I would like to know if we need to do some support package before going for an EH&S project ? I don't think and the support level package seems to be enough for a Sap EHS implementation
Thank you in advance for your answers

Gregory
SAP EHS Consultant

Hello Gregory
you are using (or your customer) an SAP System which is called "SAP Enterprise 4.7 Extension Set 2.0"
You have the basic SAP installation here:
SAP_BASIS 620 62 Composante de base SAP
SAP_ABA 620 62 Composante inter-applications
SAP_APPL 470 28 Logistique et gestion comptable
and the EH&S installation here:
EA-APPL 200 13 SAP R/3 Enterprise AddOn PLM, SCM, Financials
The answer to you question is therefore mainly "yes" this is a suitable set up to start an EH&S installation but you shoukld check the SAP Marketplace regarding new SPs. Depending on the customer needs you need to install newer SPs (i believe e.g. that EH&S SVT (new EH&S modules) comes with higher SP but i am not sure).
Furthermore the SAP Basis is "old": To my knowlege this release will no be supported any more I believe by standard SAP support starting 2010. Please check SAP Marketplace. The recent release would be:
SAP ERP 6.0 (ECC 6.0 / ERP 2005) with EnhancementPackage 4 which is still available.
Using this release either a number of SAP EH&S problems have been solved or new functionality is available in EH&S which might be of interest for your customer. In SDN Network you will find (as well as on SAP Market Place) a number of useful informations regarding this release and what is especially new in the area of EH&S.
Have a good start in you project

  • SAP EHS Functional Consultant Role

    Hi All SAP Experts!!!
Seeking help from all of you for enlighten me with inputs for enabling me to take next step as a SAP EHS Functional Consultant Role.
Quick information about myself, I am 43 year young guy, have done my Masters in Chem, Post Graduate Diploma in Safety Health and Environment, Certification in NEBOSH-International General Occupational Health & Safety, Lead Auditor of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 with 20+ years of industrial experience of implementation of Safety Health and Environmental Management in various industries (Engineering, Oil & Gas, Automobile, Automotive, Chemical, Facility Management & Infrastructure at India, Middle East, South Africa & US) by working and auditing them for respective EHS Standards.
As I have personally used and witnessed usage of many of the EHS related software which were ERP/ SAP based and found them very useful for making an fool-proof arrangement for effective EHS implementation. I did found some of the functional improvements areas during usage of the same i.e. by deploying EHS best practices I have witnessed at other industries directly or through software which will finally benefit the end-user and hence for the society too.
    Following are my queries -
    1. What can be the career path for person like me, who is having EHS functional knowledge & experience but does not have direct SAP implementation related experience and certification?
    2. What are the minimal certification and qualification I will be requiring before switching to SAP Functional Consultant Role?
    3. Who can be some of the best employer for me start this role?
Any other information, suggestions and inputs in this regards are more than welcome.
Thanking you all for the help and guidance you are going to provide.

    Dear Sameer
your questions are discussed very often in this FORUM. Hi, is such an example, but you will a lot of more similar examples.

Looking forward for your valuable suggestions please !!
Future  Scope of SD for an abaper.
    Therefore these are my hints:
Check first: SAP EHS Management for Beginners
Try to understand what SAP is doing (what means which solution exists and which solution is the right one to start with etc.).
To act a functional guy in SAP area you need basic understanding about SAP solutions.
1.) Shortly: there is no SAP certification in place for the SAP EHS solutions.
2.) Career: normally you ned first some basic SAP and SAP EHS training. The SAP training is available nearly worldwide. SAP EHS training is limited. E.g. there seems to be no  good training option available in India (has been discussed as well in this FORUM).
Based on you "starter package" (know how) the "SAP EHS end user" option may be is the best. If you know about legal aspects/regulations etc. then by working on that in a company using SAP EHS solutions you will get closer to "technique" For work in EHS environment you need to have knowledge at least in the area (as called by SAP): product safety, dangerous goods management; as these are the "core" topics to cover in a company handling chemistry. On the top: if you have knowledge in the area of "Label Management" or "Waste" topics then you are in good starting position.
PLease check this FORUM. A lot of more threads can be found easily may be helping you to decide to go on.
    C.B.
PS: please check first any SCN forum; it took me only "10" seconds (Ok less then one minute; but it was very easy)  to generate the list of threads as part of this thread.

  • New in EHS

    Hi,
I am SAP QM Consultant and EHS is new for me....
Can anybody send some doc.s that will help me in EHS implementation.
I am already referring SAP help.
    Thanks in advance

    hello Yogini
your last topic of your message is:
"let me know how to start with..."
I wil ltry to give you some more advice here.
EHS is part of Core ERP (ECC) application. Now a "good" approach might be to check this:
a.) which release you are using (SAP Enterprise, SAP ERP 2004 (= ECC 5.0) or SAP 2005 (= ECC 6.0) ?) because this influences a little bit the basic set up approach of EH&S
b.) check if EH&S is activated? => EH&S is an "add on" in ECC and you must "activate" it by using transaction SWF5
b.) Then depending on your SAP release (ECC 6.0 mandatory) => you can check if there is an Enhancement. Pack available in youur system or not. If so by using SWF5 you can activate the appropriate EH&S "switches". In Enh. Pack 3, 5 and 6 new EH&S functionality is delivered which can be used only if the corresponding switch is activated.
In any case: if according to a.) EH&S is "activated" you should find EH&S in transaction S000 (sub node Logistics). To use EH&S properly a number of steps are required.  With SAP ECC shipment you have a "basic" set up of EH&S after you have activated EH&S properly and performed the further activation tasks (mainly => client 000 activities to your productive client)
Then you should check the EH&S Customizing. You will find there some nodes. As mentioned SAP EH&S consits of a number of submodules. At least you must/should do something in the area of "EH&S Basic" set up. In this steps you define e.g.
a..) number ranges of important EH&S objekts (like specification keys, phrase keys etc.)
b.) then you should check specification types/identifers etc. in customizing
c.) you should "create "ideas" regarding phrase management etc.
d.) if necessary you must perform DMS customizing
After this "basic" set up you can think about the use of the whole EH&S bundle (DG, HSM Management etc.)
The best practises cited in this thread helps you in identiyfing the necessary activation/customizing steps.
The EH&S <=> QM interface can only be used if you have done the principle EH&S Set up.
    With best regards
    C.B.
PS: At least follow the Best practise:
    851: EH&S Product Safety
    and
    935: Chemicals: EH&S Product safety

  • E-Recruitment  and EHS - tables are missing ECC 6.0

    Hello All,
We have recently noticed that we have tables missing in our  SAP HCM and our EHS(Employe Health and Safety) Development Box.  I am attaching the list of tables for review by all.  Can someone tell me, please, if they know what these tables are for and if they are part of a note or submodule running off main modules for E-Recruitment and EHS.  I checked notes in OSS but cannot find the tables for the EHS or E-RC modules.
We cannot find these tables listed anywhere.  We are using ECC 6.0 and the BB installlment was for N. America.
    <b>EH&S Tables</b>
CCRCC_CHCK_ON - EHS: Online Checks for Regulation/Scenario/Scenario Category
CCRCC_DET - EHS: Data Determination Modules per Regulation/Scenario
    CCRCC_DETDOCTYPE - EHS: Modules for Regulation/Scenario/Scenario Category
CCRCC_EXCHG - EHS: Data Transfer from and to EH&S
    CCRCC_FILTER - EHS: Data Filtering
CCRCC_LIMITG - EHS: General Quantity Restriction
CCRCC_LIMITS - EHS: Relative Quantity Restriction
    CCRCC_MON - EHS: Monitoring Settings
    CCRCC_PERIOD - EHS: Period Definition
    CCRCC_SCENTYPE - EHS: Scenario-to-Scenario-Category Assignment
    <b>ERECRUIT - PA-ER - E-Recruiting</b>
T77RCF_INCL2FORM - Assignment of Text Element to Smart Form Template
    T77RCF_WL - Worklist
T77RCF_WLA_IDXGR - Index Group for Worklists
T77RCF_WL_ACT_P - Action Profile of Worklists
    T77RCF_WL_OUT_P - Output Profile
T77RCF_WL_SEL_P - Selection Profile for Worklists
T77RCF_WL_SEL_PV - Values for Selection Profiles in Worklists
    Points awarded!!

    Hello Brenda,
I cannot speak for the EHS stuff but the tables you mentioned for E-Recruiting are part of the functional enhancements for e-recruiting 600 delivered with e-recruiting servie pack 7.
E-recruiting delivered 2 service packs which implmented new functioons. These were the e-recruiting packs 5 and 7. Futere enhancements will be delivered with the standard EhP (enhancement package) szenario - first of them is EhP3 for e-recruiting awaylable today if i remémber the schedules correctly..
You are probably missing these tables as you do not have installed the packages yet - so check your sp level. I strongly recommend you to upgrade to the newest service pack 11 for e-recruiting especially if you use / plan to use the webdynpro candidate frontend. But also for other implementation szenarios the sps are very urgent.
    For the table in detail:
T77RCF_INCL2FORM - is a tablke for the new letter / correspondence change functionality using a dedicated changable text area in the smartform whixh has the advantage towards the old solution that changed correspondence can be printed propperly.
All other tables are part of the so called dashboard functionality.
You can find additional information on these functional enhancements in the software download centered of the sapnet under "Installations and Upgrades" -> "SAP Application Components" -> "SAP ERP" -> "SAP ERP 2005" -> "Documentation".

    Hi pavan,
    thanks for the inputs
our requirement for measurement management is to capture the environmental parameters readings only
till we integrate scada  how can we manage entering the measurement readings in to sap  in EH& S module
regarding scada once we integrate can we take them to SAP EHS only
any other components should we have ?
where this is integrated to the data base tables of EH& S module or any thing else  like PM module measuring documents
needs some clarity on this as once we take the readings in to SAP we would be able to make reports , exceptions, alerts etc...
    regards,

  • Difference between SAP Carbon Impact and SAP EHS - Environment Compliance

I am confused between the functionality offered by SAP Carbon Impact and how different it is from SAP EHS Management - Environment Compliance. I understand that both of them are different technical products from SAP with Carbon Impact being an on-demand solution which was acquired from Clear Standards earlier this year.
However they seem to have an overlap in their functionality. Even the websites seem to talk about addressing similar issues.
[SAP EHS Management - Environment Complaince|http://www12.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/corporate_services/ehs/features-functions/environmental-compliance-software/index.epx]
    [SAP Carbon Impact|http://www12.sap.com/solutions/sustainability/offerings/carbon-impact/index.epx]
Has anyone used both the solutions and can tell what the difference is between the two in terms of their business functionality?

Hi Girish. While these two solutions both help manage environmental emissions, the specific pain points each address are distinctly different. Hopefully I can help explain. <p>
Environmental Compliance (EC) is a solution designed to help manage the heavy regulatory burdens associated with emission related compliance. EC helps you measure and monitor your direct emissions irrespective of medium (i.e. air, water, or solid waste) and manage these emissions against regulatory requirements. As an example, Title V air permits are typically hundreds of pages long and filled with numerous requirements and conditions. In order to meet the demands of the permit, thousands of tasks must be managed throughout the plantu2014be it calibrating a piece of machinery or measuring the sulfur content of fuel oil. EC provides a framework to break the permit down into its respective pieces and establish workflows to ensure compliance by managing the required tasks against the associated emissions. You can also set emission limit alerts in EC to trigger specified actions to help you proactively address your emissions as opposed to a more reactive approach taken after a permit requirement has been broken. EC also helps with the regulatory reporting of your emissions and compliance efforts by enabling you to create templatized versions of commonly required reportsu2014all available at the push of a button, or they can even be automated. <p>
Carbon Impact (CI) also helps you measure and monitor your emissions, but the real focus of this solution is on gathering enterprise-wide greenhouse gas emissions across geographies and scopes. For example, CI allows you to capture your direct emissions (Scope 1), your electricity emissions (Scope 2), and your indirect emissions (Scope 3). Scope 3 emissions are also sometimes referred to as supply chain emissions (both upstream and downstream) and can be the most difficult emissions category to capture when creating your enterpriseu2019s carbon inventory. For example, letu2019s say you own a steel mill. The ore that comes into your plant has an associated upstream greenhouse gas emission arising from the mining process and when you ship your final product there are emissions associated with the transport of your product to your customer. Beyond the plant, employee travel is another type of Scope 3 emission. If your company already runs SAP, you will benefit from CIu2019s integration into our Suite that allows you to quickly access your different sources of emissionsu2014be they Scope 1, 2, or 3. One of the advantages of CIu2019s on demand delivery model is that SAP maintains updated emission factors for various materials and activities from various authoritative sources including the EPA and GHG Protocol; with this prepackaged content you no longer need to do the work of tracking down the correct emission factor and making sure it is up to date. In addition to calculating your enterprise carbon footprint, CI also gives you the tools to evaluate different abatement projects to reduce your overall environmental impact. CI also provides reporting capabilities to help with the voluntary reporting processes associated with, for example, the Global Reporting Initiative or the Carbon Disclosure Project.<p>
Often times a helpful way to understand the difference between the two solutions is to think about how they work together. If you implemented both of them, EC would be the solution that would help you collect direct emissions data and manage the associated regulatory requirements. The EC emission data would then feed into Carbon Impact to represent your direct emissions. Carbon Impact would then gather your remaining emissions as described above to give you your entire emission footprint and then help identify the best way to reduce it.

  • Portal content BP for EHS

    Hi EHS gurus,
I would like to know whether there is any BP for SAP Portal content(EP7) for EHS(ECC6). I have found a BP BPEHS501_0-20000614 and imported in SAP portal. I got a role with pages for Industrial Hygiene&Safety and Product Safety. Is this all or is there any other BP for EHS.
Can you please let me know on this ASAP as i have to get back to the client on this.
P.S: XEM is out of our scope. We are going for basic EHS feature as this is a university implementation.

  • EHS & PLM integration in EP6

    Hi experts,
Currently we have integrated EAM/PLM and EHS on ECC 6 EhP4.
Later the user access will be limited to the Enterprise Portal 6.0 for those modules.
For the moment I have implemented the following business packages :
    - BP for assets 50.3
    - BP for PLM WD (SP6)
    - BP for EHS 50.1 (plus patch for EP6)
But with those iViews you cannot create/modify/delete any elements. You can just display information on the elements.
    So my questions are :
    - How can I implement iViews for modifying module's elements?
    - Does our SAP developers team have to make specific developments? Or does it already exist?
    - Does BSP or Webdynpro ABAP applications already exist on the ECC6?
Thanks for helping me for those search

    Hi,
PLM 7.0 which came out with EhP4 is providing a WebDynpro user interface to material, document, BOM, change number.
This can be embedded in the NW Portal, NW Business Client or run standalone.
See this link: [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/fc/30f52becb143aaa23aeecc5eb2cfcb/frameset.htm], incl. related Business Package.
Depending on which area of EH&S and EAM you are talking about, there are also WebDynpro based applications available already as far as I know.
    Regards, Ulf.

Pls guide me in this regard. is it correct decision. and what about the future for SAP EHS? what is the requrirement qualifications for SAP EHS? Because i dont have any knowledge on IT. Pls guide and give your valuble advises friends.
    Regards
    Viswanath Reddy

    Dear Reddy,
There are two aspects of becoming SAP EHS consultant. One is having good knowledge of day to day activities what are currently carried out in an industry and second is understanding the process flow when you use software to ensure smooth functioning. By seeing your mail it is very clear that you got very good domain knowledge. I have following to offer when it comes to becoming a SAP EH&S consultant
    i) Get overall knowldege of SAP - SAP Overview course
ii) Take up some trainings available through SAP or Technidata on Basic Data and Tools and Product Satefy  - which I believe are  pre-requisite for other modules implementation.
iii) By seeing your profiles it seems you will fit into IH&S and OH or Environmental Compliance domains. So decide which is good for you, then I suggest you to go for appropriate training or read online documentation. Practice a lot - there is no substitute for this !!!!!
iv) Find some job in a company - then try to expand yourself for different modules.
Become  a successful SAP EH&S Consultant
    All the best
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello HP
a high number of similar requests/threads can be found in this FORUM together with corresponding answers.
    Please
a.) Refer to Best practise of SAP installing EHS (once again they are mentioned several times in this FORUM)
b.) Specify more precisely the term "EH&S". In most cases the customer must prepare a "roll out" project plan. Basic EH&S installation is based on core customizing. IN most cases the customer needs: (please refer to online help of SAP EH&S to get more details: http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/a5/3adda043be11d188fe0000e8322f96/frameset.htm):
    -  EHS& Basic Data and Tools
    - EHS Product Safety
    - EHS Dangerous goods management
    - EHS Hazardous substance management
    - in case of international customer: EH&S SVT
    - if the customer needs labels (it is assumed that he need): EHS GLM
    - and in some cases EH&S Waste is needed on the top.
Preparation of blueprint as well as doing a set up of EH&S Products Safety and Dangerous Goods management can take one year (depending on the availability of ressource on client side). Using the best Practise approach (if customer starts from scratch) help  to reduce efforts; but this is really client specific.
Further on installation (that means time to analyze and implement etc.) depends on the release which the user will use (ECC 6.0 is now best practise with or with EnhPacks). Further on if the customer is "really" an international one solutiones in the area of e.g.:
    - SAP product and REACH Compliance Suite
    - SAP GTS installations (generally the existing GRC architecture/strategy of SAP might be of interest to the customer/client)
    - SAP Components Extension
    Hope this helps.
    With best regards
    C.B.
PS: PLease be informed that SAP (and other companies) is providing additional services which are needed in the EH&S environment (legal data)
