Efi Boot Problem after several failed attempt to install Windows 8

Hello, excuse me in advance for my bad English level!
I have a Macbook Pro 17" i7 2,2 Ghz (early 2011 OSX 10.9.4) equipped with a 750 Gb Samsung SSD and a Secondary 750 Gb Toshiba HHD mounted in place of the Original Laptop's DVD optical Drive.
I've tried several times to Install Windows 8.1 into the Secondary HHD Drive (USB KEY created with a Windows 8.1 Iso Image through the Bootcamp assistent) but without success. This is the message at the end of the Windows 8.1 installation process:
Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.
I don't Know why and I Don't Know what to do... The problem seems to have no solution and I'm so frustrated!!! .
But Now I've Noticed, if the EFI Boot partition is selected during the macbook's startup process, this Error Message:
I've formatted the second HDD Hark Disk now and there should be no trace of Windows in my laptop so... why this message appears?
So I've Mounted the EFI boot Partition in OSX and that's It:
So...
1) Is There some file I Can safely delete to remove this Windows's error message?
2) Is It Normal that EFI Boot Partition appears during the Macbook Startup?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!

Hi,
Well from what I can see here you may have a hardware problem with the player. If it is not being recognised as a removable disk I would suggest if possible try it on another PC and see how it behaves. If there are no problems can you post some system details otherwise I'd either return to the dealer and they should swap it for you our contact customer support and they should be able to assist.
In answer to your question holding down the play pause button while inserting the device into the port starts it in recovery mode and you should a be able to recover from there but as the unit is behaving so badly I'd gof for my former diagnosis.
Hope this helps,
John

I changed my pass code and couldn't remember the new pass code. After several failed attempts, my iPhone has been disabled. What do I do?

If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • TS3230 Why aren't Google and Yahoo loading in Safari with Maverics?  After several failed attempts, a "wireless diagnostics" zipped folder appeared on my desktop.  I'm using a macbook pro with OSX 10.9.2

I updated to Maverics and now yahoo and google do not load in Safari - i get a "connot connect to server" warning.  other websites load just fine.
Also, after several attempts to access the aforementioned sites, a zipped file/folder appeared on my desktop titled "WirelessDiagnostics"
What in the world is going on here?  I attached a screenshot of the zip file.

Double-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

    Launch the Network Utility application.
    Step 1
Select the Lookup tab and paste into the address field (command-V). Press return. Post the output that appears below – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Step 2
Select the Ping tab and do the same. Please enter the same input as you did in Step 1. Don't use the output of Step 1 as input to Step 2.

  • Use an alternative e-mail address after repeated failed attempts to send.

My company uses a small e-mail server company that offers a lot of benefits, but occasionally goes down for a day or two. I would like to find a way to automatically use another e-mail address after several failed attempts to use this server.
Thus, if everything is working right, my e-mail will use the regular server. However, if the original server is down, when my e-mail fails to send repeatedly using that server, I would like it to default to another server. Is there a way to configure this?
    Thank you.

No, you can’t. .Mac’s SMTP server simply doesn’t allow sending from a non-.Mac address.
Doesn’t your ISP include some POP or IMAP mail accounts with access to an SMTP server as part of the service? Such an SMTP server might be less restrictive.
A Gmail account would allow you to use Gmail’s SMTP server. Instructions for setting up a Gmail account are provided here:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13275
After setting up the Gmail account in Mail and checking that it works, you can use Gmail's SMTP server to send from your other mail accounts as well:
    1. Log into your Gmail account on the web.
    2. Go to Settings > Accounts.
    3. Enable the addresses you want to be able to send from, and let Gmail validate them by verifying that you do indeed own them.
    4. For each mail account you want to send from using Gmail’s SMTP server, in Mail go to Preferences > Accounts, and choose Gmail’s SMTP server from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) popup menu.
BTW, if you’re using Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), as your profile indicates, it would have been more appropriate to discuss this in the Mail & Address Book - Mac OS X 10.3 & earlier forum. If the discussion applies to both Mail 1.x and Mail 2.x, it doesn’t really matter, but it’s difficult to know that in advance.

  • HT5639 I am attempting to install windows 7 ultimate on a mid2012 production macbook pro using Bootcamp 5 in Mountain Lion. Whenever I set the partition size and tell it to continue, the program quits unexpectedly. I have done this about 5 times now. Sugg

The lead-in above pretty much states the problem. I am attempting to install Windows 7 from a disk, but that is not the issue. Boot Camp 5 just quits and reopens. I then repeat. Help.

I am about to run specialized GIS software that may or may not need the full machine resources. I am an attorney who uses QuickBooks for my accounting. The Mac version does not do as much as the Windows version. This is from both Apple and Quick Books professionals. I am using Parallels Desktop version 8 at this time. It does not support QuickBooks Windows version per Parallels. Any other questions? I am a highly competent PC user who is new to Macs. I am entitled to my own configuration choices. That said, I know when I need help which is now.
As to the free space issue I have 665.18 GB free space out of 749.3 GB on the drive. I am not trying to run the 32 bit version. I know that it requires the 64 bit version. Besides, it does not get that far in the process. As I said Boot Camp asssitant terminates unexpectedly as soon as you hit the continue button after setting the partition size. Therefore I conclude that it does not have a chance to see which version of Windows that I am using. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version in the virtual engine (to use Parallels speak), but again Boot Camp would not see that since it is not running. It can't run at the momenet because Apple just installed a new hard drive and I have just restored the data from TIme Machine and Parallels needs reactivated, which I have not done yet deliberatley. With all of this addtiional information do you have any further suggestions? Thanks for your time and interest my issue.

    Some clarification may help.
You say you cannot boot normally.  It shows a gray screen with the Apple logo.
Did you say it will boot successfully in Safe Mode (boot, then hold down the Shift key)?
How did you boot the machine to run Disk Utility?  (Which keyboard combinations)?

You need to visit Apple Store, and show ownership proof in case of forgotton pass code.

Reboot your Mac, as soon as you hear the chime press the option/alt key and hold it until the boot manager appears, select OSX to boot from.

Use that code to go into the BIOS.
Disable all passwords that are enabled.
IF asked for the CURRENT password use that code.
IF asked for NEW password just hit enter.

  • Bootcamp Issues when attempting to install Windows 7

Please excuse my ignorance.... new to Apple after using Windows for ever.
I am attempting to install Windows 7 on my new MacBook Pro 13" purchased 4 days ago. I follow the instructions from following tutorials on UTube however do not get the option to divide my OS into a mac portion and a windows portion.
I have got the original Windows 7 disc have also created an ISO version, and have formatted a USB to be MS-DOS Fat. Still no luck
On the tutorials, it states to open up Bootcamp, then divide the partitians for Windows / Mac, then load up your Windows 7 disc.
This does not happen on my bootcamp.
Im asked to create an ISO of Windows 7, which I have done
Then asked to download the latest Windows support software for Apple - which starts - but never ends
Then when attempting the third section, installing Windows 7 I get an error message stating please install the installation disc and wait a few seconds
I am using the Bootcamp that was included with my purchase of the MacBook Pro. Should I search for another one - although I appear to be up to date with applications.
I am doing this in order to use CorelDRAW via windows on my mac for my small business. Any help would be most appreciated, and please no smart comments as i am really struggling here and everything appears to be simple, but is not.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Errors "A media driver your computer needs is missing." or "Windows cannot install required files" upon attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 64-bit

I'm attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 [64-bit]
I am currently being prevented from installing by a "A media driver your computer needs is missing." error, which occurs fairly early in the process. I've interpreted further text in the message as a suggestion that it's a DVD, USB or some other
similar driver issue. However, as I've been able to attempt each install through booting from DVD and USB, I'm not convinced this is the issue.
I'm currently installing to a 128Gb SSD drive. I have installed Windows 10 TP on my laptop's SSD with no issues.
On a few occasions the installation has continue with the installation, and then failed at about 6% with the following error:
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D". I have not removed the installation USB or DVD.
I did not have this issue when installing build 9841, so am currently assuming this is an issue with build 10041.
Apologies if this query has been posed before, a search did not show up this issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for trying to assist!
I attempted removing/deleting partitions and formatting the SSD as part of the install process. I have also tried installing via USB and DVD with the same issues.
As part of the troubleshooting, I attempted to install a different OS. I was able to successfully install Linux Mint 17.1 with no issues. This further solidifies my impression this is an issue with Windows.
I will try a different USB port, appreciate the suggestion, didn't think it would make a different given the various methods already attempted.

  • Attempted to install Windows XP Home Edition

I partitioned my macbook pro and attempted to install Windows XP
It went well up until the 57% complete mark when the windows couldn't copy rpcrt4.dll and shell32.dll. When asked if I wanted Windows to retry to copy I hit yes and the same error occurred. I then skipped through to continue installation. When I tried to startup in Windows got a blue-screen asking me to reinstall rpcrt4.dll
I realize this was posted before, but I'm having this exact same problem and tried the solution and it didn't work in my case.
This is my very first post and I'm hoping someone can help.

    XP SP3?
That version CD comes in multiple flavors.
EDU editions of Windows 7 Pro ISO electronic downloads that have to be burned, if done with Apple DU, will not work unless burn speed is reduced 2x.
Of course software from torrents are just not a good idea ever.
And XP SP2 is not on Microsoft's supported list as far as updates go, SP3 of course still is (has been out almost 3 yrs now too) with the transition to 64-bit and Windows 7 (or waiting for 8 to arrive?)

  • Deleted Linux my mistake in an attempt to install windows 7

    Product Name: HP Probook 4540s
    Product Number: B4V21PA#UUF
    Operating System: Suse Linux (previos)
Error: Can't install win 7 and lost Suse Linux by accidently deleting the partition
I encountered a problem and am really lost here.
My laptop came with Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop edition, I mistakenly deleted the that partition in an attempt to install windows 7 on my laptop. I intended to keep both Windows 7 and Suse on my laptop. Now I can't install windows 7 as it says that some driver is missing and I was not provided with a key when I purchased this laptop but the Suse as already installed on it. Can you help or suggest what should I do? How can I get my copy of Suse Linux back?

I would call HP on the phone to see if you can order a recovery disc set for your specific model, use that to restore Linux.
