EHS BPX

Hi,
Is there any interest to start EHS (Environment, health and safety) BPX forum to discuss on innovation in SAP EHS business processes.

I would like to see a EHS forum my self.
While we are at it any one know how to work with phrase sets in EHS.    I need to assign some phases to the RDGMDIOT PDGNUD field of the DG master record, t code DGP1 or DGP2
Basically you enter the UN number and the Phrase set then pulls the Description for that UN number.
Thanks

  • Have you officially joined BPX?  How many people have you invited?

For those who are watching the Business Process Expert "general discussion" forum:
The first question is: <b>Have you officially joined the BPX Community here? </b>
If so, <u>thank you</u>.  You are one of the 8,328 people who have already joined in only the first four weeks of this community being available.  Note, too, that we're still in "sneak preview" mode so we haven't even done any announcements or awareness campaigns!  You're in on the "ground floor" with visionaries and leaders.
If you're not an official member yet, please join ... just go to the top of the page in the header under "Profile Management," see the category for "Update Profile," and check the box at the very bottom of that page that says "I would like to join the new Business Process Expert (BPX) Community."  Of course it's free and you get the benefits of posting forum questions and answers, blogging, etc. etc.
Please also sign-up for the newsletter while you're already on that page.  More than 100,000 people already subscribe and find it valuable.  We send a newsletter approximately every two weeks to highlight just a few of the new items and topics -- mostly as a reminder to return to the online community area(s) if you're not already in the good habit of doing so.
Second question is: <b>How many people have you referred to this new community with the recommendation to join?</b>
If you've invited at least three people who have joined, then "<u>thank you</u>!"  If they are new members of BPX and SDN (and if they used your name/email as a referrer when they joined), then you received award points as our thanks.
If you haven't yet invited at least three colleagues to join, please do so.  We think it'll help them in their jobs and careers, and we think it'll help you in your work with them (they're smarter, better informed, on the same page with their colleagues -- including you...).
Thank you for your membership, participation, and for spreading the word.
    Mark Y.

I have had numerous issues. Originally, I couldn't get video to work at all in Leopard (worked fine in Tiger). I just recently did all of the following things:
    Set QT STreaming to 1.5
Set bandwidth (in iChat) to 500kbps (Comcast)
Deleted iChat prefs and ichatagent prefs
Set parallels network to "host only" (was on shared)
    Reset PRAM
Reset security port to 443 (in iChat prefs, server settings)
    Restart iChat (obviously)
Right now, all of my buddies are currently offline, but I did test with apple's auto-bots and interestingly, I'm getting video to work with appleu3test01 and appleu3test03, but I get the same connection problem as before with appleu3test02 ("There was a communication error during your chat"). I'm curious what's different about this bot's settings. I'll report more when I get to test with a real person.

  • E-Recruitment  and EHS - tables are missing ECC 6.0

    Hello All,
We have recently noticed that we have tables missing in our  SAP HCM and our EHS(Employe Health and Safety) Development Box.  I am attaching the list of tables for review by all.  Can someone tell me, please, if they know what these tables are for and if they are part of a note or submodule running off main modules for E-Recruitment and EHS.  I checked notes in OSS but cannot find the tables for the EHS or E-RC modules.
We cannot find these tables listed anywhere.  We are using ECC 6.0 and the BB installlment was for N. America.
    <b>EH&S Tables</b>
CCRCC_CHCK_ON - EHS: Online Checks for Regulation/Scenario/Scenario Category
CCRCC_DET - EHS: Data Determination Modules per Regulation/Scenario
    CCRCC_DETDOCTYPE - EHS: Modules for Regulation/Scenario/Scenario Category
CCRCC_EXCHG - EHS: Data Transfer from and to EH&S
    CCRCC_FILTER - EHS: Data Filtering
CCRCC_LIMITG - EHS: General Quantity Restriction
CCRCC_LIMITS - EHS: Relative Quantity Restriction
    CCRCC_MON - EHS: Monitoring Settings
    CCRCC_PERIOD - EHS: Period Definition
    CCRCC_SCENTYPE - EHS: Scenario-to-Scenario-Category Assignment
    <b>ERECRUIT - PA-ER - E-Recruiting</b>
T77RCF_INCL2FORM - Assignment of Text Element to Smart Form Template
    T77RCF_WL - Worklist
T77RCF_WLA_IDXGR - Index Group for Worklists
T77RCF_WL_ACT_P - Action Profile of Worklists
    T77RCF_WL_OUT_P - Output Profile
T77RCF_WL_SEL_P - Selection Profile for Worklists
T77RCF_WL_SEL_PV - Values for Selection Profiles in Worklists
    Points awarded!!

    Hello Brenda,
I cannot speak for the EHS stuff but the tables you mentioned for E-Recruiting are part of the functional enhancements for e-recruiting 600 delivered with e-recruiting servie pack 7.
E-recruiting delivered 2 service packs which implmented new functioons. These were the e-recruiting packs 5 and 7. Futere enhancements will be delivered with the standard EhP (enhancement package) szenario - first of them is EhP3 for e-recruiting awaylable today if i remémber the schedules correctly..
You are probably missing these tables as you do not have installed the packages yet - so check your sp level. I strongly recommend you to upgrade to the newest service pack 11 for e-recruiting especially if you use / plan to use the webdynpro candidate frontend. But also for other implementation szenarios the sps are very urgent.
    For the table in detail:
T77RCF_INCL2FORM - is a tablke for the new letter / correspondence change functionality using a dedicated changable text area in the smartform whixh has the advantage towards the old solution that changed correspondence can be printed propperly.
All other tables are part of the so called dashboard functionality.
You can find additional information on these functional enhancements in the software download centered of the sapnet under "Installations and Upgrades" -> "SAP Application Components" -> "SAP ERP" -> "SAP ERP 2005" -> "Documentation".

  • Issue found in EHS in using specification data import using  process

    Dear EHS community
Now using EHS classic for a long time a issue has been detected in EHS standard import. During maintenance of EHS data normally using CG02 the system is always using the default "Data origin" specified in customizing to be stored in EHS tables (e.g. ESTRH, ESTRI etc.). In standard process to import specification data one can define a different "Data origin". Now we are using an import file with default" data origin and executed the import. Now a strange effect has been detected (and not always) for update of identifiers. For the import purpose you must nominate at least one identifier. If the identifier is found then normally no update happens but only the value assignment data is inserted (or updated). If the identifier is not found it get be inserted on spec level in ESTRI. Now during the update the "Data origin" of the identifier present in the system (and which matched to identifier on file level) was changed but not the identifier as such. Any data record on value assignment level received the defautl data origin. Actually there is no explanation for this behaviour. If Default "Data origin" would be "SAP" (as the term) this value has been change to "Space". Any explanation of this effect is appreciated (or and idea regarding that).
    C.B.
    PS: analysis of change logs in EHS etc. executed so far clearly indictae that an "Update" happened on the identifier; but only the field SRSID is effected; EHS import is quite old and therefore very stable;
PPS: I found a thread taking about the import file:
    spec import_inheritance data
    Example shown thre is like:
    +BS
    +BV   $ESTRH
    SRSID                          EH&S
    SUBID                          000000385000
    SUBCAT                         REAL_SUB
    AUTHGRP                        EHS_PS
    +EV
    +BV   $ESTRI
    SRSID                          EH&S
    IDTYPE                         NAM
    IDCAT                          EHS_OLD
    IDENT                          XY0002
    ORD                            0001
    +EV
    +BV   SAP_EHS_1013_001
    $ESTVA-SRSID                   EH&S
    SAP_EHS_1013_001_VALUE         N09.00101280
    +EV
If you compare SAP helpt normally only at the"begining pof the file you will find "SRSID" Here this field is nominated often. On Level of ESTRH as well as ESTRI.
PPS: e.g. refer to: TCG56 EHS: Data Origin - SAP Table - ABAP

    Dear Ralph
first thanks for feedback. Regarding content provider: we need to check that on deeper level
Regarding import may be my explanation was not good enough.
    Imagine this case:
you have a specification in the system there you would like to add e.g. denisity data.. To do so you need at least one identifier which you must nominate during the import. As long as this identifier is "identical" in system and in the file this identifier should not be "changed/effected" etc. and only the additional data should be loaded, This was the process we used. Now we detected that this seems not to be the real effect. The identifier as part of the file is "updated" in EH&S. In the example above somebody used this logic:
    +BV   $ESTRI
    SRSID                          EH&S
    IDTYPE                         NAM
    IDCAT                          EHS_OLD
    IDENT                          XY0002
    ORD                            0001
    +EV
Nearly the same is used in our process. Only difference ist, that we do not define the "SRSID". The same is true for any other data in the file. SRSID is nether specified.
    What is happing now:
e.g. the "density" data is added with SRSID "EH&S". This effect is "normal". As by default SRSID should be EH&S (as this is defined as such in customizing) and because of the fact that at the top the ID is es well "EH&S". In the system we have the "XY0002" having SRSID EH&S. By using now this upload approach the only difference afterwards is tht kin th systeM; XY0002 does get "blank" as SRSID (and there is no data origin "blank" defined. Up to today my unertsanding was clearly: no update should happen in the identifier. This seems not to be the case. Is my understanding here different? Or is this SRSID in the load file is really mandatory in ESTRI level to avoid this effect. I hope that you can provide some feedback regarding this.
    C.B.
PS: referring to: Example: Transfer File for Specifications - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library
The header of import file should look like:
    Comment
    +C
    Administrative section
    Character standard
    +SC
    ISO-R/3
    Identification (database name)
    +ID
    IUCLID
    Format version
    +V
    2.21
    Export date
    +D
    19960304
    Key date for export
    +VD
    19960304
    Set languages for export
    +SL
    E
    Date format
    +DF
    DD.MM.YYYY
IN our case +ID = EH&S (as this is the value in export file)
IN this example this additional one is shown:
    Begin table
    +BV
    $ESTRI
      Table field
    IDTYPE
    NAM
      Table field
    IDCAT
    IUPAC
      Table field
    IDENT
    anisole
      Table field
    LANGU
    E
      Table field
    OWNID
    ID1
Therefore no SRSID is specified. And this is the data in our file (on high level) and the "only" change is that the identifer get "deleted" the SRSID

  • How to create an EHS Work Area on Company Code level?

    Hi,
Is it possible to create work area on company level?
(In CBIH02 the EHS work area can only be created within a Plant)
I had a look at the following transactions related to link a work area to Organization Management, I'm really
confused and have no idea how to realize it.
Path: EHS > Industrial Hygiene and Safety > Work Area > Link to Organizational Mangement
    PPSC - Create Structures
    PPSM - Edit Structures
    PPME - Edit Matrixes
    Help is much appreciated.
    Roy Derks

    Hi Roy,
I doubt on Company Level. As work Area's standard hierarchy goes like that - Work Area -- Plant -- Location -- Production Process -- Activity -- Machine -- Task.
I would revert back if I could get something.

  • Archiving EHS document with ADK

    Dear all,
I am running ECC 5.0.  I am trying to archive EHS documents with ADK using the object CV_DVS. I am following the documentation from IMG, Under the step "Check Document Types and Document Statues" I create the status HI, AL and AR for the document type SBR.  I ran the preprocessing step for CV_DVS and I get nothing to archive.  I check the log and here is the message.
    Job started
    Step 001 started (Program RC1_DVSARCH_PREP, variant TEST1)
    Change report bodies:
Report DW_PERFORMI XXX_US_SDS E 00002 is not archived; document for report missing in SAP database
The status you enter does not exist
The status you enter does not exist
No reports were set to the status "Archiving is Running (AL)'
    Job finished.
I just wonder have anyone using CV_DVS to archive those MSDS reports and would like to know how do you configure
"check document types and document statuses"? it seems something is missing in my ECC 5.0 default configuration for the table.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
As you experienced all DIALOG function modules will not work in Batch because the is no connection with a frontend (PC).
You have to get your PDF on a server so you can process them in Batch.
Maybe you can than use the FM: ALINK_DOCUMENTS_CREATE_FILE
    Success,

  • Screen samples for EHS Management tool

    Hello EHS gurus:
Can someone tell me where I can see some sample screens and steps in the EHS Management tool program?
    Regards,

    Hello
first of all: what do you mean with "EHS Management tool program"?? SAP is not using this term.
SAP uses the term "SAP EHS Management". If you take a look on SAP pages then SAP Management does mean a number of applications which are grouped. Therefore this is not "one" program but many.
    PLease refer to e.g.
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/corporate_services/ehs/index.epx#
    http://help.sap.com/content/documentation/sbs/docu_sbs_ehs.htm
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/corporate_services/ehs/features-functions/environmental-compliance-software/index.epx
Take a look as an add on SAP pages using the term "sustainibility".
    second:
Sorry: Best options is to prepare a SAP IDES system to get an idea about EHS Management. and the screens etc.
Another option is to get training from SAP. Be aware of the fact that to my knowledge there are not so many SAP locations there you can get training

PPS: please make a survey in this FORUM using the term "Best practise" & EH&S". SAP is providing Best practise Solutions in the area of EHS (refer to SAP marketplace etc.).

  • Is a BPX a Process Steward?

My colleague Aiaz Kazi forwarded this to us:
    <a href="http://jkobielus.blogspot.com/">James Kobielus' Blog</a>
The piece Aiaz highlighted, was a discussion he had with the blogger who calls the BPX a Process Steward.  I've quoted it below as it speaks to the role definition "grappling" we are working through here on this forum.
Your comments about this are welcome.
"I had a discussion on this same topic yesterday with Aiaz Kazi of SAP, here at SAPPHIRE ’06 in Orlando. Many of their customers are grappling with the proper definition of the diverse roles in governance of SOA that leverages SAP’s Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA), which is implemented in its NetWeaver platform components, mySAP applications, and diverse composite, vertical, and horizontal apps and business processes.
What Aiaz was describing is a new SOA governance design-time role that sits halfway between the IT process architects and the business process analysts (i.e., the tech and business wonks who use their respective visual development and flowcharting tools to specify SOA-enabled business processes at various levels). This intermediate role essentially catalyzes consensus between the business process analysts and the IT process analysts concerning the eventual process, but doesn’t actually get involved in the fine-grained architecting of the processes.
Instead, this role is more of a “process steward” (my term) who makes sure, whatever new process emerges, that it reuses existing business processes to the maximum extent feasible. The process steward cracks the whip and just says no when IT process architects and business analysts attempt to create new, end-to-end, stovepipe workflows that overlap with existing processes, either in their entirety or in significant roles, routes, and/or rules.
In other words, the process steward role enforces reuse of existing business processes—SOA-style—when developing new processes. The process steward oversees the SOA governance process—the design-time workflow or collaborative process--under which business governance structures—as defined by IT process and business process architects—are crafted, revised, and optimized."

with German (or to be more precise Austrian) as my native langugage I seem to fail to assess the full meaning of the term 'steward' and maybe just because of this feel uncomfortable with it.
To me 'process steward' sounds as it were some subordinate role, something like governanvce accountant, someone counting reuse numbers, annoying both the business analyst and the IT architect.
Nevertheless I like the idea of
<i>This intermediate role essentially catalyzes consensus between the business process analysts and the IT process analysts concerning the eventual process, but doesn’t actually get involved in the fine-grained architecting of the processes.
    </i>.
Therefore I'd coin this role a <b>process mediator</b>, someone who gets IT, business analysts and users together and helps them to reach a common understanding and if necessary mediates with respect to different perceptions, requirements, levels of knowledge and most notably ontologies.
    just my 2 thoughts,
    anton
