EFI update not working.

I grabbed it via Software Update and ran through the flash procedure three times, but kept getting the install instructions when the system rebooted. Then I downloaded the .dmg file and tried it that way twice. Nada. Anyone else had this problem? It seems like it's working when I do it. I briefly get the status bar showing it flashing and then the system reboots, but I keep getting the setup instructions when the system comes back up.

You might try doing this with a clean drive with a new install of Mac OS X 10.4.8. Additionally, try resetting PRAM and NVRAM…

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Mac Book Software Update not working, iTune will not update because of that, iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes because iTunes is not updated. Mac v.10.5.8, iTunes v.10.5.2, iPhone4 iOS 6

Mac Book Software Update not working (Software Update does not have any new software for your computer at this time), my current MacBook version is 10.5.8.
As a result I can't update iTunes, version 10.5.2 (This software requiers Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later)
Now when I connect my iPhone 4, version iOS 6 iTunes can't connect to iPhone (The iPhone "XXXXX's iPhone" cannot be used because it requiers iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.)
so in a nutshell can't use iphone 4, because iTune is not updated and will not update because Mac Book is not up to date and will not update either.

Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade. http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 Call Apple to buy Snow Leopard. Then, make a backup, insert the DVD and upgrade. When it finishes, open  > Software Update

Wireless OS Update - not working

I've been trying to update my BlackBerry Torch 9800 6.0.0.246 to higher version wirelessly but all it says - “Your BlackBerry is up to date.” The others we're able to update their smartphone but why can't I? I don't want to plug my phone to any computer using the cable connector because I'm afraid it would get virus and be ruined eventually. Please help..

Site list update not working with TED and Zenworks for Servers

Subject: Site list update not working with TED and Zenworks for Servers ,
all on Linux
Description: We have an exiting environment with 6 ZfS Servers and now we
brought up a new Server for another location. I configured all same as on
the other Server and the new one created all NAL-Apps at the new location.
But in the Application Site list on the golden App is this Application
missing. So I clicked on the Link up site list on the Distribution Screen
in C1. On ApplicationSite list the App from the new location is missing.
So I removed all and added the new from the new location and now i see all
in the application site list.When I install an app on the client on the
new location NAL is connecting alway th the same (wrong location-server
and i get an msi error 1612 or id=53272 with path=\Wrong serverpath to
file.
I looked on the other tab on C1 at the golden app an I see the backlinks
are going to all other servers without the new one. Software installation
on other locations are ok

I forgot to mention that you can also set the loging level on the Distributor and the Subscriber to 6. to do this at the Zenworks Server Management prompt type "setconsolelevel 6" if you want to capture this to the log file ted.log then use "setfilelevel 6"
Next delete the Distribution from the Subscriber and then re-push the channel.
What we are looking for here in the log is the creation of the object and the linking information about the gold object. it should look like this (not the failure part ;-))) )
In this excerpt you will see the entry

You can check this both ways in the Golden App and in the Distributed Application.

A quick question. You see, I have been upgrading my computer. I installed a Belkin USB USB Card (high speed 2.0) cause I needed more USB ports. Then I checked for compatable RAM and upgraded my RAM from 512MB to 2Gigs. Everything alright.
Now, I have checked for processors that are compatable with my board K9VGM-V (MS-7253). And MSI's chart says mine is compatable with the AMD Athlon 2x 6000 (3.0Ghz) *IF* I use the 89 watt and not the 125 watt. Here is a good URL for the processor details I found:

Hi, I am currently using Snow Leopard 10.6 on my iMac. I opened iTunes and was told there was an update available so I clicked the button to download it. This obviously opened up the 'download' screen with blue bar. The blue bar does not move and the message comes up that the download failed. I have tried troubleshooting, but the message I get is that I am not connected to the internet - which I am.
Please help.

Check your iTunes version, it's reporting v10.6.3 here on 10.6.8 and no updates required.

[Bug?] Defer Panel Update not working when changing scale property

Hi,
I found that Defer Panel Update [when True] does not work properly when changing the scale fit property of an intensity graph.
Try the VI.
When Defer Panel Update is True, and you change the Numeric controls, the Intensity graph is not updated (as expected).
But now change the "Z Scale.Scale Fit" button and.... the Intensity graph is updated (only the Z-color, not the axis).
This looks to be a bug to me!

I've read the threads.
This is a Vista Ultimate upgrade. My OOOOH My I have clocked 8 hours
Everything was working before. I tried all of the recommended services turning on restarting.
Also, ran into the problem of my memory being eaten. Suspected cause hibernate mode, which I had to disable. Scott Hasselman blog recommended the fix which is a cheap work around that limits machines functionality!!
I'm and IT Engineer specializing in MS product lines since Windows 1.0. MFC foundation classes etc.. What is the real problem ?
I don't have the NetBIOS over tcp/ip in my services?
I figure that the cost of my time and other individuals pays for the OS four times over. Give me a Microsoft developer subscription or something to make me happy. This is my development machine and I'm loosing time and money.
FYI, Just upgraded my second machine to Windows 8.1 OMG !!2 Hours to upgrade after the download. I loose my configuration settings. I required to have a Windows Live whatever account!!! This is not the way to compete and keep customers.
Windows XP has been by far the best deployment experience. I need a Knowledge base that gives solutions , not a troubleshooting scenario that does or does not work!!
Please , don't tell me to go and by a OEM Surface I cannot recommend this to my clients.

If it worked previously, a quick solution is to run System Restore and get back to the previous status when the issue didn’t occur.

Please check if you have any error message about network discovery in event viewer.

Please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the Error logs to a public folder and share the URLs with us.
Also, please temporarily turn off your firewall and all the security programs for a test.
As far as I know, Network discovery requires that the DNS Client, DNS Client, Network Connections, Network Location Awareness, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), Function Discovery
Resource Publication, TCP/IP Netbios helper, SSDP Discovery, and UPnP Device Host services are started and set to automatic.
You should check again if you have started all these services.
Regarding the update issue, I suggest you try the following suggestions.
1. Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus program to test the issue.
2. Open the Windows Update troubleshooter

I have installed BootCamp 5.1 and Windows updates not working because it extract files on Mac partition before installation. Is there any workaround for same ?

To replicate this issue - Try to download .net framework 4.5 from microsoft website and than run that setup on windows partition.
Before installation. it will first extract all the binaries to a other drivers, since in my case other primary drive is E which is a Mac partition so it always give me an error while extractiing and therefore setup is not able to execute propely.
Let me try to get the screen shot of error and send it here.

It sounds like the wifi button is grayed out and you are unable to toggle it.
I recommend trying the steps in this article:

Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Ensure that your device is using the latest software. To do so, connect your device to your computer and check for updates in iTunes.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTunes.

Apps update not working. Was before but latest updates won't load to update.

I have updates waiting to be loaded but when I click on the update tab, it is frozen and won't even bring up the list of what needs updated. Just shows that I have 3 apps that need updates.Has been working until 2 days ago. Tried a restart but still the same issue.

Update Not Working

So I have tried everything to get the 4.3 update to work on my Galaxy S4. I even factory reset the entire phone, deleting absolutely everything, and the update STILL doesn't work. It takes forever to download, then it verifies the download, then it starts the installation. Then after a minute or two of "installing" the little android icon falls over with a red triangle above his belly and it says "Error." Then the phone restarts, and it says "Update unsuccessful: There was an issue installing the update, and your phone has not been updated" or something. How do I fix this??
And to add insult to injury, now I can't even use the google play store to download the My Backup Pro app to restore all my data from my SD card! I'm about ready to throw the **** thing out the window. (But this is probably just due to Verizon coverage being awful and slow in NYC, which is why I wanted to update in the first place, as I'm told it's supposed to open up a new LTE band to hopefully makes things less miserably slow!)

Remote App 2.3 Update Not Working! (ATV1 3.0.2 & iTunes 10.6.0.40)

Can anyone help?
I have recently updated my Apple Remote app on my iphone 4, from 2.2 to the 2.3 update, and now the app will not pair with anything.
From within the app I can add an iTunes Library, then from ATV1 enter the code to pair the devices (so they are seeing each other) but the iPhone now refuses to pair with the ATV1, it sits at 'connecting to ??? Apple TV...' for ages, the the message 'Remote can't connect to your iTunes library, check your network settings and try again'. It is the same when trying to pair with iTunes library on my Windows 7 laptop.
Home sharing is on, and logged in under same Apple ID on iPhone and iTunes, ATV1 is paired successfully with iTunes, Firewall is set to allow iTunes, but the remote app will not work with anything now since I updated the iPhone IOS to 5.1 and the Remote App to 2.3.
Has or is anyone else having this issue, or have I just messed up in my setting somewhere... This is very frustrating, I am missing streaming my music into the man cave (garage) via airplay speakers and controling the ATV1 remotely with the app...
