EEWB: BDT Compare

Hi all,
we have done some changes to BUPA with EEWB. We have used EEWB for this before, so now we are doing changes to existing EEWB projects.
When transporting to Q&A we get problems, some screens in BP (regarding other EEWB projects that has also been changed in parallell...) are not showing up properly, but the dictionary/program objects seems to be in place correctly.
We found program BDT_COMPARE where it seems that you can create a Customizing transport with settings that are missing in Q&A compared to DEV system. These entries seem like they could actually be good stuff.
Has anyone used this report before who can verify that this could be the solution? We don't want to transport if we mess things up even more..
Any answer most appreciated!
Best regards,
Henrik

Hi
You can do this using BDT. Remove the Section from the Screen of Custom Tab and Attach this section to the Tab where you want . Its very simple.
Any problem Let me know

  • EEWB vs BDT

    Hi,
What's the major differences between EEWB and BDT?.
EEWB is used to add customer specific fields to DB and these automatically appear on the business transactions.
Can we use EEWB to add customer specific fields to standard tab instead of customer tab?
My understanding of BDT is mainly for screen configuration. Can we use BDT for any business object in CRM other than Business Partner(BUPA)?
If we can perform complete screen enhancement using the above two tools, what is the purpose of VCT(Visual Config Tool)?
    Thanks & Regards
    Kamal

    Hi,
actually, the EEWB uses the BDT to enhance the standard in a generic way. The functionality of BDT is larger then EEWB, which can only be use to add fields to the GUI.
BDT can also be used for additional logic etc...
The EEWB can not be used to add fields to the standard tab. SAP locks its standard because it tries to prevent issues when upgrading, so it's difficult to add fields to standard transactions/screens.
The BDT (business data toolset) is limited to a number of objects defined in it. Business transactions it not one of them. As far as I know, in CRM, it's limited to Business partners & relationships.

  • BDT & EEWB

I am working on a task to add custom fields to a standard SAP BP tab.  I was going to use EEWB to update BUT000 and create the custom tab in BP, then use BDT to move the fields over to the SAP standard tab.  I have never done this before, so here are my questions.
    1. After I use EEWB to add the fields to the table/screen, will I need to add code to the BADI? Or, can I take care of the rest with BDT?
    2. Is a combination of BDT and EEWB the best way to accomplish my goal?
    3. If so, please clarify what part of this development do I use EEWV for, and what part do I use BDT for?
Thanks for your help. It is greatly appreciated!

  • Comparing video quality of AVCHD BluRay discs using Final Cut Pro Share vs Compressor

Up front, I will admit to being a newbie when it comes to using Final Cut Studio 3 and would appreciate some feedback from the Apple forum experts.
I have spent a lot of time trying to determine how to achieve an optimum group of Compressor 3.5.2 settings so that the playback video quality of an AVCHD BluRay disc is equal to or better than one created by using the simpler auto settings of FCPro Share, version 7.0.2.
When using Compressor’s auto/default maximum settings, I experienced the same error message reported in:
Error MessageDuring Creation of Blu-ray Disc in FCP and Compressor 3.5
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/12073794#12073794
I have since made some Compressor AVCHD Discs with smaller bit rate settings and compared video quality with a single FCP Share AVCHD disc.  Both seem to be equal in providing a very good video when viewed on my new Panasonic DMP BDT 310 BluRay player. However, the Compressor AVCHD discs show some motion artifacts not present with the FCPro Share version, especially when scrolling text or when objects are moving through the field of view, and visible artifacts are seen from a stationary chain link fence and other lattice work in the background of the video sample.
My sample video used for the comparisons between Compressor and FCP Share discs is a 21 minute duration home movie, originally captured from a mini DV, Canon HV30 1080i camcorder using ProRes HQ encoding(1440x1080), and dragged into FC Pro 7.0.2 timeline where 10 chapter markers have been inserted.
To create an AVCHD disc using FCPro Share, Markers are used to set the IN and OUT points, Select IN to OUT from the timeline, pull down File Menu Share, Select Create BluRay from options in pop out Share pane, and designate output device along with picture files for Background, Logo, and Title options. When these are completed, click on Export.  My 21-minute video required almost two hours for encoding including about 10 minutes for burning. This accomplished on an iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
To prepare this same 21-minute video for use with Compressor, I again Select IN to Out from the FCPro timeline, but this time use File Export as a QuickTime Self Contained movie including Chapter markers. Then Open Compressor, choose Create BluRay from Template pane, right click on the down arrow in the Batch window and load the QT self contained movie file. From there I went to the Inspector window and tried various combinations of bit rate settings along with Frame Encoder options such as Better or Best motion parameter controls.
I have tried the following combinations of Bit rate settings along with varying Frame Encoder controls and burned an AVCHD disc for each example:
    Example A
Compressor set to 6 Mbps Average and 8Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings OFF. Approximately 4 hours to encode although the time remaining estimator indicated a larger value of ~7 hours; not an accurate estimator at all.
    Example B
Compressor set to 6 Mbps Average and 8Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motionadaptive)” settings. Approximately 4 hours to encode, not the 13 hours that were estimated.
Conclusion: Comparing A & B Compressor versions, Disc B showed some improvements in reducing motion artifacts over Disc A.
    Example C
Compressor set to 13 Mbps Average and 15 Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motion adaptive)” settings. Multipass checked. DeInterlace was checked. Unknown hours to encode; about 8 hours done overnight..
Conclusion: Disc C showed some minor improvements reducing motion artifacts over Disc B
    Example D
Compressor Auto settings,i.e., 15 Mbps Average and 17 Mbps Maximum, Frame Encoder settings ON, using “Better (Linear Filter) and Better (Motion adaptive)” settings. Multipass checked. Approximately 12 hours to encode, done overnight. Inserted disc next morning after the overnight encoding was completed, and a few minutes later an error message pane appeared that the maximum bit rate had been exceeded.  This message was consistent with the Apple posted thread referenced above. Unfortunately the long overnight encoding was wasted.
It seemed to me that the best Compressor settings for suppressing the motion artifacts were displayed by the disc burned in Example C, i.e.,  13/15 Ave/Max Mbps with“Better” Motion settings in the Frame Encoder.
However, when this disc was compared to the AVCHD Disc burned using the FCPro Share, the latter still seemed much better. I do not know what the auto bit rate values are as set in FC Pro, but for me, the quality is quite good AND the motion artifacts are significantly reduced, especially evident with the scrolling text.
Sorry about this long post, but I thought the detail would be necessary for the experts, and maybe helpful to others trying to get started in this BluRay arena.  Did I misuse Compressor?  I think the sample video exported as a self contained QT movie was the right thing to do?  Not sure where I went wrong.
Thanks in advance for Feedback and Recommendations.  For now, I’m going to stay with the simpler process using Final Cut Pro Share function.
    BoBo

Thank You, Brad, for responding;  glad to hear I'm not the only one having similar Compressor issues.
You may have hit on something.  Perhaps Compressor's use of H.264 encoding was the reason for my motion artifacts?  And perhaps Final Cut Pro Share retains the 1440x1080 quality as it burns the AVCHD BluRay disc?
I had Toast 10 for less than 30 days a couple of years ago, and was lucky to get a refund.
What version of Toast do you have?  Wondering if new Toast 11 has improved previous bugs, especially upgrading its Chapter text, pictures, music.  I would go back to Toast if it came close to mirroring DVD Studio Pro, or even iDVD capabilities.
    Thanks,

  • Without EEWB Is it Possible to add field to standard tab

    Hi Experts!
Without EEWB and enhancing Screen Is it Possible to adding field to standard tab. Any body can help out in this.
    URGENT
    Thanks
    vikram.c

Yes it is possible, but we are talking a modification of SAP standard here. Also the effort needed will be at least 10 times higher than using EEWB as you have to reprogram all generated code / screen helps that SAP provides. Moreover these fields are then still not exchanged with the interfaces / BDocs etc which will be also some more days of work. There is no usable documentation on this - at least not by SAP and I am not aware of another one. It is much easier to create an EEWB enhancement and then move the fields from one tab to another.
Doing this all by hand is like adding a second processor to an existing motherboard for more performance compared to exchanging the existing one with one of higher specifications. This is possible, but requires a) more work/time/material b) more experience c) you lose warranty d) in the end you do not know for sure what the outcome will be

  • How to extend an address of a BP  with more fields ???? EEWB??

    Hi Gurus,
I need to extend the address of a BP with some customer fields. I have tried to do it using EEWB but when you have to choose a Business Object for the new extension, the reasonable only possibility is to choose BUPA Object. Thus, the DB table BUT000 is extended with a custom include that contains the customer fields, but what I want to do is extending ADRC DB table. There is some way that I do not know of achieve this in which the system creates automatically all the FM for the BDT events????
If it is not possible, which would be the procedure to do that with my own development???
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Rosa

Rosa, you can only extend table BUP000 and not the actual address table. Sorry for that for more details on how to extend the BP itself refer to my WeBLOG I wrote on this. Have fun and let me know whether you need more help, Tiest.
Also do not forget to award points to useful responses.

  • Enhancement of Business Partner (Relationships) using BDT -Bus Data Toolset

    Dear Experts,
I have a requirement from my customer enhancing the Business Partner Relationships using BDT.
I should add 2 fields namely salary, employer start date in the Business partner Relationships, it must be added in the characteristics of relationships as one employee can have multiple employers and vice versa.
If I would like to add the fields in Business Relationships using BDT, are the steps same as adding fields in business partner? or do we need to perform any other steps? Did someone already did this type of modification, please provide your suggestions.
After adding the fields is it possible to cusomize the fields for history of the changes? e.g. if salary field has been newly added and after creating a BP after some days I want to change the salary and for the changed salary I want to have a history.
I would appreciate if you can help me with your suggestions.
    Many thanks and best regards,

    Hi Jason,
BDT is a framework and EEWB is a tool. The thingsw hich you can manually do with BDT can be automatically generated using EEWB. So, ultimately the changes done using either is same.
You can generated the custom field and related coding using EEWB and then use BUPT transaction to move your field to standard tab.

  • Modifying the custom tables TBZ* generated by EEWB for BUPA?? Advisable?

    Hi,
We have added new fields in BUPA using EEWB. The new fields are automatically added in the new section created on screen. Now our requirement is to move these fields to one of the existing sections and delete the new section. Is it advisable?
I assume that in the EEWB extension wizard, we do not have any option of generating the new fields in existing custom sections. Please correct me if I am wrong.
As per our current plan, To accomplish this change we are planning to modify the tables TBZ3H, TBZ3I, TBZ3C and TBZ3D for the view--> section --> screen mapping. Will that be enough or some more changes will be required?
Also, a new BDT application is created for the new section and there are corresponding entries in TBZ0A, TBZ0B, TBZ0C and TBZ1F. Now we are not sure that if we modify/delete these entries, how the system would behave. Any pointers are welcome!!
Specially for TBZ1F entries, should the new events function modules created for the new application be assigned to the already existing application.
    Please advise.
