Any experience of using multiperiod consolidation with load from datastream functionality, as opposed to flexible upload?

not with LFDS but I have several other tasks and
i don't see any problems with multiperiod monitor as long as there is no manual intervention required
(eg if you the task requires choosing a file or entering manual entries, then multiperiod monitor will ignore it).
have you got a specific error to tell us about?

Index for loads from ODS To Cube

The load from ODS to cube is taking a long time - In the start routine another ODS is being looked up - The keys for look up is say X and Y
There is already an index existing on keys X , Y & Z -
Will this index be used while doing the select on that ODS or I need to create a new index with only X and Y keys ?

When you are running the start routine - run an SQL trace - ST05 - that will tell you if the index is being used.

Best practice for loading from mysql into oracle?

Hi!
We're planning migrating our software from mysql to oracle. Therefore we need a migration path for moving the customer's data from mysql to oracle. The installation and the data migration/transfer have to run onto different customer's enviroments. So migration ways like installing the oracle gateway and connect for example via ODBC to mysql are no option because the installation process gets more complicated... Also the installation with preconfigured oracle database has to fit on a 4,6 GB dvd...
I would prefer the following:
- spool mysql table data into flat files
- create oracle external tables on the flat files
- load data with insert into from external tables
Are there other "easy" ways of doing migrations or what do you think about the prefered way above?

Didn't anyone have this requirement for migrations? I have tested with the mysql select into file clause. Seems to work for simple data types - we're now testing with blobs...

i am trying to load data from a csv file. i used MS excel to create this cvs file. now in BI-7 what settings do i need to use to load the data. i need info like "Seperator" and "Replacement for Blank".

Hi Adnan,
First you create a source system for flat file loading.
Do this in RSA1 - Source Systems. Via context menu, create it in node "File".
Then, goto the RSA1 - Datasources view. Choose the corrrect source system.
Create a datasource and assign fields.
Use your datasource to load data into infoobject, datastore using a transformation between the datasource and datastore.
Create and schedule an infopackage to load to PSA.
Create and schedule a DTP to load into target.

Restrict authorizations for loads from HR to BW for certain data

Hi,
our customer wants protect some data in the HR productive system. This data are defined/restricted by certain personal areas.
It is not enough to use reporting authorizations in BW to restrict presentation in queries or use filters in infopackets during load to avoid this data.
The requirement is to make load of such data from HR to BW absolutely impossible, even BW administrator cannot see them and must not be able to load them.
We will probably have to somehow limit ALEREMOTE users authorizations in BW. I do not know how and I even doubt, that extractors in HR source system perform authorizations checks for fields.
Is there any way to do this?

Create a general enhancement program (restricted authorization) with generic name, which should be called dynamically for every datasource.

Not personally tested but check following.
In that program, you may try applying following logic:
1) You may need to use TYPE ANY field symbols
2) In While Loop until all fields of C_T_DATA checked, may be a counter based on total number of fields.
DELETE C_T_DATA where <TYPE_ANY1> EQ (OR use IN) specific value(s) of Personnel Area
DELETE C_T_DATA where <TYPE_ANY1> CS (Contains, check pattern) specific value(s) of Personnel Area
ENDWHILE.
Optionally: For Standard Daatsources in the same program you can add logic based on standard field only "WERKS".
Note: You may need to research on dynamic pointing using field symbols for every field.

Mapping in Transformation file for loading infoprovider

Mapping in transformation file for load from infoprovider:
The requirement is : if Account of BW starts with 70XXXXXXX then use char1 if Account of BW starts with 12XXXXXXX then use char2 in BPC dimension 2.
So, in the transformation file for a load from an infoprovider we want for a dimension to use the data from a certain BW characteristic based on the characteristic Account.
For example if the account start with 70 then use for a certain bpc-dimension u201Cdetailu201D the characteristic of 0COUNRTY should be used, if account start with 2 the char X should be used etc..
Following in the transformation works but the issue is that we have to specify all the accounts individually (+100 accounts in the statement which is not feasible):
BPC_detail = *IF (BWACCOUNT = str(70000010) then 0COUNTRY;str(NO_DETAIL))
Where BPC_detail is the dimension in BPC and BWACCOUNT is the characteristic in BW.
Following statement does not work: there is also no documentation available how to do this:
BPC_detail = *IF (BWACCOUNT(1:2) = str(70) then 0COUNTRY;str(NO_DETAIL))
Is there a solution/statement that fulfills this requirement for the load of an infoprovider?
( so similar to what you can do with the load of a flat file like for example: Entity=IF(col(1,1:1)=U then SEntity;*col(1,1:1)=Z then *col(1,3:6); *STR(ERR)) )

Install process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI from BI Content as follows:
1.Enter Tcode RSA1
2. In the left navigation bar, click 'BI content'
3. Select process chain and double click "Select Objects".
4. Select the process chain /CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI.
5. Click 'Transfer Selections' button.
6. On the right pane, install objects from BI Content.
7. Enter Tcode SE38.
8. Input program name ujs_activate_content and click to run.
9. Only select option 'Update DM Default Instructions'.
10. Execute program.

Hi,
For loading from one ODS to another you use export datasource. Its called a datamart load.
Full load is generally performed once to load all the historical data.
After that you do an init load and deltas will follow which will load only the changed or new records frequently.
Full repair can be said as a Full with selections. But the main use or advantage of Full repair load is that it wont affect delta loads in the system. If you load a full to a target with deltas running you again will have to initialize them for deltas to continue. But if you do full repair it wont affect deltas.
This is normally done we when we lose some data or there is data mismatch between source system and BW.
Check the OSS Note 739863 'Repairing data in BW' for all the details
You need to create an export datasource (8<Source ODS>) and the update rules from Source ODS to target ODS for loading.
Also InfoPackages for Init, Full/Full repair and Delta loads.
Loading procedure had been discussed previously in SDN.
You will get detailed info in SDN.

HT1391 I have down loaded a number of songs but after a short while they go messing. I tunes can not find them. If I down load from a cd there is no problems. I tunes can always find them. For that reason I no longer down load from the I tunes store. why

I want to load data from oracle database to essbase using ODI.
I configure successfully the physical and logical Hyperion essbase on Topology Manager, and got the ESSBASE structure of BASIC app DEMO.
The problem is.
1. When I try view data right click on the essbase table,

Hi ethan.....
U always need a driver to be present inside ur <ODI installation directory>\drivers folder.....for both the target and the source......Because ojdbc14.jar is the driver for oracle already present inside the drivers folder ....we don't have to do anything for it.....But for Essbase ...you need a driver......If u haven't already done this.....try this.....

As part of data conversion planning from legacy mainframe to SAP CRM and ECC systems, I need to know the different tools available for loading the data and comparative analysis of the tools by showing the features. Please also describe the process to evaluate the tools (prototyping, technical discussions etc) and make the recommendations.
I would also appreciate any information on testing tools like (eCATT) and any third party tools (like Informatica)

Process for Flat file delta load from Application server to transactional??

I want to do a flat file extraction in delta loads from application server and that should be loaded into a transactional cubes scheduling a process chain.
Can any one help with ABAP code and step by step process for this?

Hi Devi,
As per your explaination, you want to load a list of files from application server using process chain.
You can do this with below steps.
1) Create a Event and call event to run Process chain multiple times.
2) Put all filenames in a file say, source-File
3) Write a rooting to read filename from Source-File and trigger InfoPackage
4) At the end of the process chain create new customized program which will delete first line from Source-File so that it will take next file in next run as well as delete currently loaded file. Once this is done trigger event again to start process chain again.

The error message probably said "unsupported or damaged"
The T3 requires Lightroom 3.4.1 or later. You can either upgrade to a more current version of Lightroom (version 5.6 is the most recent) or you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAWs to DNG, which should import into Lightroom properly.
