Effect rendered but not in film....

When I have rendered an affect (for instance Gaussian blur) I see iMovie '06 made a render and even changes the name of the file but it is not in the film when I view that. Am I doing something wrong? (This happens on a PowerBook G4 1,67 Ghz with 1,5 Gb RAM). And if I do a rerun with the same render iMovie crashes.....

Hi Joost,
Thjank you for your feedback. I have submitted a bug-report as you suggested. I will find another workaround for now, probably doing most needed colour work in After Effects directly for now.
Thank you

  • Inputtext rendered but not editable

    What is the property that makes a field to be rendered in a JSF but not editable. It only appears as an image where you can not click.
    My fild has rendered by default (true), and Disabled by default (false).
    The JSF is not autbinded to any JavaBean then I don't know why it can appear as erndered but disabled.
    This happens when I create a new record. Some fields apper like this and others appear normal and can be edited.
    Any suggestion ?

    I annex the piece of jspx that generates the problem.
    All this objects are inside a panel box. If I remove the inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" in the panel box and leave it with the standar height, all fileds in the first two columns are not editable in firefox. In ie sometimes are editable, others are not (random) but this always happen only when I create a new record. The fields in the third column (the last one) are always editable.
    If I leave the inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" then all fileds are correctly editable in both browsers.
    The problem is that inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" generates a very high pael box and is not beautiful. My users will complain about this.
    It seems as the botton part of the panel box geneerates a kind of shadown inside it that makes all the items in this shadow not to be editable.
    The fileds in the botton part of the panel box can be made editable while the ones in the upper side are not if you make the panel box high enough for this "shadow" to affect only the booton fields.
    Horrible ! Perhaps a kind of bug ?

  • Effects applying but not rendering

    Hello fellow editors,
    I recently starting having trouble with effects in FCP 6.0.3. I'm applying them to clips, they're appearing in the "filters" tab where I can tweak the parameters - but nothing actually happens to the video. For example, applying a brightness/contrast filter and tweaking it does absolutely nothing to the brightness and contrast in the viewfinder, even when I render it or export the video.
    This has never happened to me before...I greatly appreciate your helping me fix this problem.
    miriam

    Check Studio's suggestion first, but also confirm for us exactly how you're applying the effects.
    If you've used them before, you're probably doing it correctly, but if not done correctly, you'll not see the results, as you're experiencing.

  • Actions in PSE10 Effects Folder, but not in Pallet.  Rebuilt database file didn't work.

    My PC installed updates last night & this a.m. all of my PSE 10 actions aren't in the effects pallet. I've rebuilt the database three times and it's not fixing it. The actions are in the photo creations folder. Ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Have Effective Permissions but not showing in Advanced Security in AD UC

    I'm trying to find out where a user account is getting permissions to our Active Directory Users & Computers.  On the entire domain it has the ability to modify all properties, modify permissions, change owner, and a bunch of stuff that it
    shouldn't.  I found this out when testing and verified it with using "effective permissions".  The weird thing is, when looking at Advanced security, neither the user nor the security group it is in are explicitly given permissions anywhere
    in ADUC.  My question is:  where could it be getting these rights?  How do I find it if it's not in the Advanced Security Settings area of ADUC?
    I know the problem is the security group and not the user account.  After I removed the user account from its security group, it no longer had the extra permissions it shouldn't have.
    TestUserA is a member of SecurityGroupA:  TestUserA has rights to all of our AD domain  (unexpected, not sure where the rights are coming from)
    TestUserA removed from SecurityGroupA:  TestUserA only has basic "read" rights to our AD domain (the desired level of permissions)
    Any help or suggestions of where to find SecurityGroupA's permissions are coming from would be helpful.  Thank you!

    Any ideas?  I would really like to know the answer to this question because there is no way for me to audit these permissions or know which other groups may be getting more permissions than expected.
    I know for sure the user is getting permissions from SecurityGroupA.  I can clearly see using Effective Permissions that TestUserA gets added permissions in AD when I add them to this group, and the permissions get removed when no longer a member of
    this group.  It's odd to me that this group isn't explicitly listed anywhere
    in AD Security, and it isn't a member of any other groups.  Where in the world are the permissions coming from?  Viewing the Advanced Security through the mmc and running DCACLS are both useless.  The permissions are completely invisible
    to us unless we run Effective Permissions specifically against the user.
    We are likely going to explicitly deny the group permissions since we cannot figure out how or why this group is getting permissions to AD.  This is just a quick-fix, as there still might be other security holes in our environment.

  • HT3819 I can home share photos between iPad, itouch and iPhone but not videos filmed on any device, can anyone help please?

    How do I share a video taken on iPhone or itouch with the iPad? Pictures work via photo stream but videos don't?.

    The videos don't share because they are just too big. Most videos are dozens to hundreds of megs and don't transfer well, so they don't transfer at all.
    You'd have to maually do it, either via the syncing computer or using a service like Dropbox, where you upload then download them. (personally I'd stick to local, uploading and downloading hundreds of megs will take time)

  • "Media Pending" in Premiere CS5 (But not After Effects)

    Hi All
    I've seen links referring to this problem for CS4 but the solution did not seem to resolve the CS5 issue.
    I can playback an MPEG file in After Effects CS5 but not in Premiere. Trying to export to a Premiere project made the system to hang and required a re-boot when opening in Premiere.
    The video was renamed from a JVC .TOD file to a .MPEG file and plays back fine in Windows Media player, without any other files associated with it.
    Strange that other apps play it fine and premiere not. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    As a matter of interest, in case anyone else gets the same issue...
    Having opened the file in After Effects, re-booted and re-started Premiere, the file now plays back in Premiere. Even though I'd restarted Premiere several times, it appears that only after starting and opening the file in AE did the codec somehow get "registered" in Premiere...
    Anyway, problem solved....

  • ScriptUI panel renders in ESTK but not in AE

    Hi There,
    I just finished watching David Torno's excellent tutorials on developing ScriptUI panels with Extendscript.  I followed all of his directions, and the panel does show up as expected in my ESTK, but when I save the .jsx to the ScriptUI folder within the Script directory of AE, the panel shows up, but none of the elements I created render within the panel. It's very odd, might anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Here is my code, which is a derivative of David's example code building ScriptUI panels with resource strings:
        function templaterGUI(thisObj){
            function templater_buildGUI(thisObj){
                var templaterWindow = (thisObj instanceof Panel) ? thisObj : new Window('palette', 'Templater', undefined, {resizeable : true});
                gui = "Group{orientation: 'column', alignChildren: 'fill',\
                             settings: Group{orientation: 'row', alignChildren: 'fill',\
                                            pAssets: Panel{text: 'Assets'},\
                                            pOptions: Panel{text: 'Render Options'},\
                             action: Button{text: 'Render Batch'},\
                             console: Panel{text: 'Status',\
                                            msg: StaticText{text: 'Currently Idle'}},\
                templaterWindow.grp = templaterWindow.add(gui);
                return templaterWindow;
            var templaterDock = templater_buildGUI(thisObj);
            if ((templaterDock != null) && (templaterDock instanceof Window)){
                    templaterDock.center();
                    templaterDock.show();
         templaterGUI(this);
    Here's what it looks like when I run this code in ESTK:
    I placed the script in the `ScriptUI` folder within the AE CS6 application folder, and here's what it looks like when I invoke the exact same .jsx file from `Window` menu in AE:
    Maybe I overlooked something in the code that David provided in his tutorial?  Can anybody offer any suggestions for debugging / troubleshooting?
    Thanks for your time and help!

    Hey David or Xavier,
    Thanks for providing guidance on setting up the layout manager for I'm running into a similar issue with ESTK behaving differently than AE when it comes to rendering my UI controls.  I'm specifically referring to a DropDownList element.  In ESTK my code seems to be working fine, where I am able to see the selection elements in the DropDownList control.  I can see the `items` Array appear as the list.  However, in AE, I see the DropDownList control mechanism, but I no matter what, I cannot see the list of elements.  Is there a specific reason that this might be happening for this DropDownList element?
    Here is the portion of my resource string that is being used to generate the dropdown list:
    gTemplates: Group { orientation: 'row', alignChildren: ['fill','top'], alignment: ['fill','fill'],margins: [0,10,0,0],\
                                      lRenderTemplates : DropDownList { title: 'Render Template', titleLayout: {alignment: ['center','top'], spacing: 10} },\
                                      lOutputModules : DropDownList { title: 'Output Module', titleLayout : {alignment: ['center','top'], spacing: 10} },\
    Then I have a function in my javascript that just adds items like this, and I call it before I return templaterWindow as shown in my previous code:
    function setupControls(ui) {
         var options = ui.grp.settings.pOptions.optionsControls;
         options.gTemplates.lRenderTemplates.add('item', "ONE");
         options.gTemplates.lRenderTemplates.add('item', "TWO");
    Again, it works great in ESTK where I can see the elements in the dropdown, but not in the context of running it in AE.  Any ideas?
    Thanks again for any help you can provide!

  • Refresh has effect on clone but not on object itself

    Hi,
    (Using TopLink 9.0.3 with an Oracle Database)
    I see some mystifying behaviour when I insert an object, refresh it because I know the database performs some changes on the data during insert from a database trigger and then inspect the refreshed object.
    In short my code is as follows:
    UnitOfWork unitOfWork = session.acquireUnitOfWork();
    Vak vak = new Vak();
    unitOfWork.registerNewObject(vak);
    vak.setTitle("New Title");
    unitOfWork.commit();
    // the database will turn the Title to all UpperCase
    session.refreshObject(vak);
    // the following call prints out: New Title
    // !!! not in uppercase!!
    System.out.println(vak.getTitel());
    unitOfWork = session.acquireUnitOfWork();
    Vak vakClone = (Vak)unitOfWork.registerObject(vak);
    // the following call prints out: NEWTITLE
    // !!! Now it is in uppercase!!
    System.out.println(vakClone.getTitel());
    vakClone.setTitel("++"+vakClone.getTitel());
    unitOfWork.commit();
    Can someone explain this behavior? Why does the refresh have an effect on the clone of vak but not on vak itself? Is it because vak is newly created in this piece of code?
    How can I ensure that the vak object itself has the changes made in the database?
    thanks for your help,
    Lucas Jellema (AMIS)

    The problem is that registerNewObject has semantics beyond the obvious use of registering new objects.... Time for me to lobby for a name change :)
    Search this forum for "registerNewObject" and I think you'll see some rants from me on this topic. Ultimately, in your first example in your first post, if you had just done "registerObject" instead of registerNewObject, everthing would have behaved as you hoped.
    You do NOT have to use registerNewObject for new objects... registerObject is preffered.
    Send me an email, donald.smith @ oracle.com and I have a UOW primer I can send (it's being incorporated into the docs for an upcoming release), but it will help clarify this in the meantime.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC renders do not reflect changes to Dynamically Linked After Effects Comps

    When rendering a Premiere timeline with a dynamically linked After Effects composition, Adobe Media Encoder will sometimes use an older version of the linked composition (even after I have saved changes in the After Effects comp).
    For example, if I correct a spelling mistake on some text in After Effects, save the composition, and then add the sequence to the render queue in Premiere, the final output from media encoder still has the old spelling.
    If I do a straight export from Premiere instead of adding to render queue, the output is always correct. I've noticed this problem on several different Windows 8.1 systems.
    All versions of the software are up to date as of today.
    Why is this? Is it something to do with the disk cache in After Effects? Does media encoder have it's own cache that I need to clear?

    Hi, I've been having this same issue.  Here are some additional things I've noticed about it:
    Changes are reflected properly when played back on timeline in Pr CC 2014.
    Happens regardless if the dynamic link file was rendered or not, thus deleting the render files does not fix the issue.
    The issue can persist through saving, closing, and reopening both AE and Pr.
    I'm using OSX 10.9.4, so this is not just a PC issue.
    Other than manually watching for every change to be reflected in the render, there is no way to know a problem has occurred.  Needless to say this can be incredibly costly.
    Please address this quickly, it's completely unacceptable that what we render out could be a different version from what we see on the timeline.
    PS Some additional things I will be testing:
    Does the issue persist through closing all CC apps, including Media Encoder.
    Does rendering directly out of Pr, i.e. not using Media Encoder, fix the issue.

  • How to "Save for web" just the layer effect but not the content area?

    I fill the area with white, then add outter glow to the layer. Now I want to "Save for web" the outter glow effect but not the white area. I want the white area to be transparent. If I delete the white area, the layer effect goes away, if I merge the layer with another to flatten (think then I can delete the white middle while keeping the layer effect stay),  the layer effect look totally different after flatten.

    Set the fill to 0% in the layers panel (not the opacity). Then save for web as a PNG24, with transparency checked.

  • Firefox is rendering a page in quirks mode on one machine, but not on a different machine.

    I have two machines that are going to the same website. One machine renders the page correctly, the other enters quirks mode and nothing appears on the screen.
    The machine that is not working is running OS X 10.6.4. The one that is working is running 10.4.11.
    I tried deleting the preferences, and reinstalling Firefox.
    This is a brand new install of the OS and was the first time we tried access this website.

    The problem is due to a call to getVolumeInformation. It works on my desktop but not on a different machine which has different drives and partitions etc. I'm returning the file system type of the fixed drives, however on certain fixed drives it fails. At first I thought it was failing on logical drives but that does not seem to be the case.This is nonsense in terms of your original post.
    Perhaps you meant to say that some of your native methods work and others dont? And the one and only way that they don't work is because you get the link error? If yes then I already told you what the reason is.
    Conversely there is some other failure, which has nothing to do with a link error. And thus it is pointless to continue to discuss this unless you actually explain what is happening.

    It would be helpful if you were to identify the model of MBP you have.
    The noise makers on a MBP are the fan(s), the HDD and the optical drive.  Can you locate the exact position where the noise is coming from?
