EEM policy: Syslog ED & logging Discriminator = Crash
Hi everyone!
I found a new bug in cisco IOS 15.1(4)M3 when running EEM script with syslog event detector.
If system logging performed using the "logging discriminator" and run concurrently EEM script with syslog event detector, then Cisco router crash and goes to reboot.
Cisco ISR G2 3925E.
Hi Joseph!

Logging broken / crashes Forms-session in AS10g
we have running DB10gR2 and Forms+reports-Services
and somtimes problems with blockings in the DB
(it seems blocking a main Table ,no user can work )
I want to check , if forms-session is broken
by lost LAN-Connection or crashing the applicatin-users browser
I visit the forms_application.log in
C:\oracle\OASFORMS\OASFORMSHome_1\j2ee\
OC4J_BI_Forms\application-deployments\formsapp\OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1
but nothing to see about that.

Console logging multiple crashes with name "systemstatsd" (Mavericks)
Ever since installing mavericks on my macbook pro ( mid 2009 ) , system keeps freezing every few minutes ( every 2 minutes ). It stays frozen for about 2 minutes. Doesn't matter what Application I am using ... its the same ( hang after a few minutes ).
I looked at Console app ( it itself has shows as not responding on Activity Monitor when I try to look at the crash reports ). Its been logging multiple crash reports under the name " systemstatsd " .... I have over 50 crash reports by now.
Here is a copy of what is inside those crash reports:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zZOHt88SYCtAnxZSn9QLbb9y9Q0OMPU-yI1D1Q4QkAU/ edit?usp=sharing
Here is EtreCheck Output:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JwCcLgh4vvun3NjWjh1iXOfNbjL9kJicdjrMLtzjbGs/ edit?usp=sharing
Few more things I tried:
Verify disk (Macintosh HD) --- it failed
Repair disk -- I repaired it after verify disk failed
Problem is still there repairing disk didn't do anything
Please helpSame problem with constant systemstatsd crashes - every 4 mins or so.
Computer is freezing for only a second or two each time.
Clean install of Mavericks 10.9.1 on a mac mini server Macmini4,1
Verify / repair disk revealed no problems. -
How do we track client deployment via group policy by referring log files globally
How do we track client deployment via group policy by referring log file centrally?
need answer from both CM07/CM012 by using GPO
There is NO Centralized tracking for GPOs.

I'm trying to get EEM to send an email using syslog extensions. The script works when run manually, but it never triggers from syslog.
Here is my syslog extension-
::cisco::eem::event_register_syslog occurs 1 pattern .*%SYS-5-CONFIG.* maxrun 90 queue_priority low nice 1
I have configured following this video-
http://www.cisco.com/cdc_content_elements/flash/ios/ios_commercial/send_email/Send_Email.html
I am running IOS 12.4(15)T7, but have tried others with the same results.
Any ideas? ThanksI've tried to implement this script on my router but came across the following error when the router tried sending the email:
021948: Dec 13 20:45:16.898: %HA_EM-6-LOG: sendmail.tcl: smtp_send_email: error connecting to mail server:
can't read "reply_code_str(220-gateway.firewall.cx)": no such element in array
Obviously the code in the parenthesis (220-gateway.firewall.cx) is what my email server is returning to the router when it tries to connect.
Can someone advise on how I can overcome this issue or declare the system message the email server will send to the router when it tries to connect. Here is an example of what the router gets when trying to connect:
220-gateway.firewall.cx ESMTP Exim 4.69 #1 Tue, 13 Dec 2011 20:44:49 +0200
220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,
220 and/or bulk e-mail.
Many thanks in advanced.

Suspicious Console Log, Computer Crash
My computer has been repeatedly crashing as of yesterday afternoon. I ran a virus scan this morning and when it completed, it again crashed. So I had to open the console log to view the virus scan summary, and coincidentally I came across a suspicious looking activity log, during the same minute the crash occurred.
Any advice?

Recovery window retention policy deletes archive logs before a backup?
Hi All,
Oracle 11G on Windows 2008 R2
This afternoon, I changed my RMAN retention policy from 'RETENTION POLICY REDUNDANCY 3' to RETENTION POLICY RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS'
However, i checked tonight and after my daily backup ran, all the archive logs prior to the backup had been deleted! Thus meaning i dont think i can restore to any point in time, prior to my daily backup. All the .arc logs were there after the backup. So i tried another test and kicked off the daily backup again. During the backup process, the archive logs got deleted again! Now i don't have any archive logs..
Is this proper behaviour of RETENTION POLICY RECOVERY WINDOW?? I thought it would keep all the files needed for me to restore to any point in time for the previous 3 days. When i used REDUNDANCY, with my daily backups, it kept 3 days worth of backups+ archive logs so i could restore point-in-time to any point. How can i use RECOVERY WINDOW so that i can actually restore to any point-in-time for the 3 days??
I wanted to change to RECOVERY WINDOW since i read that by using REDUNDANCY it only keeps X copies of a backup (so if i ran the backup 3 times in a day, i would only have those 3).
Thanks in advance.Hi All,
Here is the SHOW ALL output:

I recently had my macbook pro repaired by applecare. For three years the computer was crashing whenever i played world of warcraft. after receiving it back form apple they had replaced the logic board, 2 fans and two thermal sensor cables. The game and everything else worked like a charm for the past two days... right now, however, all hardware cut out.. couldn't move the mouse, keyboard wouldn't respond.. but i was still receiving instant messengers. finally everything froze and i had to power down.. here is what the sysem.log file said. any ideas?

Three or four times in the past few days my system has became unresponsive requiring a power-cycle. The little prism-colored round-cursor appears. I can drag windows about with my BlueTooth mouse (but not the trackpad) and that's about. The Function keys are not responsive. Other times the UI may becomes totally unresponsive.
A couple of weeks ago I Carbon Copy cloned my hard drive to a new 500GB Hitachi 7200 RPM ( I have 200GB free space now ). Before upgrading, I do not recall having had this problem. It usually occurs when I am running a Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 VM under Parallels. Parallels may have nothing to do with it as that's what I do all day ( develop Linux software in a VM ).
I have a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz, OS X 10.6.3.
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions,
-EdThis is a Mac OS X issue. I am not using Boot Camp or otherwise dual-booting. I am running Linux in a virtual machine under a Parallels Mac OS X host; in effect running Linux as an application under OS X.
Unfortunately I did not see any clues in either log file location. Thank you very much for explaining where to look. I ran Disk Utility and repaired a bunch of permissions. Perhaps I should have done this before and after making the Carbon Copy clone.

Hi
I am embedded developer. i don't have any knowledge about group policy and active directory. I need help ...please
we are launching msi , from group policy method for all client machine. (that Msi contains silent mode application, application run when msi launch).
My Question is:
1.How to i know msi launched successfully in all client machine. if msi could failed in any other client machine, how to i know?
2. Any other log will be created in server machine? if yes, How to i see that?
3. From server, How to i know my application launched successfully in client machine? I wont check all client machine one by one?
RanjithHi Ran_619,
According to my description, you would like to know how to check if the msi was installed sucessfully from the server. Right?
Based on my knowledge, there are no related logs which can record the result of Windows Installer. You can enable enable software installation logging on the client computer to help you troubleshoot issues that may occur when you install software packages:
Log on to the administration computer as the administrator.
Click Start, Run, and then run Regedit to add the following registry value (or modify it, if the value already exists):
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics
Enter the following:
Value: AppmgmtDebugLevel
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 9B (Hexadecimal)
For your information, please refer to the following artilces to lget more help:

How to view the Syslog Application logs in CLI
On CallManager 6.1.x, how do we view the Application Logs in the Syslog Viewer using the CLI? I know how to view the traces but not the Application or System logs in CLI. My RTMT to a customer is being blocked so I need to use the CLI. Thanks.
Event Viewer-Application Log = /var/log/active/syslog/CiscoSyslog.*
Event Viewer-System Log = /var/log/active/syslog/messages.*
From CLI:
To list application logs:
file list activelog syslog/CiscoSyslog.* date detail
To list system logs:
file list activelog syslog/messages.* date detail
To view a specific application log:
file view activelog syslog/CiscoSyslog.1
To view a specific system log:
file view activelog syslog/messages.1

Did you restore your database files to new */u02* mount point? -
Time Machine backup crawls, stops early. Logs show crash.
Recently had a hard drive crash on me. Since then I've bought a new SSD to replace it, then migrated everything over to from my Time Machine backup.
Now I'm getting frequent crashes, and notably, I'm unable to complete a fresh Time Machine backup. It doesn't show that there is a crash in the Time Machine interface, just stops. The logs, on the other hand, show a crash.
I'm copying them here. If anyone can read through and help me parse it, that would be a great start. I'm running Mavericks on a 15" Macbook Pro, early 2011. Thanks.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Hello, I don't if it's in this forum i have to post this question so excuse me if not . I've made a WS on a ECC6 SP14 via SOAMANAGER and generated a WSDL. With this WSDL, i've made 4 test with it : 1. I've picked the soap address within the WSDL, put
