EH&S - Label - define multiple language variantions - one template

Dear all,
We would like to generate an Product Safety Label from the system (by using a WWI template). The difficulty is that these lables should contain as much as possible languages and they deviate from time to time, as of shipping to other countries.
As far as we know, we can change the Symbol catagory by using the following IMG path:
IMG path: EHS > Basic data tools > Report Definiton > Report Symbols > Check and Specify Report Symbols. Here we can change the report symbol type to paramater or change the rep. sym. group so that an pop-up will appear at the display (generation) of a Label from one specification. We would like to use the input parameters to define the specific languages on the Label (e.g. 6 languages for e.g. First Aid measures phrases), this with only one WWI template.
Would this be feasible? Or are there other options/ways to configure/develop the report so that we can display (on-demand) the specific languages we would like to have on the label?
Thank you in advance!!
Kind regards,
Rob Greijmans

Hello
in addition of what has been explaned:
you need a good understanding how to maintain WWI layouts and what is needed on the level of the generation vairaiant in addition  (GLM topic). This topic is a little bit "sophisticated" and you should start only if you understand the basic concepts in doing so and there will be many "pitfalls".
Take a look here:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04_sp/helpdata/en/a1/4eeaa2eaab5f4ebd8272e143831f06/frameset.htm
and especially using the EH&S sap help you will find the topic:
"Example: Repeating Group of Type G"
And you need to have a look here as well in EH&S hel
"Taking Validity Areas into Account"
with best regards

  • Multiple Languages in one Form

    Hello,
I have a requirement to replace a preprinted form and create a form in SAP that contains  texts in multiple languages. e.g. Russian, Greek, Bulgarian, German, English etc.
The  form also contains single lines of text with multiple Languages.
Does anybody know how to achieve this?
    We are on ERP 6.0.
    Greetings,
    Thomas

if your using the smartforms :
you can use multiple include texts
    if it is EN
    Text Name         &GV_DEL_NUM&
    Text Object       VBBK
    Text ID           ZSO6
    Language            EN  pass here
      if it is DE
    Text Name         &GV_DEL_NUM&
    Text Object       VBBK
    Text ID           ZSO6
    Language      DE pass here
    like create multiple texts.
    if it is SCRIPT
use read_text  multiple times and based on language
finally  CONCATENATE texts into single line......

  • Define multiple operations in one WebService recommended or bad idea?

    If I have the choice
    1 operation in 1 webService = n WebServices
    or
    n operations in 1 WebService
    which one is preferable?
What are the pros and cons of putting multiple operations into ONE webservice?
    Peter

Not sure why you would have a lot of different stylesheets applied to various pages  :-)
Why not just one stylesheet to cover *all* the styling for *every* page... that makes mroe sense to me.  In this way, you only have stylesheet you need to edit whenever you make *any* changes.
The more stylesheets you have the more fiddly it becomes in my opinion.
Saying that, there is no reason why you can't link to multiple stylesheets, just remembering that the last one in the list is the one that takes precedence.
So if you have a style for a paragraph for example in 2 stylesheets, then the lowest on the ladder will be the one that the paragrah is styled from.

Can we use multiple queries on one template

    Hi,
if you're using data templates for your data set, you
can put multiple queries in the XML data template.
The queries may then be linked (or not) by the "link

Grtz.Following you answer here...do you know eventually how/if possible to preview a report (with XMLP Desktop) that is using data templates for the data set?

  • Defining Multiple Groups in PDF template

    Hi,
I am having trouble defining multiple groups in my pdf template. I would like to set up multiple groups for printing po data such as (G_LINES, G_SHIPMENTS, etc.) How is this done in Acrobat? I am using 7.0 Professional. I have created BODY START and BODY END text fields and inserted the <?rep_field="BODY_START"?> and <?rep_field="BODY_END"?> syntax into the Tooltip area as instructed in the user's guide. I have entered the <?rep_field="T1_G1"?> syntax for each element in my lines group. This works fine. But, how do I set up the group for the shipment information?
    Thanks!

Put all the fields inside the innermost for-each loop.

  • Multiple languages in one Pages document

Hi.  I don't know how to use mac software to use several languages on the same document.  I regularly write articles and book chapters using sources (including interview stuff and book and article references) from English, Spanish, Italian and French.  I also do posters on iWork's Pages; my mac software seems to have a lot of problems recognizing language change, and I have lost all hope to use grammar proof and spellcheckers.  Has anyone been able to solve this type of problem?  There must be thousands of academics out there working on multilingual documents.  Someone must have come up with a good solution!  I will be thankful for any advice you can give me on this

    Just clarifying Tom's post.
The language of the text is part of its style, like bold or the font or color.
Select the text and declare its langauge in:
    Inspector > Text > More > Language
Then include that in a Character Style and you can apply it to other text.

  • Multiple languages in one InDesign file?

I need to create an InDesign document that uses English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, and Japanese. How do I do this? Are there fonts that support these languages. Thank you

Language is a part of paragraph style, and also found in character style.
You nee to select fonts which support specific language features. When you buy a font, you see what features each font supports and which languages. I recommend to use only OTF fonts which allow embedding in PDFs.
For non-European languages you will need specific versions of InDesign installed. If you are a CC subscriber you can download and install those versions for Asian and ME languages, you need to change the app language in the preferences in the CC app, install, change to the next language, additional plug ins will be installed which will also work if you run the program in any other language. It will also install fonts for those language groups.

  • Reference data extraction in multiple languages

    Hi all
I'd like to extract reference data from ECC system for say Material Groups with the descriptions in both English and German.
I added entries in the MDMGXC1 table to import the material group key and description into MDM lookup tables. Even though the German values exist in ECC its only the english ones which are imported.
This happens with all the reference tables. Is it because the language assigned to me in the ECC sys i EN, its by default picking up only that?
    Thanks
    SwarnaDeepika

    Hi Swapna,
Check your repository definition in ECC using MDMGX transaction and "Define repositories". Please check and revert if you have german "DE" languages defined for your repository. You can define multiple languages seperated by Comma.
    Please revert with your findings..

  • Can we store BW codes in Unicode /multiple languages ?

I am aware that we can create BW reports in multiple languages on one system. Is this only limited to texts or can we store/display codes also in unicode ? Our requirement is to display all codes as well as texts in multiple languages. Your quick response is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
It refers to texts only. As far as I knew it doesn't apply to codes I believe. I hope this will help you.

  • Printing multiple format/language in one submission

I'm new to XML Publisher and want to bounce my understanding off of someone to see if I'm understanding things. I have been requested to have one concurrent manager request submitted that will print all of the days invoices in the proper language and format.
Following is my understanding - please verify:
    1. I think I need a RTF template per language/format. I can register one "Template" but assign multiple RTF formats based on Lang/Territory.
    2. I could allow the user to submit one request and it would execute a PL/SQL procedure that would submit multiple XML Report Publisher requests with the appropriate language and territory parameters so the correct RTF is used.
    3. The part I'm not so sure about is how to generate the XML Data. I'm thinking that I would have to actually submit a language/territory specific XML Data generation process before the XML Report Publisher process and feed that request id to the XML Report Publisher process.
    4. Question: is it wise to use the existing Oracle Report with output type XML to do #3 since it is already built and has all of the invoice logic in it?
Any and all feedback on the above is greatly appreciated.
    Carl

You can use the existing report logic to get the data out in XML format as you mentioned.

  • Is it possible to define multiple web services in one project?

I'd like to publish multiple components within one project as web services. but when I try to create it using the project New menu, it only prompts me and allows me to select one component . So does this mean only one web service can exist in one project?

    Sunil
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I think I should have worded my question more clearly.
I have a project with multiple Java classes. I'd like to convert two of them into web services.
There are two ways to co this.
    1. I right click on each class and select the Generate J2EE Web Service option. This will work correctly and allow multiple web services to be generated.
but this is not what I want to do .
What we are trying to do is to generate web services at the project level. I am following instructions in OTN web services tutorial :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/ws/wsandascontrol.htm
So , this is what I do :
    1. Right-click on my project and select New from the context menu.
    2. In the New Gallery, expand Business Tier in the Categories list and select Web Services, then select Java Web Service from the Items list. Click OK.
    3. In the Select J2EE Web Service Version dialog, select J2EE 1.4 (JAX-RPC) Web Service, then click OK.
    4. Click past the welcome page
    5. This brings me to the page where I can select the web service and class.
This is where I am stuck - it seems I can only select one web service here . Unless I am missing something.
Or should I just repeat the process multiple times - running the wizard once for each class ?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Best practice in working with Adobe forms in multiple languages

We have to provide access to some Adobe Interactive Forms in both English and French, some of them from Web Dynpro application(s), some of them as callable objects from Guided Procedures.
1- We know for sure that we can have two copies of each form, one in English and one in French but that implies duplicating the FormCalc and Javascript code behind.
2- Another way if to modify in javascript all labels, captions using some javascript i.e. If lang = "E" then "My label" else "Mon étiquette" . It would work but it is not very efficient.
Is someone here has experience with this type of situation and would be willing to share his experience with me?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Benoit,
For Adobe Forms in multiple language you can use include text solution also . Within this solution you need to add a language parameter in your interface and then retrieve the include text in the language value ( not current language ) . Personnaly i used a lot this solution with Smartforms text .
Also i used dictionnary text for text linked with data dictionnary element . For this there is standard function module in SAP .
Anothers way is in the SFP editor you can translate your form as in SAPSCRIPT .
    Hope this help you
    Regard.
PS : if necessary i can send you a sample form with smartform/Dictionnary text solution.

  • GRC 10.0 Notifications in Multiple Languages

    Hello GRC Gurus,
In my Organization, We have a requirement to support French Language due to legal requirements in the Quebec provinvce. This means that all notifications to users in the Quebec province will have to be delivered in French.
I have researched this in as far as:
French Language has to be implemented as a prerequisite in SMLT
The standard notification templates will be available in French language once the language pack is installed
The issue i have here is:
can the notifications be sent to different sets of users in different languages? I see that that one message class can only be associated with one document object. Is there a way to get around this to define who will get the notification in French and who will get it in English probaly based on USER GROUP or DEFAULT LANGUAGE
Ofcourse, the message documents can be modified to present it in both English and French to make it easier but in future if there are legal requirement in others countries it does not make sense to keep adding the message body in all the required languages
    Can you please help?
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
I was looking into a similar requirement and came to the early conclusion that GRC is not smart enough to handle multi language notifications.
The reason why I say this is that whilst you can create multiple documents in SE61 in different languages, it looks like you can only create a single message class that gets aligned into MSMP, i.e no choice of multiple languages there.
What I am unsure about (as I have never bothered to investigate it) is the "message number" column in the "Variables & Templates" section of MSMP. I am unsure if you can send a number of messages for the same template and message class.
Also, I am unsure how GRC checks the user's logged in language and selects the document template.
Have you considered having the content of the email contain dual languages? i.e. first paragraph in English, second in French etc?

  • Reports Output in MULTIPLE Languages..

    Hello -
We have a customer with operating locations in China, Japan and USA. They are OK with using the application (Forms, Java etc) in English. But they have few Customer facing reports (Invoices, Statements etc.) that need to be printed in the local language (Both DATA and Labels).
So it is NOT just labels but also the data (right, even the item descriptions, styles, color) etc needed to be printed in Local Language.
I know one way we do this is by storing the data in multiple languages (Items Descriptions, Colors, Styles) in a table. But I am wondering if there is ANY Dynamic conversion utility that can be used at the report run time that can convert ENGLISH to local languages before printing.
    Any suggestions?>
    Thank YOU
    Bala

    Hi Norman,
We have Siebel 8.0.0.8 implemented in ENU and FRA. I have an XLIFF for each language. However , when I run the report from the French application, the report generated has all the labels show up correctly in French. However, the LOV values still show up in English. If I set the Language Code parameter in the XMLP Report Server component to FRA, then the French LOV values show up in English and French reports.
How do I get the correct LOVs to show up on the correct language reports. Any ideas ?
    Thanks
