EIGRP Authentication still working after removing it

HI Guys,
a few days ago I have experienced an issue with eigrp md5 authentication on uplink interface. Basicaly authentication was not there but was on other nieghbors, even though neighbor with  no md5 was still learning  routes from others and neighborship never failed. Once switch 4948 was reloaded nieghborship lost and no routes have been learned. My question is why it did not fail before (authentication has been removed from interface 5 months ago) and it was working fine until last Tuesday (reload)
Thanks

Hi Prashant
I agree it should not be possible but it happend and last for over 5 months untill we reloaded the swtich, 4 CCIE lads were loking at it and they are supprissed as we all are.
thanks anyway

  • Does GPU acceleration in Illustrator CC still work after disabling 'GPU Preview' and enabling 'CPU Preview' (on a workstation gpu)?

I'm using a workstation graphics card that allows for GPU acceleration in Illustrator CC.
Selecting 'GPU Preview' instead of 'CPU Preview' under the 'View' toolbar in Illustrator CC results in a more choppy experience.
    Which leads me to wonder:
Does GPU acceleration in Illustrator CC still work after disabling 'GPU Preview' and enabling 'CPU Preview' (on a workstation gpu)?
Does GPU acceleration for my gpu actually improve the performance for my work?

If you disable the GPU acceleration in preferences then you'll be unable to enable GPU preview under the view menu. It will automatically go into CPU preview as the GPU is no longer enabled.
If you're experiencing choppy performance when you do have the GPU preview selected, something is amiss because any GPU that can support GPU acceleration should be able to do it without a performance hit.
What is the video card that's in the workstation?

  • Will all my apps still work after upgrade?

I am always nervous doing any updates because inevitably some apps start working funny or don't work at all after them. I really want to update to Lion, but I'm concerned about some older apps I have, the number one being Final Cut Pro 7. Will this still work after the Lion upgrade? As well as all my other software?
    Thank you!

How do you mean install onto a test drive? I've never done that before.
Connect an bare external drive and install Lion onto that. Test all of your critical software to ensure it works. If you have some vitally important piece of 3rd party software that doesn't work in Lion, you may have to continue to use Snow Leopard until an update to that 3rd party software is available or you find a replacement.

  • Security policy from old GPO still applying after removal

We have a Server 2k3 domain with a mix of 2k8R2 (PDC) and 2k3 DCs. We are currently in the process of
replacing older 2k3 DC policies with newer policies. Policy A (AKA "Old policy") has always been a problem as it contains settings which cause errors in the event logs of the DCs it is applied to (ID 1020 "Windows cannot create
registry key CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. (The parameter is incorrect)" and 1096 "Windows cannot access the registry policy file, \\domain.com\sysvol\domain.com\Policies\{GUID}\Machine\registry.pol. (The parameter is incorrect)").
Policy B (AKA "New policy") has been wonderful in a completely different AD Forest/Domain that we created it in but is not happy after we copied it to this Domain.
The new policy was exported as a Backup and imported by creating a new GPO on this domain and choosing "Import settings". We've previously encountered both the "hidden file" and "read only" issues with copying GPOs so we avoided
those by ensuring hidden files were copied and removing "read only" from the policy folder. The new policy was then applied to the Domain Controller OU with a higher precedence than the old policy. Neither policy is set to enforced
and the links for both were enabled, both policies are set with GPO Status "Enabled" so the new policy should have overridden the older policy settings. After several gpupdate /force and reboots, the 2k3
domain controllers are showing in RSOP a Red x on "Computer policy" with "Group policy Infrastructure" as failed with details "Group Policy Infrastructure processed successfully but failed to log resultant set of policy information".
Under general with "Display all GPOs and filtering status" Old policy is lower than new policy.
When drilling down to "User Rights Assignment" you can see that "Old Policy" is still the winning policy for all settings. When under "Administrative Templates" "New policy" is the winning policy there. So it
seems that the new policy is applying for admin template settings but not for security policies.
I then disabled the old policy which reflected under the general tab filtering status "Disabled" but the user rights assignment still showed Old policy as winning. I tried modifying the Old policy and saw that the serial number for the policy updated
in the RSOP general tab. Then I completely removed the link for the policy from the DC OU and the policy disappeared from the general tab but still showed under User Rights Assignment.
I've tried clearing the Cached group policy from the machine with:
    secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose
and deleting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft] from registry and c:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy from HD.
Usually I'll get an error from RSOP about RSOP already running until I gpupdate /force and then I'm back at square one.
I've confirmed that the issue is not replication, the machine shows no errors in FRS and I've performed non-authoritative SYSVOL restore on this server. repadmin
    shows no errors.
I have not yet tried to demote/repromote the server as I'm unconvinced that will have any effect. I've seen this kind of issue on 2k3 servers where even after removing the server from the domain entirely the policies from the domain still remain in effect
to where you cannot even modify a setting from local gpedit.msc.
It seems that something is causing security policies to stick from the old policy but is allowing admin template policies to apply from the new policy. Where would these old settings be cached from, and how can I get them to go away?

I've now also tried putting the machine in an OU with inheritance blocking an no policies applied.
I've tried deleting [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GroupPolicy\History] and reboot.
I've turned on all the logging (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc775423%28v=ws.10%29.aspx) and I can even see the .inf files created in c:\windows\security\templates\policy
for each GPO and the policy shows the correct settings.
    NTRights (http://ss64.com/nt/ntrights.html,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315276) allows me to set the setting manually and AccessChk shows me the current settings
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb664922.aspx but I still cannot get RSOP to come back clean. I can also see in c:\windows\security\logs that some of the security settings
I'm working show up; "remove SeDebugPrivilege." for example shows up as having been removed from the local administrator which was one of the changes I made.
I've opened up a ticket with Microsoft Support but they haven't had any fresh ideas either. My best guess at this point is that policy is actually applying but RSOP is busted. I have no idea how to reset the RSOP data however.
At this point I'm trying to run WMIDiag to see if there's an issue with WMI as several of the misc errors in the gpedit.log file come up with WMI related issues in google ("InitializeRSOP failed with 0x80070102", "GetObject for event source
    of RSOP_ExtensionEventSource.id="{GUID}" failed with 0x80041002").
I should clarify that AccessChk seems to indicate that the User Rights Assignment settings ARE applying but are not showing correctly in RSOP.

on my imac and ipad i was asked to upgrade iCloud to iCloud drive. will my iCloud mail and calendar still work on my iphone 4 with iOS 7 after i choose to upgrade?

Yes.  iCloud Drive doesn't effect synced data such as calendars, contacts, notes, etc.  It also has nothing to do with iCloud email accounts.

  • SSH Still Working after Hostname change???

    Hi all,
I was under the impression (from past experiences) that SSH self-signed certificates are made up of the Hostname and the Domain Name of the router.
I have been working on a customer network and I can see that the SSH RSA certificate is using the old hostname of the device+domain name but SSH still works both inbound and outbound on the VTY lines!
I thought you had to zeroize the keys and recreate using the crypto key generate rsa command in order to continue to use SSH after a hostname change so that the new certificate contains the new hostname?
Any explanation would be greately appreciated
    Many thanks
    David

    Hi David.
Yes after changing router parameter such as Hostname, domain name SSH still works with the old certificate.
What i can suggest you is to recreate it through crypto key generate rsa command in configuration mode.

  • Will my mac book still work after spilling coffee on it?

I just spilt coffee on my MacBook Pro.  Will it still work if I put it in rice?

Wow. Well umm I'm not very sure on that, especially since rice would get into your fan intakes and the rest of your internals. I would open up your MacBook Pro and use cotton swabs with 80% or above isopropyl alcohol to wibe off parts with visible coffee spill marks. Just let it dry as much as you can like this and make sure you don't get the alcohol on connectors.

  • Find my iPad - will it still work after changing icloud username/pw?

My iPad was stolen last week.
In haste, I quickly changed all my passwords, and even changed my Apple ID. I wasn't thinking about the fact that the iPad won't be able to connect to iCloud if I changed the password. (And of course, I can't change it back.)
If the crooks are dumb enough to turn it on and connect it to the internet, will Find My iPad still work, even if it can't connect to iCloud?
    Thanks.

    No.

  • No 'remove' buttons on any plugin. 'Never activate' plugins still work after restart.

Specifically want to have the option to use foxit or acrobat, but even after setting both to "never activate," and restarting, foxit opens a pdf right up, no questions asked.
Tried 'refresh firefox,' but no dice.
    Thanks!

Plugins are not under control of Firefox and can only be disabled.
Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.

  • Voicemail not working - after removing and adding Dialplan

    Exchange 2013
    Lync 2013
I had a UM dial plan configured and it was working properly.   I removed that plan and added a new one.  The new one does not work.
When ever you leave a Voice-mail for a user, they never get it.  If the user logs in, they still have access to old voice-mails that were left before the UM dial plan was deleted and a new one created.
My assumption is that when you activate the user for UM, it is attaching back to the existing information, instead of using the new dial plan.  Anyone have any thoughts on how to stop this?
Is there a way I can just purge all UM information and start over?
    Thanks,
    Rogan

I did, as far as I can tell the new dial plan is working.
Currently, only I am enabled for UM in the environment.  If you call my extension, you are able to leave a VM.  I never get a missed call notification or the Voicemail.  If I manually log into my Voicemail, I have no new voicemail and only
old ones that were left before this new UM plan was created.
I did remove UM from my account and re-add it with the new one, that did not solve the problem.
Where are the VM that are being left now going, if not into my mailbox.
Does deleting a UM remove any associated voicemails?  Should it?
Do you know if there is a way for me to reset my mailbox, to fully remove the UM capabilities and then start over?

  • CONTAINS clause still works after disabling fulltext index on a table

I disabled the fulltext index on a table using the below query:
    USE <dbname>;
    GO
ALTER FULLTEXT INDEX ON <table_name> DISABLE
Per BOL, "The table will not support full-text queries while the index is disabled.", I would expect the CONTAINS clause to stop working but I can still return rows from the <table_name> as before.
    SELECT top 10 *
      FROM [dbo].[table_name]
      WHERE CONTAINS(<column>, N'test');
The above returns 10 rows before and after disabling the index.
Do i need to do something else?
    I even tried DENY permissions:
DENY CONTROL, TAKE OWNERSHIP, ALTER, REFERENCES, VIEW DEFINITION ON FULLTEXT CATALOG::<catalog_name>
    TO <some_database_roles including public>
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Thanks

    Charles,
Do you have any DDL Triggers on your server that might affect whether the full text index could be disabled?
Any Policies that might likewise affect your results?

  • Iphone 5 still working after 15min underwater?

Hi folks, my ip5 got sumerged in sewer canal about 4inches deep for 15min, it was late when i found out that it fell off my pocket by accident..
My first reaction was to check if still lights up and yes it did..  BtwI had it covered with a thin transparent plastic case with top and bottom exposed.
So i quicly ran home and turned power off the iphone, and did the rice trick.. Im not a patient guy so i tried to power it on after 3hours and everything was working
Fine - screen, home button, network, wifi, vibrator motor, power and volume buttons, speakers. As of now its in the rice hole and ill try it again tommorow morning
    Hopefully it works..
Now im not sure if im lucky or is the iphone really water resistant?

I'd leave it in the rice for maybe a week (maybe change the rice a couple of times during that, as it is not a great desiccant), or throw in some silica gel packs.  Then, knock wood, you may be lucky and it survived.  Water damage is such a variable thing that everyone's experience may be different and just subject to their luck on that day.
If you have AppleCare+ you could also use one of your accidental damage claims to get a replacement if it does not revive fully or operates but not fully or normally.
Otherwise, the out of warranty exchange is a pretty decent deal actually.  For the fee you get a factory refurbished unit, which is essentially like a new unit, and does have an actual factory new screen and battery.  Getting an out of warranty exchange unit will also re-instate your remaining warranty (if you have any) or 90days, whichever is longer.

  • 2002 G3 iBook still working after ten years.

My iBook, built in 2002, 700mhz, 640mb RAm, OSX 10.4.11Tiger is still running with no issues. It is also on the list of Apple Recalls UV2206EHLQ2, and has not suffered the infamous Logic Board failure that these are known for. Am I right in thinking that this is a good one, and will probably go on working for a while yet. I bought her used about three years ago from Fleabay, and is used almost daily. Your comments are welcome!

Hi, thanks for the reply? I use the standard Safari Browser and Camino, some larger YouTube videos are choppy, I find it better if I let them completely load first. I do not watch streaming video, I know it's not designed for that. The hard drive has obviously been replaced as this one is 75GB.  The model I have came with 30 or 40GB as standard. I use MS Office 2004 and Open Office 3, Corel Draw 11, and a few games.  I also have a couple of G3 IMacs from the 1990's, both maxed out with RAM and bigger HDD's and my kids use them daily. I guess if they are left in situ, and not carted around the place and bashed, they stay OK. As to the Internet, with an Airport Card fitted I am getting reasonable speeds. I use my iPad to surf the web normally. I find the iBook on a par with my Pentium 4 Sony Vaio, but the Internet speed where I live in the UK is pretty dire, so I may not be the best judge.  I seem to be lucky with Hardware, the only major problem I have had is with a used G4 iMac 'lamp'. Which had to have the video chip bodged to prevent the all too often Kernel Panics. I love my Macs, every one I have is pre-owned, I am pretty sure that they can be made to last if care is taken. After all, spares are so hard to come by in the UK, and the Apple Dealers are so very expensive here and rather few and far between.

  • After updating to Firefox 8.01 all my add-ons are disabled & I have to manually reinstall those that still work after each reboot??

After updating to Firefox 8.0 & 8.01 all my add-ons were disabled.
I have to reinstall those that still can be enabled manually after each reboot. These, that I can reinstall, are:
    Download Helper 4.9.7/WOT 20111107/Adblock 1.3.10/DivX plus Web Player HTML5 2.1.2.145/
