EHP 7 upgrade & Mopz in Solman 7.1 SP 8

Hi Everyone,
I am currently working on EHP 7 upgrade for my ECC 6 EHP 6 system. I began my work in ECC with SLD data push and SMSY, LMDB config, in Solman now moved on with MOPZ config to download EHP SPS. I have a query here, is it important to have the entire system data updated with SMSY and LMDB in Solman? i understand that MOPZ checks the current system Patch level from SMSY/LMDB and based on our target selection it calculates and recommends. just wondering how exactly it happens!. Bacause we have our BO system and few other non SAP systems in the landscape that are not updated with the SMSY/LMDB but they also should be considerd for the upgrade to check if there are dependencies.
so my question is, do we have to push data from non sap also and maintaine in SMSY and LMDB before we perform EHP SPS download from MOPZ?
other question is, if we perform upgrade in a ECC Sandbox environment (usually a copy of Production), it is not necessary to have sandbox for Portal, PI and other systems. so what is the recommended approach here? do we have to select the Developement  ECC system from MOPZ so that we will have other Dev systems (PI, Portal.,..etc) present in the SMSY & LMDB and MOPZ recommendation will be perfect?
please help me understand this
Thanks,
Shiv

Instead of reviewing SMSY, you should switch over to the LMDB as it is the future for system data in SolMan.
The reason its telling you ERP 6.0 SPS25 is because it is not taking into account your Ehp, SAP still has to support customers who haven't taken the Ehp (perhaps unicode issues, 32 bit to 64 bit, etc) so this is a way to compare.  I found a bar graph that explained this in a very simple picture, however I can't find it online and leads me to believe I read/saw it in a book.  Also think of this my company is currently updating ECC from Ehp 5 SPS 4 to Ehp7 SPS 4, the SPS are the same due to the Ehp change and resetting the SPS counter back to 0, but in mopz I believe it shows SPS 28 or 29 for ECC 6.0; so essentially there is nothing you can or need to fix for the system data.  If this is still confusing I will try to track down the bar graph example I saw.
As for logical components you can create your own (and is advised to do so as SAP could remove entries on you during a SolMan upgrade) so you could list it as z_ERP or zEhpERP or z_ECC; however it makes sens to you and your co-workers/customer, when you manage the system and the button that allows you to configure the system, the first section in the new window stays red until you assign a logical component to the system.  So you might already have something assigned to the system(s).
SAP doesn't list it as BO, and I'm not sure if you can run a successful mopz on BO systems; if you leverage the PAM at SAP you can track down dependencies.  I also believe Process Orchestration is only 7.3/7.31/7.4 which is compatible with Ehp 7.

As for BO, do you have the following under the SWDC?

    Hello
Is it possible to manage ERP upgrade (without EhP) to EhP7 via SolMan PPM (instead project planner tool) ?
    Regards
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
Solution manager is a known Application management solution for Implementation or Upgrades of SAP
infact there is a new feature called EhP scope and effort analyzer which will help to do the entire scoping assessment with impact assessment for the same without even applying on ERP system
yes you read it correctly without even downloading the EhP to your ERP system you can do that now with solman
this is not magic ....check it here

  • Reg : Importing Mapping from PI 7.0 to PI 7.0 EHP upgraded

    Dear Experts,
I have done few huge changes in the mapping existing in our test system which was opened for editing because of EHP upgrading of our Development system.
Now development system is EHP upgraded and Test system is plain.
Is there any way we can import the chagnes done at Test environment back into the development environment without having to redo the changes in Development environment.
I have also exported the changes as tpz file in the export path of our Test system.
    Regards,
    Srivatsan

    Hi Supriya,
Thanks for your reply. The changes has huge mappings, but there are also other objects as well to be moved from the upgraded test environment to the development envieonment,
Is there any way to move all these changes through transports or Other means.

  • EHP Upgrade - Trying to understand the concept

Dear experts, this is an effort to understand the concept. I have been doing Basis work for the past 10 years approximately. All along, I have been doing the typical LCP and SP upgrades way back from legacy systems until now (ECC 5.0 / BW 3.5). We have recently upgraded our BW 3.5 to BI 7.01 and also created a dual stack (we never had Java stack before for BW). This is my situation. Below are my questions. Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
    1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
    2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
    3. Are there any specific upgrade guides that will guide me in transitioning from the typical SP upgrade methodology to EhP upgrade methodology. Also, I would like to know how did you transition (learning curve) from someone who had been with typical SP upgrade for a long time and how did you adopt yourself to the new path (like what guides did you use, what links did you follow, etc)
NOTE: I have heard the EhP upgrades are similar to release upgrades and I have done handful of release upgrades.
Thank you so much in advance.

    >1. Do we still have the SP Stack upgrades within Ehp 1? Or, has it been revamped completely and there is no more SP upgrades and we only need to do EhP upgrades? In this case, if I have to upgrade from Netweaver 7.01, is my only option upgrading to 7.02?
Yes we do have both option available. Either we can go for SP upgrade or we can go with EHP upgrade.
    >2. Is there a place where I can start to catchup with the whole EhP concept? I would like to know the maintenance life cycle and the impact on our environment.
Yes. http://Service.sap.com/erp-ehp is the place where you can get all the infromation and document.

  • IW31/32/33 screen size reduced/shrinked after EHP upgrade

    Hi!
After an ECC6 EHP upgrade our maintenance order screen's size has been reduced, for some unknown reason.
Is there a way (customizing, setting, etc) to increase it's size back to the old size? At the moment the users have to scroll down to see the technical location or the equipment.
Changing the screen's resolution or resizing the window help a bit, but not much...
At the moment it seem like this (I highlighted with yellow the empty places, which was not empty before the upgrade):
    Thank you
    Tamas

    Check this SAP note.

  • MSSQL 2008 - Database size getting smaller after EHP upgrade??

    Hi All,
Did anyone observe the DB size of MSSQL 2008 after EHP upgrade?
In my two system, after upgraded to EHP5 and EHP2 respectively, the database is getting smaller compare to before upgrade, estimated 5-10gb.
EHP upgrade is unlike DBEXPORT, it shouldn't have any reorganization features and so do MSSQL.
    Any idea?
    Cheers,
    Nicholas Chang

    > Right after upgrade is smaller and after sgen, db size is bigger than source.
    So it's ok.
    > As system was upgrade from ECC6 to EHP5 with Central Application, HCM and Finance .... the after upgrade size should bigger than the source even before SGEN. Your kind input is mostly welcome.
If the source system was compiled completely (using SGEN) then you need to compare the sizes of the target system also, otherwise you compare apple with pies.
Another reason may be that index compression was activated:
Note 1459005 - Enabling index compression for SQL Server
You could now upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 and apply
Note 1488135 - Database compression for SQL Server
    this will save additional space (30 - 50 %).

  • Database history growth not updating after EHP upgrade

    Hi All,
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 (731 - SP09 )  & DB2 Fix pack 5 version.Database history growth not updating after EHP upgrade. I have check  collector job running fin and DB tab > Configuration > Data Collection Framework > Configuration Collector are in green status.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards,

    Hi MK,
    You can try few things:
    1. Check to collector standard job like SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR should be running succesfully.
2.If you can check to data collector collection interval column , you will find it to be Not Schedule.
    Try with Repair all collector.
To make it work properly you have to perform
    Data Collection Full
    Data Collection Incremental

  • Impact to existing Software Component during EHP upgrade

    Hello Friends,
I have the below query with regard to Enhancement Pack Upgrade from EHP5 to EHP6.
    Our Current set up
    ERP Version - SAP ECC 6.0, EHP5
SPS Stack 11 (Released Oct 2013)
    SAP_HR Level 69 (Released in Dec 2013)
    Proposed upgrade to
    ERP Version - SAP ECC 6.0, EHP6
SPS Stack 09 (Released in Oct 2013)
    SAP_HR Level 69 (Released in Dec 2013)
When we upgrade the system to EHP6, SPS Stack 09, what would be the impact to the SAP_HR software component which is already on SP level 69 which is released on December?
After upgrade will the SAP_HR SP level be downgraded to level 66 (released in Oct), since we are moving to SPS Stack 09 ? And are we expected to apply SAP_HR SP 67, 68 and 69 once again?
    OR
       2. Will the SAP_HR component remain at SP level 69 while rest of the system gets upgraded to EHP6 SPS Stack 09 (Oct 2013)?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ananth

    Hello Ananth,
The EHP upgrade will not downgrade the SAP_HR packages,
if stack level that has lower SAP_HR level included it will remain at current level
and apply stack level to any components lower than that so as you
describe in second part is accurate.

  • Risks for ongoing Dev-Transports during SP & EhP Upgrade

    Hello together,
We are planning at the moment a Support and EhP upgrade for our whole SAP system landscape. We have one centrally ERP 6.0 System where at the moment all affiliates will be migrated into one client. So we have ongoing Roll-Out projects until 2012. During this Roll-Outs we want to Upgrade our SAP ERP system landscape with the relevant Support Packages and EhP 5 in the mid of the next year.
My question is, how should or must we handle the transports, if we want to implement the Support Packages and EhP in parallel to the ongoing Project Transport. If there are some objects affected of new objects coming up from the EhP Packages and affected also from development-transports from the projects. I think that could be a risk that the queue in the Q-System is not valid an we get an surprise in the productive system after transporting all transports form the Support packages and EhP Packages within the Project relevant transport in the P-environment.
So, how should or must we handle the Transports during this time incl. emergency Transports to keep always a valid transport queue in the Q-System for the P-System and to avoid an overtaking of Transports.
Thanks in advance for best practice, documentation and answers.
    Best regards
    Stefan Krogmann

As long as you don't activate additional functionality in the source/DEV system transports should be smooth. However, it's always advised as with support packages installations to keep the gap between DEV/QA/PRD as short as possible.

    Hi Every one,
We have upgraded our systems from NW 7.00 to NW7.01 by EHP upgrades in all releases (Ecc,XI,SM,EP) individually. and we have been using SR3 dvds installation dvds(sapinst,uc,oclient, java etc etc) for system copies and other installation stuff. but as we have moved to NW 701 will we get any newer version DVDs for the same release.I have been searching in market place but their is no such NW 7.01 .So is this means do we still need to use same old dvds which we used for NW 7.00.

  • SAP CRM EHP upgradation

    Dear Experts,
We are planning to upgrade the CRM IDES system from EHP2 to EHP3. But when I am going to download the stack file I am getting errors. MOPZ is not calculating all the files or add-ons. Actually we installed so many add-ons like fiori, UI5, mobile add-ons etc. When we trying to download the files we are not getting whether MOPZ is calculating all the files are not. Please help in this. Please provide me any document how to work with MOPZ.
    Regards,
    Patan Thavaheer.

    Hi Patan,
Please first check your CRM system in SLD is up-to-date, also make sure the data is synced to LMDB (as in SolMan 7.1).
To do so, first run transaction RZ70 on your CRM system, then go to SolMan check SLD information.
You can wait until the data is synced from SLD to LMDB, or you can manually run report RLMDB_SYNC_TECHNICAL_SYSTEM through transaction SE38.
Then start a new Maintenance Optimizer task to verify if the problem got solved.
I only experienced similar problem due to the system information in SLD/LMDB is not up-to-dated.
    Hope this will help you.

  • R3trans Failing after SSFS Implementation during EHP Upgrade

    Hi Experts,
I would need your urgent support and advice on my current issue.
I am upgrading my ECC 6 EHP6 to EHP7. In the extraction phase the SUM stopped and asked for a manual action, where it said oracle tools are unable to connect to database and i need to implement SSFS mechanism as per note 1622837. Please find my below system details.
    SAP Version : EHP 6 NW 7.3
    Database : Oracle 11G
    OS     : Windows
I have implemented SSFS as per 1622837 and 11639578. Now my R3trans is failing i.e R3trans -d is failing but R3trans -x is success.
Somewhere i smell that it could be an authorization issue but not sure. Kindly check my attached R3trans log and dev_wo log and advice a solution ASAP. Because of this the upgrade is stuck.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Prithivi Raj

    Hi Prithvi Raj,
Check the permissions of the SSFS direcotries it should be readable by your sidadm
check the key and data file in directories
    . usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\security\rsecssfs\data
      usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\security\rsecssfs\key
    and has below environment parameters
    Profile parameter : rsdb/ssfs_connect = 1
    Environment variable:  rsdb_ssfs_connect 1
    Check this thread for reference.

  • Impact on DBM due to EHP Upgrade

Dear Experts, We are in process to upgrade EHP 6 to EHP 7.0. Will there be any impact on Dealer Business Management due to this? Currently we are using DBM 7.0 (Highest Support Package - SAPK-70005INDBM). Kindly suggest, Regards, T.R.S.Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
Refer to SAP Note 1307624 - Installing SAP DBM 7.0 on SAP ERP 6.0.
    It clearly states that following:
Compatibilty with EHP5 for SAP ERP 6.0, EHP6 for SAP ERP 6.0, EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0
DBM 700 SP01 is compatible with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5.An ACP is also created for the same:
    1. DBM=======700. This ACP is part of DBM 700 SP03.
    2. DBM 700 SP05 is compatible with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP6.
    3. DBM 700 SP07 is compatible with EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0
Thus if you are upgrading you ERP to EHP7.0 then it is recommended that your DBM 7.0 version is upgraded to SP07.
Please check your existing support pack level of SAP DBM 7.0 & proceed accordingly.
