Effects affecting font clarity

When I use a effect for any object on a page [shadow ect.] all text on that page lose some of their clarity. This problem remains with the document even after exporting to PDF. Any suggestions?

Here are screen shots as they are rasterized (bec they are JPEG) the difference isn't as sharp.

I am suppose to change the document type for Write Up depreciation for Asset form AO78 &
Transaction Type 711 from AA to SA previously it was to AA and posting was not
hitting GL A/C. I want to change it to SA if I change it to SA then will it affect my monetary data of Asset ?
Where it will affect and how it will take effect ?

First you need to check why having your document type AA for TTY 711 is not updating your GL. It should update your GL unless you have limited the TTY 711 to some notional depreciation area. FA module has given default document types for use .. so why do u need to use document types of GL in FA. If at all required (which i dont think is in your case) than you can create a custom document - copy std SAP FA document type and rename it to "Zx".
So look at the TTy config and your document type config to find out why it is not posting to GL.

After Effects CS6 - Font Dictionary Cant Be Read

When I try and open CS6 I get a box that reads

I have tried restarting, uninstalling doing what it says on above and deleteing the adobefnt files and still can't get it to work
If anyone knows any fix to this it would be great.

As Todd said, 99% odf the time such errors are casued by "bad" fonts (freeware fonts, legacy fonts). Remove them and see if it makes a difference.

Will the sharpen effect affect 32-bit colors?

It seems the Sharpen effect in Premiere Pro CC is not 32-bit, however based on this http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1012268 , it should not affect the colors. Can we get a confirmation that indeed applying this effect on a 4:2:2 10bit ProRes project will not crush the bit-depth of the colors?

The theory is sound, but we'd probably have to get an Adobe engineer to chime in to know for certain, and that's a pretty rare occurrence.

After effect changes font on my computer

Hi,
I'm fairly new to after effects, I work with a team with different computers. We're making a kinetic typography but somehow on my computer the font completly changes. They change positions but the coords are still the same, all the letters are suppose to be capitalized but they aren't in my after effects. The file is exactly the same. On every other computers it works except mine.
I'm using the new macbook pro retina 15" with mountain lion and have creative cloud with AE CS6

I've been in contact with adobe help for 3 hours but they couldn't help me any further, and I'm at an loss. Anybody any ideas?

I figured it out, the font i downloaded from dafont was a different one from the ones my team used. Same name so no error. I got the ttf file from the computer of which did render it properly, and now it does work properly. Font size, scale, position, spacing everything was the exactly the same.

I have found a workaround, the problem may be in the freetype version, I have downloaded freetype2 from a 0.7 archlinux repo:

Instead of installing, you can uncompress the package an copy the file libfreetype.so.6.3.6 to /opt/openoffice/program/libfreetype.so.6
This will make oo use that library instead of the systems one

Adobe After Effects CC Font dictionary error then crashes.. HELP

I have recently installed adobe after effects CC and I cannot use it.
I have a windows 7 pro 64 bit system.
I get the following errors and have tried un- installing re-installing and deleting adobefnt files
nothing seems to work at this stage. Anyone know how to fix this problem for good?

How can I effectively enlarge font size in Firefox?

My laptop resolution is 1900x1200 so the default font size is very small.
I tried to increase the font size through Preferences>Content>Default font BUT it doesn't work well with a lot of sites.
It corrupts the layouts so I had to change it back to default.
Then, I used Ctrl+- for zoom feature but that ruins the quality of images in website, and once you restart the zoom is gone.
So, is there anyway around this?

You can increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 steps to see what works best.
In Firefox 3.6 and later this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements more precisely.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Effects on fonts

Hi, I am using an outline font, I used wow chrome and wow neon on it a,d then filled it with another color. I want to overlap the letters but when I do they fade and almost turn white where they are overlapping. What can I do to eliminate this problem?

One way is to put your text on separate layers and then apply the same
layer style to each letter and then overlap the letters.
If you don't want the outlines where the letters overlap, copy and simplify
those layers and use the eraser tool to remove the outlines where the text
overlaps.

How Can I import Fonts and Effects?

Hi. My partner and I both have Macs and both have FCP. I have FCP 6 while my partner has FCP5. However she appears to have more fonts and effects than I do. This means that when she does an edit that I then open in 6 I can't 'read' her effects or fonts. Is there a way to copy her fonts and effects onto my FCP6? Thanks. Ric

Fonts...yes. Have her look in her FONTS FOLDER and give you what you don't have.
EFFECTS? Well, she can tell you what she has, and if they are free, you can get them for free (Too Much Too Soon, Eureka, a few Sheffield Softworks, CGM...). If they are ones that cost money, then you either need to buy them, or she needs to stop using them if you are going to continue to collaborate.

Suitcase Fusion trial? CS4- lost 1/2 of my fonts via ....HELP

If ANYONE can please help me ... today I downloaded a trial version of Suitcase Fusion 3 to see what is was like. I also uninstalled it today.
NOW, all of my Adobe programs are missing (not pulling up) my enitre fonts list ie: basics like Myriad Pro are missing from the drop down menu among many others, and previous design documents are opening with errors saying:
"fonts or characters are not available or in a different format than originally specicifed". Then, when I DO open that document, I cannot even correctly place the original fonts—they are not available.
My Fonts do show in my Library (iMac OSX 10.5)
Is there any way to restore my fonts? It seems like they are not "talking" to my software programs (all of my software ...including Microsoft word /excel etc)

Hi Chemol,
Sorry to hear that you're having issues. Good news is that it's very unlikely that your font files have been affected by Suitcase Fusion.
As pointed out by other posters, it's possible that you have some corrupt font cache files on your system. Suitcase Fusion 3 has the ability to clean out these files, but if you don't want to reinstall it, you can try out Font Nuke to clear the same files.

Phtoshop CC 2014 / Incease font size of GUI?

It looks like, that the font size is smaller in Photoshop CC 2014 than it was in Photoshop CC.
I've a DELL U2713H with 2560x1400 pixel.
But even if I wear my glassed (that was not required by using the previous Photoshop version) the font size is a little bit to small and not easy to read.
I tried the experimenter feature to increase ALL GUI elements by 200%, but the outcome is funny but not useful ;-) in my case
So I wonder, if there is any chance to increase the font size of the GUI so it's readable again.

There are two separate font sizes:
1. The menus
2. Pretty much everything else
The menu font size is now the same as what you'd have seen with Windows set to 100% desktop scaling before. The only setting that effects the font size now is the one in the Preferences - Experimental Features panel (as you've seen), and it can only be 100% or 200%.
The rest of the fonts in Photoshop can be affected by the Preferences - Interface panel, UI Font Size setting. The range isn't very big, and you have to close and restart Photoshop to see the change.

[SOLVED]A nice sharp font renderer (not as sharp as windows)

Is there another font renderer out there? I tried freetype the default and that gives me blurry edges. Infinality is not better in my opinion. Same blurry edges too many configurations. Are there any other renderers out there?

I tried every conf.d symlink in the /etc/fonts/infinality/styles.conf.avail folder. I just can't get the fonts to be sharp with nice uniform smoothness. They look garbled.
I just tried the ubuntu freetype and it looks worse.

Why Fonts? Real explanations only, please.

Can someone explain why fonts are still such an issue, even in OSX? I can understand in older versions of the Mac OS all the way back to OS7, but how can font files manage to diasble a modern OS? Why doesn't a bad font just effect the font and how does it affect start-up?
I have wondered this all the way back to my OS 8.5 days but now when our modern marvel, crash-proof OSX shows the very same weakness I must as why?

Fonts are still bolder in Mac version only

I've searched like crazy online, found this happening for some throughout many different versions, but still find no solution.
On the latest version (v23) and a few previous now, we're seeing fonts which are more bold than on any other browser. This includes text and our font icons.
Strangely, and beyond us, we have one guy here on the same FF and OSX versions who does not have this problem. We can't figure out why.
FF on Win does not have this problem.

The hardware acceleration feature can affect font weight. If you toggle it off, does that have any effect?
Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You generally need to restart Firefox for this change to take effect.
