Either there is no default mail client...........

Hi there,
I use Outlook 2003 and only sync my outlook calendar & contacts with my iPhone 3GS.
Everytime I try to sync, I get the error message "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
It's already set as the default mail client
And I've uninstalled & re-installed both iTunes & Outlook (been working on it the whole day!!!)
Anyone out there has a solution? Would really save the day!!
Thanks!

When trying to open Outlook in Win 8.1 I get the error message:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
It eventually opens but none of my Mail accounts load. When I click on one of the accounts I get
"Cannot expand the folder. Internet mail is not registered properly. Re-install and try again."
Outlook is set with all its defaults. I've tried going through the Repair routine for Microsoft Office but it doesn't help.

    Hi,
To delete a profile, you may try the steps below:
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps
carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
    1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command.
    2. Type regedit in the Open field and click OK.
    3. Locate the key then right click on it and choose Rename:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem
    4. Type OLD at the end of the name.
    5. Try opening Outlook and it may prompt that you need to create a new profile.
    I hope this can help.

  • Either there is no default mail client of the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request-----error Outlook 2010

I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in this link (http://blog.timolthof.com/outlook-no-default-mail-client-error/) and everything google and bing and still this message keeps popping up.  Now when I do a windows search for email, I'm not able to view
the email due to this message.
For the record, I am running W7 Ultimate x64 and connected via Excange Server.  I do have another system that is running Office 2010 with none of these problems so I don't know if it's related to Exchange though the searches I've done don't allude
    to that.
    What's up?

    Hi,
I understand that when you tried to open Outlook 2010 beta on the Windows 7 64-bit computer, you encountered the following error:
"Either there is not default mail client of the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and
set it as the default mail client."
You have checked the settings under the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
I understand the inconvenience you have encountered and appreciate the time and effort you spent on this issue. Please be assured that I
will try my best to help you.
Now let’s troubleshoot the issue by the suggestions below. Please check the results after each suggestion until the problem is resolved.
Suggestion 1: manually set Outlook 2010 as the default e-mail client on Windows 7:
    ===================
    1.
    Click Start.
    2.
    Type "default programs" in the
    Search box.
    3.
    Click Default Programs under
    Programs in the search results.
    4.
Now click Set your default programs.
    5.
Highlight Microsoft Outlook on the left.
    6.
Click Set this program as default.
    7.
    Click OK.
Suggestion 2: Start the Outlook program in safe mode
    ==============
    1.
Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to
    Microsoft Office.
    2.
Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the Outlook program you want to start.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Outlook program, we can try
to disable them. Normally, you could do the following to disable the conflict add-ins in your Outlook program:
    Disable add-ins
    Click
    File menu, click Options >
Add-in, click Go button in the Manage:
    Com-in Add.
Check if there are any add-ins,
clear the checkbox to disable them.
    Close the Office program and
    restart it.
Add one check back each time to the list of Add-In,
restart the Office program, and repeat the above procedure. Once the issue reappears again, we can determine which add-in causes this problem and then disable it.
Suggestion 3: Test the issue with a new Windows user account
    ==============
We can follow the steps in the articles to create a new user account to test the issue. If the problem does not occur in the new user account, some settings
in the old account are corrupted. We can copy the main user files from the old account to the new account, delete the old account, and then continue using the new account.
For the detailed steps on how to create a new user account and copy data from the old account to the new account, you can refer to the following articles:
    For Windows Vista/Windows 7:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. . If anything is unclear or if there
is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

  • Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run ...

Lync 2013 generates repeated messages stating “Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.”. Events that
seem to generate messages is disconnecting and re-connecting to a network but it also happens randomly and the messages will stack up during a working day. Everything seem to work OK but it is an annoyance.  The computer is upgraded (uninstalled first)
from Office 2013 ProPlus to Office 365 ProPlus. Outlook (Desktop) is default mail client. 64-bit Windows 8.1 Enterprise, 64-bit Office (both before upgrade and after).
(Links removed to remediations I've tried)
Made no difference what so ever and the messages continue. What's next?
I posted the above to the Office 2013 forum (unfortunately I'm not allowed yet to post a link to that posting) but due to the fact that the computer affected by this is a networked domain computer I've been redirected to this group instead.  I
was asked some additional questions ing the other forum regarding the problem:
Are you able to send mails from other applications like Word or Excel?
    NO
Is the PC connected to any Domain/Server? YES
Is this an issue with one PC only. NO - affects all computers that once had Office 2013 Pro Plus installed and now has Office 365 Pro Plus (Originally I posted this question in the Office 365 community but was directed to first the Office
2013 forum and now this forum)
Right click on any file and Click on Send to-> Mail Recipient and check if you are able to send mails using Outlook.
    NO
Also check if the Lync add-in is enabled in Outlook.
    Start Outlook
    Click the File tab.
    Go to Options.
    Click Add-ins.
Check if the Lync add-in is enabled. YES
My last posting in the other forum contained the following additional information regarding our problem:
As far as we can see installing 32-bit Office 365 Pro Plus using click to run makes no difference.
We do not send any mails from Lync, Lync is however the process that generates the message most frequently (as Lync seem to react upon network events).
Other processes that have Outlook plugins may also be the parent of the message popup (third party applications).
Yes the Lync add-in is enabled. Lync functionality in/from Outlook seem unaffected.
It is not possible to send emails from other applications (explorer, word, excel etc.) ie. right clicking and send to generates the messages and
a follow up error message concerning lack of MAPI enabled e-mail.

  • Migrating for outlook to t-bird, trying to import mail, error "either there is no default mail client...", I have confirmed that outlook is default, ?

I am migrating from Outlook to Thunderbird.
I have purchased a new computer running windows 8.
I have copied the outlook data file from my old computer to he new computer.
I have installed Thunderbird on my new computer.
I try to import existing email stored in Outlook to Thunderbird.
I get the message "either there is no default mail client..." I have made Outlook the default mail client and have rebooted the computer.
Any way to get thunderbird to recognize the Outlook file?
    Tom

The automatic import routine only works if you have TB and the old program installed on the same machine. If possible, I suggest you install TB on the old computer that currently has Outlook, run the auto-import, and then transfer the TB profile from the old computer to TB on the new machine.
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Move_to_a_new_PC
The method I've found that is the simplest and most reliable is to copy the Thunderbird folder from the old machine to the new one:

OK, so this should be straight forward:
I set outlook at the default mail client and associate all file with it from Outlook\File\Option.  Nope.  That does not work.
I go through default programs and set the default mail client as Office 2013 and associate all file with it from Outlook.   Nope.  That does not work.
I check the registry and it shows that the 64 bit or 32 bit reversion is the default mail client.  So that does not help.
I install the 64 bit version instead of the 32 bit version. Nope.  That does not work.
I clean the registry and temp file.  Nope.  That does not work.

    Hi,
Do you mean Send as Attachment button under File>Save & Send>Sending Using E-mail
in Office applications, like Excel or Word?
Is this an issue that come up recently? Have you ever made any changes to your system?
If you have installed multiple e-mail programs on the same computer, please try to make Outlook the default mail client and then try again:

  • Office 365 Outlook and Adobe 11.0.3 Error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current.."

If you are getting this message, Error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default mail client etc."
There is a temporary work around and that is to click the "Tools" button and that will hide that pane.
I contacted Adobe since I have a subscription and created a ticket. I spoke again with the helpdesk represenative and he raised the issue with the engineering team during a meeting that they had today. This compatibility issue will be examined and proposed for a fix in an upcoming release / update of Adobe Reader.

Manually setting a new email account per Outlook settings will resolve the error message as well.

  • Either there is no default mail client or the current client..

Is there a fix for the error message (either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set is as your default mail client) when trying to open a PDF file?. This error message started popping up after I installed Office 2013.

I have all windows 7 64 bit machines we uninstalled 2010 pro plus suite and loaded 2013 pro p,us suite offer for office 365. Every computer has the same issue even when we don't have any office product started if we open any PDF we get the error but the PDF will eventually open. I've consulted with Microsoft they point the finger at adobe?
We've uninstalled both products and reinstalled with no luck.
Does anyone from adobe have any sort of fix for this?
I've yet to reach out to adobe because I'm sure they don't have any type of free support.

  • Adobe Reader keeps telling me that there is no default mail client

Adobe Reader keeps telling me that there is no default mail client.  But I do have Outlook 2013 set as my default email client.  I really don't wish for Adobe Reader to be looking for an Email Client.  How can I get Adobe Reader to quit looking for an Email Client?

That's on a Mac, but it's the same in Windows.
After you click "Add Other..." use ANY email address (make one up if you feel like it)
Set it as your default. It should stop asking you to choose.

My issue is that on upgrading from Officer 2010 Pro to Office 2013 Pro, the only application I have a problem with is Outlook 2013, and only on the 64 bit machines.   The upgrade on 32 bit machine goes perfectly.   On both I install the

  • Set Microsoft Outlook as the default mail client.

Every time I am trying to sync my calendar, notes and mail account with my iPhone through iTunes I keep getting a notifactions saying 'Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client'.
The problem is that Outlook IS the default client.
Why can iTunes not complete this task for me...
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 Build 14.0.4536.1000 64-bit.
    Thanks.

I'm getting this and it's really annonying. The Nokia PC Suite provided a basic but functional PC calendar. Surely there's a simple PC client for the iPhone Calendar somewhere. I use Outlook Express and started using Outlook 2002 to manage my calendar but since a recent iTunes upgrade it's stopped working, giving this "default mail client" error. When I set Outlook to be the default mail client it made no difference.
Apple - you've scored an own goal here. Something that did work now doesn't work, and the only thing that's changed is your software.
I don't doubt it's down to compatability with M$ Outlook Add-ins, but they've not changed.

  • Default mail client (CR XI)

    Hello,
    we have the following problem:
We have a application using Crystal Reports XI. It's a C++ application and not a .net, but i think that doesn't matter.  One customer using this application has Lotus Notes and NOT Microsoft Outlook as mail client.
When using the Crystal Reports export function for export (any format, pdf, xls etc...) into application (not save, just open) we get a message that there is a problem with the default mail client (message box has the title "Microsoft Office Outlook"). The exact message: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
I have checked this an found out, that exporting into application (not save on harddisk) is never possible with CR XI, if Outlook is NOT the default mail client but another mail client is correctly registrered as default mail client.
Why and is there a solution for this problem? Or is this a Microsoft sponsored error?
    Best Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Don,
first thank you for your reply.
But i'm not trying to export to Lotus Notes. I'm trying to export directly into Adobe Acrobat, Excel etc.. But when i have selected the export format (PDF, Excel, Word etc.) and the target (application, harddisk, mapi etc.) and click on ok (if direct RDC call or using the export button in the reports viewer is the same) i always get the message "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client.".
So this problem is not related to a export into mail application, but to exports in general when Outlook is NOT the default mail client. If it is, i don't get the message posted above.
So it seems that crystal performs and default mail client check befor exporting (even if not exporting to a mail client or mapi) and don't likes other mail applications then outlook
    And this is my problem.
    Best Regards
    Michael

  • Default mail client error

    Hi;
I get this error mesage when trying to sync my Iphone to my PC:
*"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."*
I have Outlook Express. Under OPTIONS=>GENERAL=>DEFAULT MESSAGING PROGRAMS its says "This application is the default mail handler" . Is there another setting I've missed ? Please advise. Thanks!

The sync mail accounts setting only syncs the account settings, not the mail itself. There's no reason to do it more than once - account settings don't change (unless you make a change such as password).
Connect your phone with iTunes open and you'll see your phone show up as a device tab on the left side of the window. Click the "Info" section (on the top of the device window). Uncheck the comcast account, or better yet, uncheck "Sync Mail Accounts."

  • "no default mail client" error when iPod touch is plugged in

I use my iPod with a Mac at home and a WinXP box at work. I have a new 2G iPod touch. Whenever I plug it in at work and start iTunes, I start getting this error. The error window will pop up once or twice and then go away, at least for a while.
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
Yeah, right, like I'm going to do that. This seems to be coming from the program OutlookSyncClient.exe -- I don't have my iPod set to sync Calendars. So why is this happening and how can it be made to stop? Is iTunes trying to email someone? And why is Apple trying to get me to use a Microsoft email program? Insanity.

I just started getting that same popup error constantly, since upgrading to the latest iTunes version last night. I think in my case it's happening when the auto-sync to MobileMe is triggered. I don't have M$ Outhouse as my default mail client and don't want to make M$ Outhouse my default client, but I have been syncing calendars and contacts through it to MobileMe because it doesn't support syncing directly to the things I really use. Previously it worked OK without requiring me to make it my default client... what changed?
