Effects on Nike+ when receiving messages

I went for a run yesterday. I started my workout and the sensor was detected when i started. A little more than half way through I noticed that it was no longer tracking any distance or pace info, but the music was still playing. It has never done this before.
Early on in my run I received a text from someone. Is is possible that the text did something to mess up the comm with the sensor?

I did what you said.  The message is still a bubble.  Do I have to receive a new message to test it?  Thanks AmishCake.

  • IPhone continuity - silent switch no effect on iPad when receiving calls

    Hi Apple,
I love continuity, especially for calls.
would be great to transfer the status of the silent switch on iphone to ipad/mac -> when iphone is on silent it also mutes ipad/mac, so when receiving calls the ipad/mac doesn't ring!
Or at least give the user to have an option in settings.
    thanks for looking into this.

  • Problems when receiving messages

When I receive a message (SMS) can I not see this on the display, neither that I have a new message nor that I have any unread ones although there is a message in the box. My wife has exactly the same problem in her Iphone. This problem has not existed earlier

    Hi,
Please also check whether the migration completed successfully.
If it still not working after performing suggestions that Jason provided, please try to move the mailbox to another database for testing. It will repair something odd automatically.

  • No 'Name' just phone number when receiving messages

Posting on this board also to see if anyone else as had this issue pop up today...
This literally just happened to me. Had the 4S since last Friday. All my contacts come through Google and they've worked perfectly until now. Now, when I get a text or a call, it only shows the number, and not the contact, even though everything in the Contacts app is current and correct.
Why o why did this just start happening!?
    I've tried 2 reboots...
It seems on some numbers it wants to put a +1 in front of it all of a sudden? It was NOT doing this previously. Just started an hour ago and it is driving me nuts I even tried deleting and re-adding my Google account. Again, all the contacts show up correctly, but the numbers aren't "linking" for some reason. Very odd. An hour ago I had a message from Tom. Now it says message or call from +1 (515) 555-5555 (diff. # obviously).
    Anyone know a fix!?
PS. After digging further and another reboot, it may only be happening with iMessage contacts?
I should not have to edit any contacts. This has been working perfectly for a week...
    Thanks!

While I unfortunately don't have a solution for you, this has been happening to some of my friends so this issue is not just happening to you.

  • HT201401 No sound when receiving message or phone call - worked previously

For 2 years my phone has worked fine but now I am not receiving any sound to notify me of phone calls or messages. I have checked all the settings and cannot determine why this has happened. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked the Mute switch on the side...

By the way... your Tag states you have iOS 6.1.4

  • Mail hangs when receiving messages

This past week, without any recent software/hardware changes or updates, Mail started hanging while new messages were coming in. I have three accounts set up-- two MobileMe which seem to not be the problem-- and one POP mail account with MSN. At first I thought the problem was a firewall issue because it happened on my laptop at work. However, when I bring the laptop (MBP) home and run it off Airport WiFi there, the problem persists, even though my home MacPro, set up the same way, works fine. Now, the only way to get out of Mail on my MBP is to force-quit. I've tried repairing permissions, replacing plists, deleting and re-creating mail accounts-- even transferring the working plist from my MacPro to my MBP. Regardless, incoming messages hang at "Incoming Message 16 of XX" with the kb/sec eventually slowing to 0.0 in the Mail Activity window. Anyone with a similar problem or luck with a fix? I'm running latest Mail and Snow Leopard versions.

I have exactly the same problem. I have two laptops, one running OS 10.6.2 and the other a G4 Powerbook running !0.5.8. On the Snow Leopard machine the iMap accounts (x4) are working fine, but hotmail mail and one Pop3 account both behave the same way - hanging indefinitely exactly half way through completion of the download of a couple of dozen emails, with download speed dropping to 0k. It has not been possible to download anything from either account now since November 6th. I have to check the mail on these two accounts via a web interface. The only solutions I have heard so far seem quite hit and miss. I am not particularly keen to do anything so radical as back up, reformat the hard drive, and re-instal the System / buy a new computer, or any of those other drastic fix-all-solutions sometims proposed when people cannot guess what is wrong. An informed work around would be very much appreciated.

  • Email address shows when receiving message

I have heard from 3 people now when I sent them a message it shows my email address, not name from contacts.  I went into my settings for messages and it says to use email address as my phone number shows error?  I cannot change them in settings either?!?

No, it's your reply to my solution.
Mine say Csound1 at top left.
But it works now, enjoy the accolade.

  • HT201401 no sounds when receiving messages emails phone clls

am receiving no sound alerts either outgoing or incoming. Any help gratefully received

Is the device on mute?  Check the switch above the volume controls on the side of the device.  If you see a red dot, it's on mute.
Otherwise, basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Why does my 3G iPhone no longer rings nor vibrates when receiving calls and text messages?

Why does my 3G iPhone no longer rings nor vibrates when receiving calls and text messages?
During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call.  So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of.  Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message.  Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.

Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

  • How can I stop iOS from opening a recently received message when I click on the messages app to compose an unrelated message to a different contact? I want to read it later, when I have time to reply, and I don't want to forget to go back to it.

iPhone messages automatically open when I don't want them to
One of my first ever flip phones had a wonderful function where you could choose a checkbox next to received messages to make them appear read or unread. This was very convenient for messages which you read, but don't have time to reply to immediately, and want to remember to come back to later.
In contrast, the latest, greatest iPhone not only does not have this rudimentary message management function, but it goes one step further in the wrong direction. If there is just one received, unread message, and you click on the messages icon, the new message will automatically be opened. It is opened irrespective of whether you have time to read it right away, irrespective of if you simply wanted to compose a new message or go back to another already read message. It just opens the new one, and then you are in a position where you have to read it and respond to it right there, or risk forgetting about it and failing to reply to it altogether. I sometimes receive a lot of messages over a period of a few hours, so it is very easy to lose track of these half-read messages in the mayhem. I have missed countless messages because of this problem. Incidentally, if there is more than one received message, then the application doesn't automatically open any of them, which is much better, because you can at least choose when you want to open one of the unread messages. But ideally, you should be able to go through your list of received messages and check or uncheck them as read or unread at any time, so that you can easily find messages that still need to be replied to, or reconsidered.
Does anybody have a solution to this problem? It strikes me as a simple data management solution that should be, but is not an option in the basic functionality of the app. Frustrating!

    Is this an IMAP account?
If so, delete the messages in Mail from all folders and quit Mail.
Go the the website and clear the messages from all folders there.
Reopen Mail and verify the messages have been deleted for all folders.

With my my I phone as I try to choose a picture from the photo gallery to send it via email using my Iphone, I can't seem to send nor receive messages anymore. It is asking for my yahoo password. What password will that be as I have forgotten it. I know what my personal password on my yahoo address when I go to a regular laptop or desktop but with Iphone I am unable to to retrieve this password because it does not give you an option to change a password. What shall I do to correct this problem?

It's the same password.  Go to settings - mail - yahoo - enter the password for your incoming and outgoing mail server.

  • Is it possible to have Thunderbird send an e-mail automatically when a message with a specific subject is received?

Is it possible to have Thunderbird send an e-mail automatically when a message with a specific subject is received?
I basically want to create a rule that will send an automatically crafted form e-mail to the sender when I receive an e-mail with the subject line "New Swimmer". Is this possible?

Thank you Todd, I was able to get it to work but I do have a few more questions...
    1) When I tested this, at the top of the message, before any of the text I created, this showed up: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
    2) After the signature line, this showed up: --------------040406040801080102080500 Content-Type: image/jpeg Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-ID: /9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQEAYABgAAD/4QAiRXhpZgAATU0AKgAAAAgAAQESAAMAAAABAAEAAAAA AAD/2wBDAAIBAQIBAQICAgICAgICAwUDAwMDAwYEBAMFBwYHBwcGBwcICQsJCAgKCAcHCg0K CgsMDAwMBwkODw0MDgsMDAz/2wBDAQICAgMDAwYDAwYMCAcIDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwM DAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAwMDAz/wAARCAC5ApUDASIAAhEBAxEB/8QA HwAAAQUBAQEBAQEAAAAAAAAAAAECAwQFBgcICQoL/8QAtRAAAgEDAwIEAwUFBAQAAAF9AQID AAQRBRIhMUEGE1FhByJxFDKBkaEII0KxwRVS0fAkM2JyggkKFhcYGRolJicoKSo0NTY3ODk6 Q0RFRkdISUpTVFVWV1hZWmNkZWZnaGlqc3R1dnd4eXqDhIWGh4iJipKTlJWWl5iZmqKjpKWm p6ipqrKztLW2t7i5usLDxMXGx8jJytLT1NXW19jZ2uHi4+Tl5ufo6erx8vP09fb3+Pn6/
(It was actually much longer than that)
Is there anyway that I can get that to go away? I obviously would prefer a nice, cleanly formatted e-mail to be sent just like I would send if I were creating it on the spot.
    Thanks,
    Evan

  • Error message when trying to receive messages

    hi
i am unable to send or receive messages.
when trying to send an email i get this message: 'An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: Cannot connect to SMTP server 213.8.196.24 (213.8.196.24:25), NB connect error 1460.'
when trying to receive messages i get this message: 'An error occurred with the POP3 mail server. Mail server mail.print-city.co.il responded: '
the problem has just started, i didnt change anything from what was before. internet connection looks ok.
i am attaching the error messages and my account settings.

I finally solved my problem by deleting both accounts and then adding them back via tools - account settings - account actions. It was actually pretty simple... all I had to know was email addresses and passwords. Trying to correct the account settings didn't work for me or for the ATT tech I contacted.
