EIS 7 and EIS 9 Cube Load Issue-Urgent

Hi,
I am loading a cube which takes 25 mins in thru EIS 7 but it takes 2 hours+ in if the cube is loaded from EIS 9.
Is it hardware confiugration problem.
Please suggest something.

You have two different installations, one with EIS 7 and one with EIS 9... are these completely identical models, metaoutlines, servers, applications, and databases that have such dramatically different performance? At first guess I would think any thing that is different between the load with EIS7 and the load with EIS9 would be a candidate for explaining the performance difference.

0IC_C03 info cube loading issue

Hi,
While loading the 0IC_C03 (Inventory) info cube from 2LIS_03_BF
extractor job is taking long time, even while loading upto PSA and also
while loading the data from PSA to info cube through DTP.
When i checked the same with other two extractors it was working fine
i.e., 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_UM. I have checked in the process monitor
in SM50 in BI it was showing ACTION: Direct Read TABLE: NRIV.

Ouuupsss, you must be on the interval definition.
Execute the SNRO transaction
Enter your number range ID
Modify the definition of your number range (the pen )
Menu Goto
Buffer
Memory
Then there is a new field that that should be displayed. Something like "Buffer size". 500 is a good start (not too small, not too big).

InvMgt Cube-load issues - stock movmts has not happened - how to delete

Hi,
For few Materials in R/3, current stock is Zero.
But for the sam Material ,in BW, the Stock is available. loads has happened from 2008. Then the Materials stock is initialised.
After that movements were loaded but, it never zeroed the TotalStock for that Material till now.
And in R/3 the Stock is zero for that material currently.
( As u will be knowing the cube has non-cumulative KF, which takes inflow:Reciot Qty & outFlow:Issue Qty(based on Stock Movement, the non-cumlative KF holds the last value)
There are no R/3 records for the material in Tcode MB51( no stock movement for the year 2008 is available).
How to resolve this issue, would anyone guide me please , as this isssue is in Production now.
there are many Materials like the same way. How to get the latest Stock ie.0 to all these records.
please guide me.

Use :See the steps how to load the data to 0IC_C03.
Treatment of historical full loads with Inventory cube
Setting up material movement/inventory with limit locking time
If it is BI 7 then for BX in in DTP in Extraction Tab you need to select Extacrion mode = NON-Cumulative option.

Data Extraction and ODS/Cube loading: New date key field added

Good morning.
Your expert advise is required with the following:
1. A data extract was done previously from a source with a full upload to the ODS and cube. An event is triggered from the source when data is available and then the process chain will first clear all the data in the ODS and cube and then reload, activate etc.
2. In the ODS, the 'forecast period' field was now moved from data fields to 'Key field' as the user would like to report per period in future. The source will in future only provide the data for a specific period and not all the data as before.
3) Data must be appended in future.
4) the current InfoPackage in the ODS is a full upload.
5) The 'old' data in the ODS and cube must not be deleted as the source cannot provide it again. They will report on the data per forecast period key in future.
I am not sure what to do in BW as far as the InfoPackages are concerned, loading the data and updating the cube.
My questions are:
Q1) How will I ensure that BW will append the data for each forecast period to the ODS and cube in future? What do I check in the InfoPackages?
Q2) I have now removed the process chain event that used to delete the data in the ODS and cube before reloading it again. Was that the right thing to do?

-->> Try to load data into ODS in Overwrite mode full update asbefore(adds new records and changes previous records with latest). Pust delta from this ODS to CUBE.
If existing ODS loading in addition, introduce one more ODS with same granularity of source and load in Overwrite mode if possible delta or Full and push delta only subsequently.

--> Yes, It is correct. Otherwise you will loose historic data.

Flat file load issue-Urgent

Hello
I'm trying to load a master data infoobject with a flat file and getting errors.
The infoobject ZCOLLECT_DATE has two fields - ZQUARTER and ZCOLLECTDATE
ZCOLLECT_DATE is of Data type NUMC, Length 5, conversion routine PERI5 and Output length 6
I created a flat file in Excel the following way:
Left the first row blank
Second column - 1/2008 (for ZQUARTER)
Thrid column - 01/11/2008 (for ZCOLLECTDATE)
I saved it as a CSV (save as-> csv).
In the infopackage, I've selected this file in the External data tab, File type CSV, Data separator ; , Escape sign "
When I try to load the infoobject, I get the following error:
"Error in conversion exit CONVERSION_EXIT_PERI5_INPUT"
I thought this was because the Length in my infoobject was 5, whereas ZQUARTER is of length 6 in my flat file (eg-1/2008) and ZCOLLECTDATE is of format mm/dd/yyyy.
Any thoughts on what the issue is?

I changed it to 12008, 22008 etc.. but still get the error ""Error in conversion exit CONVERSION_EXIT_PERI5_INPUT"
Also, when I save the xls file as CSV, I get two pop-ups saying some features are not compatible and only those features that are compatible will be saved. Are these normal warnings, or could they be causing the issue?
Also, in the infoobject, since it only consists of dates, do I need to specify conversion routine PERI5 in Infoobject properties/maintenance?

I need advice here in flash builder.
i need to create 2 canvas that each load an object. i manage to do it one by one in 1 sec difference between them, but thats my problem.
i need then to create at the same time.
thow i use trace to watch the process of the creation the result that i get is that i can see them in process but get one result on view not both. why?

Flash and XML data loading issue

I have this SWF that loads 2 XML files that controls 2 different areas of the SWF. I am using this code because I have stacked layers and when this was 2 seperate SWFs I couldn't use the SWFObject because of the wmode quirk in FF. So my issue is when you first load this it seems to only load the slideshow (left side) and part of the right menu and then on refresh it loads the rest of the menu - how do I get it to load everything at once? I have attacehed all of my files.

Deta load issue - urgent

Hi All,
I have created a new infocube A. I want to load this with data from ODS B. The ODS B is already scheduled to load data to cube C and is a delta load. So as to load all the data from B to A can I do a full load from B to A and in the delta package which is feeding C can I check A in the data targets tab. Will this load all the data from B to A without losing any records.
One more thing is if I check the dataprovider in datatargets tab of the infopackage will it be reflected in Process chain so that I dont have to move a transport for Process chain.

Kal,
Create another InfoPackage under your ODS 'B'. Use it load to a wherein your 'Data Target' tab you select only 'A' and in 'Update' tab, select 'Full Update'. This will do a full load from ODS 'B' to Cube 'A' without fail.
After that, if you want your process chain to run this load and not your other delta load, simply exchange the InfoPackage with this one. Or if you want your PC to have both, then you need to add this infopackage in your PC at appropriate place. In both the cases, however, you need to redo the the transport.
If you want to make it short, simply transport your new infopackage to the production server. Do the above changes right in your server itself, which is not the right way to do.

Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.

we have a flash appln created in flash cs3 , here we are
loading some png images dynamically,
we have tested in windows and mac environment , it is working
images are loading fine.
when we are testing in clinets machine png images alone not
loading ... they are testing in IE6 anf FireFox2
please help me in this...

On a quick look, perhaps this error is related to the
problem. The problem could be permissions on the server side,
whereas your computer has permission, but other computers do not.
Regardless, maybe this will give you a starting point to figure out
where the problem is occuring.

EIS 6.2 Data load

We are upgrading to EIS 6.2. I've set up an outline that mirrors our production outline and can perform a member load without errors. The data load also runs without errors, the problem is no data gets loaded. I have cut and paste the SQL query the EIS generates from the log file and used it the query the Oracle database. It returns valid data. Has anyone had this data load issue with EIS 6.2. I checked the log file after the data load and I cannot find any errors.

have you tried putting that working SQL statement in the user defined sql and using it for the data load? what do the loadinfo/dataload.txt files say (if anything)

EIS and Essbase Error Number 1030011

Planning and EIS

Does planning work with EIS? If we wanted to write back to the detail (in relational table) from planning, is that possible?Thanks for any suggestions!

Planning requires that the metadata either be defined manually or via HAL. So, out of the box, Planning doesn't snap in with EIS.That said, you can certainly architect a solution that incorporates Planning, a detailed reporting solution in Essbase, coordination between Planning and Essbase via Partitioning, and an EIS package to allow drill to detail from the reporting cube. That is exactly the architecture that we are implementing at a client currently. If you insisted on connecting EIS with your Planning cubes, I've been told that it is possible to fake EIS and convince it that it built the Planning Essbase cubes, thereby allowing drill back.

EIS to Essbase data load process

I have two user defined queries in a metaoutline. When i perform dataload operation from EIS, the Essbase application log says that dataload updated [] cells and Data Load Elapsed Time [] seconds but the EIS dataload process is still running. It seems that Essbase is loading the data only for the first query and completing dataload while EIS is still running second query.Has anyone else experienced this problem? Essbase and EIS both are 6.5.0.

In EIS
1) You have to define the Logical OLAP Model connecting to the relational source.It defines the joins between fact table and dimension tables.
2) Based on the OLAP Model You have to create meta outline which defines the rules for loading members and data into essbase.

Issue while cube load

Hi All,
I am getting following error while doing the cube load.
***Error Occured in __XML_PARALLEL_LOADER: In __XML_UNIT_LOADER: In __XML_RUN_CC_AUTOSOLVE: Incremental aggregation over the dense DIMENSION OLAP_AGG!SCENARIO is not supported when aggregating a VARIABLE dimensioned by a COMPRESSED COMPOSITE.
I understand this error comes when we try to aggregate the compressed cube and dimensions are not limit to all(limit to some values only). I faced this issue when manually running the aggmap of the cube after limiting the dimenisons.
But this is happening now in the cube load through the script generated by AWM. I cannot run the cube load through AWM as this is in UAT env.
One more clue is that the permit read is implemented and it do not allows to see some private scenarios but this should not cause the issue as permit_read will only get executed when user tries to connect in read only mode.

In AW, Right click on the Cube to Maintain it. Once done, Rebuild the cube. If this doesn't work, then first save the cube to template. Delete the cube, recreate it from the saved template and then maintain it followed by restarting all services and then do the full build.
