your site gets much traffic or you want to use more than a few fonts per site, you'll need to pay a modest subscription fee (approx $4/month).
Google Web Fonts - http://www.google.com/webfonts#ChoosePlace:select
Google Fonts are free and conveniently hosted on Google's servers. However, some of Google's fonts aren't available in all flavors: TTF, EOT, OTF, SVG & WOFF. Preview your Google fonts in all browsers/web devices before you use it.
Cufon -- http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/
Some Cufon scripts are not compatible with IE. If you're experiencing difficulties, you'll want to ensure that you are using the very latest yui.js script. As of this writing, it is version 1.09i - http://cufon.shoqolate.com/js/cufon-yui.js?v=1.09i

How can I use an Open Type Font in Dreamweaver?
I bought some OTFs, Open Type Fonts. I want to use them in Dreamweaver. I am on a Windows machine. When I look at the Edit Font List section in Dreamweaver, it has a tiny selection of fonts. I know I have more on my computer.
How would I add these fonts for use in Dreamweaver ? I have already installed them on my system.<I don't understand the whole world of font-licensing, so I thought I would be safe by using these fonts which I have purchased with a commercial license.>
That doesn't mean the license extends to digital & web media though.
The fonts licensed by Kindle and included in the Fire are:
Georgia
Caecilia
Trebuchet
Verdana
Arial
Times New Roman
Courier
Lucida (of which there are several and the one in Kindle appears to be Sans Unicode)
The new Kindle Paperwhite offers users the option to select:
Caecilia
Caecilia Condensed
Baskerville
Futura
Helvetica
Palantino
Older Kindles and the Kindle DX uses Caecilia only. The Kindle computer and mobile apps display the same as the Fire.
The prevailing opinion is that eBooks should not force fonts on people. Let the user decide which body fonts are best for viewing on their particular device.

Watermark Script - not embedding font
Im using the addwatermarkastext feature to place the current date on the bottom of a file. Have noticed that this font is not embedded. If I use the Acrobat Document Add Watermark feature it embeds the font.
How do I get my script to embed this font -- using same font so it is not a licensing issueOk given what you stated I did the following:
1 Embedded my Frutiger font using Flash CS3 (simply Frutiger 55 Roman & bold)
2.My css looks like this:
@font-face
src:url("../fonts/Frutiger1.swf");
fontFamily: "Frutiger 55 Roman";
fontStyle: normal;
fontWeight: bold;
/*fontStyle: normal;*/
.TextTitleBlue
font-size: 28px;
font-family: "Frutiger 55 Roman";
font-Style: normal;
font-weight: bold;
font-Style: "75 Black";
fontFamily: "Frutiger 55 Roman";
font-weight: bold;
fontStyle: normal;
fontSize: 28;
fontAntiAliasType: normal ;*/
color: #EE8011; /* orange */
The result is that nothing shows up (not even a system substitute font). If I change my font-family to Arial in the TextTitleBlue class of course the text will show, so obviously its a problem with my font. I even tried taking out " font-Style: normal; font-weightBut" out of my TextTitleBlue class but still no luck. You said if I simply have fontStyle as italic or normal and fontWeight as bold or normal it should work right?....
thx

InDesign CS3 script that changes fonts on open
Hello.
I am trying to come up with a script that would change a specific group of fonts, that will always show up missing, to the new font. Basically, it is a bunch of our postscript fonts that are now using our open type font. Below is what I have so far. I want to create a list that goes through about 8 fonts that are old and replace them on the fly with the 8 new fonts. This would be great if I could have this happen on open.
Can anyone see what I have and offer some guidance?
thanks
babs
Open this Scriplet in your Editor:
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
set find text preferences to nothing
set change text preferences to nothing
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
set OLDfont to {"times", "arial"}
set NEWfont to {"times new roman", "helvetica"}
--set find what of find text preferences to testString
tell document 1
repeat with swap from 1 to 2
set NEWfont to item swap of OLDfont
end repeat
end tell
end tell
end tellFor starters, you're going to have to use the correct font names, including correct capitalization. The property you want to change is "applied font", not "find what". And it would probably be more sensible, to go through all paragraph and character styles and make the changes there first, otherwise you'll have troubles again every time you edit stuff.
So start off by getting the name of the font used in every paragraph style, and loop through your list to see if they should be changed. Do the same for character styles. And then do the find/change to find any that have been applied manually. -
Myriad Pro font with Dreamweaver 8
Hello !
Im making a web site, all the text are in myriad pro font...It looks realy nice in web browser on mac, but not on widows machines because there is no font like myriad pro, and for default it uses arial font.
Is any chance to join html with myriad font...I tried with css but no luck, my css was generated autamaticly in html code as you can see here:
http://www.shrani.si/f/h/13U/1qJvLS4y/picture-10.png
Any idea how to solve this, so myriad pro will be visible at any windows osAny idea how to solve this, so myriad pro will be visible at any windows os
No font is ever visible on any machine unless it has been installed on that machine, and Myriad Pro does not come with Windows. So unless someone has bought Myriad Pro or bought Adobe apps that come with it, they cannot display it. You need to turn your text into a graphic or pdf for everyone to see that font. The best place to ask about how to do things with Dreamweaver is probably the Adobe forums:

Designing with web fonts | Learn Dreamweaver CS6 | Adobe TV
Web fonts have become an important part of many web designers' workflows. Dreamweaver CS6 adds support for web fonts through the new Web Fonts Manager. See how to use the Web Fonts Manager to add, manage, and apply web fonts throughout your sites.
http://adobe.ly/IUFnwRI've been wondering for ages why DW doesn't just show my web fonts in Design View, and now I'm none the wiser. Why doesn't Design View look at your fonts (not your system fonts, your folder fonts) and display them?
With Font Squirrel you don't even need to / or shouldn't even need to go through that rather bizarre "global" Web Fonts dialog. DW should just look at your fonts folder and work out it needs to display the fonts.
I'd give this first generation attempt 1/10. -
Fonts in Dreamweaver not appearing in Chrome/IE/Safari ?
Hi
I recently downloaded a particular font I liked :
Akzidenz Grotesk Light
Basically, it then appeared successfully in my font list in Dreamweaver.
I applied it successfully to my CSS rule. Looks good right ?
Nope - when I preview this dreamweaver page in Chrome/IE/Safari, this font defaults to Times New Roman ???
Do I require a font license with this font [Akzidenz Grotesk Light] - in order for it to work ??
Is there a workaround - this is very frustrating.....I don't quite understand ?
ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED - very frustrated irishman here
thanks
BrianAkzidenz Grotesk Light is not a web safe font. And I suspect it is not a file type that is recognized by your browsers.
For best results, use font-families from the Web Safe Font Stack
http://cssfontstack.com/
Or, use embedded Custom Web Fonts from a font distribution network like Google Web Fonts, Adobe TypeKit, or Edge Web Fonts.
