Effect Stylize Add Arrowheads Simple Improvement to Dialog

In the 'Add Arrowheads' dialog a very useful improvement that must be incredibly easy to implement would be a single button to allow the user to "swap" the arrowhead specified from the Start to the End.
A better option would be to have the path start/end styles present as a visual dropdown rather than being accessed only by repeated clicking the arrows.
I frequently find that when I apply arrowheads they are at the opposite end to where I expected them to be. I can't find a 'reverse path' option so a simple button to flip which end of the path the arrowhead is applied would be useful.
Currently the user has to click as many as 28 times to perform this simple action. If I have style #14 selected for the End of the path and #0 selected for the Start and this results in the arrowhead at the wrong end to flip this style I have to click back to #0 (no text field entry or dropdown which would be WAY better) then click to #14 at the other end.

Not a complete solution. If the path has a brush applied then the brush is reversed, too.
Illustrator's arrowheads have been stuck in beta for years. I doubt they will ever be what anyone* calls "done".
*Except, of course, Adobe. They think something is "done" if they can add it as a feature on the box.

Illustrator CS6 crashes using Effect Stylize Drop Shadow. There's a work-around

Illustrator CS6 crashes when using Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow on a regular shape e.g. rectangle created by the Ractangle Tool.
I select the shape, apply the effect and it will crash giving this warning dialog: "The operation cannot complete of an unknown error: [CANT]". Then Illustrator CS6 crashes.
This is the crash report in Windows 7 32-bit:
Faulting application name: Illustrator.exe, version: 16.0.0.682, time stamp: 0x4f6e762b
Faulting module name: MMXCore.8BX_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f44e8d6

The crash happens about 90% of the time.
Possible work-around:
Since I experienced some strange behaviour of CS6 applications before, I experimented witn running Illustrator as an administrator (elevated privileges). When I do that, I can apply the effect without Illustrator CS6 crashing. Here I go again..elevated privileges (see http://forums.adobe.com/message/4432510) .
I have to admit, this is one of the many strange behaviours in CS6 applications that make their performance and reliability very unpredictable.

Because there's no need to do a "repair permissions" thing, that being a bizarre Apple concept. It would not be possible to add images in it. Use dialog boxes instead.
Create a view ... add an image UI element ..use imgSource as ~sapicons/image name or paste the image in src/mimes/components/ur comp name and give that for source.
You can create linktoaction.. and on its image property add an image for X and put that in one corner of the dialog box. and execute cancel action. when its clicked..

How can I add a simple URL to Streamwork?

Hi,
I want to add a simple URL to a StreamWork activity. I do not care whether this is in a text or a collection etc. All I would like to see is that the URL is displayed as such (i.e. blue, underlined) and a user can navigate to the URL with a simple cklick. Even in WORD you can do this and the URL is converted to an active link automatically, but I didn't find a way to do this in Streamwork.
So far, I add the URL into a text and then the user has to edit the text, mark the URL and then copy/paste it into a browser. In a lot of cases, the URL was deleted by accident or changed etc.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding here -- Rob is probably thinking of the Status Updates.
However, when you edit a Text item you will find a Hyperlink option in the tool bar at the top of the Item. So this is possible, Oliver, but you may not have seen this option.

How do I add a simple, 1D, uneditable bar code to a PDF?

I would like to add a simple 1D bar code to an existing PDF form. The bar code is used to identify me as the issuer of the PDF form and would not be edited by anyone else. If it is not possible to do in Adobe X Pro, is there a third-party software that would do the trick? Thanks.

Create a Form Field
When finish get out of Forms editing.
Place the Bar code in the field.
now go back to Forms Editing (From Tool bar)
Click on Field and hold down Control Key
Choose Make Read only or Read only.
Now see if you can password Protect the field Or Document and allow everything to be filled out except this field.
* Well I just tried to Password protect and individual cell but evidently I can't. Might be something I am not doing

I am looking to add a simple pdf - with no form content to my website and use my forms account to do so. Is that possible? I tried importing a pdf, but it needs editable content. Thank you for any help.

1. You can embed the form in your website as a widget.
Go to "Distribute" Tab -> then look out for script under "Embed Form".
2. You can also save your Formscentral form as a PDF form and then host the PDF separately and give its link in your website.

How to add a simple drop shadow to video clip

Ok, so perhaps I'm just looking in all the wrong places, or perhaps it was an oversight in the initial release of FCP X....but for the life of me, I cannot find where to add a simple drop shadow (in this case, for actual video footage. I haven't looked into shadows for text). I have keyed footage (BTW, bravo Apple on the chromakeyer in FCP X) that I need to add a drop shadow to in order for it to blend nicer with the background footage. Is this feature missing? Or am I simply not looking in the right place?

Trying to add a simple applet to a web page

Well, I was trying to add a simple applet to a web page(php nuke Home section), it didn't fin my applet, so I changed it and added it to a simple html file to make it as simple as I could get it.
This is the code in the html file:

I doesn't know the solution but same kind of problem is come with me & I found that the problem is of Path i.e. you need to set a codebase attribute . For tempory solution what i do i simply copy the .class file in to html file dir.

Effect Stylize only contains Glowing Edges in illustrator cc

I was using Illustrator CC today and had the Drop Shadow show up in the menu of Effect > Stylize. Now all I see in this menu is Glowing Edges. How did this happen and how do I get all the effects to show up again?
Edit: Never mind. I was looking under the Photoshop Effects section instead of the Illustrator Effects section. Oops; I am new to Illustrator.

Thanks Jacob. I found the answer last night. I wonder why they needed to separate the two types of effect menu's. Could they have just merged the two menu's so when you're new and tired you don't go to the wrong menu (like me). I will have to see if the two groups are different in any way later tonight after work.

KB3008923 Makes Microsoft Dynamic CRM 2013 add/change javascript in Form Dialog impossible - Fix is use CHROME or remove update.

After KB3008923 was installed on my computer we found out that in Microsoft Dynamic Crm 2013
we could not change Form Script or add Form scripts as the dialog adding/maintaining this did not work
any more. The dropdown box is empty and the function and parameters are gone.
Fix is to remove KB3008923 or use CHROME until Microsoft fixes it!

Basic Stuff!! How can I add a simple frame?

Sorry for what's a pretty basic question... I'm used to version 4.0 of Photoshop Elements and I've used this for a while and one feature I used heavily was to add a simple white frame with a drop shadow to pictures I publish on the web. It is/was really simple, I have the photo open in the editor and simply double click the frame and it automatically adds it to fit around the outside of the phot regardless of size etc.
I now have Elements 7, and I just cannot find any way to do this at all. I've searched for tutorials, and the only frame function I've found seems to want to use a fixed frame size that hides some of the picture.
It's becoming quite infuriating, what was once a simple task in PSE 4 has gotten me completely beaten in PSE 7...
Can someone please help me, it's driving me round the bend!!!

Thanks for your help, I can see the frames there, but they seem to work in a completely different way to PSE 4.
If I double click a frame, or select and click apply then they're all cropping the photo to fit the frame which is the opposite behaviour to PSE 4 which fitted the frame around whatever the phot was... Then all it seems I can do is make the pic bigger or smaller, but if it's not the same aspect ratio as the frame then I get blank bits.
And I can't figure out how to get the drop frame look I got before... for an example see here:

I'd like to add a simple password sign-in in order for users to access a non-public page on a site. I'm a litle confused about exactly how to do this and am also wondering if it's possible to have just a field for password but not username?

Effect stylize round corner won't apply

Hi there.
I created this shape in illustrator: 2015-01-26_1416 - losse2010's library using the pen tool. I then used the effect > stylize > round corners to give the round corners as you can see. However, the corner on the top right didn't round. I'm not sure why but it's the only line created with the pen tool that actually has an arc and not a straight line. Here's a quick video on a similar shape that shows the corner not being rounded: 2015-01-26_1418 - losse2010's library if you notice... that corner doesn't get rounded.

A zoom shows little, only moving shows the number of coinciding Anchor Points; or you can look at the Document Info palette with Objects selected and see whether the number is right.
Smart Guides are your friends, but anchor actually means at least one Anchor Point.
I still believe it is worth trying the silly move test.
I am a bit uncertain what is actually going on in the video.

By dragging and dropping the component in author mode does what I am intending to do but when i do a programtical include e.g.

<cq:include path="mycomponent_1" resourceType="cx/components/mycomponent" />
The design dialog values for these 2 components are seperated.

So its not something you have to do programatically but its component design. Every time when you author any component (using "dialog") via drag and drop the component on page (creating instance at page level) or directly including component using code (template level) it associates information to individual page but when you author component using design_dialog it associates information at template level and share to all pages.
To achieve common sharing at all pages (template level) you have to add design_dialog (similar to dialog you can design) node at your component and then you can author it via going to page design mode (from sidekick at the bottom bar).
