EE BUY OUT

Interesting. Wonder where this leaves me. Already a long standing BT customer, broadband, infinity land line, BT sport . Only thing I don't have is the TV EXTRA as I need basic SKY CHANNNELS BT don't provide.
Add to the mix I am also a longstanding Orange (EE) mobile customer albeit in the last 6 months a hugely disgruntled And unloved by Orange customer.
I have a year to go on my contract. On the face of it this seems good news for me as I was contemplating in a years time moving to a new provider. However, will the only offer I get be a total bundle where I am forced to take EVERYTHING including the TV part. In my position as a pensioner I could not afford both BT AND SKY.
Will I be offered anything at all.? Seems all the good deals go to new customers. As I have a foot in both camps I may end up a real big loser.
My experience of BT AND customer care has far out reached that of Orange. Will this remain so?
I await developments with both intrest and apprehension.

10 plus years ago they moved out of the mobile arena to concentrate on their core business. Now this is all in my hublest of opinions of course.
A) So by concentrating on what was their core business of network infrastructure (wired) was, they have spent a decade doing very little for this countries wired network infrastructure.
B) Only recently have BT Openreach opened their hallowed doors so the public can get a small glimpse into it. (funny that isn't it). No sooner have they opened the doors then all of a sudden Openreach (the white van people who service the physical lines) are going to be moving over enmass into the mobile/wifi arena so I bet a pound to a penny this will suddenly be of no value to the wired network. And responses for physically line will be downgraded to a low priority. As they will focus all their attention into the mobile arena.
This 12 billion pounds for them to purchase EE comes from the last 10 years of woeful under investment and badly managed physical networking and expensive charges.
Now don't get me wrong mobile communications a fast wireless BB ability would be of benefit. However I am old school. I have all the wireless communication I need at home. However what I don't have and I am unable to get is the speed from a physical line that my router is attached to.
Would it not have been better to improve the physical lines to a point in the individuals home where it could cope with the inordinate amount of wifi devices home users have now a days?
I would have hoped that FTTH, Fiber To The Home would be the holy grail of a BT network infrastructure. Very fast and unlimited per household that homes themselves could become part of the BT infrastructre.
I understand there are technical issues to overcome however they are not unsurmountable, but there is already the physical lines inplace they just need investment and upgrading.
It's as though (again IMHO) BT know they have made a dogs dinner of the physical network and are now looking like they want to jump ship into something else as just to take the heat off them for the inordinate amount of frustration this is now causing them.
The other fact is that where I live there is no mobile provider and no signal other than emergecy services. So even that will leave some of us high and dry.
£12 billion would have gone some considerable way in connecting homes sorting out the network and providing a stable and efficient network capable of sustaining and improving a physical infrastructure that they could build upon.
I really wait with abaited breath to see how BT's possible purchase of EE pans out. But I see it as BT trying to leave behind a mess of their own making.

  • Can I buy out my contract to transfer phone number to company account?

    Hello,
Currently I have a droid phone under contract with Verizon, and I am eligible for an upgrade in June, 2015, but can buy out of the contract for $180.  I also am going to get a company phone for my job, but it is required that this be the iphone 6 and it can be either with Verizon or AT&T service.  Ideally I would like to just transfer my number to my company account and use the iphone full time, but unfortunately it's not that simple.
Here are the options I've been informed I have:
    1) Have the company take over my account for no cost, but the company would have to pay $649 for a new iphone since I'm not eligible for an upgrade, and I'm not sure I can get this added cost approved.
    2) Get a separate company phone number and iphone that the company will buy for me (I think it will cost them $200).  Not ideal because I would either lose my phone number or I would have to keep paying for my phone and carry 2 phones around.
Here's the option I want, but nobody can confirm it is possible:
    3) I buy out my old contract for $180, then transfer the phone number to my company phone where I would get a new contract and a new iphone.  I'd be fine paying the $180 out of my pocket since I'd make that up in savings in 3 months.  I was on hold with customer service while 2 service people were debating whether or not this was possible, but after 15 minutes of dead air I had to leave to attend a work meeting, so I don't know if it's possible.
Here's the option I don't want to but may be forced to do:
    4) Start a new contract with AT&T through my company and have my number ported over.  I would then pay the $180 to Verizon to get me out of my obligation.
In case anyone has actually taken the time to read all this, here are my questions:
    - Is Option #3 actually possible?  Has anyone done it?
    - Is Option #4 possible?  If it is possible, wouldn't Verizon just prefer I do option #3.
    - Are there any other options I'm not considering?
Thanks for any input you can give

    Hello Kinquana,
Yes, I'm available for Early Edge upgrade, but from what I can tell it doesn't really offer my company any savings versus them just buying the iphone up front at full price, and it probably just creates complications for the IT department.  Either way, it's an additional cost that I would have to get approved.
So it sounds like my best option is to just move my number to AT&T and cancel my verizon account?  Seems like you would not want that to happen.
I do not have any issues with my current phone, but my company requires that I get an iphone due to compatibility with email and security.
    Thanks for the quick response

  • After buying out of of my edge Contract can I sell the phone to my friend? Would it be unlocked?

After buying out of of my edge Contract can I sell the phone to my friend? Would it be unlocked?

Yes, after paying full price for your phone, you can do whatever you would like with the phone.
Whether or not it will be unlocked depends on what you mean by "unlocked" and what type of phone you have.
Phones sold by different manufacturers utilize different radios/technologies and may not be fully supported by phone sold by other providers. For example a phone sold by a GSM provider would not be compatible with a CDMA network. A phone sold by Verizon MAY have partial compatibility with a GSM provider in the US even though the manufacturer states the phone would ONLY be compatible with the Verizon network.
Your friend would certainly be able to get ALL functionality on the Verizon network with your phone, though.

  • Contract buy out

My contract ends 4-17-15. I'm eligible for the edge program but I don't want to trade in my iPhone 5 that I paid for. Is it possible to buy out the last month so I can keep this phone and get the 6 + ?

coltsdave, we would love to see you with a new iPhone 6! I apologize that we're unable to change your upgrade date and there's no option to buy out of your current contract. Edging up would be the fastest way to upgrade to that phone. However, you would be required to trade in your current device. http://vz.to/1mYDhk7

  • Typical buy out

why is it when companies like adobe buy out over software
they decide to change every-thing and not for the better. take DW,
i downloaded the trial and ended up with some software called
bridge. If i wanted this i would have DL it.I want DW and when i
finally get it, well needless to say cs3 is rubish for what i use
    it for.
going back to macromedia's DW 8. im not paying $200 odd for
this cs3 when it wont do what i want.
    short rant over, sry
    mullet

My opinion is that it has added quite a lot - more than
    enough to justify
the upgrade for me. If you are seeing only a little, then
    either your
workflow is very different from mine, or you need to look
    more carefully.
After using the CSS tools in CS3, I could not go back to DW8.

  • IPhone Hold up-Sprint Service Contract buy out?

I have been waiting for 33hours for activation to complete. I know someone who has run out of his contract with Sprint and I think because of that he got activated in 20 mineuts. I called Sprint yesterday (Sat) and they said to just let it go through and not confuse the issue. Here it's Sun. and no final activation. I tried calling the billing department of Sprint this morning and a message said to call back during normal business hours ???? I think Sprint has put a hold on releasing my number to Att because they want thier contract buy out money first. Anyone out there still waiting and also have pending contract with Sprint?

I have experienced this problem as well and it is intermittent to say the least. I have two other friends that have an i-phone as well, and when the phone crashed it stored a picture of the screen in the photo library of the phone. I thought that was a little odd as well. I have another friend that has not updated to 2.0 yet and does not seem to be having any problems at all. I would venture to guess that there is a problem with the update and that an update will be out sometime to correct the problem. If anyone knows of a way to correct the problem please post a fix for us.

  • Will Verizon buy out a Sprint contract?

Is this still true?  I would switch today if I could get out of my contract.

No, Verizon Wireless doesn't buy out contracts from other carriers.

  • Buy out contract

Does anyone know how I find out how much it will take to buy out my contract.

Not enough information provided. Is it a smart phone? Or basic phone?
Smart phones are $350 for early termination fees minus $10 per month through months 1-24
Basic phones are $175 for early termination fees minus $ 5 per month through months 1-24
    Good Luck

  • Sprint Buy-out -help!

I Love Verizon and don't want to leave but with sprint having an unlimited data plan AND offering to buy out my contracts for all 5 of my lines, I am very torn and really want the new iPhone. Is there anything Verizon will do to keep me?

Ackaufmann, we would love to see you with a new iPhone and keep you in our wireless family. Unlimited data plans are a thing of the past. However, we're giving you so much more with our new plans: http://vz.to/1lwOwRQ How much data do you use per month? http://vz.to/1qhEcv5

  • I Want motherboards buy-out New?but help

    Hello everyone ,
    I Here Member New   , }
I Want Help for buy-out (motherboards) I Want tool standing good between (K8N Diamond , K8N SLI Platinum) ?
    NoteS: I Have(*AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice*) and (*MSI NX6600GT-TD128E Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card*)
    Thanks

My honest advice to you would be don't buy a MSI motherboard.
Some may have good reviews, but these are based on a couple of hours testing in some lab. The real test of a motherboard is how the end user community rates the board, after weeks and months of use.
Do some research in public forums on any of the Mobo's u you are thinking of. Then base your decsion on that.
I made the mistake of buying an MSI mobo, when i'd previously used only DFI or Asus.
With MSI you are prone to stabilty problems and they seem incapable of releasing bios updates in time with new hardware/processors. Indeed MSI is the ONLY mobo Manfn who cannot write a bios that offically supports Venice + San Diego chips, when every other major manfn released them, months ago.
Its only my humble experience and view , but MSI are when it comes to MOBO.
Forums are great thou and everyone here is most helpful.

  • Buy out

I want to know if I can pay my early contract termination fee and then early egde my line? Again I am willing to pay the Early termination fee

You only have to pay the ETF if you are cancelling a line or porting a line out to another provider while under contract. There is no other scenario in which you have to pay an ETF.
"Early Edge" is a limited time promotion where you are entering into an Edge agreement while you are still under contract. You DO NOT have to pay an ETF to enter into an Early Edge agreement, but you do have to return the phone you purchased when entering into your current contract in good working order without any physical/water damage. If you return the phone and Verizon finds it to not be in good working order or has some physical/water damage I believe there is a fee of $299 which will be charged to your account.
Whether or not Verizon is currently offering Early Edge, I do not know.

  • Can I buy out my monthly finance contract for my Mac Book Pro?

I currently pay montly for my Mac Book.  I have a year and a half left, is there a possibility of paying the rest of the money off immediatly?

You must contact Apple for an answer to your question.  This forum is populated by Apple users, not by any  Apple corporate representatives.
    Ciao.

  • Want to pay off Verizon EDGE phone 100% and yet still can't get out of Agreement??

My fiance was talked into getting on the EDGE plan and apparently not many employees know the rules behind the actual Agreement.  They told us originally he could get on the EDGE plan and when we were ready we could combine our accounts, I am not under the EDGE program btw.  So when it came time when I was ready to add him under MY account they said we couldn't because he had the EDGE plan.  So they then said we could buy out the EDGE Agreement and combine the accounts then.  The associate told me to "think" about it though and also to wait til the 8th when my cycle ended.  Well, I went into another Verizon store yesterday because it was the only time our schedules allowed for it during the time and was told that yes, we could buy out the phone and Agreement but we have to wait 30 days from when he got on the plan?????  If I'm not mistaken the FAQ's section on this website for the EDGE Agreement states we can buy out the phone (pay the entire amount) and be done with it AT ANY TIME.  Did I read that wrong or does Verizon NOT want $335 out of my pocket immediately?  I just want some answers, straight answers and the RIGHT ANSWER.  I'm tired of talking to reps and getting different stories and answers every time.  Let us please buy out this Agreement and get back on a regular 2 year plan so we can combine our accounts.

    1.  We did not know it was not a real Verizon store, when it has "Verizon Wireless" plastered in big letters all over it, well it's a tad bit misleading.  Had we known at first it wasn't legit, we would have never stepped foot in the door.  Lesson learned.
    2. I did not sign up for the EDGE plan, my fiancé did and he did so without researching about it like I would have done.  But he was desperate for a new phone cause he thought his Pantech Maurader was a piece of junk.  However, I do not believe it was even that.  After my research on the Android Operating System updates, I would say its the new updates that are junk.  I am under the regular 2 year plan and am perfectly happy with my old iPhone 4 and my contract and the fact that I have to barely deal with situations like this, until now.
    3. I want him under my plan because I get the better employee discount and we'd like to save money by having our accounts combined.

  • Got charged full retail for a new phone instead of Edge Up, wiped out bank account, had to refuse shipment, no compensation for the time spent talking to 14  representatives over the phone in the last week, and still no refund??

On 9/29 I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB as an edge up from my 5S, swiped my card at the store to pay the Edge Up fee, and was told 10/31 was the expected ship date.
Didn't see the order on my My Verizon account, spoke with 3 representatives on the phone to actually get the order number so I could track it.
On 10/24 the ship date disappeared and I called to find out there was an issue with the payment. I gave them my debit card number over the phone for the Edge Up amount, and they charged me full retail -- OVER $1,000.
They promised it wouldn't post to my account and it wouldn't ship after cancelling the order. Next day it shipped. I called FedEx and refused the package over the phone.
I called when the payment posted the next day, totally wiping out my bank account and charging me overdraft fees.
They said they'd push for a refund immediately -- on Sunday, 10/24. It's now 10/30, I see no refund, I have no phone, and I have over $100 in bank fees from their mistake.
I spoke with a supervisor on the phone and they said they could refund the bank fees, but would do nothing for the fact that they screwed up my order, and told me it would be another 2-3 weeks before they actually ship a phone to me if I ordered today.
Sorry, but that's NOT good customer service. I can buy out my Edge agreement, sell the phone on eBay, and go to another carrier pretty easily. I don't want to leave Verizon's service, but I don't really see how they value me as a customer?
Does anyone else have some idea of what I could do about this whole thing??
TL;DR -- Verizon charged full retail for a phone instead of Edge Up fee, still no refund, no compensation for the inconvenience and stress they caused, and another 2-3 week wait on a phone I ordered a month ago.

That situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly.  Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled.  I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned.  Sorry this happened the way it did.  Definitely not efficient.

  • Early upgrade finger pointing: Apple and Verizon

I think I understand the Apple side if they don't want people buying their product at a discount, then upgrading to the next product at a discount.  Our issue is that we have a contract with Verizon for a feature phone, we need a smart phone due to a
