EHS and DMS

Dear Experts,
In transaction EHSAMBTAET, "Documents" tab, I need to know where values in fields "Object type" and "Object" are coming from.
In other words, I need to know in which DB tables are stored the links between Documents and Medical Services/Persons.
I have tried to find the related DB tab in several ways but without any success.
Could you please help me?
Thank you very much
Regards

Hi,
The document is in DRAW table, but it is not in DRAD. I think EHS does not use the standard DMS linking in this case, so the link can’t be found in any DMS table, and the link type cannot be found in TC dc10.
The system uses standard FMs ”EHS00_DMS_*” to open, close, and retrieve documents linked to medical services and persons. So at low level, these FMs must be accessing to the tables I’m looking for, but after several debugging hours and google search, I couldn’t find it and finally decided to post this message.
Thanks for your comments,
Kind regards,

  • Solution Manager and DMS

    Hi,
Am pretty confused between use of Solution Manager and DMS.Can they be used interchageably? What are the differences

    Hi Gopal,
Presume DMS is something you are already familiar with. Hence wont go into the details.
The SAP Solution Manager, on the other hand, is a platform which provides integrated support of the life-cycle of a business solution, from the Business Blueprint via configuration to production operation. The SAP Solution Manager provides central access to tools, methods and preconfigured contents, which you can use during the evaluation and implementation, as well as in operation processing of your systems.
The SAP Solution Manager also provides an authoring function, with which you can create your own project templates, which you reuse in an implementation. The SAP Solution Manager is thus also a tool for SAP partners and companies performing a global rollout.
Hope this sets in the required clarity.

  • CFolders and DMS Integration

    Hi,
At present we have DMS. We are going in for cFolders now.
How do we integrate cFolders and DMS? What are the pre-requisites / configurations needed?
Where can I find the related documents?
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi,
please check the cFolders configuration guide (for release 4.0, the guide is also attached in note 973764), chapter u2018cFolders Back-End Integrationu2019 or the Online Help in the SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/ > SAP ERP > SAP cProject Suite > Project and Portfolio Management XX > Design Collaboration with cFolders > cFolders Functions > cFolders Back-End Integration.
For example, you can use the back-end integration for cFolders to exchange DMS documents. In the DMS system (or so-called back-end system), use transaction CFE02 to export DMS documents to cFolders and CFI01 to import documents from cFolders into DMS.
Please read the above documentations to see the system and installation requirements.
Besides creating a RFC destination in transaction sm59, you need to maintain the backend system using transaction CFC01 in the DMS system. At least one cFolders system must be defined in the customizing before backend integration can be used.
In order to allow the user to create new documents in cFolders, he/she needs write and create authorization in the relevant folder.

    Silvia

  • Content Manager and DMS

    Hi,
I have only had a high level understanding of Content Management up until now.  I am currently planning for the storage of CAD, PDF, and Microsoft files for our ECC environment.  We are running ECC 6.0.  We are planning on using KPro to connect to the content server to retrieve the files.  I have reviewed the help on Content Server 6.3 and how that is suppose to be installed and configured.  I am not sure how DMS fits into the architecture, does it?
Can you use DMS instead of a seperate content manager server or do they work together?
Can Content Server be installed on and ECC server or must it be on seperate hardware.  I was thinking it would be best to have a development content server to test with and a production content server.  (If I need a content server at all).  If I have to build a content server for development can it share hardware since it will not do very much... only for testing.
Any assistance on this architecture would be great.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,
You are thinking on right track. Any Pc you can take and make it as a development content server and one important thing, K-Pro and DMS both are different thing. In DMS you can store your documents either in K-Pro or SAP standard server, which can again make it down. So to make use of K-Pro server is best option along with DMS.

  • ADF Mobile application and DMS synchronization

    Hi all,
I'm working on a demo based on a multi-platform mobile application working mostly offline (using a local database which must be manually synced when the device is online).
I've started watching at ADF Mobile Framework and Oracle Database Mobile Server.
Now I'm a little confused about how these two components interact each others.
Looking at some video/documentation I see that using ADF MF I can create a mobile APP for iOS/Android writing pure java code. Then I can deploy the application using a deployment profile to obtain my application, ready to be installed on my device.
The question is, how my mobile app can be kept synced to a MW running DMS?
I've read Invoking Synchronization in Applications With the Mobile Sync APIs,  Using an Android Application on the SQLite Mobile Client , Integrate ADFm applications into Database Mobile Server
but I didn't get how that is supposed to work.
It seems like I have to add osync_me.jar library to my project, set parameters for my ose.ini file (using SetParam.run) then create a OSESession and use sync() method. This is supposed to get from DMS delta modification and put into it my modifications performed locally.
That's it? Do I need something more?
Here How to Integrate Oracle Adf Mobile App and DMS? there's a very similar question without public response, is there any detailed documentation about this topic?
    thank you all

    Thank you for the answer.
The link you suggested is the one where I've found http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/database-mobile-server/documentation/dmstoadfm-2228124.pdf
Looking at that document it seems I should import libraries, edit programmatically ose.ini and than invoke OSESession.sync() using my user e pass as stated in my previous post, and everything is supposed to work fine.
But I'm a bit confused because looking at more tutorials and documentation I saw more steps like application publication through mobile server (packaging wizard), installation of oracle update app on mobile device and so on... and I didn't get what these steps are useful for and if they are mandatory for ADFm developed app too? (I'm referring to Database Mobile Server Demonstration - YouTube for example)
    Thank you

  • External Documents and DMS

    Hi All,
Scenario : Our Business requirement is that an external guy shall be uploading documents through SAP EP. which has to come and sit in DMS. Can anyone throw some light on this scenario and give me some best practices on how to about desigining this. Also One more question is can we push documents between KM and DMS.
    Points would be rewarded!!
    Krishna

    Nitin,
Thanks for the Prompt reply. Do you have any documentation around this area that can give me some inputs as to how to go about this design. At this time we are planning to do it with a BAPI call which would create a DIR in the DMS area once the external guy uploads a document in the SAP EP. Also it would be good if you discuss the hassles in going with CFOLDERS and SAP DMS and uploading the documents from EP.
    Points would be rewarded!!

  • Link between table EKKO-EBELN and DMS - Document Management System

    Hi to all,
I wanted to know the form to connect or link the Document Info Record (inside "Define Object Link") to object DRAW (DMS) with table EKKO-EBELN (order head). In standard form it is possible to do it with EKPO (Purchase order item) This is in transaction DC10 Define Object Link.
    Thanks!
    Greetings
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
Within table DRAD you can see all linked objects to a specific document info record (DIR).
To be able to link objects to DIRs you have to maintain the correct objects in customizing.
First of it is necessary to maintain the correct screen numbers for all needed objects within the customizing. Therefore go to transaction SPRO and select
    Cross-Application Components
    > Document Management
    > Control Data
    > Maintain Screen for Object Link
Here you can enter all needed SAP objects with the name and
the related screen number. If you do not know the object or the screen number you can display a list of all SAP standard objects in transaction SE80 under function group CV130 ("Screens").
So for material master you maintain the following entry:
    SAP object Screen Description Auth.
    MARA 201 material master 1
Please note that the system automatically adds the leading "1" which is displayed in function group CV130 under
"Screens". So for object MARA you just have to enter 201 instead of 1201.
The value "1" in the column "Auth." is necessary to grant that always the latest dynpros and authorizations were used when linking this object to an document info record. This will avoid different problems by displaying linked documents from the object side.
The next step is to decide which objects should be used in the different document types. Therefore please go to transaction DC10 and choose the relevant document type. Afterwards please select "Define object links". Here you can
add all needed objects only by entering the object. The correct screen number is taken automatically. Also note the blue information buttons in the upper right corner which contain further necessary information about the possible settings of the current screen.
After doing these settings in customizing you should be able to link the maintained objects to document info records and oppositely by using the DMS transaction CV02N (tab "object links") or the object related transactions.
Important notes regarding the object link functionalities are:
Note 880077: Performance problem using object links
Note 885977: Extension to note 867241 on object links
Note 926060: Extension of note 885977 for object link Purchase Order
Note 960202: Object Links Deleted While Adding New Objects
Note 1002648: Wrong behavior while using RFC_CHANGE_DOCUMENT_MASTER

  • BSP and DMS (Document Management)

I have to develop a BSP application which provides Documents links from DMS. Is anybody know which BAPI i can use to optain relation between the material (MATERIAL_GETLIST) and the document number DOKNR ?
Is somewhere on a blog something was published about this topic ?
    Thanks a lot
    Jerome

You're right but my customer had a problem on his WAS. Bapi browser didn't work. I tried to connect the BOR with my Visual Studio and my SAPDOTNETConnector I had the same problem. So I did some zfunction on the R/3 systems all called these from my BSP application. Good way to optimize the performance...
My proof of concept was a success for my customer, and he was reinstalling a complete WAS to continue the project

  • CProjects and DMS

    Hi,
We're in the BBP phase and wondering if we are going to use DMS for structuring documents in relation to cProject. However as I can read this is more or less an object link. Is there possibilities to automatically copy the cProjects structure into a DMS structure?
When using easy document management it is possible to a link from the document to project definition level and tasks in cProjects?
All relevant documentation and desciptions are interesting!!!

This is the procedure for transferring documents from cProjects to SAP DMS
    1) In the project type definition in the back end, select the check box for SAP DMS
    2) Ensure that you have specified the RFC destination for the sytem to which you have to transfer the documents by using transaction SM59
    3) For the document type that you would be using, include the object link DPR_OBJLINK inside the configuration for document type
    4) Once you log into cProjects you can find the tab SAP DMS .
    5) You can continue creating the document info record once you are inside SAP DMS
    6) You can upload the document of the type for which you had defined the object link DPR_OBJLINK
    7) Once steps 5 -6 are done you can view the document inside SAP DMS
P.S. Please kindly give me points if you find the answer useful
    cheers

  • DMS Connector and DMS Search Problem

    Hi all,
We have a requirement of connectiing DMS with KM.I have installed DMS Business Package and Configured Repository Manager. Here are the Details
    Description: DMS Repository Manager
    Prefix (must start with /):/dmsrm
    Repository Services:comment,discussion,feedback,layout,personalnote,properties,rating,statemngt
Property Search Manager:< If i set this too CM Search Manager,in Document Explorer it is throwing an error "Uable to find the Repository Manager"
    Versioning Manager:Blank
    Security Manager:    Not Set
    ACL Manager Cache:   Not Set
    Windows Landscape System:   Blank
    Lock Manager:   com.sap.pct.plm.dmsrmconnectorforkm.DMSRMMutableLockManager

    ShowClassification:   Yes
    ShowObjectsLinks:   Yes
    ResourceValidity:   30000
    StorageCategory:   ZHTTPPRD
    SystemAlias:   SAP_DMS
    VariantPrefix:   KM
Now if i dont set the Property search Manager,i can bring all the documents from DMS system. But iam not able to search the document, while indexing it is throwing an error (Retrieval Error).
If i set the Property search manager,In document Explorer it is throwing an error ( Unable to find the repository Manager).
Anybody having any clue on this,Plz do give me a solution for this.
    Will reward with the Points.
    Regards
    Santosh Saraf

    Hi John,
the performance issue is not the TREX search. In most cases it takes long time to check if the user have at least read permissions to the document listed in the search result list. That's why it takes more time to display 20 hits than 5 hits.
Using more or less repository services doesn't change ther performance for the search result.
Using a user with Content Administrator permission must have the best performance because in this case ther document permissions are not checked.
To improve the performance you can try to use a ACL cache or increase the size of the ACL cache.
    Best Regards
    Frank
