Eexclude Measure Labels from display in 11g

In 11g:
When creating a chart (I just upgrade the report from 10g),
the Measure Labels appears on legend in addition to the series name.
I could not find way to exclude it from the chart.
If I un check the legend, I miss also the series names.
If I put it on section header I have problem in case of chart, which is part of pivot table view with sections - it is extra to the section column name.
Any ideas how to exclude the measure labels from display?

Bump.
While not idea by any stretch of the imagination, you can clean it up a bit by dragging 'Measure Labels' into the chart type areas as shown here --> http://imgur.com/UJmHT. It is not ideal, however. Oracle really needs to let you drag the measure labels to the 'Excluded' section.

  • ADF 11g: VO attribute labels not displayed in deployed application

    We are using JDev 11.1.1.2.0.
    In our project we have four ViewController projects, three of which are included in the "main" view project as ADF libraries. At least one of the library projects uses attribute labels defined in view objects for the UI, for instance in a simple search field dropdown list for selecting the search attribute. When the application is run on the integrated WLS or deployed to a local WLS instance, the labels are displayed correctly as entered to the view objects:
    http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/6750/adflabelscorrect.png
    When we deploy the application to the remote WLS server, however, some of these labels stop working and instead the search dropdown list displays the default values (column names) for attribute labels:
    http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/3811/adflabelsincorrect.png
    We have checked the deployment EAR file and confirmed that the model project's message bundle does include the labels which are missing from the UI:
    ses.model.vo.TukihakemuksetView.EsittelijaNumero_LABEL=Esittelij\u00E4
    ses.model.vo.TukihakemuksetView.RahaNumero_LABEL=Rahanl\u00E4hde
    ses.model.vo.TukihakemuksetView.HankNumero_LABEL=HankeThis problem doesn't affect all the labels though, as most of the values are correctly retrieved from the message bundle. It seems that the missing labels are at the bottom of the message bundle file, ie. the latest additions. For some reason the deployed version is not picking these up.
    The remote WLS is the same version as in the dev environment (10.3.2.0).
    Any ideas what might be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Joonas

    Replying to myself here, this is most likely related to the following Metalink bug report:
    Bug 9484924: RESOURCE BUNDLE IS NOT RELOADED AFTER STOP/START OF AN ADF APPLICATION
    No workaround available, though, except restarting managed server after bundle modifications..

  • Prevent null values from displaying in answers OBIEE 11g

    Is there any possibilities in OBIEE to Prevent null values from displaying in answers
    For example, If i have two records in table
    TV         cost=NULL(having agg rule sum in BMM layer)
    RADIO   cost=10(having agg rule sum in BMM layer)
    in answers i get two records
    TV       NULL
    RADIO 10
    but i want to get one, only with not null cost

    Just want to clarify your question,You want to eliminate the NULL values from the report am i right? If that is the case then put the filter COST <> NULL.
    Do let me know the updates?
    Thanks,

  • 11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

    I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
    The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
    Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
    Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

    Hi Paul,
    This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
    Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
    One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
    But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.
    Thanks

  • Application has problems when migrated from 10g to 11g

    Hi there,
    I am hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I have in moving an application from Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g. The app works fine on 10g (uses Apache webserver with PL/SQL module, and APEX 3.1.2.00.2), but on 11g using the embedded web server and APEX 3.2.0.00.27, it doesnt. Most of the app works fine, but there are a couple of pages that provide the ability to add child rows to a parent/child relationship, where the parameter passing mechanism from one page to the next appears to suffer from some sort of corruption. I have traced this using the "session" and "debug" buttons on the developer interface, which show that the values of the parameters get changed inexplicably, when branching from one page to the next - even when the page is actually branching to itself.
    I am using the "Set these items, "With these values" fields in the branch, and have verified that the correct values are being associated with the correct items in the application builder. But while this does work correctly under 10g, with 11g, the wrong values end up being passed. Just prior to the branch the set of parameters have the correct values, but immediately after the branch, one of the values is NULL, another has the value of a different item, and a third has a totally random value - I have no idea were it comes from!
    I migrated the application from 10g to 11g using the APEX application developer's Export/Import options. There have been no other changes. Should this have worked? If so, any ideas what might have gone wrong?
    Thanks,
    Sid.

    Well, I managed to solve this, but not in a way that makes much sense.
    In desperation (I had tried almost everything else!) I changed the value of "Cached" in the page settings from "No" to "Yes", and ran the app, but the page didnt render correctly (in either Firefox or IE7) - in fact all that displayed was the developers toolbar at the bottom of the page. I changed the value of "Cached" back to "Y", ran the app again, and hey presto - everything worked fine! I actually did this a second time with a fresh import of the app from 10g, just to be sure I wasnt seeing things. I wasnt!
    There was just one further issue - everything worked fine apart from this section of code in a page process:-
    ELSIF (:p9_filter_type = 5) THEN
    IF (:p9_x_gene_list IS NOT NULL) THEN
    :p9_filter := :p9_x_gene_list;
    END IF;
    :p9_entity_types := 'GENE';
    END IF;
    In 11g the value of :p9_entity_types was not being set to 'GENE' when :p9_filter_type was 5. This was (and still is) working in 10g. I changed the code as follows:-
    ELSIF (:p9_filter_type = 5) THEN
    :p9_entity_types := 'GENE';
    IF (:p9_x_gene_list IS NOT NULL) THEN
    :p9_filter := :p9_x_gene_list;
    END IF;
    END IF;
    ... and now it works fine in 11g as well.
    Only wish I knew why!

    After Migrating from 10g to 11g Geeting problems with Guided navigations and section navigations not working.
    And we are getting the following error <<odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW)>> where we have used navigations.
    In 10G we have Guided navigation Reports to display the Reports links and intermediate reports for conditionally displaying the Dashboard section(Reports) but after migrating to 11g Guided navigation reports and conditional reports are not working..
    We know that in 11g section navigation replaced with conditions and Guided navigation replaced with action link.. but
    do we need to recreate those reports in actions and condition or is there any work around avoid reworking.

    Hi Both,
    Thanks for the reply ...
    For Guided navigation we are getting like below error:
    Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).
    For Conditional dashboard section we are getting like below error:

  • Difference in behavior of sql and pl/sql after migrating from 9i to 11g

    after migrating our database from oracle 9i to oracle11g, the developpers are worry that the behavior of the queries and pl/sql procedures/functions will change
    example :
    in 9i, select salary,count(*) from emp group by salary, it will display the rows sorted by salary
    in 11gi, select salary,count(*) from emp group by salary, it will display the rows not sorted by default, we have to add the clause order by salary.
    somebody could give the list of other difference in behavior (SQL and PL/SQL) agter migrating from 9i to 11g
    Thanks a lot.

    Tell your developers: garbage in - garbage out. In relational databases only ORDER BY ensures row order. If your developers relied on GROUP BY implemented by SORT and therefore returning ordered rows they had to realize code they wrote is Oracle release dependent and sooner or later code would require changes. And that "sooner or later" is now reality. In newer versions ORACLE can do GROUP BY via SORT or via HASH. And if it is done via HASH - don't expect ordered results. So tell your developers "payback time".

  • Selecting and Printing Labels from Database

    I have tried to print address labels from a database in which I chose four lines, one of which (a company name) is often blank because there is no information. This line appears as a blank line on the label. Is there a way to eliminate this blank line?
    I am also having trouble selecting records to print. Can you suggest where to look to get help?
    Thank you.

    Hello
    Here is a script I passed last year about this kind of problem.
    I hope that embedded comments would be sufficient because at this time, I am unable to work on such a script.
    --[SCRIPT DB calcToSlideGUI v6]
    • This script grab the value calculated in a field
    and drop it in a simple text field.
    This permit to take benefit of the auto wrap feature
    which is unavailable with calculated fields.
    If a field contains adjacent pseudo returns,
    they are replaced by single ones.
    If a field contains adjacent pseudo spaces,
    they are replaced by a single space.
    The Find-Replace feature is used to replace
    these pseudo returns by TRUE ones.
    Sample formula for concat-calc:
    'firstName'&"◊"&'firstName2'&"◊"&'lastName'&"¶"&'street1'&"¶"&'street2'&"¶"&'co de'&" "&'city'

  • Want to Change the Column Indetn Color of Measure Label in a Pivot View

    Hello,
    I have used the measure labels in the "ROWS" of a pivot table and there is a column header or indent on the top these measure label which is BLUE by default .My requirement is to change that to a different color and if possible put some text there.
    (to be simple i see a .PTindent cell ,on the top of measure label which i want to edit from dashboard or reporting end without making any changes to the CSS entry files,becuase this entry can cause effect to all the table already in the environment)
    Thanks

    Let's try this step by step:
    1) In your report add a Static Text view.
    2) Add the formula I described:
    <style>.PTIndentCell {background-color: #000000;}</style> 3) Check the "Contains HTML Markup" checkbox.
    View the Compound Layout or in the Dashboard (viewing the Pivot Table will NOT show the change.)
    If you can't see anything than the next thing to check is if you can view HTML. Go to a CHAR column and click on the Data Format tab. What choices do you see if you attempt to override the format? If you see HTML, then okay. If you don't, but only see "Plain Text," than HTML is not enabled. The default for OBIEE is to not allow HTML. You will need to change your instanceconfig.xml file and set the HardenXSS to false. See the link below:

  • Reading Field Labels from Lookup Table

    Post Author: Ohmylord
    CA Forum: Formula
    I'm trying to read the field labels from the database so I can have one set of reports and have them work in multiple languages by changing the display value. I created a lookup table that has these fields and values: ID    EnglishValue   DisplayValue1    Customer   Cliente2   CustomerNumber    Numero del Clienteetc.   I then created a formula field for each label (@Customer Label, @CustomerNumber Label).  The formula just contains the DisplayValue field.  Then I used Select Records and added a Where ID=1 or ID=2.  The problem is that whatever the last value I put in for the ID applies to each of the different formulas I created.  In other words, it reads the labels from the database, but they are all the same. It seems like it should be pretty easy but I'm obviously missing something. Most reports probably have 15 or so labels on them. Thanks for any help!

    Here's some sample data from the table I created.
       Translation
       Autonumber
       ID
       EnglishLabel
       DisplayValue
      1
      1
      Customer
      Cliente
      2
      2
      Customer Number
      Codice Cliente
      3
      3
      Quote Date
      Data Quota
      4
      4
      Expiration Date
      Data Scadenza
    What I want on the report is 4 fields each one would show a different value. The simplified select statement I'm trying to get for the different fields is something like:Field 1 - Select DisplayValue where ID=1Field 2 - Select DisplayValue where ID=2etc for the other 2 fields.   When a different user has a different language we would just populate the DisplayValue with different data.

  • How do you use labels from HANA as universe field descriptions?

    Is there a way to automatically use the labels from a HANA view as either the field names or descriptions in the BO Universe? For example, my view has field VBELN and the label "Billing Document". In IDT I only see VBELN come through as the field name. I have hundreds of fields so don't want to go through and manually type in the description on each one. How can I get the labels defined in HANA to come through to BO?
    Thank you!
    AZ

    @HI Jacqueline Rahn - I have a similar requirement, currently i have populated ECC tables in the SQL. And in the universe I have incorporated those tables, for some reason the fields  are not displaying the descriptions.
    Ex: MATNR should display as Material
    You indicated above its possible in IDT 4.1, just curious can you please let me know where do I see that option to switch on the descriptions..
    Appreciate your reply...
    Thanks,
    Vinay

  • Query Build - witch cube does measures comes from?

    Hello!
    It is not possible to see witch cube a measure comes from in the Query Build. I have several measures with the same name but from different Cubes / Analytic Workspaces.
    If I change the Label, then the measure will have that name in the report – this I do not want.
    How do I see witch cube a measure comes from?
