Effects lock up in Edit mode

Hello,
I'm sifting my way through Audition 3. When I put an Audio Clip in the Edit mode of Audition and then add an Effect I get the following:
1. The Effect will be added and it will properly Preview. I will STOP the Preview (I have waited as long as 5 seconds after stopping) - and then click on "OK" to add (render) the effect. Audition will immediately lock up. NOTHING will be available. I then have to open the Task Manager and close Audition.
2. If I re-open Audition it will work again. The Effect will not have rendered though.
3. Also, if I Preview the effect and then "Cancel" (as opposed to "OK") Audition will continue to function. So, the problem seems to when the Effect is to be rendered.
4. I tried all four of the computers available in the facility and they all did the same thing. So, I doubt it is anything specific to the computer used.

The OS is XP service pack 3. Computers are Pentium 4 about 2.4 gig with 2 gig of RAM.
The clips is very small. About 5-10 seconds of a single wav. file. It is the only clip I have imported, so otherwise the bin is empty save for this one small clip. Nothing is in the Multitrack Timeline. Certainly not a taxed system - under the circumstances.
No, this is not on a network. I have yet to check the temporary files location, but it likely is wherever Audition defaults it to.
I doubt the temp file is running out of space, the drive is less than half full and the install of Audition is new. It occurs in a fesh session with only one clip imported.
These are stand alone computers not on the network. Note, I also have this problem on my laptop (that would have the problem on 5 computers now).
It seems like maybe I am doing something wrong??? - I will Import a file (from the Audition "Classroom in a book" CD) in the Multi Track view. Note, the file is place on the harddrive, not sources from the slower CD. I then double click on it (in the bin) to open in the Edit view. I will double click on the Effect (Echo for instance) to add it. I will Preview the Effect and it plays promptly and properly. I will stop the Previewing of the Effect, - or let it play all the way through. I have waited at least 5 seconds after the Preview stops. - - - I then click on "OK" to render the Effect and Audition locks up every time with every effect I have tried.
I just did some more testing. If I don't Preview (play the clip with the Echo) and just click on "OK" to render the clip, it does not seem to lock up. It renders correctly in seconds. So, what is it about the Previewing of the Effect that causes the lock up??? It is not locking up on the Preview, but only on render after I Preview. I can't imagine it is still processing the Preview if I play it to the end before clicking "OK" to render.

The problem does not appear, if PH Elements 13 is executed in the administrator mode.
The available computer resources are rather large enough: CPU INTEL i7 4 cores, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 32GB SSD, Windows 8.1.
Please, advice how to solve this problem? Maybe, there is patch or updating available?

Thank you for the quick answer. In the meantime I found other way to pass by the problem. I increased the cache level up to the maximum value 8.
The errors reported as "No more virtual tiles can be allocated" vanish, but I still do not understand, why PSE 13 cannot work properly by the lower cache levels, having available maximum resources it needed (10443 MB RAM and 26.53GB SSD space for scratches), or cannot collaborate with the fast SSDs properly.

Issues with locking up in edit mode

Does anyone have a solution when the ap locks up in the edit mode? No icons for edit appear and I cannot escape the mode. I have to delete and download again which deletes all of the data... Not good

We should not lock up at all...and we are not aware of this. If you could share the detailed steps, and perhaps the document that this is happening with, that would be appreciated.
Also, if you do experience a lock-up, you don't need to delete the application and reinstall. There are a couple different ways to force-quit any iOS application
1) Hold down the power button on the device to force it to shut down and restart
2) Force close the app using these steps
go back to the iOS home screen, showing all of the app icons
double-click the home button. A row should appear on the bottom of the screen showing all of the 'running' apps.
swipe left-right until you see the app you want to force-exit
Long-press on the app you want to force-restart. All of the icons in that bottom row should start wiggling, with a icon in the top left corner
tap the icon on the app you want to force-exit
Click the home button to close this view of the running apps again.

Lock not always released if browser closed in edit mode.

We have had a few instances in the last couple weeks (since deployment of an I.P. application) where a user has either closed the browser while in edit mode, or received some sort of error when saving plan data and the browser closed, where the Lock in RSPLSE/SM12 was not deleted. In the last case, the lock stayed for 6 hours before we were notified to manually delete the lock. The user had closed all windows, even restarted her machine.
Any insight on how to enforce removal of locks if browser is closed? We are on SAPKW70017 and BI Java Support Package Patch SP015

this is a frequently discussed topic. Usually the lock should be released, the session should be closed etc at the time closing a window.
One idea for this one: Does a small popup window appear when you close your browser? If the users have activated the popup blocker this will cause problems because the locks and sessions can not be released. Also it might cause problems using other browsers than IE...

Back when Audition was Cool Edit Pro, they had an option while adding effects while in Edit Mode that would let you highlight a section of the waveform, add an effect say like an echo, then would allow to process that effect to the end of view. That was a beautiful thing.... Since Adobe took over, that has been missing. I can't believe I was the only one out there that used this option. It was a HUGE time saver!!! Say like I want to add an echo to only one word. I could highlight that word, add the echo, then have the word echo past the highlighted area until it faded completely, or reached the end of the view. Now, I have to highlight that word, cut and paste it into a new track, then go back into edit mode, extend silence to the end of the file, add the echo effect, go back to multitrack mode and then mixdown the 2 files. This is rediculous and time consuming. Am I missing that option somewhere or does it not exist?? Or maybe someone out there has a better way to do it???

Custom publishing page layouts have undesirable overlapping effect in edit mode

I am very new to SharePoint branding.
I've created several custom page layouts using SPD. They are used in publishing site collections with basic web part zones in various <div>'s for layout purposes. The issue I've run into is that while in display mode the pages work fine,
but in edit mode there is an undesirable overlap that causes the web part editing panel to become obscured or unusable.
I have ran across a few search hits that seem to dance around this topic, but nothing I've found thus far has truly addressed my issue. Am I editing the CSS, master page, page layout or something else to ensure the edit mode is functional?

I have solved my own problem, but felt it might be necessary to document it here for those just starting out. For a page layout to display properly, at least for me, I had to invoke the corev15.css classes in my <div> tags to convert to table
elements when switching to Edit mode. While this is ultimately not my first choice, I was able to add some custom styles in this CSS file to style my div's in a more suitable fashion.
On a publishing page, you may have code inside your <asp:Content> tag like:

Text Caption appears in Edit Mode but not in Preview Project or Web Browser

I'm using Cp4 and have downloaded Adobe Flash 10 Active X, it's ver 10.1.82.76. I've added a simple text caption with these options:
Timing Display: Rest of slide
Appear after: 2.0 seconds
Transition effect: Fade in only
In: .5 seconds
And Visible is checked
I also have a simple line that I drew with the draw line tool and included an arrow on the end of it.
Everything on the screen works including the click box, the animated text and the failure caption. For some reason the text caption and the arrow are not appearing except in Edit Mode. In Preview Project, they disapper but the click box, failure caption and animated text work fine.
I've rebooted, copied this screen into a new instance of Cp4, re-created these objects on a freshly recorded screen, chosen Order: Bring to Front, created a brand new screen completely from scratch and downloaded the Flash 10 Active X version mentioned above.
They funny thing is, is that the text caption and arrow works fine on other screens in the project. I have 76 screens total.
I'm running Windows XP.
Any suggestions?

Can you post a screen capture of what your Timeline looks like?
Odds are your Click Box is pausing in a weird place.

Issue with opening the Outline in Edit mode

Hello Gurus,
I am opening a huge outline in the Edit mode on EAS Console & it's giving me an error "not enough memory to perform this operation", while I am able to open the other small outlines on EAS Console/Same server in the edit mode.
Is this to do with freeing up Java memory. Will restart of EAS service work in this issue & free up Java memory?

Hi RishiI've had problems with opening up the outline in edit mode before. Haven't come across this error no, and I can't find anything on the knowledge base. Try this though...- Check at the Analytic server level for Locks and Locked Objects. If there are any get rid.- "Update Mode" in the Spreadsheet Add-In will cause similar problems by locking data blocks.- All else fails! Reboot serverIf it's something else drop me a line back. How to get the view in editable mode with OCA button.

I am new to CRM WEB UI ,I have got the requirement to develope a view with OCA button on it and when i click on the button it should direct to the second view and it should open with edit mode.
The Source view is table type and target view is form type.

in CRM a context can consist of model nodes, value nodes and, unfortunately, mixed nodes. While mixed nodes implement the same interface as model nodes they can't be casted into a CL_CRM_BOL_ENTITY directly. Instead you need to perform the following conversion in order to get the model node from the mixed node:
DATA: mixed_node     TYPE REF TO cl_bsp_wd_mixed_node,
           entity              TYPE REF TO cl_crm_bol_entity.
mixed_node = me->typed_context->EMAINLEG->collection_wrapper->get_first( ).

Problem with Opening Outline in edit mode in Essbase

I am trying to open an outline in edit mode in EAS console, but I am getting the followong error
"There is a problem with locking the outline object ,error # 1,051,675"

Can you view the outline, if yes try the steps in Error Opening Database Outline in Edit Mode : "There is a problem with locking the outline object, error # 1,051,675" [ID 1491030.1]
I've seen this error (not sure about the number) where EAS cannot allocate more memory (for loading the outline). I'll try stopping apps and start this one and see if it fixes the issue.

Hi Gary - thanks so much for your help. I'd already done that, but finally stumbled across the answer for my situation. I'm new to iMac and this is the first time I used Keynote, so maybe this info will help someone else along the way - I still haven't found this in any of the Keynote documentation or forums I've read.
My slides were all set up with at least one text box in which the text was animated. The sound was the last thing I added to each slide, exactly following the info in Keynote Help re: adding audio. The audio would work when I tested it in Inspector mode, and also if I switched to soundtrack instead. But not if sound was added to each individual slide. Hmmm. After I submitted the question above, I was running through the (auto) slide show one final time to check text, animation, etc. when I noticed that on just one single slide the sound effect came through, but at the very tail end of the slide. Hmm again. Why?
Through trial & error, the answer was in the animation section - not very intuitive re: audio. The steps to correct the issue were: 1) click on the sound icon embedded in each slide, 2) click on the animation tab in Inspector. 3) There's a drop-down menu there that allows you to reposition the audio clip to the #1 spot (if it was added after other "animation"). This allows the sound to begin before the text animation begins on each slide. Before doing this, I guess the sound was in there but the slides were transitioning before it had a chance to play.
Since this is the first time I've used Keynote and it's the most recent version, I'm not sure if this is a new feature to allow users to choose where within a slide to play a sound effect, but I'm guessing that might be why was unable to find any info on how to solve it. Hopefully this will help others who get stumped.

Hide includes in edit mode

I have some code needed in my template that should not be
seen within Contribute in edit mode (i.e
<noscript></noscript> etc). Up to now the trick was to
put said code in include files so that Contribute would not show
them, but recently for some reason I ignore Contribute has started
showing the content from my include files when in edit mode and
some of the code that should be hidden shows up. Even though this
code is locked and not editable in Contribute some of it (div's) do
en up showing over other elements and makes it very hard to edit
regular content in Contribute.
Anyone ever had that problem, or know of some way to make
sure that includes are not seen in edit mode?

I'm having the same issue.
Whenever I create a new page in contribute from a Dreamweaver template it converts any php includes and places the content into the page rather than leaving it as a php include.
This does not happen if I use Dreamweaver and the same template file, it actually works how you would expect and leaves the code alone.
Why is Contribute doing this and how can we stop it?
Can someone from Adobe please answer this as no one seems to have got an answer.

Webpage in Edit Mode displays NO editable data!

I used Dreamweaver MX to develop our company's Intranet. Our
HR Director makes changes to the Job Postings page on her own using
Contribute 2. Since the original creation of our Intranet, I've
updated to Macromedia Studio 8. A couple weeks ago she was on
vacation so I updated the Job Postings page for her using
Dreamweaver and it worked fine.
Now, however, when she navigates to the Job Postings page in
Contribute 2, it displays as expected. BUT, when you go into Edit
mode, the page only displays the locked-by-template features and
the editable regions/data don't exist. It's as if the editable area
is empty.
As a test, I pulled the page from the Intranet in DW8 and it
appears just fine. I did a HTML validation on it and it seems fine.
I then configured Contribute 3 on my computer (I don't use it -- it
just came with the Studio) and, just as with using Contribute 2, it
displays fine but in Edit mode it is blank -- no data is shown to
edit.
Some more details: In Contribute 2 in Edit mode, the editable
region where the job posting data should be, it shows a </td>
in bold highlited in yellow. And, nothing else shows. In Contribute
3 in Edit mode, ther editable region is totally blank/empty.
I have no idea what happened. Any ideas? I did download the
latest v2 updater for her machine ... fyi.

-- but not sure if it will work (I think it has a character max
limit). Yes, I also thought that when Contribute 2 shows the
</td> in bold highlite it would mean an exrtra closing tag.
However, it doesn't show up in DW or Contribute 3. Regardless, the
page in Edit Mode in Contribute 2 (or v3) doesn't show the editable
region so that I can add/remove jobs for some really odd
reason.

Transaction opening in edit mode

Hi,
I have a strange issue. I have to set some values for the Notes section for a service request. For that I am creating a new relation in the DO_INIT_CONTEXT method of the view and setting the values there. Now the issue is when I open the transaction, it opens up in edit mode. While debugging, I relaised that this is coming up because of the execution of the statement to create a new relation (create_related_entity). Please provode pointers on how to resolve this or what could be the reason for this.

You have given the answer yourself. Trying to create a relationship locks the transaction and this causes the view group to be set in edit mode. Trying to default values in the DO_INIT_CONTEXT method is OK as long as the transaction is already locked(most often, a new transaction). We can use the is_locked( ) method of the entity to find if it's locked and then set the default values. You are trying to set the values irrespective of whether the transaction is in edit mode or display mode. Of course a commit after setting the values would release the lock, but, it is not good to put such code in the DO_INIT_CONEXT. You should either set values only for new docs(already locked) or find a better place/event to default the values.
