EEWB (attributes from product set type)

Hi gurus,
I have a question about EEWB. Could you please help me.
There is possibility to add components (attributes from product set type) at item level:
Business object - BUSINESS_TRANSACTION
Extension Type - ADD_NEW_ITEM_COMPONENT.
Ive created an extension with certain set type (it consists of 2 attributes). Everything was ok. New fields with 2 attributes have been added to new tab in a sales orders item.
But then Ive added 1 new attribute to the same set type. So I think this new attribute is to appear on the same tab with 2 other attributes. But it doesn'tt!
Ive regenerated my extension, Ive recalled wizard for this extension. Nothing has changed. There is still only 2 attribute in the tab.
So is it normal situation and is it necessary to create a new extension in order new fields to appear in a tab? Or I can do something else without creating the new extension?
So could you help me and give any solutions. Appreciate any help.

How to Change an Attribute of A SET TYPE in SAP CRM

Hi ,
I have created an ATTRIBUTE through comm_attrset, and assigned it to a SET TYPE. Now I wanted to change the data type of this attribute. Its not allowing me to delete it, as its already assigned to teh SET TYPE. Moreover the set type is also not getting deleted as its assigned to a category ID.
Kindly let me know how can I change the attibute , if any one of you have come accross such situation.

You need to delete the attribute, save the changes and then re-create the attribute with new value table.
Also remove any dependencies before deleting the attribute.

From my experience, you cannot change an existing attribute of a set type (esp. when it has a dependency).
You need to delete the attribute, save the changes and then re-create the attribute with new value table.
Also remove any dependencies before deleting the attribute.

PPR - Additional attributes on existing Set type are not displayed.

Hi Expert,
I have requirement to add some fields to Product to display in PPR product tab. I have added attributes to existing Set type which is already configured to display on PPR - Product tab. After adding the new attributes, I regenerated Set type but still in CRMM_PPR I don't see these new fields although the existing attributes of set type are on screen.
Any idea what I am missing?

Can you show the relevant JSP code and set/get methods in the bean?
Sometimes this error is caused by capitalization. e.g. a request param of "myName" calls setMyName(). Also, your bean must have a no arguments constructor.
Also, if you don't specify an action,the form submits to the current URL so you should be ok. Are you sure that the JSP runs when the user submits the form?

Product set types

try to check this.
1) go to tcode COMM_ATTRSET in crm development system.
On the selection screen, select the radio button Attribute
Enter a name for the new attribute and choose Create
Enter a field description
On the Definition tab, maintain the field characteristics such as attribute type and length
If necessary, maintain values or value ranges on the Value Range tab
Save your entries.
2) adding attributes to settypes
go to COMM_ATTRSET
To create a new set type, choose the radio button Set Type, enter a set type name and
choose Create.
Enter a description for the new set type.
On the Definition tab,enter the following data:
On the Product Type Selection tile, set the Material indicator.
On the Characteristics title, enter object family.
Make sure that the Multiple Use indicator is not set.
On the Attributes Assigned tab, enter the attribute which you created previously
and save your entries.
check this for creating the settypes.

Using attributes from another entry type

Hey experts,
use case: there are multiple departments within the company. Each department has it's own folder in Active Directory where users are stored for that department. When a new user is created in IdM and send to AD he should be created in the folder relevant for his/her department.
I have created an entry type called Department and filled it with departments and their LDAP starting point for user creation. I have also created a reference attribute in MX_PERSON to the department name.
problem: when the job CreateADSUser is fired it receives pending value date from MX_PERSON but I need to use the LDAP starting point which goes with the department from the department entry type.
So my question is: how do I use the LDAP starting point value which is stored in my department entry type in a job which receives MX_PERSON data. I'm guessing a script or something but am unsure how to do this.

We did exactly the same thing but without using a separate entry type for the department, it was just the department number. We then in the code that calculated the DN of the person, coded in to read the department number and based on that enter a text string into the DN. If you want to do it with another entry type for department, the can't you load the value on the mx_person of department, which will be the MSKEY of the department you want, and then use ISGetValue (Or something like that) to get the name of that department based on it's MSKEY?

Combining attributes from two object types

Experts,
I have two files coming from FIM. Employee and department data. Employee file is expected to synch data for 'person' object and department file to synch data for 'organization' object.
Common attribute in these two files is department_id.
I want information in department file like department_name and department_city to also get populated in 'person' object attribute.
How to combine data for two different objects and source.

It answers my question. I was pondering over it for quite sometime.
Let me ask one more scenario.
Say I don't need/want 'department' object in metaverse.
In this case can I map the data coming in 'department' file to 'person' object type in FIM. I will use the department_id as the anchor.
For this MA, I will just use 'join'(and no projection). In this way I will be able to update the attributes coming from department file(like department name) directly in 'person' object.
So basically flow will be:-
MA1(Employee file)>> update/project 'person' object.(updating department_id along with other attributes).
MA2(Department data)>> only update(only joining & no projection) person object with department name and other information using department_id as anchor.
Kindly let me know your views. Will this create any issue in future?

Custom Set Types for Products

Hello,
We have added some Z set types for our CRM Products and have created two Z tables for this. But even though we update these tables, we are not able to get the values for product on the screen.
Can someone tell me what all tables should be updated when we have cutsom Set Types in use?

Hi Priyanka,
I Guess you want the Values in the Ztable as F4 help values for the Z attributes in Z set types of the product.
To do the same plz follow the steps mentioned below:
1) Identify the field(Attribute in Set type) for which you want the F4 help.
2) Go to SE11. Select Data Type and enter the name of the Attribute value.
3) Press Change
4) Doble click on the Domain to go to the domain element associated to it.
5) In domain element screen, go to Value Range Tab.
6) In Value Range Tab, you have a Value Table field, Enter the ZTable from which you want the value to be populated in F4.
7) Save and Activate the Domain element.
Test the scenario.

Replication of Product Attributes from ECC to CRM

Hi Experts - Is there any standard functionality in CRM which serves same as Product attributes of ECC.
In ECC, Product attributes 1 to 10 can be used as an indicator to check whether the ship-to party accepts the attributes of a product. During sales order creation system will give a warning or error based on product attributes of ship-to party and material.
Let us know, if this functionality supports in CRM.

I haven't found anything in the standard doc , si I guess these ECC product attributes don't have an equivalent in CRM, meaning we should use customer specific fields on ECC side and product "attributes" (in the sense of attributes of customized set types) on CRM side.

I have a problem when i try to assign a set type with the same value but diferent name on another set type to the same product category.
This is the detail of the error but i dont know where i have to set this indicator:
If you set this indicator for a particular hierarchy, all categories and set types in this hierarchy are created in the PME.
This gives you the following extended maintenance options at category level:
You can assign set types with multiple-value attributes
You can restrict value ranges and maintain default values for attributes of customer set types.
Any sugerence about this?

I create two set types, the description is not the problem. I have discover that when i try to assign these attributes in the same set type or in other appears this error.
The set types have the same values. For example:
zcountry1. Values: sp - spain. fr - france.
zcountry2. Values: sp - spain. fr - france.
When i try to configurate the comm_hierarchy in my category appears this error:
Set type zcountry2 contains multiple-value attributes.
Diagnosis
The set type ZGAME5 contains multiple-value attributes. It cannot be assigned to the category as extended maintenance has not been activated.
Procedure
Multiple-value attributes are stored in the PME. If you want to use the set type ZGAME5, you must set the Extended Maintenance Options indicator for the hierarchy.
Extended Maintenance Is Possible for the Hierarchy
Definition
If you set this indicator for a particular hierarchy, all categories and set types in this hierarchy are created in the PME.
This gives you the following extended maintenance options at category level:
You can assign set types with multiple-value attributes

How to main multiple attributes for set type R E W ARD_PRO_LOY using IDOC?

I'm now trying to add the set type and attributes to my products existing in the CRM system. I decided to use LSMW and IDOC CRMXIF_PRODUCT_MATERIAL_SAVE to maintain the set type and attributes.
I successfully maintained the categories for the products and also assigned the set type. Now I need to add the attributes for this set type, where there are 3:
LMPRODUCT_TYPE
LOYPRODUCT_UNIT
LMPRODUCT_VALUE
But because in the IDOC structure only one attribute can be maintained at one time, how can I input all those 3 attributes together? Thanks a lot.

I tried to insert one data field first then update it by the second attributes, but then the system assigned two separated lines of data to my set type....

Get values from attributes of property sets

Hi!
Anyone know how to obtain values of attributes from property sets? Now I am using directly the EJBs but I would like to use tags (I found <ps:getPropertyNames> but it doesn´t give me the values) Any idea?

I am not sure if this is exactly what you mean but you can get the values of properties with the user management tags <um:getProperty> and <um:getPropertyAsString>. You are correct, though, in that the
<ps:getPropertyNames> tag only returns the names of the properties.

Cannot delete attribute from attribute set

I removed all business partners associated to the marketing attribute using Marketing Expert Tools, which I've done in the past with no problems. I then went to the attribute set and removed the attribute that I want to delete, but when I tried to save the system told me that I could not do it in dialog as there are more than 400 business partners associated to the attribute set (not attribute but the attribute set). It said I needed to run report RMCLMDEL, which is in CL6K transaction.
Is there any other way to remove this attribute without having to run that report?

Thanks for the tip, however, I must not have made myself clear in my message. I had already tried that and although it seems to work once you actually go back to the attribute set the system still will not allow you to delete the attribute from the set if the attribute set is associated with more than 400 business partners.
I also found OSS Note 772711 question 4 that validates this. I guess I will have to use the CL6K transaction afterall. Once again, thanks for your input

How to change the Organizational Dependency of a Set Type

Hi All,
With the creation of a new set type we made the mistake to not select "Distribution-Chain-Dependent" in the "Org. Dependency"-field.
Now we already maintained a few materials (only in development system) with data in the attributes of this set type, but noticed that the data is not Sales org. dependent. Seems logical, because we forgot to set this org dependency in the set type, but now we want to correct this and I hope you could provide us with the best way to do this.
The field it self is no longer editable in change mode (seems logical, since all tables/structures/relations are already created and messing with this dependency could mess things up) but we really need the org dependency for our product attibutes. So, I wanted to create a new set type, and replace the old one with this new one in our category, but I can't even delete the old set type from our category, because I get the message: "Products of this category already exist; Set type cannot be deleted".
What would be the best way to solve this? (is there a way to change the org dependency of the existing set type?/should I create a new set type? If so, how to delete the old set type and it's data?)

Our team has recently implemented CRM for one of our clients and now are integrating BW with CRM. Thus are developing corresponding objects in BW.
In CRM, the team has created many set types and made those BW relevant as a result system created datasources for each attribute of the set type.
Has anybody used set types to extract data into BW?
