EHP (Enhancement pack)

Hi.
How would you like to describe EHP.
Is it an upgrade or just increased / new functionality?
I have also heard that if you read in the EHP4 and not activated anything you still have to test your system because something will happend anyway. I will say that is a little bit scary.
BR  //  Peter B

Hello Peter,
according to the communication and presentation of sap an EhP is no upgrade and if you do not switch the business functions on nothing will change.
So far for theory and marketing.
Implementing an enhancement package is a change of the system. If you go for EhP4 it even includes the EhP1 for basis within the patch stack increasing the basis release from 7.00 to 7.01. In addition so far none of the EhPs I know worked without instant implementing support packages for it.
As you have to do a regression test when implementing support packages to ensure everything is still working well and noone change functions no matter this should never happen in a SP, you will have to test the system after implementing an EhP even if you do not switchon  any business function. Depending on the application areas you are using you should prepare for adjustments, e.g. we encountered changes in the web dynpro ui through basis support packages. Interfaces changed, themes were no longer working properly.
Most of my customer decided for themselves that implementing an EhP is in their understanding an upgrade and they run the former upgrade procedures alike.
Kind Regards
Roman

  • Ecc 6.0 enhancement pack 5 - incompletion procedure VL10

    We loaded ecc60 a few years ago.  We just loaded enhancement pack 5 onto sandbox.  I am having issues with delivery processing.  While creating a delivery either from VL10H or VL01N I have to step through the incompletion log step by step to have the delivery save in the system.  If I do not look at every incompletion, the save does give me a doc number but when I go back into it it is not there.  None of these incompletion steps currently show up in delivery processing if they are not filled in. (picking time,, loading time, volume, etc).  They are not warnings in our PRD system currently.  Has anyone seen this and anyone have suggestions on how to resolve with this enhancement pack?  I see no notes here or on OSS for this.
    Thanks for any help.
    Susan

    Hi,
    We just did a EHP 5 upgrade and after that we found lot of issues in the DN creation area! one was, when you create a DN revesal via VL09 transaction, the document flow is not updated. As well as you get a error in the VL09.
    If the credit mamangement is active, your schedule lines are getting doubled in the DN picking screen.  Therefore I would suggest you to check for OSS notes.

  • Enhancement pack for enterprise portal

    Hi,
    How do I identify the enhancement pack for enterprise portal?
    Also where is the information on the new features in the EHP 3 for portal listed?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mahantesh

    Hi Mahantesh,
    Please remember that the Portal is part of the SAP NetWeaver, so all the improvements will be contained in the EhP for NetWeaver.
    I'd like to refer you to the SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 page here in SDN
    at:
    SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
    There you will get all the information about your request.
    It's very important to remark the following information:
    - This EhP for NetWeaver is not in General Availability, currently is in the RampUp phase, for more details you can check the RampUp page in the SAP Service Marketplace (login required) at: http://service.sap.com/rampup
    - Certain pre-requisites apply (like Support Packages)
    - To get this Enhancement Package you have two options, apply for the RampUp (you have to be in touch with your local subsidiary for details)  or wait for the official release. All the information about dates and procedures are fully mentioned in the links provided before.
    I hope you find this information useful.
    Kind Regards,
    Luis

  • GTS 8.0 with ECC Enhancment Pack 4 SP2

    Hello-
    We've recently upgraded our ECC system to Enhancement Pack 4, SP2. We'd like to install GTS 8.0, however I'm unable to find the requirements for GTS 8.0 in enhancement pack terms. I'm only able to find that it requires SPS16, which I'm not able to find any comparisions relating SPS16 to Ehp4 SP2 to see how they stack up.
    Basically, can anybody find or refer me to material for GTS requirements in terms after Enhancement Pack 4? Or a note that compares SPS to EhP versions?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
    SAP note 1266777 provides the information on installation of GTS on ECC with Enhancement Pack.
    Best regards,
    Howard

  • Impact of enhancement pack 3 on ECC

    Hi,
    can you please explain what are the impacts of enhancement Pack 3 on the SAP ECC server, and how if we migrate to EHP-3.
    thanks
    Regards
    SR

    Syed,
    The question you have asked is more from a technical point of view...I'll put this into a laymen language
    let's say..your organization is currently running on IS Oil and wants to use certain feature of IS Health Care or IS Media...so instead of installing the whole package, only that part will be activated; now if that feature can be met by say installing EhP3...the Basis guy needs to ensure that he has install and fulfill the technical requirements first..then only from the functional side you will be able to activate and use the feature.
    one note of caution: Once activated, you can not switch off this functionality
    SAP Notes are there with all the information and the prerequisites for installation.
    You can check that on [www.service.sap.com|www.service.sap.com]

  • New/enhanced datasources in ERP 60 enhancement packs

    Hi,
    I have reviewed a lot of the online documentation on Service Marketplace and SDN, but still have the following open question:
    Is there a comprehensive list of all new SAP ERP datasources, or enhancements to existing datasources, that are available in ERP 60 enhancement packs 1, 2, 3 and 4?
    Where can I find this list?
    Again, I'm aware of the wealth of documentation on EHPs, but I can't seem to find a quick list of the BI datasource changes for EHPs.

  • Enhancement pack 1 - ABAP 7.0 Preview AS

    Hi
    Is it possible to install EhP 1 on the preview version of the ABAP stack? I wish  to gain access to the new ?Flash Islands technology.
    Cheers
    Ian

    Yes, it is.  Enhancement Pack 1 is simply another SP level, so it is the same as doing a regular SP upgrade.  You can follow Thomas' directions in these videos .
    Apply Support Packages to the SDN ABAP-AS Sneak Preview

  • HR enhancement packs ECC 6 with Oracle

    Hi There!
    I need some assistance to trying to find the EHP's for HR. i have downloaded the EA-HR and SAP HR support packs to level 35 to get it to the right level but i am having difficulties in trying to find the EHPs and EHP support packs. According to note 1061967 I can only get EHP stack 2 becuase for stack 3 the EHP support packs 4 to 7 are not available so i think its pointless getting stack 3.
    I need to find the EHP HRSPs which i cannot find them and nor can i find the EHP SPs. I cannot find a oss note that references the location where to find them, i have searched marketplace in every way possible and used Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer but it cannot find them. Can anyone please help me in trying to find them?
    your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mani

    use MOPZ, choose old system and select upgrade and it should give option to select EHP's

  • PI 7.1 Enhancement pack 8: still error when referencing java class in xslt

    Hi
    I am getting an error in PI 7.1 EP 8 Repository when I try to use an xslt in which I make a reference to a java class. The error is:
    Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT XCBL_invoice_stylesheet.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet
    I use this xslt:
    <xsl:template match="/" xmlns:util="dk.dongenergy.pi.mapping.Utilities_datetime">
              <html>
    <B><xsl:text>Received: </xsl:text><xsl:value-of select="util:getCurrentDateTimeFormatted()"/>
    I have imported the java archive successfully and it is working in XI 3.0 and it is working if I comment out the reference to the java class in the xslt.
    the java class looks like this:
    package dk.dongenergy.pi.mapping;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.Date;
    public class Utilities_datetime {
    *     public static String getCurrentDateTimeFormatted() {*
    *          Date now = new Date();*
    *          SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss");*
    *         return formatter.format(now);*
    We have applied enhancement pack 8 on PI 7.1 as suggewsted in this note, but that has not done the trick:

  • Purchase requisition document type change after Enhancement pack 4

    HI,
    we have recently upgraded to enhancement pack 4, after which i am not able to change purchase requisition document type.
    In change mode ME52N, the system is allowing to make change but when i goback and display the same PR again the change is not visible in change history also.
    I am able to make other changes. facing the problem with change in document type only.
    Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi,
    One thing please note that once you select the document type and draft the PR and save the PR, you will  get the doc number.
    Once you get the document number you cannot change the PR document type .
    The reason is document type is linked with number range so it cannot be changed because different seriers of document number is assined to differentdocument type.
    And moreover document type is linked with the screen settings also. So I would request you to check the settings for each doc. type

  • How to print company logo in Excel/ PDF after Enhancement Pack 1?

    Hi all,
    I realise this topic has come up time and time again but apparently this functionality has changed after Enhancement Pack 1 for BW....?
    My problem is simple.  I have a series of reports on our portal, formatted using the WAD, and there is a company logo on the reports.  When exporting to PDF or excel, the logo disappears.
    The SAP documentation states that the addition of the logo when exporting was not available previously, but it was planned, and seemed to imply that this would be possible in EHP1.
    We have just applied EHP1 to our test system however I cannot find how to switch on this functionality or how to get the logo onto the exported reports.  I can't find any documentation on how to do this.
    Is anyone else using this after applying EHP1?  Is anyone from SAP reading who can tell me where this functionality is??
    Thanks!
    Mischa

    Thanks but this doesn't work.  It works exactly as it did before the Enhancement Pack and doesn't automatically display the image.
    So I guess I am missing something - my image is a bmp. file, will this work or should I save it as something else?
    Are there any settings in the WAD (either in the Web Template itself or on the button to export) which I need to change to be able to display this logo?
    Or are there any settings I need to make in the backend of BW after the application of the Enhancement Pack?
    Any more ideas please?
    Thanks
    Mischa

  • RFx Response Submission Outside Firewall in SRM 7 Enhancement pack 1.

    Dear Experts,
    As you know, the bid response part has been moved to SUS in srm 7 enhancement pack 1 to enable the suppliers to respond to bid invitation from SUS system itself.
    Does it mean that the  suppliers cannot respond to bid invitation in SRM server directly or there is an option for customers to activate the customizing switch for that?
    SUS system may not be used by all suppliers of a buyer.
    Could you please throw some light on it?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi Ranjan,
    Option on if you want the bidder to create response in SRM or SUS is controlled in the transaction type with a field called Bid system
    Here choose External supplier system or  Internal SAP SRM system.
    When you create an RFX you will have a field called Bidder system where you choose External supplier system or Internal SAP SRM system. This field be already populated depending on what is set in your transaction.
    Here External supplier system will be your SUS (decoupled concept) and Internal SAP SRM system will be EBP (normal sourcing)
    Regards
    Sam
