  • Enterprise Services without ESR and EHP - is it possible

    Hi All,
I am investigating if it is possible to setup Enterprise services without having ESR in our landscape. We also do not have EHP installed in our ERP system. We have SAP ECC 6.0 and PI 7.0.
I would like to install separate ES that I would like to use for our current project. I can't wait for installing ESR on PI and EHPs on ERP.
Is it possible? If it is how I can do it?
    br
    Dawid

    Hi Dawid,
Contrary to what the previous post said (SudipPaul)...
It is possible to setup Enterprise Services without having an ESR in your landscape. You'll just need to ensure that the ECC version that you're on supports the Enterprise Service in question. You would typically search for possible Enterprise Services that you could use in the ES Workplace:
    [http://esworkplace.sap.com/socoview(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZkPW1pbg==)/render.asp?sap-unique=130459&sap-params=aWQ9RjZDRkMwRUEzRUYxNEJDOTg0MUM1MjgyNzJFRTg1ODMmcGFja2FnZWlkPURFMDQyNkREOUIwMjQ5RjE5NTE1MDAxQTY0RDNGNDYyJm1vZGU9]
From the ES Workplace you can also test drive the Enterprise Service that you're thinking of using to see if it meets your requirements. You do this by applying for access to the relevant backend system/s on the same landing page as above.
If you have identified an Enterprise Service that you want to use (you'll normally notice the ECC version or Industry Solution version that the enterprise service is available from) then you'll need to check whether you're on the right ECC version or higher. Use this forum thread as an example to identify that:
    [Can't find  ESA ECC-SE 603 SWCV;
So it is possible depending on whether the Enterprise Service is available with the ECC version you have & without PI or ESR or anything else. The ESR is a nice to have & just makes life a lot easier. A services registry is also a nice to have but not compulsory.

  • FS15 and FS15 in ECC 5.0 and 4.6C

Hi, is there any difference between the transactions in ECC 5 and 4.6C.
I was trying to import GL accounts from 4.6C(with tcode-FS15) and export into ECC 5.0(with tcode-FS16) and i was endedup with the error "Transaction type 01000 not valid in record type Y".
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks.

The export/import should work the way you are using it. Just make sure you are using same memory id and make sure its unique - meaning u are using it only for this itab purpose and not overwriting it with other values. Check itab is not initial before you export in program 1 - then import it in prog2 with same memory id...also check case, I am not sure if its case sensitive...
Here is how you use the second variant...
Two fields with two different identifications "P1" and "P2" with the dynamic variant of the cluster definition are written to the ABAP Memory. After execution of the statement IMPORT, the contents of the fields text1 and text2 are interchanged.
    TYPES:
      BEGIN OF tab_type,
        para TYPE string,
        dobj TYPE string,
      END OF tab_type.
    DATA:
id    TYPE c LENGTH 10 VALUE 'TEXTS',
      text1 TYPE string VALUE `IKE`,
      text2 TYPE string VALUE `TINA`,
      line  TYPE tab_type,
itab  TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF tab_type.
    line-para = 'P1'.
    line-dobj = 'TEXT1'.
    APPEND line TO itab.
    line-para = 'P2'.
    line-dobj = 'TEXT2'.
    APPEND line TO itab.
EXPORT (itab)     TO MEMORY ID id.
    IMPORT p1 = text2
           p2 = text1 FROM MEMORY ID id.

  • Replication of functional location and equipment from ECC to CRM.

    Hi Guys
I have activated the required BADI's and adapter objects for func loc and equipment. but i am not able to replicate the funcloc and equipment from ecc to crm.

As of SAP CRM 7.0 you can replicate functional locations from SAP ERP to SAP CRM. This function is supported as of SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0.
In SAP CRM, functional locations are represented as object components of an installed base. The structure of functional locations is also replicated, and reflected in the installed base structure. If you replicate functional locations and pieces of equipment, the assignment of equipment to functional locations is also reflected in the installed base structure. The following replication processes are available:
    -     Initial download of functional locations from SAP ERP to SAP CRM in R3AS tcode.

  • Difference between 4.7EE and 6.0 ECC

    Hi,
what are the differences between 4.7EE and 6.0ECC in ABAP point of view?
    will 4.7EE supports web applications?
    thanks,
    hi.

diff between 4.6c to ECC 6.0 abap
main diffeences between SAP 4.7 and ECC 6.0 versions ?
diff between 4.6c to 4.7 abap
difference between SAP 4.6C and SAP ECC6.0
There is lot difference between 4.6c and 6.0
    1) ecc 6.0 coming with inbuild webdynpro , BSP it is not 4.6c
    2) In ecc we have interactive forms concept where it was not there in 4.6c
    3) 4.6c there is no unicode concept here we have unicode and non unicode
ECC->enterprise central component.ECC 6.0 is the advanced version.if we consider in technical point of view then i can give u one example.
In the new version we have enhancement points and enhancement sections along with enhancemnts and BADI'S.SAP has provided these ,so that without going for access keys we can write our code in the enhancement points along with Standard SAP code.So now SAP has provided more user friendly environment. Also a new DEBUGGER also arrived with the new version. Now we can see more things in the new er version of DEBUGGER.
    - Concept of Unicode is introduced.
    - Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.

  • Upgrade from ECC 6.0 with no EHP to EHP 7

    Hello,
We are planning an ERP upgrade from ECC 6.0, which has no enhancement package, to EHP 7.
Can this upgrade be done :
    1. Directly to EHP7
    OR
    2. Do we need to first upgrade to a lower EHP, for example - to EHP 5 or 6 first, and then to EHP 7?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Reena

    Hi Reena
Yes, you can upgrade the system to ECC 6 EHP 6 or 7,
before that is any other SAP system are connected to ECC6 ?
If it is yes, Kindly refer the SAP Note, & you require to check those SAP version are supported to ECC 6 EHP 7 ?

  • EHP and Support packages

    Hello,
    Im going through this document;
Master Guide ; SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 Powered by SAP NetWeaver
Using SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 and SAP NetWeaver 7 including Enhancement Package 2
    Im having  a point to clarify;
SAP enhancement packages have Support Packages of their own that are equivalent to the Support Package versions of the underlying SAP system.
We highly recommend installing the enhancement package in combination with the latest available Support Package stack. This approach reduces installation, modification adjustment, and testing effort. Using this strategy, you can install SAP enhancement packages as a normal maintenance activity together with Support Package stacks.
    Whats meant by ;
SAP enhancement packages have Support Packages of their own that are equivalent to the Support Package versions of the underlying SAP system.
We highly recommend installing the enhancement package in combination with the latest available Support Package stack.
Can you help me to clarify this with an example
    regards,
    Zerandib

    Hi,
Let me give you some basic example to make this statement clear.
We should first of all distinguish between the terms upgrade and update.
UPGRADE means from one Major release level to Another Major Release. Eg: R/3 46C to ECC 6.0
UPDATE means it can be either support package for installed components or Enhancement Packages for existing component.
Instead of upgrading the the entire RELEASE SAP has come up with EHP updates. This give you all major new changes without
doing a complete release upgrade. Also Downtime is reduced.
    Consider this component
    SAP_HR     470     0010     SAPKE47010      R/3 Enterprise 4.7 system
If this is upgraded to EHP 5 then the naming convention becomes
    SAP_HR     605     0043     SAPKE60543      ECC 6.0 with EHP 5
Just like how we have support packages for each component. WE have support packs for the enhancement packages too.
More information can be pbtained in the below link

Refer to this SAP notes for further understanding.

  • ECC6 Upgrade and EHP 4 because of a CRM7 in the landscape?

    Hi,
I am in the way to upgrade my SAP 4.6c system to ECC6.
In my overall landscape, I have a CRM 7 installed.
Do you believe I need to perform a simple ECC6 upgrade or a ECC6 upgrade including EHP4 SR1?
In other words, is it mandatory to go through the Upgrade + EhP4 because I have a CRM 7 around?
    Thank you,
    Chris

    Hi,
according to my view upgrade from SAP 4.6c to ERP 6.0 EHP4 is easy because you can save your time in all preparation task that you to carry before starting upgrade as EHP upgrade itself takes time for preaprtion task....
also, you can reduce the downtime of your production environment if you will directly go to ERP EHP4..
As EHP4 takes significant downtime to upgrade the system ( also depends on hardware and database size)...
Also, you can reduce probablity of error free upgrade by carrying out one upgrade instead of carrrying out 2 upgrade (from SAP 4.6c to ERP6.0 then ERP6.0 to EHP4)...
    Hope it clears to you...
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Java transports across different SPS, EHP and release

    Hi All,
During an SPS/EHP upgrade, there is generally a transport freeze in the development landscape from DEV ->QA->PRD. This due to the incompatibility between the systems. SAP Note explaining the same is 1090842.
I understand that same is true for the Java developments as well. As the SC imported into track are specific to release and SP levels of the WAS. These would have to be adjusted and re-build, (after SPS/EHP upgrade of WAS) so that it refers to the new versions. But these new builds are possible in NWDI, which has not been updated. But these releases cannot be transported to QA before QA is also upgraded to same SPS/EHP as for DEV.
Please let me know if my understanding is correct. If yes, then is there a similar SAP Note/documentation available as for ABAP one explaining the same?
Appreciate your inputs on the same.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arundeep Singh

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply. Your reply seems to talk more on the different release of NWDI and runtime systems.
My query is not about the relation of NWDI and Runtime Java systems compatibility. I want to know the restrictions on transports in which the Runtime system landscape, DEV->QA->PRD, when an SPS/EHP on release is being upgraded on runtime systems. The scenario where standard SAP developments has been modified is clear and there is good enough documentation available [here|https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-17604]. Let me try to explain the case again.
    1. Only the Runtime systems landscape being upgraded. NWDI remains the same.
    2. No SAP standard development has been modified.
    3. There is only custom development, but it has build and/or runtime dependency on standard SAP SWCV. e.g. dependency on JTECH 7.00
    4. Now DEV runtime Java system is upgraded, lets say to EHP1. That means the JTECH will change from JTECH 7.00 to JTECH 7.01 in Runtime DEV system.
    5. Now, I beleive that custom development/ SLD configuration should be adjusted so that custom development now depends on JTECH 7.01 and not on JTECH 7.00.
    6. If this custom development is not modified and transported to QA system, it may not work as the JTECH version is different in DEV and QA.
    7. There could be another option at point 5. It may be chosen not to change the dependency to new JTECH 7.01. but then it may not build or run properly as JTECH in DEV is now JTECH 7.01.
Similar case would be there in case of SPS as well. It is just in case of SPS it is more subtle. The SLD dependencies will remain same. But I wonder if any library/interfaces gets updated/deprecated then the applications may not run as expected. I understand the code is generally downward compatible, but not always.
This is why, I was checking if there is some official document explaining such scenarios. I am still searching. If I came across something i will provide the links.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arundeep Singh
PS: I am not a Java developer. My judgement is purely based on the general logic.
